Roast To Go

Went around 8 pm to get some food from the market. This was one of the stores open and the tacos looked promising. However the tacos were either flavorless and extremely salty. The beef was edible at best and don’t even bother getting the marinated pork or chicken. They also just use prepackaged corn tortillas which is fine but also tastes horrible.

Ordered two tacos for $13. Birria and beef cheek. The service was quick but the tacos were flavorless. The beef cheek is supposed to be a little fatty, but this was pure fat and I couldn't eat it. My beef cheek taco also came flavored with a beard hair in it.

This was the start of my taco adventure and it did not disappoint. Had the chiCharon taco, with a spicy salsa. For $6 you get 2 tacos worth of food so i thinks good value. The taste was quite good too, i really enjoyed it.

Roast To Go is the longest operating food vendor inside the grand central market in downtown Los Angeles. You guys have to come check it out for yourselves if you are nearby or visiting from out of town and see why they have been there for so long. They put a lot of work into their delicious food and have carnitas, birria, chicken, cow tongue, tripe and can make you a combination plate with tacos and rice and beans. The owner is such a sweet person and makes sure you are well fed.

Magic Tacos = large taco that you can make into 2 tacos because they give you an extra tortilla. I had the carnitas this time but the chicken or asada are better. If you want carnitas, pay more and go a few shops down to Villa Moreliana's that specializes in pork. If you want a good deal this works ok. Note the tacos are now $6 each.... Ouch!

Maybe they've changed or maybe the tacos are not quite as good as I remember, but I'm less a fan of this place now after my most recent visit. Their tacos are very popular, and they really are MASSIVE, but the fact that the meat-toppings ratio was so skewed towards not particularly moist meat meant the taco wasn't all that flavorful and sort of dry. Their value also used to be a big draw but now each taco is 5 bucks. Again, each taco is massive, to their credit. Service is also pretty quick. But ultimately next time I'll try something else or try a different taco counter.

Through the years, I’ve photographed many a ‘ROAST TO GO’ Servers. They’ve always been helpful & friendly. Today (05/31/2022), there were two Servers tending orders. One (Agusto, c👀 foto) has been working their not too long. Agusto took my order and did a Gr8 job. His Co-Worker, Lulu (c👀 fotos) was there also. Lulu is the only ORIGINAL remaining “ROAST TO GO” Server. I’ve known her since she began working there as a teenager. Through the years, all the people that have worked there skillfully fix your order right before your very ay 👁👁’s‼️ “OK, you think, “So what about the food” you ask. So I’ll tell’ya: FINGER LICKEN’GOOD😍 Thanks👍🏽😎👍🏽

I was very confused when my husband and I ordered from here. The older guy behind the counter was super rude. We both ordered burritos and I noticed he took out a bunch of tortillas and they weren’t heated up. I thought it was weird but didn’t say anything because I thought maybe they were heated and I didn’t notice. (When I took the first bite I noticed I was not wrong, straight out of the pack). My husband ordered his burrito and then added a taco and the guy just put his hand up to shut him up because he was walking away. I thought maybe the customer service is bad but the food will be good. Wrong. The rice was hard and the insides were cold mixed with the hard uncooked tortilla. I cannot believe they have the audacity to sell tacos for $6 and Burritos for $14. What a waste of money.

4++ Mexican food stand located in the center area of the Grand Central Market of DTLA. I believe it's been here for a long time (it says 1952 on the sign/menu, but not sure if they been at this location that entire time). They have the staples like tacos, burritos, etc. at very reasonable prices. Since it is located in the Grand Central Market, depending on the time of day the vibe of area could be chill or super busy/ frenetic. I came here after work and close to closing time so it wasn't super busy. I ordered the lamb taco. At first, it may look like the price of the tacos are pretty high, but they seriously eat like 3-4 large tacos. I couldn't even finish mine. The taco itself was very tasty. I usually wouldn't go for the lamb as my first choice, but I have to admit I was following the suggestion of an LA Times list. I feel like I've been here before - I used to work in the area a looong time ago and would frequent the Grand Central Market for lunch. But I guess I wasn't looking at the name back then. Just a great place to get delicious Mexican food at reasonable prices and great, quick service.

We haven't been here for a long while, so we both randomly thought, "you know what? Am craving on a 2 pounder burrito " Don't take us too seriously cause we don't weigh it and so we are not giving you accuracy. It's a saying... they are filling, big. They are located inside the Grand Central Market and they do have a parking garage. Younger me, remembers this place used to offer free parking with validation and within time limits. Now as of November 2024, first 90 minutes is $5, every 15 minutes $2. No Validation required. On my visit, it was my first time using the accessibility elevator for my baby stroller (perfect time to post a picture of that cause it looked cool, sorry I didn't take picture T-T) Inside the market, which back then used to be an actual Farmers Market, a butcher stand, many fruit and vegetables stands, dry goods and hot cooked meals. Now its just restaurants. You will still find one fruit and vegetables stand. So in the middle of all the restaurants you'll find Roast to Go and What I can say, meats as so flavorful. They have tacos, burritos, plates, you name it, they got them. We have not encountered no problem with service, they were helpful, friendly and quick. We definitely loved our Burritos and our Huge Jamaicas. We had a beautiful Date Night Dinner.

Roast to Go in the Grand Central Market food hall offers very fresh, very tasty Mexican staples - burritos, tacos, and combination plates - at a reasonable price served in a very, very casual ambiance with all dishes served 'to go'. It's easy for a gringo like me to feel a little overwhelmed by the environment and the menu, but the folks behind the counter were very patient with me and happy to explain the menu.. and I didn't need to demonstrate my high school-competency foreign language skills. I opted for the "Two Giant Tacos" combination plate ($18) -- one carnitas (or, "shredded roasted pork"); one al pastor (or, "thinly sliced grilled pork") -- and topped with cilantro and salsa in flour tortillas and served with a generous portion of black beans and rice. YUM! Both varieties of pork were perfectly seasoned and the portion size was very filling. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area! Pro Tip: The Grand Central Market offers reasonably-priced parking in the adjacent garage at (308 South Hill Street). Parking in the garage is $5 for the first 90 minutes and $2 for each additional 15 minutes, with a maximum daily rate of $25. There's also plenty of on-street parking on Broadway and Hill Street. All street meters are free Monday through Saturday after 8pm and all day on Sunday.

As busy as this Saturday afternoon was, there was only one person ahead of me. I was intrigued by the 3 chicken taquitos combo plate for $17ish, but ended up with the 3 chicken crunchy tacos combo plate for the same price because they were out of taquitos. I was helped quickly and was accommodating to me asking for double rice, no beans. I paid cash, and it came out to $19 something with tax. The combo plate originally comes with rice, beans, salad, and your choice of entree w/ mild or hot salsa, which I think is a great combo price for the amount of food at this market. Overall, authentic and the food I ended up liking the best out of the different restaurants I tried during my time here.

Best. Lengua. Taco. In my life. Wow! It was a ton of lengua served with four corn tortillas. A whole meal for $6? Better than all the taco places we visited on a taco tour in Puerta Vallarta. In Grand Central Market which made it an awesome overall experience. Will be back to try the beef cheek taco

Amazing taco. I just wanted to try one thing as I was walking down the aisle and I got a chicken taco. So much meat! They give extra tortillas so you basically get two tacos for the price of one. Super cool dudes behind the counter and I can't even tell you how great that chicken taco was. My wife usually doesn't like chicken but she loved it. The chicken is like stewed with sauce and works great with the cilantro and salsa. Amazing!

Unfortunately, the fish tacos were NOT fresh in the least. In fact the fish was so HARD to chew, we were tired at the end. We were so hungry after walking about DTLA, when choosing eats at the Grand Central Market, we ate those Roast-To-Go horrible fish tacos anyway. On my last taco, I picked out the vegetables and made a new taco out of it from the vegetables only. After I was done, there was only a tortilla with strictly day-old hard fish on it. So I simply walked up to their counter top and placed the paper plate on the counter top. I made a statement - "NEVER AGAIN!" I was close to making a very loud complaint to them directly in Spanish then English.

Came here for a quick snack before dinner and got a taco each. I got their Carne Asada Taco and these tacos were massive and PACKED with meat. These tacos were probably double or even triple the size of some taco stands. They also give you extra tortilla on the side so that you can make another taco for the meat you drop on the plate when you eat which will definitely happen. There's no clean way to eat this taco and absolutely no way you can eat this without spilling half your taco meat on to the meat because that's just how much they put on. On top of the taco they add onions, cilantro and hot salsa of your choice. This spot is right in the middle of Grand Central Market, there are a lot of taco spots but this was definitely one of the good ones!

Comically large fish tacos and the hot salsa was the perfect amount of spice. Maybe not the best Grand Central Market has to offer, but I had worked up quite an appetite and was very satisfied.

Girls be careful coming to this place alone, I was just sexual harrased by one of the employees, I ended throwing the food and my drink at him because I was so upset and embarrassed for his vulgar and sexual comments towards me.

2 minute read: I've been a Roast To Go Customer forever. I've seen the Server's Turnover rate go up and down. One Server (LULU) has been there for many many years. In my photos, she the gal with her blond hair done up. One of my photos has the current charge for a two-taco combo. Their menu is not extensive but big enough to offer many goodies. If you haven't tried their food, you're in for a surprise. Food is hot, delicious, generous, and filling. You gotta go, if you are near Hill or Broadway at 2nd Street. There is paid parking in the building but you may get lucky and find street parking. When I was there (08/01/2022) yesterday, as soon as I drove up I was right there (Hill Street entrance) where Angels Flight is right across the street, BEHOLD.... THERE WAS AN EMPTY METERED PARKING SPACE, to which I conveniently steered my car and parked. My wife had their combo special: One Buche Taco, One Carne Asada Taco, Beans, Rice, and a drink. I had a Carnitas Burrito that could have fed two people. SERIOUSLY. I'm going back. Why stop being their most loyal customer for the last 38 years? SERIOUSLY, no lie.

This was our first time at Grand Central market and decided to start our journey at Roast to go. We decided on the chivo (goat) and carne asada (grilled steak) tacos, but they had tons of options! These tacos were huge! They goat was super tender and savory- and I am not a goat lover. The asada was tender and also very tasty. We got them fully dressed and were glad we did. Pretty

Affordable tacos compared to some of the other restaurants in the market place. I ordered two tacos (beef birria and al pastor) and paid just over $10. The tacos are very generous with juicy meat. They double the tortillas and also give you extras which helps because the sauce makes them pretty much fall apart. The birria was just ok for me and I thought that the al pastor was better. This was a very rich meal and I definitely had food coma afterwards.

Should have read the reviews before coming here. The customer service was horrendous. The fact that the food was poorly made and the cashier had the audacity to be rude when called out over rude service. I would recommend the stand right next door. They are friendly, customer service, fresher food.

Honestly this legacy vendor inside grand central market should be number one for Mexican food on your list. Everything is made fresh every single day and they serve you a descent portion of food. You won't leave here hungry. The food is home made style and is cooked with lots of love and seasoned well. This place been in GCM for a long time and I can see why.

Solid old school taqueria (since 1952) inside the Grand Central Market. There are so may food options and vendors to choose from and I couldn't decide where to go to grab a quickie while Wifey was waiting in line at Eggslut. I slowly gravitated over here as the smell of the pork, beef and other delicious cuts of meats permeated in the air like a lingering meat perfume that would make Karen, the vegan, gag and have dry heaves. It was something very familiar similar to the taquerias in the Mission district. Besides, I was very impressed by the auntie chopping those wonderful cuts of meats behind the counter. It was mesmerizing to see and I think she put a spell on me and I was in a trance. Tacos only cost $3.50, but you get a large plate of taco that is packed with meat. While I patiently waited in line and checking the menu, I decided to go for a plate of lengua. Yeah, the tongue....the best cut of meat, IMHO. If it's prepared right, it's a tender, meaty, juicy, delicious slab of organ that is very underrated. I'd rather eat this everyday than anything from McDonald's, Burger King or Taco Bell. She asked me if I wanted everything on it and of course I had to say yes. I witnessed her create the plate that started with two layers of tortilla then topped with a generous scoop of lengua and sprinkled chopped cilantro, and onions with chili verde sauce and two cuts of lime and it was ready. It is one of the bigger pieces of taco I've ever had. Let me rephrase that. It is the biggest taco plate I've ever had. I brought it over to the Wifey and first bite was everything that i expected. A wonderful fiesta explosion in my mouth ensued and my inner soul was dancing the salsa.

I bought food from here. Returned and asked the guy for one napkin. And he rudely said no. I smiled and couldn't believe what he said. And he repeated. No. I told him I just bought food. He still said no. This just happened. So my advice is have your crew be a little more nice to everyday normal working people.

This is one of the businesses in Grand Central Market and I visited at dinner time on Sunday. It had a short line, but it seemed to take a while. When we finally got to the counter, we tried to order two Combo 2's and two tacos, no combo, but due to miscommunication/language barrier, we were having a very tough time getting what we wanted. We ended up with two Combo 2's (so four big tacos) and they were good! They chopped the lengua right in front of us, but there were still some larger pieces, which I would've preferred chopped a bit smaller. Again, we weren't able to get across to chop it finer. Overall, pretty good, big tacos.

Service is sooo rude!!! The cooks are not very friendly!!!!!!! Never again!!!! Don't spend your money there!!!

Excellent, friendly, and most importantly, efficient customer service. I place a high value on cs as much as the quality vs. quantity of the food. The value was decent comparable to Ana Marie. $4.50 for each big taco w/ onions, cilantro, salsa, huge jalapeño, limes. I tried here after I did not want to wait in line at Ana Marie next door. (I was starving) So, I went on Tuesday during lunchtime. Tried the carnitas taco and the al pastor/pork (?) taco. I liked the al pastor meat tender and juicy. Everyone seems to rave about the carnitas taco, but I thought it was a bit too greasy for me. The grease soaked right thru the two flour tortillas! They accept credit cards right now. Street parking and building parking, I think. I might try the burrito next time, maybe...

Can I give zero stars? Just waited 30mins in line for the most expensive meal that tasted terrible and was insanely hard to eat. See attached photo of my burrito that fell apart instantly. I forgot to take a pic of my wife's taco combo that was also very difficult to consume. Will never come back.

I ordered the Beef Cheek taco and the Trompa (pig nose)? The Trompa was delicious but the Beef Cheek taco, so Bomb! Fatty but so flavorful and addicting. Muy bueno! At $8, great value! I would come all the way back here for this. The woman behind the counter who waited on me was really chill which made the experience even better. Good vibes at this counter. I'll definitely come back here and try some other menu items.

Hello Yelp! I really enjoyed this establishment. The attention to tradition, authenticity, and flavor is very impressive and heart warming. This traditional hispanic-mexican cuisine with an emphasis on street food style and small plates, although they also have entree sized combos, is muy sabrosa. The food all looks absolutely delicious in beautiful looking and aromatic sauces. They have a huge variety of proteins to choose from such as carne asada, braised pork, birria, cabeza, lengua, chicken etc. The spanish rice and frijoles are spiced very nicely and fresh. Everything can be garnished with cilantro onions creme and guac for additional layers of flavor. I had the combo 2 with 2 legua tacos, rice and beans and everything was delicious! The tacos were huge and stuffed to overflow with meat. The meat was chunky, so tender and beautifully flavored. The sauce the lengua stews in can serve as a broth for any soup or gravy by itself. I love love love a good gravy. I can't emphasize how satisfying it is to see the cook filling those amazing corn tortillas with huge chunks of tongue (taste buds still attached) and dripping with broth. The tortilla holds up well and does not break apart. This is a great quality for a fresh corn tortilla. If you are a fan of authentic mexican food with a high emphasis on savory flavor where you can taste the centuries of tradition, this is a place for you to check out! Enjoy, Brandon

This is my second time writing this review cause they removed me the first time this place is utterly disgusting like the Mexican guy at the front is super rude and I asked him for a side of onion and he just scoffed and said no so there is that but let's get to the food omg it was like eating food in jail like I ordered fish asada and pollo I mean 18 dollars for 3 tacos I think they just give you big portions but the overall flavor is trash af. The fish was literally soggy it's red snapper btw which who uses that normally it's fried fish and the pollo was literally shredded chicken in some sauce it had a bone in it and the asada was more like beef overall this place lies to you cause this ain't Mexican food I think these taco places like I said pack the portions but leave out the flavor there are a couple places like this Ana Marie does the same the ambiance was like poopin there was a line out the door which all these places have but the thing I can't stand is the food just sitting in the containers with no lid it's like it's being recycled overall very gross I mean the red sauce was spicy that's a plus

$9 seems pricey for a burrito, but oh my gosh the burritos are HUGE! Our party of four got four, but we should have gotten two and split them. They were literally bursting at the tortilla seams. We got carnitas, chicken, and bean and cheese--all were delicious. I like my refried beans more mashed and thicker than these, but still, not bad. The line can be long here because some people stop and eat at the counter. Also, they ran out of carnitas right after us.

Quality and quantity. This vendor stands out for selling their meats by weight as well as serving the usual offerings. Much like the stall close to them, Tacos Tumbras y Tomas, you have a variety of taco and burrito options with a choice of meat. Also like them, the serving size is huge. Gorditas, hard shell tacos, and a few other options are available. The meats are numerous and can easily be seen on their signage. Items include carnitas, lengua, buche, whole/half chicken, shredded chicken and beef, trompas, and cabeza. So far, I've been here twice and I plan on returning. The first time I ordered a burrito with everything (meat, rice, beans, crema, guacamole, cilantro, onion, salsa). It's really hefty; I weighed it at home and it came out to be over 2 pounds! I got it with the chicken. I don't really remember how it tastes since I only had one bite (it was for my friend) but I remember it being pleasantly mild (mild salsa) and the bite was filled with every element of the burrito. Today I just ordered meat. They offer you tortillas and you can get cups of the salsa bar/condiments. Essentially it's a build your own taco type situation. I ordered the buche (hog maw, basically the porcine version of tripe), lengua (tongue) and birria (de chivo, goat). The buche largely tasted like it's marinade which was a bit roasty and very meaty. The main attraction is the mouthfeel: buttery and gelatinous but without the chew of tripe. The tongue is soft (not mushy) and tastes like tongue. I suppose mildly livery is a good descriptor. The birria is mild tasting. Very meaty without a whole lot of alteration or embellishment from the seasonings. It's got the notably gamey goat taste (despite the sign saying lamb) but isn't overpowering. Tacos Tumbras y Tomas's birria is more goaty, if that makes sense, for a point of reference.

Small old school Latin dishes served hot and deliciously appetizing. This feels and taste like a greasy spoon, but it is o'so good when your hungry and need to be filled up. Portions are large and of good value. Salsas are made with care.

The great thing about Grand Central Market is that there's a bunch of Mexican food options in a highly concentrated location. Having beaten my favorite two Mexican spots to death, I figured I'd try something new. Passed by here and noticed they had a lot of different meat options, so I was in the mood for a fried fish burrito (but I did skip the beans). For $9 flat (that's right, no tax!), you get a pretty damn huge burrito stuffed with all the usual fixings (salsa, cilantro/onion, guacamole, etc.). It was definitely enough to hold me over two meals as I wasn't trying to finish that beast. Wasn't the best burrito I've ever had, but solid enough and made me happy. Ordering can be a bit helter skelter if you haven't been there before. Just get in line, someone will free up and they'll either call you over or you just head on over there. I don't think Roast To Go will replace my top two spots, but it was nice to be able to try to a different option without having to go elsewhere.

Being a longtime visitor to Los Angeles, we have often gone to the Grand Central Market to get our Mexican street food fix. But, recent trips to the GCM, we've seen the market become more hip and upscale as many of the authentic Mexican food stalls have moved out. Roast To Go is a mainstay in the GCM having established itself in 1952. The menu is easy to read, service is friendly, portions are very generous and the flavors are outstanding. They feature Mexican-style roasted beef, pork, fish and chicken. Each meat can be made into tacos, burritos, plates or specialties (gorditas, tostadas, tortas, sopes or flautas). Roast-To-Go also sells their roasted meats by the pound. In addition, they have beverages to complement your meal. Our usual order is a trompa (pork snout) burrito and 2 lengua (tongue)tacos to share between us. There are 7 different cooked-styles of meats to choose from and they have 2 types of salsa, green or red, to choose from. For the two of us, we only spent $15 and we were stuffed with the delicious, tender and unctuous meats. Our server had a great smile and was sort of soft spoken. I think he was surprised to see us Asians ordering trompa (pork snout) because he double checked with my husband about our order. He generously filled our burrito and tacos and slathered the salsa onto our selections. We bought a couple of cups of horchata and found a seat at one of the many tables on the main dining floor. Luckily we did get the horchata as the salsas were really spicy (spicier than we remembered) so we needed to "put out the fire" in our mouths. We'll be back for more...with hope, very soon!

Very rarely will I complain about any restaurants I go to. The lady and young kid at the counter seemed nice enough in the beginning. I ordered a birria burrito and large coke with no ice. I ordered a large drink since it's nearly impossible for me to eat food without a drink because of my GERD complications. After paying $20 for my burrito and drink, I left. Soon after, I realized he gave me a large horchata with my burrito. No problem, I'll go back to the counter and surely he'll understand. Wrong. I was told by the kid that I had originally ordered horchata and that I would have to pay another $5 for the new drink. I've never ordered horchata in my life and I'm lactose intolerant. The kid calls up the older lady and they both agree that I would have to pay full price for a new drink. Both of these people would then gang up on me and say I'm trying to rip them off. Shady business practice by these two, but it's not worth my sanity to fight with two scam artists over $5. They seemed great in the beginning!

Roast to Go is a fantastic option at the Grand Central Market, especially when it's crazy busy at all the other stands. The line moves quickly because there are plenty of counter guys and they work fast. We went with the oversized, juicy, delicious gordita (a thick masa taco, basically) stuffed with moist carnitas, tomatoes, shredded lettuce and I don't know what else. It was a drippy, messy, savory delight with a beautiful fresh roasted jalapeño on the side. Let them know how spicy you want your meal to be. And aside from being absolutely delicious, it was only $5. No tax added and you get a ton of fresh, terrific food. They also have aguas frescas, too, and the tamarindo is excellent.

The customer service is horrible the guy that was here 1/23/23 at 4:08 pm was super rude gave me a attitude.I order a taco of carnitas plain no onion or cilantro and they add that. The taco was super grassy it was like if they poured a tablespoon of oil don't waste your money here the food super grassy .

First time checking out Grand Central Market in LA and it's what I expected, busy. Nonetheless, I was excited to try something new. While waiting for an order, got to order two tacos: chicken and carne asada. Each taco sells for $3.50 and I saw why. All protein is fresh and they stuff each taco with enough protein, some lettuce, topped off with green sauce. Tomato and other toppings are extra. Great service by the way.

OMG... they are over stuffed food... which means you will be over stuffed. I had the lengua burrito for lunch and it kept me full till well past dinner time. I also ordered the pork skin (Chicharrón)... note the chicharrones are stewed and not deep fried. Its tender and a wee bit spicy. Its not just oversized, it's pretty good food. Staff is friendly and helpful... the only problem is finding sitting space.

I'll confess that if I'm feeling like tacos and I'm in Grand Central Market there's really no debate as to whether or not I'm going to Tacos Tumbras a Tomas (4 Stars). Not wanting to get stuck in a habit, I went to the other two comparable taco shops in GCM one night after the other, and below is a heads up review. In short, stick with Tacos Tumbras a Tomas. Ana Maria's v. Roast To Go Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? Ana Maria's and Roast to Go have concepts that are virtually identical to Tacos Tumbras a Tomas, with the notable difference being that depending on when you show up, you're likely to find much shorter lines at Ana Maria's or Roast To Go. This is probably on account of the slightly less aesthetic atmosphere, but at the end of the day service is lightning fast and credit cards are accepted by both. Ana Maria's: Star (1) Roast To Go: Star (1) Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Both Ana Maria's and Roast To Go dish up massive tacos for $4.00. While that might sound crazy compared to the $1.50 you'll spend at a nearby taco truck, the portions really do offset the cost. Of note is that Tacos Tumbras a Tomas dishes up tacos of same size for $0.50 cheaper. Ana Maria's: Star (2) Roast To Go: Star (2) Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? It's here that the two concepts diverted slightly, and in this case it was in favor of Roast To Go. I'm pretty sure neither of these spots use freshly made tortillas (I saw them taking them out of the bag at Ana Maria's), but the tortillas were definitely better at Roast To Go. From there, the meats also seemed fresher and less overcooked at Roast To Go, and while the salsas and other peripherals were comparable, the spicy salsa in particular at Roast To Go was a trip that I enjoyed slightly more than that at Ana Maria's. Ana Maria's: No Stars (2) Roast To Go: Single Star (3) Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? Both of these spots in my mind serve 'meh' tacos, with Roast To Go dishing up a product that's slightly superior. Even so, there's a reason that Tacos Tumbras a Tomas has such longer lines, and that's because they're the rightful go-to for tacos in Grand Central Market. It was my first time visiting Grand Central Market. I was looking forward to getting some delicious tacos. Roast-to-Go seemed to have a short line. The servers couldn't speak English. It took a while for them to understand that I wanted Combo #2 two asada tacos, rice, and beans. $15.50 plus tax. When I started eating, I realized that the food was cold. Also, they didn't give me any guacamole or sour cream as the menu said I should get with the combo. Then, the meat didn't have any flavor. They didn't ask me whether I wanted the green salsa or red salsa. They just gave me green salsa. The rice was hard or barely cooked. I was pretty disappointed. What's worse? I ate one taco and took home the other taco for my mom. We both had diarrhea multiple times half a day later. Since my mom also ate the taco, I knew I got sick due to the food I had here.

I've been coming here for years, this is the first time I've ever had bad service, and it was the worst I've had anywhere in the last several years. Tried ordering in both English snd Spanish. Guy looked at me like I was an idiot the entire time, gave me attitude when my friend asked for extra sauce, and turned into a complete jerk over an extra fork. A Latino customer tried to intervene on my behalf and explain what I wanted, the guy decided to carry on a conversation with him instead of me. Everyone has a bad day, but this guy was straight up nasty. Won't be back.

Avoid this place because they are running a shady business as they are ripping off the tourists. They charged a fish taco ($5.50) and a small bag of chips with guacamole for a total of $15.00. Their receipts don't separate any items sold, taxes or tips. IRS and city tax department should totally audit this scammer.

Muy bien! With so many options in Grand Central Market, Roast To Go is a fantastic option if you're in the mood for some Mexican food. There's another Mexican spot right next door and this place was more crowded when I went so I decided to stick with Roast To Go. Prices are pretty much identical between the two so it was a coin flip for me. I got a steak torta ($7) and it was delicious! They make anything you want right in front of you so you know exactly what you're getting. Anything you don't want, just tell them. As usual, the torta came with the usual ingredients and I loved the bread--it was really soft. Be careful though, if you ask for spicy, it's pretty damn spicy. Lucky I got a large horchata ($3) to cool my taste buds. Personally, a $7 torta is a tad on the expensive side. I don't think I ever paid that much for one but you don't really have an option in Grand Central Market. There was only one other Mexican place that I saw and they are right next door. Good thing the torta was tasty. You get what you pay for!

Don't hate her. Just because she fired you doesn't mean you can start hating on her. Haters will only back her up. The food was delicious, and I'm happy to have traveled back to California just to try it. Keep up the good work!

Service was horrible here, the guy taking my order seemed bothered by us. I do not recommend this place.

This place is located in Grand Central Market. You can find parking either on the street or there's a paid parking structure next to the building. I ordered the chicken flautas ($7.75), which comes with rolled chicken taquito topped with lettuce, salsa and sour cream and a side of lemon wedge. The chicken was greatly lacking flavor from the spices it seemed to have been marinated with. It was also very dry, which it needed the salsa to dampen the taste palette. This place could be a hit or miss for many, but I just didn't feel like the chicken flautas was worth it. This would be a one-time try for me.

Ordered large carne asada and shredded chicken tacos $4 each. It's definitely worth the price for the serving you get. Shredded chicken was my favorite, I don't know how long they cook their chicken for but they were so tender, flavorful. The carne asada was good but it was too greasy for me. Since they give really big serving of the meat, it was too much for me but hey everyone is different and you might like it. Overall, would come back and maybe order small tacos rather than their large.

The worst tacos of my life! I had pastor and asada and they tasted nothing like it. Meat quality is horrible. 15$ plate in the trash they don't do refunds. I'm not sure how they are still in business. Wow!
