"Leave Rochelle Out of It, a 'bro bar' with 150 kinds of whiskey, has closed after nine years. The space has been taken over by the owners of 205 Club and reopened as Bar Louis." - Luke Fortney

In a city that is chock of restaurants and bars it can be overwhelming to find one that does a lot of things right. As a lover of bourbon and whisky, 80's and 90's rock and fun times Rochelle's ticks a lot of boxes that I haven't found replicated in NYC. I've been visiting this establishment for the past 3 years after being introduced to it through a friend of the owner. My first experience was definitely skewed a bit via the connection but it was enough for me to know I'd have to come back. Football Sundays, Fight Nights, Raucous Fridays (or Tuesday Afternoons)... I've been there for them all and have yet to have a bad time. Oh, you get hungry when you drink? Yeah, me too and most times I'm stuck with some crappy options for bar food. Rochelle's actually started as a restaurant 4yrs ago with an extensive menu. Although it has been paired down and it more focused it's still a place I would recommend for a quick bite. I'd go on and on but my suggestion is that you head down to the southwest corner of Stanton and Chrystie in the LES and find our for yourself. I do suggest getting there early on the weekends as it does get pretty packed.

So fun!! What a great place. We were here for national tequila day and Brett made us the best drinks. Great atmosphere, great location and great name!!

So much fun. I love this spot. No cover charge and the people who work there are fantastic.

This spot fun AF. Great music, great atmosphere, sexy bartenders and very professional security and door staff. This is our favorite spot to visit on Chrystie street, always a blast. No, it’s not a cheap dive bar, but who tf wants that, bartenders and staff here make sure you’ll have insane good time.

Great vibe, awesome Rock Music, sexy clientele, and wide selection of whiskeys, scotch and bourbons. The staff is attentive. The food is just right.

Every visit here as been a great time. The bartenders are the most personable I've ever met and they're very knowledgeable about their whiskeys. The whiskey selection is pretty good. They may not have everything but it's definitely enough for someone who's into whiskey. Even if you're not, they have beer on tap and they have drink specials. I was surprised at how good their food was. On a Monday if you stay later in the evening you can watch the comedy show. People come in from all over to take part in this show and they're pretty funny. The hosts of the show are pretty funny as well. It's easy to meet new people here. Every one is laid back and friendly. They have sports games on the televisions and big screen when there's a game on. There's mention of a downstairs dance area with EDM playing but that's not directly attached to this main bar/restaurant area.

Really relaxed atmosphere and a great music selection with an ultra attentive bar staff. It's a cool spot to stop in for one drink, but not more than one drink. The bar staff are really friendly and always intuitively know when you want to order something before you ask. The music is a mix of the old school, nostalgic variety, which is right up my alley.

I stumbled in to this bar one night because it was close to my hotel because I saw a line of people and figured it would be fun. I have now come back to it every single time I’m in NY! Its a fun crowd. The DJ is always on point. The staff is super friendly. The drinks are great. The owner Brett is always there introducing himself to people and making sure everyone is happy and having a great time. I’m really glad I randomly stumbled in that one night, because now it’s one of my favorite places to hang.
