Coffee stand near my hotel. They are filter coffee. 3 levels of roasted bean you can choose. I got my light roast and it turn out ok. Dripping technique are far from professional barista. Taste turn out as the technique, just ok for me. They don't have seating area and they are parts of restaurant behind. Credit card accepted.

Delicious pour over coffee and cold brew! Had amazing service and was such a treat. Will definitely return.

Google
Stopped by Roast Coach this morning which is located near Meze Greek restaurant on 6th Ave in the Gaslamp District. Barista there was super friendly which was a different experience from what some other reviews had noted. Roast Coach offers pour overs and cold brews. Given it was summertime I went with an iced Southern Hospitality which was described as refreshing. It is made with brown sugar and fresh mint along with your choice of milk. I wasn’t a huge fan of the mint taste with the coffee but I wanted to give it a shot. Most likely I would order something else next time. Overall a solid place to get coffee.

Google
Wonderful little single proprietor coffee cart serving quality pour overs and cold brew. Barista was friendly and awesome. A slower option than Achilles or some of the neighboring shops, but take the extra two blocks off the beaten path of the convention center for a huge step up in coffee experience.

Google
I stopped in to this little establishment on my way to the San Diego zoo this morning. It wasn't what I expected, and for what it is it's great. The entire place is pour over coffee only, so if you're looking for an espresso based beverage you won't find it here. I got a mocha styled drink and it was surprisingly decent. The barista was friendly, sadly I didn't get her name, and the stand is nice and clean; but, due to its location there is no seating. If you want to sit you need to occupy the restaurant next door, which I assume after 9:00am opens up and you can no longer use. Either way if you want a unique pour over coffee experience, this is a nice little stop that won't hurt your wallet.

Google
This place is such a little gem! If you need a quick pick me up before a morning meeting downtown or a conference. This is your place for our over perfection. The owner is absolutely lovely and the espresso and coffee drinks are stellar. Add on a quick bit breakfast burrito or crossiant and you’ve got the perfect way to start a day. The iced coffee drinks and cold brew are also fantastic!

Google
This place should remove matcha from their menu- I bought it and right as she started making it knew it wasn’t going to be good based on what they were using and how it was made. It tasted like an overly sugared protein powder or something. It was so bad, I threw it away.

Google
Very friendly and knowledgeable server at the cart. Pour over coffee is very good. Wish they were open later.

Yelp
The first day I was in San Diego, I needed to come by because of the amazing reviews. IT WAS RAINING SO THEY WERE CLOSED !! I came back the next day and they were open and it truly was the highlight of my trip. They are located outdoors so hopefully when you go, there is good weather. This was top 5 cups of coffee of my life. I got the dealers choice, which happened to be vanilla cinnamon cold brew. The folks there are so knowledgeable about the beans they use and the different techniques of making a good cup of coffee. He even got a bag of the beans they use so I can buy some when I got home! If you love coffee you must go.

Yelp
This cute little coffee cart outside of Moonshine Flats is a can't miss! Everything time I stop by, I am met with friendly service and delicious coffee. They have different specials each month and they've all been really good, but you also can't go wrong with the oatmeal cookie I'll be back!

Mya T.

Yelp
Cute coffee spot located near lunch spots and not too far from petco park. I got the oatmeal cookie cold brew. The barista was really kind in suggesting flavors and sweetness levels. I think the coffee would've been better with a light roast pour over rather than a dark roast cold brew.

Alexandra C.

Yelp
One of the best coffee spots in town! The cold brew was smooth and rich, and the coconut crème flavor was something special. Loved the friendly vibe and fast service. Perfect stop for a morning pick-me-up -- I'll definitely be coming back!

Raelene P.

Yelp
Sometimes the coffee is rly good sometimes it's just ok! I do like that they have a stamp card for returning customers! I also like that they have mint

Anna D.

Yelp
Get down here NOW to try the strawberry matcha! This is the best matcha drink I have ever had. Served to me by the lovely charismatic Ashley, creator of the strawberry syrup used in the drink. BEST MATCHA EVER!

Sunita D.

Yelp
Can't provide a review. After she finished serving the person before us she said it was her break time and took off.

Yesenia A.

Yelp
Kevin was the best!!! He went above and beyond to get to know us and help us out while ordering and making our drinks. Really friendly, welcoming, kind, and knowledgeable. The southern hospitality was delicious, as was the smoothie special from comic con. He even offered to blend in the granola in our smoothie. A great experience thank you so much!!!

Lo K.

Yelp
BEST COFFEE I have had in years!!! My buddy asked me to try it and it didn't disappoint. It is all pour over but well worth the wait. There should be on of these in every city!!!

Iris W.

Yelp
A surprising find this morning on my way to the convention center-- craft pour over and cold brew ! The barista was super friendly and efficient despite a long line. The menu is just extensive enough without being over reaching. I had The Turk (Brown sugar, mint, cardamom and cream) with pour over --the spices and flavors were present without being over whelming and it wasn't too sweet (huge plus in my book). Looking forward to trying something new tomorrow!

Yelp
While staying close to the ballpark in the Gaslamp District in San Diego I wanted some morning coffee so I looked on Yelp and found this place. The reviews pretty much describe it, a cart within the street, the worker isn't chatty but gets you your drinks quickly and it's pretty much just drip coffee, no espresso or anything. I asked what the most popular is and it's the Dealers Choice which is with housemade cinnamon vanilla syrup with cream and tastes like a cinnamon roll. It was alright, not too sweet which I like. Pretty pricy for a cup of coffee, $7.25. I then walked around the city while sipping on my coffee and exploring. It was quick and easy to get especially when you're on the go!

Emily W.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday morning while in town for a conference since it was steps from my hotel (the Omni). Ordered the dealers choice iced decaf with coconut milk which was delicious (they say it tastes like a cinnamon roll and it does). Only bummer was that there was no seating! This is just an outdoor coffee stand. I plan to come back while I am in town and try some of the other specialty drinks - which include mint!

Aaron S.

Yelp
This place is great! Any time I come to San Diego near downtown I stop in for a fresh pour over. Really nice person running the coach and she made a delicious coffee.

Megan M.

Yelp
Nobody there when we try to show up and grab a cup of coffee at 10 o'clock on a Thursday morning.

Rafael A.

Yelp
Who would've thought that a tiny coffee cart could crank out such good coffee??? Not this Yelper, that's for sure. As my wife and children walked from one PACKED restaurant to another (cuz everything down in this part of San Diego is PACKED), we walked by this unassuming coffee stand. Needing my caffeine fix, I headed over. Boy! I only had a cold brew, but man, was it delicious. Just a little Oat milk to kill what little acidity there was in the cold brew and I was in coffee heaven. The employee tending the "bar" wasn't in the mood for being chatty the morning I stopped in, but, we're all allowed to have a bad day. I know mine started off that way, but got instantly better once I had my coffee.

Yelp
Always on the hunt for a quick cup of caffeine, and this spot was easy to get to on a Sunday morning downtown. Everything is a pour over, so quick might not be the right word, but good is. The coffee was rich and hot, which made me happy after a long night. The baristas weren't very chatty, almost seemed a bit off put that I was asking questions. Maybe they just needed another cup too to perk up a bit. Overall I was happy with the coffee, wished the vibes would have been a bit more engaging.

Alexander G.

Yelp
First time in San Diego and first coffee place I tried. Went with Dealers Choice and was pleasantly surprised. Some of the best cold brew I ever had, especially when I added some cardamom. Service was very friendly and reasonably quick. Ambiance was super chill: little cart on the street serving up some tasty caffiene. Highly recommend this gem when you're in the area.

Aditi S.

Yelp
Was in San Diego for a conference and stopped by for coffee since the other coffee shops were super busy. Such a cute cart that has pour over coffee. It was my first time trying this style and it tasted great! It does take some time to come out (~10 min if the stand is busy), but that's probably due to only one worker at the stand. Would love to come back!

Derek H.

Yelp
amazing cold brew. super cool cart. my barista Victoria was awesome, super friendly and made great coffee

Brittaney L.

Yelp
Love this spot! Their coffee is STRONG! Just how I like it!! I always get their coffee with mint leaves and I leave out the sugar. It's still sooooo good!! I find this spot super COVID friendly because it is outdoors and they have a nice bottle of hand sanitizer at the counter. Remember to wear your mask! The barista always wears theirs!

Diandra L.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this little coffee bar this morning on my trip to San Diego and loved it so much! It's not an actual brick and mortar, so just know when you are looking for it you're looking for a little cart on the sidewalk. Adorbale! I ordered a Guatemalan pour over and a sausage breakfast burrito. The coffee was very smooth, and for a pour over didn't take much time to make either. The breakfast burrito was also very tasty. I saw on their chalkboard that they also have a cold brew pour over which sounds INCREDIBLE. Must return for that while I'm here!

Jasmin G.

Yelp
Great little coffee cart. Quick, friendly service as well. I loved my cold brew and my friend loved her vanilla oat latte. It's rare that the actual taste of the coffee shines through but it really stood out in these drinks and it was delicious. It's perfect to grab and walk around downtown!

Alison M.

Yelp
This little coffee stand outside the Marriott at Gas Lamp District is awesome! It's great for grab and go if you're in the area and close enough to walk up or drive up. The barista is very efficient. They have some seriously good fresh pastries. I had a raspberry one and the the next day I had a strawberries and cream one. So yummy! The first day I chose The Turk which is an iced coffee drink with muddled mint and brown sugar and cardamum. Really good. I liked it. Next day I chose the dealers choice which is more pour over, served warm, with vanilla and sugar and cream. I like how the pour over is done at the cart right in front of you In these little white drip mugs into your to-go cup. It's pretty legit. This is a gem. Glad I found it. Try the pastries!

Chris R.

Yelp
Best thing about a coffee shop is when the individuals know how to brew coffee. The barista was on top of it. A one person shop, within a cart. The coffee was on point. The grind, combinations of ingredients, and roast where all well thought out. Pour over technique was proper and her brew time was on the dot. Flavor of both coffees wheee superb. Next time getting a pour over or a cold brew.

Curt F.

Yelp
I gave a 1 star because when I went there and after I paid for my coffee I was told the hot water was broken and would I like it cold coffee instead. She credit my order back afterwards.

Brett N.

Yelp
Why 5 stars? Because what more in life could you want over a walk-up pour over bar? --- --- --- Can we get these on every corner? There's a rolled ice cream place pretty much within every square mile now, so why not oversaturate the market with high-quality pour over carts? It was a rainy morning in San Diego and I was staying nearby. I picked my parents up at the nearby Omni and before starting a very long day of touristing. I knew I wanted to hit up Roast Coach before leaving SD, so I took this opportunity to do so. I parked on the side of the street, hopped out and placed my order. Within a few minutes, I was handed a cup of caffeine that provided me the energy to scale large mountains if I needed it. And it was as tasty and as smooth as could be, to boot. I did not try any of the treats, but the coffee alone seriously made me long for the day where the whole world is filled with many Roast Coach's!

Cassie N.

Yelp
Such an amazing small coffee stand I stumbled upon located steps from my hotel in the gas lamp district. I had a pour over that the barista made very slowly and carefully (which I highly appreciate) as some pour overs are such an art! Such amazing coffee highly recommend

Adam D.

Yelp
Fantastic. Great service, great coffee. What more can you ask for? If you want a really, really good cup of coffee without any hassle, and you want it with a smile and a nice bit of conversation, there is no better spot than this one. Also, the roasted beans were fantastic.

Jessica S.

Yelp
They are a simple stand located just outside a Greek restaurant in Downtown SD. Their featured item are their pour-overs since they even leave the used grounds inside the ceramic pour-over brewer on the bar as a display item. I wanted something quick, so the fact that they listed a few cold brews options piqued my interest. A small *Dealers Choice* (dark roast, cinnamon, vanilla bean, cream) for $3.50 made for a smooth, not extraordinarily heavy, and sprinkled with just the right amount of cinnamon coffee drink. Heaven! Not the strongest cold brew in my opinion but it did the job. They offer milk alternatives here namely coconut, soy, and almond. All drinks are served hot or cold. A perfect grab-and-go on an early morning stroll in downtown post bootcamp workout.

Jack M.

Yelp
Located outside right next to Meze Greek Fusion, this Roast Coach is making some terrific our overs. I had the young lady running the coach make me a Gaslamp Blend pour over. It was a medium bold coffee and certainly provided that good in between lightness and darkness. Its flavor was rich and satisfying but what most impressed me with this blend, was how smooth it was. It started easy and end with smooth kiss on the palate. Great stuff and I was just disappointed that I ordered a 12 oz and not the 16 oz. They young lady was quite nice and, although new to the Roast Coach, was very talented and multi-tasked well. Next time you are downtown, they definitely worth the stop if you have a hankering for some coffee.

Roxanne R.

Yelp
Great coffee cart that has ... wait for it... POUR OVERS!! I was pretty excited and it was even better to see the employee first thing in the morning filled with energy and excitement. The woman working the cart / bar is knowledgeable and had suggestions of what I might like based on taste preference. Great to go here for a quick on the run to go coffee.

Balaji K.

Yelp
Was a little sour - but smelled great. For having it black, I like it if the coffee is fresh and flavorful and ideally espresso - looking at the reviews, I tried but was not up to my palette and preference.

Jay K.

Yelp
Can't believe they have 4.7 stars. We ordered a vanilla latte but it tastes worse than McDonald's senior coffee. It literally tasted like a free hot coffee from Holiday Inn with one cream and lots of sugar. Nothing tasted like milk or vanilla. Sorry for being mean but for sure this doesn't worth $7.

Andre P.

Yelp
Little hard to find if you're looking carefully. She is on the sidewalk outside Meze. Pour overs are the name of the game here. It's hard to find a coffee shop that 1. Specializes in pour overs and 2. Does it well. I tried the Swaize (sp?) roast, nice smooth flavor light and enjoyable. Great cup of coffee for a very reasonable price. Keep it up and hope only for sunny days for you and your shop.

Colt J.

Yelp
I cannot wait to go back to this little gem on the cornerstone. The whole layout is a cute little parlor, which is situated outside on the lovely broad walk. Vanessa and I loved our stroll from the hotel to the location. I was blown away by the coffee selections. I enjoyed a beautiful beverage that had actual grounded mint in it. The baristas was an actual alchemist. Would turn lead into pure coffee again. Please visit this place.

Lakshmi G.

Yelp
I had a small break while at a conference at the SDCC. Needed a pick-me-up that wasn't Aramark coffee. Quick stroll and I found this lovely coffee cart. Lots of fresh ground pour-over options. I had the Mt. Soledad that was smooth, silky and rich. Definitely worth a quick trip. Look for the cart outside Meze Greek restaurant.

Trevor R.

Yelp
Great Coffee. Wow. The best coffee I've ever had. Definitely appreciate the care that they put on the coffee.

Keith H.

Yelp
Located a short walking distance form the convention center, Roast Coach Coffee Bar delivers all your java needs. Whenever I'm away from home, I often like to check out local coffee establishments. After seeing the great reviews for this stand, I knew I had to check it out. They offer various coffee products including pour-overs, espresso-based drinks, and cold brew. I liked the Americano that I tried during my first visit, and I really enjoyed one of their cold brew options (the Turk). The mixture of mint, cardamom, cream, and sugar gave a refreshing twist to your standard, potent cold brew. This shop also offers gluten-free baked goods, though I did not sample them during my visits. It's definitely worth a visit, especially if you are attending a meeting at the convention center.

Chaz P.

Yelp
We chose to go to this walk up coffee bar before departing from San Diego to Los Angeles! It's pretty cool that it's simply a coffee station on the side of the street! I had the organic Gaslamp Pour-over which is a medium bodied coffee! The taste was very nice and left a residual thought of San Diego on my pallet! Can not wait to come back!

Sarah V.

Yelp
Dark Coffee pour over is so smooth, super friendly staff, banana walnut muffin is bomb. If I could, I'd push it to right outside my house

Justin A.

Yelp
Roast Coach is a cute little coffee bar that specializes in pour over coffee. I enjoyed stumbling on this place and supporting a local business over a chain store. Their pour over was really good. I had this a few times when I was downtown for a meeting. Nice spot, a must go if you're in the gaslamp.

Rachel S.

Yelp
So glad to have found this gem while at a work conference this week. Small but mighty cart! They have tons of pour over and other coffee creations. I tried the dealers choice, the Turk, and their breakfast sandwich and granola bar. Everything was fantastic! Plus, the pricing is great. Far superior in taste to the chains surrounding it. If I find myself back in Gaslamp, I'll be back.

Ceo C.

Yelp
Roast Coach coffee bar is one of a few and yet the best coffee cart where you can get some amazing pour over coffees, espresso drinks and some yummy cold brew coffees. They offer different variety of cold brew concoctions, such as Dealers Choice(it's heaven), The Turk where they muddle fresh mint to it, and Southern Hospitality which also has some muddled mint with added brown sugar. They also offer different variety of pour over coffee selections, you can either order 'light roast', 'medium roast' or keep it classy with their 'dark roast beans'. If you're looking for some amazing coffee that you'll remember all the time and get addicted to it, then look no further, Roast Coach will have your back.

Kimberly W.

Yelp
Walked right by it at first because I didn't realize it was a no frills coffee stall. Right next to Mezze restaurant. Interesting espresso options. I got a Turkish coffee with cardamom and mint. It's was not bad. I was worried the mint might be too overpowering, but it was subtle. I couldn't taste the cardamom. Reason for three stars is primarily because the person making the coffee was somewhat surly and disinterested. Not engaging at all. Plus, it sure would have been nice to have some pastry options. But that's primarily my fault for not researching deeply enough to figure out this was just a little stall.

Lu T.

Yelp
This one person operated pour over coffee shop offers the BEST coffee available in San Diego. I was immediately curious with the 5 star reviews and it is worth it. Each coffee is made to order and you wait a few minutes while your high quality pour over is made. They offer a nice selection and items are ground and made to order. This place is tiny, outdoors and takes a lot of pride in their high quality coffee and super friendly service. I can not recommend this place enough!

Johnny N.

Yelp
Espresso shot was nice and bold. Had a hint of sourness. Wish it was a little bit smoother but overall decent.

Jessica M.

Yelp
I was in San Diego for a conference and wanted to try a local coffee shop. I really like a good coffee and this did not disappoint. The service was awesome and not pretentious at all about my pour over coffee questions. I also had a breakfast burrito, which was huge and delicious. I highly recommend this little coffee stand.

Carlos T.

Yelp
If you love coffee and are visiting the Gaslamp this is a must stop! This is one of those coffee bars you wish you had at home. There is a variety of whole bean options to choose from varying from light to a dark roast. Upon selection of your bean, they freshly grind it to the perfect grade for the best pour over on this side of the Mississippi River. Allison is very patient and knowledgeable about the products she serves.
