Rob's Of Brooklyn - Review - Sunset Park - New York - The Infatuation

"Rob's of Brooklyn, a Bath Beach spot we love for their classic slices and ’90s sensibilities (including a huge Last Supper-themed mural with Tupac and Super Mario), has a second pizzeria in Sunset Park. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Will Hartman

Awesome! Excellent! It’s so hard to believe anyone could give it 1 star. One reviewer contradicted himself too, saying it was the best slice, and second time was cold and owner would make it up to him if he came in person, but didn’t want to come in. I truly think this is the best pizza from 7th avenue and above in Sunset. Maybe the best in Sunset, but there are a few more i need to try first.

I had no idea Robs was so close to me as it is on a street I rarely walk on. I waited for a cold wet day to enjoy a beer and my Eggplant parmigiana. The place had a steady flow with eager take out diners. The food tasted great. The place was very clean. Not overly friendly, the staff was efficient and thorough. Definitely going to show up again.

Google
Cute Pizza shop, staff are very polite and on top of their customer service game. Unfortunately, the pizza is alright but garlic knots are drenched in oil making them impossible to eat. I used about 6 napkins to absorb the oil and there was still so much left in the garlic knot.

Been waiting more than a decade for an elite pizza place in Sunset Park, and it has finally arrived. Thank you, Rob’s of Brooklyn. Highly recommend the Spicy Vodka Pepperoni Square, but the classic slices also deliver. The crusts are crispy and chewy, the perfect balance, and the sauce brightens everything it touches. There’s still a lot on the menu that I have not tried (looking at you, Mushroom White Truffle) but I will eat it all very soon.

Google
Consistently very good pizza - thin & tasty. The only drawback is to watch out if the reheated slice stays in the oven too long. The hard working staff can get busy with the influx of activity.

It’s new but has one of the best pizza I have ever eaten in NYC! It’s so flavorful and has a very nice thin crust . I remember back in the day when there used to be another pizza shop here they also sold amazing pizza as well! Glad to see the tradition still going strong.

Google
This is it; this is the New York slice you have been looking for. Sauce, not too sweet. Crust? Perfect. This will become one of "the" spots for the perfect slice of New York pizza. I've only tried a regular cheese slice and I can tell you that I will absolutely be back for more. 10/10

Google
Robs new location in Sunset Park. Very good pizza. Great blend of cheese and sauce and many variety of pizza offerings. They have pasta dishes and sandwiches too. This is the hot new pizzeria in the area. Definitely stop by and give this place a try

Yelp
A valuable addition to the neighborhood. My girlfriend and I have tried a decent variety of pizzas, from the plain cheese to Grandmas and Grandpas and Margheritas, Sicilians and the Bianca... We've gotten slices and whole pies. Garlic knots and zeppole. Last week we ordered eggplant and chicken parm dinners. It's always good. We order from other pizzerias less often, because Rob's is better. Grab a slice and sit in the park.

Yelp
A Friday night surprise box pick up from TGTG ($5.43). I arrived at 9:38 and a few warm boxes have been prepackaged on the countertop as the staff were thoroughly cleaning/ clearing down. They weren't too hot as I believe they know that some people (like me) would be reheating them the next day. The strong smell wafting through the cardboard box and walking in Sunset park on a busy Summer Friday night should be a moment shared. The square slice was tried the night of and the tomato/ salt was quite intense. The morning after the white mushroom was unique with a sesame crust and bruchetta one was also intense. Quality ingredients were clearly used to justify roughly $5 ea slice, thin, crispy crust. Chef's kiss.

Yelp
This place just opened not too long ago and I was eager to try it. I ordered the Eggplant Parmigiana Hero and it was delicious. The eggplant was crispy and the cheese was cheesy. The sauce was quite distinct in that I could really taste the fresh herbs. Everything about this Hero was great. All it was missing was a cape (LOL). I will definitely visit this place again. Great addition to Sunset Park :)

Yelp
I feel extremely lucky to live nearby a nice slice shop. I think the location is strategic, right at the mouth of the Sunset Park and the pool house. I'm anticipating lots of swimsuited kids running across the street for pizza and swimming during the summer. Nonetheless, I'm glad I got in here before summer to sample the product. Plain slice served inside of Rob's is chef's kiss. Nicely salty, great tomato sauce, piping hot so much that the roof of my mouth started sloughing off cuz I was too impatient. Of all the slices, I think the plain, mushroom truffle, tomato, square and grandma slices are my favorite. I appreciate the touch of sesame seed on certain crusts, a distinguishing factor and nutty savoriness from the non seeded crusts. Wings were great though the ranch is more of a thick dip than a runny dressing (not a bad thing). Slices I didn't care too much for were the bbq chicken and buffalo chicken--I prefer meatless slices, more NY stuff--but we're still good and probably better than California Pizza Kitchen. Las thing to note, this place is on the Too Good To Go app if you find yourself wanting to try an assortment of slices and are available to drop in at 9:40PM. Otherwise, they do offer alcoholic beverages, hoagies, garlic knots, and other great items.

Yelp
Fantastic new Italian spot in sunset park. This is more of a take away spot than sit down as there aren't any tables, only bar seating. I will definitely be coming back for more. My bf ordered two slices- the spicy vodka pepperoni and the margherita. The spicy vodka pepperoni slice was pretty solid. I think it needed to be warmed up more and was a bit sweet (due to the honey), but the pepperoni cups had a great snap to them and the crust was crispy and airy. My bf said the margherita slice was one of the best he had. The crust was chewy and had the perfect texture. Sauce was well balanced as well. The arancini and chicken Marsala came out next and both were excellent. For the vegetarians, FYI these arancini have meat inside. They were perfectly fried on the outside, crunchy exterior and fluffy cheesy rice interior. The meatball filling had a nice rich flavor. The chicken in the chicken Marsala could do with a bit more salt, but was otherwise perfect. The spaghetti was cooked to al dente and paired great with the sauce.

Yelp
So excited that this shop is here! There are few quality pizza places in sunset park and this is definitely one. Highly recommend the spicy vodka pepperoni & the grandpa slice. Service was great, everything tasted fresh. Can't wait to try their pasta dishes

Yelp
New pizza spot that opened up right next to Sunset Park. Came here for a quick bite and the service was fast. I ordered a slice of their veggie pizza which was decent. Full menu includes pasta and other entrees.

Yelp
Ordered 3 pizzas from them a few weeks ago- The sausage, pepperoni and cheese.Loved all of them!!Then a week later we tried the grampa pizza and it was soooo salty my husband and I couldn't finish 1 slice. The ingredients were fine but the sauce itself was incredibly salty and this is coming from a person who salts everything.I wanted to give them one more shot so I once again ordered just a pepperoni pizza yesterday and again- very salty but I finished a few slices.(Added hot honey to mask the taste)Not sure if they are using canned or making their own but someone isn't tasting the sauce because it's really salty.Really want this to be my go to spot and I was really excited about it a few weeks ago but pizza isn't consistent so will continue my search or order something not tomato based .Great staff, looove the pizza crust but too much salt!!

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time tonight & highly recommend them. The pie was larger than most, a lovely thin crust & cooked to perfection. The sauce tasted like it was made by an Italian grandmother & the cheese ratio was great. I also ordered garlic knots, which were not overly garlicky & I was very appreciative of the complimentary sauce for dipping. Rob's is a very welcome addition to the neighborhood & well worth a visit.
