"The state department of revenue revoked the restaurant’s license which leaves the future of Leghorn’s parent company, Element Collective, in question. The once promising restaurant group is now left with only Nellcote and RM Champagne Salon in West Loop." - Ashok Selvam

"RM Champagne is a romantic wine bar in the West Loop. It’s the perfect solution for a romantic date night when you can’t decide whether to take someone out for dinner or drinks. Settle in over a cocktail on their twinkly light patio out back, or order small bites oysters and crab claws if things are going well." - Adrian Kane

My friend and I came for dinner on a Monday evening. The place was pretty empty. The decor and atmosphere was very nice and romantic. It's definitely a good spot for a date. I requested to be seated inside at a booth seat along the walls. I wanted a bigger table since my friend and I tend to order a lot of food. However, the hostess said the bigger tables are a four top, and we can only sit at a two top table. I understand that there's only two of us, but the place was EMPTY. Why can't they just make me happy. Anyway, it didn't bother me too much, so our night proceeded. I arrived just in time to order a dozen of their happy hour oysters. I enjoyed them by myself while I was waiting for my friend that was stuck in traffic. The servers were friendly, and made me feel completely comfortable being alone, nothing awkward. The oysters were from the East coast. They were sweet, but super tiny. I should have ordered two dozen instead of one. We ordered the lobster deviled eggs, the cauliflower side, chicken liver mousse, lyonnaise salad, summer squash, and roast chicken. The portions were on the smaller size. We had leftovers, but we did order a lot for just two people. Everything was just okay. Nothing particular was very good. We ordered the white chocolate Panna Cotta for dessert, and it was way too sweet. Also, I know it's Monday, but it's disappointing that over half the dessert menu is not available. My overall experience was so so. I can't say I will be back anytime soon.

Went here for the Martini & Rossi Terraza Martini event. You enter through the back, walking down the side entrance. It was fun walking down the cobblestone pavement to the back of the locations patio. You can sit either inside or outside on the patio. The indoor is gorgeous with cloth-covered tables and a fireplace. The outdoor patio area is great for drinks and conversation or dinner with a loved one, where you can enjoy being outside on a nice warm day. They also rent out the restaurant for events, and weddings, and have a unique way of personalizing your celebration. We had lamb chops, meatballs, Pizza, as well as a nice array of cold cuts and cheeses. The staff was friendly and very attentive, we had a great time. We will return here to have dinner one evening and enjoy the location another time.

Brunch here is excellent. I'm shocked this place was relatively empty. The seafood was fresh, flavorful and simply delightful. I cannot wait to come back here. We tried the Salmon Tartare, my personal favorite on the menu, the Lobster Deviled Eggs another must have and the Petite Seafood Platter which is a combination of all seafoods on the menu just in a smaller portion. And yu can't come here without ordering a glass (or 2) of champagne. I had the Rainy Day in Paris. Wow! The staff Mixologist made a martini with a red wine topper. Not sure of the name, I think we just came at the right time when he was experimenting. I give this place a well deserved 5 stars. Based on location, atmosphere, food, drinks, and attentiveness of staff. Good job, RM! :p

Between the decór, the nestled setting, and the delicious food and cocktails this ranks high as one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. Not only is the ambiance incomparable to anywhere else, the food is expertly prepared and the cocktails are crafted to perfection. The staff is ready to share their favorites and my pro tip? Come here for oyster Tuesdays and try a new cocktail each visit. You won't regret it!

Was here for a few drinks and small bites after work on a Friday. They have a nice outdoor patio section which is refreshing. When the place got busy I felt the service got a little slow. One of the cocktails I wanted wasn’t available either right from the start. Their wine and champagne list is very decent though, although a little pricey. The calamari dish had more fried lemons and vegetables than actually calamari in it. I wouldn’t order that again.

Comfy venue great for a date. The ambience is very nice, lights at night and the music is not too loud. Their drinks are pretty good and their wine selection rules. A bit expensive though. Friendly service.

Tasty food, tried the Lyonnaise salad and the trout, both very good. Nice romantic ambiance, dim through out, although the loud music sort of kills it. The service was very nice. Thank you Heather

I wish I never heard of this place. It was a waste of time and money. The food wasn't good and was over priced. DO NOT order the oysters. They have a pungent fishy taste. Not creamy and firm, and also not cleanly shucked. There were little shell bits and I had to be careful as I didn't know on the first oyster I had and bit down onto a a tiny shell piece. We had also ordered salmon tartare and that was okay... it wasnt anything special but but it was fine. It gave me the impression of the chefs just dicing salmon up into pieces and just slapping it together. As well, for a place that has steak and frites on the menu how can you be out of fried by 730pm?! Overall a very underwhelming experience. At the end we asked for the bill and it took 20 mins. To be honest we felt like no one pays attention around the restaurant, so if we left without paying it would be on them as they wouldn't notice. A bit of advice, save yourself some money and pain of eating at RM and go to Au Cheval -- reservations recommended. Only thing that was nice about RM was the ambiance. I would never come back or recommend this place. Why this place had good ratings and reviews is beyond me.
