18 Atlanta Bars and Restaurants Serving Top-Notch Margaritas | Eater

"From the striking black-and-white photographs on the walls to the live entertainment, Rock Steady exists to celebrate art in all its forms — including the kind that appears on the plate and in your glass. Experience a different type of music each night (maybe even get up and dance), while enjoying chef creations, including berbere-spiced lamb chops and Caribbean Queen Chowder. During your evening, sip on a Sun Goddess, a tropical delight accented with coconut, passionfruit, and peach. Ask for Astral Tequila when you order, and all will be right with the world — for a few hours, at the very least. Looking for more margs? This place was a 10000/10. The vibe and ambience was chill but classy. The music was perfect for a grown and sexy night out. We went with a group and everyone ordered different menu items and everything was absolutely delicious! Nothing missed! Our waiter, Ronnie, was an absolute vibe! He gave us recommendations on what to order, he got our order right despite having a big group, he was quick, he even got us some perks to make our experience A1. I’d definitely recommend this place and I want Ronnie back as our waiter every time!

Google
My friends love this spot and whenever we have an out of towner they wanna bring them here and I want to like it so bad but why is it always so loud with the music?😭😭 don’t get me even started on the parking and valet situation. Anyway, the food itself is great. I’ve always enjoyed my meals and service has always been top tier but I don’t want to leave having lost my hearing and my voice because the music was loud as and I was straining to hear and having to shout just to maintain a conversation with someone sitting at the same table! I think it’s fairly priced, not the best location, parking is always backed up and blocking the road which could cause accidents, but not their fault I guess. Anyway, I’d still recommend it.

We decided to come here for our annual friends holiday dinner. Parking - I did valet, which was $20-25 my friends parked on the street or Ubered. Always look for street parking first. Service: We made reservations, but we didn't have to wait at all. They run a tight ship there lol you get 2 hrs to eat, food comes out quickly and our server was kind and attentive. The 2 hrs can be a put intense but I was fine with it. Ambience/crowd: I would say mid to late thirties is the youngest. Very young professionals crowd and the ambience is very date night sexy vibe. Food/drink:10/10 no notes on the food, I'm not a huge drinker so I had tequila and soda. The pasta with salmon is perfection Favorite thing: the vibe and food! Least favorite thing: the time limit but I get it at the same time. Will I be back? And Why - Yes!!! Gotta try everything on the menu.

We were visiting from NY and had heard this place was poppin. After spending over $300 at this spot I really wanted to give them all the stars.! The vibes, the ambience and the service were 10 out of 10 from the moment we walked in this restaurant. It was well staffed, and the music was great a little loud for my taste and I also felt my mom getting annoyed because even though I love hip-hop, and don’t mind cause words in the lyrics, they were far too many and should’ve thought of that if an older crowd or even children were patronizing the restaurant. The food was just OK mostly the apps, which our party enjoy the most. I had to send back my vegetable curry pasta because it was a coagulated mush. The waitress kindly replaced it with a spicy ginger, pork dish and I was happy that she did because it was so much better! If I’m ever in the Atlanta area again I may give this place a second chance.

Google
It's hard finding a restaurant with good service, good vegan options, and a beautiful ambiance but you're getting all of that here. Our waiter Ronnie was AMAZING! When I told him I was vegan and didn't want to eat because of the fear of cross-contamination he double checked the vegan items for me and they didn't disappoint. All of the staff were sweet and kind but definitely would ask for Ronnie again. I got the pineapple jerk cauliflower, rice (some of the best rice) and two orders of pikliz. My best friend got the oxtail rigatoni and she loved it.

Google
Rocksteady is definitely a good happy hour spot me and my friends went there this Friday for the fifth or sixth time. They have a Friday happy hour so we went for Small bites and drinks. I tried the Red snapper-bites, Tostones& plantains with a peach flavored lemon drop . Our server was really sweet, and the ambience of the restaurant was very grown and sexy. Rocksteady will definitely be in the rotation for the Summer.

Google
Hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta. I had the beef empanadas and the Oxtail Rigatoni. SO DELICIOUS, I almost licked my plate! Our server Ronny (or Ronnie) was the most kindest, attentive and patient server. He made sure to assist my friend with vegan options, was very polite and personable! Delightful atmosphere and impeccable Haitian cuisine.

I’ve heard so much about this place but I think there is so many things that can make this place better and that includes taking care of your employees. I’m a little disappointed that the tip I left on my valet did not go to the valet. You need to take care of your workers so they can take care of your guests. The food was good truly enjoyed it. As a former server I get and respect the 20% automatic gratuity but I believe it also hinders the service we receive. We shouldn’t have to wait 20 minutes to place another drink order and then wait an additional 20 minutes for the drink to brought. My server made a mistake with my dates drink order, we asked for gin for the cosmopolitan and received Tito’s vodka instead, the server said he would bring one with gin. In all of my experiences of going to some of the best restaurants in Atlanta also being a former server, once it is acknowledged that a server made a mistake the guest shouldn’t be charged for said mistake. Most restaurants on this “scale” do not charge for valet. They just asked us to tip the valet. Everything should not be a cash grab especially when the cash is not being distributed properly to the workers.

Yelp
Me and my Queen were visiting ATL for a little weekend getaway. Our friend that lives in ATL recommended Rock Steady. So we checked the menu and a few reviews. Aight looks like a cool spot. Made reservations for Friday night @8pm. Arrived with no wait for our table. Receptionist staff were very pleasant and got us to our table and took our coats. Service CHECK! Waitress came quickly and made some suggestions on food and drinks. Boom..food AND drinks were very good. Better than expected. We then went upstairs to check out the lounge. The cool ass vibe continued. Great DJ Flemingo! And our server was great... YeahI got a table and a bottle of Tito's vodka so we were just having a great time. Even the damn security guy Tre was cool ass heck! DEFINITELY adding Rock Steady to my list of favorites in ATL!! NOW check them pics of our food and drinks

Yelp
I came to hang out in the bar but, I unknowingly went upstairs to the club section. My intention was to go to the restaurant which had a separate entrance downstairs on the side street. The dj was everything otherwise I would've left. They are cashless and add an auto 20% gratuity on all bills which is ridiculous. I ordered the rocksteady drink which was good. Later a lychee martini which was great. When I was standing at the bar, another girl paid with cash after the male server told me i couldn't. I asked how much a rum and coke is with house rum and the server said 18. That's more than any of the signature drinks they have on the menu... huh? The entire area was reserved seating which I think should be changed. I found an empty spot to stand and a security guard came over to me and said when it gets busy I wouldn't be able to stand there. There's little to no where else to stand. The entire area is reserved tables. The small area next to bar is the only standing area. Very awkward and uncomfortable especially when visiting an establishment alone. Also, it's a CLUB, it was packed with people and the night went on. That security guard was weird but, there's always one smh. Around 1030pm it started to fill up pretty quickly. The decor is beautiful. From the art on the walls to the tables and the rugs.

Yelp
I waited to make this review after two visits (June 2024 and December 2024). This restaurant really is 3.5 for me so not quite a 4. First, the venue is decorated beautifully. The lighting is a little too dim for my liking, but that seems the be the thing right now in many restaurants. The DJ has been there both times I've visited (Friday/Saturday) and I do not care for that. Each visit has been for a birthday dinner so I guess some may view it as appropriate, but for a nice dinner out this would not be my type of restaurant due to that. The food is not amazing, also but not bad. The portion sizes are fair. The down side for me has been the lack of flavor a few dishes. The berbere lamb chops had no flavor and I asked the waitress (to be fair) and she informed me that the sauce on the plate was to be used. Personally, I like the meat to be seasoned well and the sauce to be an accompaniment, especially with lamb. The djon djon was also lackluster and not what I was expecting. I've had some great djon djon at restaurants, but this one missed the mark. The vegetable curry pasta was good, but I was unaware of that high of an upcharge until the bill came. Sticker shock for sure! The jerk lamb egg rolls are delicious and have been the star of this restaurant thus far to me. The things that have consistently been right are the drinks. Both cocktails and mocktails. Neither time have I been disappointed. The staff has been nice and the waitresses fun and bubbly. They do have a 90min table time so be ready to eat and have another plan for after you leave if you want to hang out a little longer. Tip: The curry goat and rice has been a common favorite from my fellow patrons.

Yelp
I came out for the "Music gallery" (read lounge) and did not eat. The drinks were delicious. Bar service was as expected. Great vibes. Nice hang out spot. Fly DJ. A good time all around. Paid Parking available in the area. Valet available at the restaurant. Definitely recommend for a lounge spot.

Yelp
Visited Rock Steady for the first time during a trip to Atlanta and had a great time! DJ Toni K was the DJ during my visit and she definitely kept the vibe going. The food was also well prepared and tasteful; my friends and I ordered the Rock Steady jerk wings and the Crispy Brussels sprouts. Our server was also attentive and checked on us multiple times throughout the visit; we never felt that we were waiting too long for service. Would definitely recommended a visit to Rock Steady and would also suggest making a reservation. From what I've heard, it can be a busy spot!

Yelp
Definitely, check this place out. The curated dinning experience is Amazing. Each dish and drink was well crafted and delicious. And check out the upstairs area.

Yelp
Rock Steady offers a spectacular ambiance and delicious food that left a strong impression on me during my brunch visit. I loved it so much that I brought a group of 15 for dinner on a Friday night. The hostess, Amber, was absolutely amazing--sweet and accommodating despite a 30-minute wait past our reservation time due to another group still occupying our table. We passed the time at the bar, though the drinks took a while, and the bartender wasn't the friendliest. Once we were seated, it took quite a bit of time to get service from our waitress, Maya, who likely had her hands full with other tables and our large group. Despite this, Maya made excellent food recommendations, and I particularly enjoyed the fried catfish--it was probably the best I've ever had. The yuca fries, however, were overpowered by garlic and had an aftertaste that I didn't care for. A 20% gratuity is automatically added to all checks, which is understandable, but it's worth noting that if you want to sit upstairs in the lounge, it's $100 per person. Overall, we had a good time, especially thanks to the DJ and the quality of the food. However, the service was just so-so. I'd return to Rock Steady, but I would avoid bringing a large party next time.

Yelp
Came here on a Halloween , it's an upstairs lounge area with sections and a bar it was packed with ppl some costumes some not , but great music and a decent grown and sexy crowd. So we didn't want to stand we went downstairs to the restaurant part , ambiance was great music wasn't too loud you could hear yourself talk. Our waitress was super nice and attentive , we just got the eggrolls they were really good , I can't remember the drinks but I did like them. Bathroom was clean with plenty of toilet paper paper towels and soap. I would def return !

Yelp
Our waiter was great. The food was delicious. We went up stairs and it was poetry night. Everything was beautiful. I would definitely go back

Yelp
I finally made it to this restaurant. And I like it. Parking: street, valet or public parking all around. Most economical was street. 3 hours for a little over $6. Entrance/decor: nicely dressed doorman, valet and staff. Decor is as is from the pictures. Food: we had lamb chops, cauliflower and wings. Enjoyed all of it. I would have preferred the lamb chops a little more tender. My preference. But everything was seasoned and presentation was perfection. And drinks were very good!!! Service: our waiter was phenomenal. I had tons of questions, and she was very patient. It seemed like it was a busy night. There is a lounge upstairs and a private room downstairs. Upstairs was thumping, Dj and vibes was great. I will definitely return.

Yelp
Rock Steady is the most consistent dining experience. I try something different each time. They never miss. The shrimp and grits was delightful. I celebrated my birthday here the birthday dessert was delictabal as well. 10/10

Yelp
Vibe is dope, it's black owned as well. The decor is IG worthy! Service was great they remade my drink no problem and the food came out fast. Lots of smiles and jokes. They have an upstairs where a DJ plays and another bar. Looks Iike a good time. I left around 9 the upstairs was a little empty on a Wen but the 1st floor was full. Really cute really chic great for girls night and date night, come cute!

Yelp
So the food at rocksteady atlanta was OK! The people in my party were very disappointed in the lack of flavor as so was I The cauliflower, not so good The brussel sprouts were delicious The veggie pasta not so much Needles to say I may stop by to hang out in the lounge but as far as the food goes, I don't think I will travel down that road again.... Sidebar if you plan on hanging out in the lounge, you have to have a reservation we got there early, sat down and was not able to stay because we didn't know we needed to reserve a table. Overall, I give this place to Starz just because the prices on the food were very high, and the quality was very low.

Yelp
I loved Rock Steady. Met up with a childhood friend for Sunday brunch. It was the perfect ambiance for 20 years of catching up. The decor was a resort like tropical oasis reminiscent of the Caribbean. The thatch covered ceiling/light fixtures were aesthetically pleasing. The food was delicious. The sweet potato French toast was a nice twist. It was more like a fluffy monkey bread than a traditional French toast. It was also quite filling. I only ate one of the two toasts. The cocktail was tasty and strong. This may have made it somewhat difficult to read the bathroom signs to differentiate the men's from the women's. The letterings were confusing. We received great service. Our waiter was attentive. He also took our picture as we were leaving. I wish we could have dined in the music gallery, but I plan to go back on my next visit to Atlanta. Why not five stars? I parked in the parking lot adjacent to the building. It's valet upon entry. I paid and tipped via the app while dining. When I retrieved my car, the parking attendant made a spiel about tips. I told him I'd already paid via the app. He said they don't receive tips from the app. That should be sorted out with the restaurant. I didn't like being solicited. Note that there is ample street parking. It was raining and I had luggage in my car, so I opted for secured parking. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
My new favorite place to visit when I hit Atlanta the food was incredible! They had the most delicious snapper and griot. The drinks were amazing I went back two days in a row with my friends. We had a great time and make sure you hit the lounge upstairs as well. We got lucky and got into the rooftop from inside the restaurant. i dont know if thats normal or not because the next day we had to go outside and wait on line to get into the upstairs lounge. But after you eat definitely head upstairs the vibes are unmatched but it is small.
google avatar

Yelp
I visited Rock Steady on Saturday night with some friends. I was able to reserve a table earlier in the day for cocktails only. They only allow an hour reservation for cocktails only and if you want to extend the time then you have to add-on bottle service. We opted for cocktails only for an hour. They had a DJ, so the vibes were pretty good. A few song selections weren't a vibing, but overall, the cocktails and atmosphere were good. As the night went on, it began to get very packed. After our hour was up, we had to move for the next reservation. That was my only gripe, there were only a few tables and then you had to stand in cramped spaces. It's a good time, but just be prepared to stand unless you do bottle service!

Yelp
Rock Steady gives me ALL the bad and bougie vibes! And since I planned my best friends bachelorette trip, I had to add this spot to the itinerary. We stopped here for for brunch before enjoying a full day ahead. FYI: Valet parking only. What caught my eye was the décor; very chic and classy. During brunch, enjoy their small and large plates menu along with brunch cocktails such as their Rock Steady, Hot Stepper and Get Bent cocktails. They even have mocktails which are just as good. Don't leave without trying the Rock Steady cornbread which comes with tri-colored pepper jelly and whipped butter. So delicious! Their sweet potato french toast is a hit too as it's topped with rum syrup, lemon mascarpone and candied pecans. We definitely ROLLED out of here, haha! At the end, the waiter brought out a candle and dessert for the beautiful bride to be since we were celebrating her birthday too! Rock Steady gets 5 stars in my book. Sending love from New Jersey!

Yelp
I found my self back at Rock Steady celebrating a friends birthday! As I remember, classy sophisticated vibes, professional staff and a space to hangout with great art and a generous event space upstairs with another bar. I left early however I heard upstairs is quite the scene for the 40+ something crowd with House Music and an amazing vibe! This visit I ordered The Salmon Croquette with a Pork Chop and Apple Waffle. I also tasted some of a friends Janga Dip! The Salmon Croquette were delicious and the Pork Chop and Apple Waffle was "Meh". I was expecting more but I've had this item at other restaurants and found it far superior. The Janga dip was delicious and an enormous size for sharing! Last, I find the menu more Southern "Soul Food" than Afro Caribbean but that may just me. I do understand they have to fit the tastebuds of the guests so many they've tweaked the menu as the years go by. I recommend the restaurant! Parking is Valet but there are many areas for street parking and many garages in the West Midtown area. Gratuity is added to every receipt also!

Yelp
The vibe of this place is really nice! Great for a date night, bday dinner whatever. It's a bit dark for my liking but that's only because I'm an old lady lol Our waitress was outstanding and very attentive to each table I wish I remembered her name. The bathroom was clean and had a pleasant smelling. (Is that an odd thing to say?) Moving along, the Drinks *Sun Goddess 10/10 it was a cream drink that was so amazing. *Rock Steady 10/10 it was very refreshing and tasty Food *LAMB EGGROLLS 9/10 these were delicious. I took a point away because it has a smidge of the gamy taste but the dipping sauce they serve with it is flavorful. *SPICED WILD HONEY SHRIMP 8/10 I'm still thinking about this food 3 days later! (The dish said it came with broccoli and to my surprise it was actually tiny slivers of it. & it could've used a bit more rice) I'd order it again either way! *OXTAILS DITALINI PASTA 9/10 Fire!! I've never had that type of pasta, I thought it was rice. It was good yet interesting. Meat was tender (could've used a sprinkle of salt) Flavor was there *PEACH PIE 8/10 it was pretty tasty (it didn't have much sauce on the inside of it. I'd go back!

Yelp
This place is a whole vibe! (It was recommended to us while visiting Atlanta). The Afro-Caribbean influence is apparent as soon as you walk in. The art, lights, music, and overall vibe of the place is 10/10. They had a live DJ playing on Saturday night and they serve a late night menu until 1am. Our waitress was pheeenominal. So personable and friendly! She recommended a few dishes to us but we decided on sharing some apps between the four of us. We decided on the jerk chicken egg rolls, calamari, collard greens dip, and cauliflower. All was delicious and the flavors were insane. My fav was the calamari and dip tho! The egg rolls need hot sauce or something else to give it a little zing in my opinion. We didn't order drinks but they have a great cocktail menu. Just upstairs is a night club with a DJ and couches / bottle service. Whole place was a vibe and the melanin was popppinnnn everywhere. Definitely a must if you're visiting Atlanta!

Yelp
The company I work for held an event here. Valet parking was here and pretty cool. I like the fact that we had the entire upper floor to ourselves. The staff was amazing and really took care of us. The DJ was good as well. I like the food they served and the drinks the bartenders served. This was an unique experience that was well worth it. I want to return.

Yelp
A group of college friends got together for a weekend in Atlanta and football. We made a stop at Rock Steady, and I'm glad we did. It was a bit loud, so communicating with the staff was a bit of a challenge. I asked about the honey fire shrimp, and asked for recommendations for a substitution for the coconut rice as I'm allergic. I got the jahn jahn rice instead, and the dish was fantastic. Very flavorful with a complex taste with simple ingredients. They have a pretty strict limit on time you can be in there, which was bit of a turn off. But, I have been singing the shrimps praises since I returned to California.

Yelp
Rock Steady, baby...it's what I like, let's call this place exactly what it is AMAZING... The atmosphere is sophisticated with its unique lighting fixtures that resembles a bramble, but works well in a space that offers different dining experiences from the bar, table or lounge areas. The selection of cocktails leaves nothing to the imagination, but if you are a true Caribbean foodie, the offer Jamaica's award winning Red Stripe beer. The food is Caribbean inspired but still has the authenticity of the cultures that inspires their culinary selections. I highly recommend the Caribbean Queen Chowder as a starter, a blend of seafood and vegetables in a delicious cream broth. Follow it with the Oxtails served over pasta or the Jerk Chicken (served with collard greens) not seeing the island flavor there but who does not like well prepared collards. The curry goat was very good, not the goat granny made over an open fire, but still good. The service was top notch, from the valet parking to the greeters, hostesses and bartender, they all complimented the dining experience. Now steady yourself, this dining experience is not for the frugal as it is on the $$$$ pricey side, but well worth it. A great place for special occasions and I strongly suggest making reservations.

Yelp
Can I just say that this place was a whole VIBE! What year with my husband and a couple of friends and had an amazing time! The service was good! The ambiance was amazing from just how the place looks inside to the music was a whole vibe they put me in a great space and energy. The food was delicious as well as the drinks everything had a great taste leaving me wanting more! The bathrooms were also very clean. The only thing I would suggest is changing the paper towel dispenser because after washing my hands I had to turn a dial with my hands in order to get my paper towels out which defeats the whole purpose of washing my hands. Please make sure to make reservations before you go because if it is busy you will not get a seat for hours. Also note that it is kind of tight in there so there's not a whole lot of space to maneuver but once you get to your seat you'll be fine. I highly recommend this please send out of 10/10.

Yelp
My first time visiting and was not disappointed. The professionalism of the staff is what was so great. The manners, the attitude and professionalism of the staff was superb. The food was great. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated. Bathrooms were clean. Valet is $20. The drinks were delicious and they have a full bar. I would definitely recommend this for a party of 1-8 more seating for parties of 5. There is a lounge upstairs. Great place for the professional 30+ They had mocktails $10 that were delicious! Bill for 2 drinks & app was $55

Yelp
The food is absolutely amazing! My friend and I went for her birthday. We both had an app, entree and dessert and let me just say everything was great. The service was good, gratuity is automatically included but it didn't affect our server's performance. The vibe is great also. Such a nice establishment. My friend demanded to see the chef because she was just taken aback by how good everything was. The head chef came out and was very nice and spoke with us for a minute. I would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting. We sent quite a bit (over $200 together) but it was absolutely worth it!!

Yelp
I came to Rock Steady with a group of my college classmates that were in town for the Celebration Bowl. We made a brunch reservation for noon, which is probably best if you have a large group. Please note that if at the time of reservation the upstairs "lounge" space is available they may offer you this. Honestly, just take the tables downstairs-if someone else comes and buys out the space you will not be up there. No biggie, but just be aware. We had a lovely waitress whose name escapes me right now. She was very quick and attentive to my group. I ordered the Get Bent for my drink, which is a play on rum punch but literally will get you bent: it's made with Wray and Nephew overproof rum. If you know, you know. We shared appetizers consisting of beef patties and janga dip. The janga dip is made with collards and crawfish. Who knew something with both of those ingredients could be so delicious! I want to come back just to get that to go. My entree was the Haitian Fried Catfish. Very large portion as i had half to take back home and was DELICIOUS. Parking situation is valet behind the restaurant for $15 or you can park on the street or parking garage across the street. I will return!

Yelp
This was a night with great potential, but unfortunately poor management ruined it. My party booked a private room reservation for 9pm. Hours prior to the reservation we experienced an issue and communicated to the restaurant we would like to push our reservation 30minutes to which they readily agreed. We arrived at our new time and attempted to check us in and we're told our space would be ready in 5 minutes and lead to an upstairs lounge to wait. That 5 minutes turned into an hour and a half. At which time they tried to seat us at multiple long high top tables with bar. After an hour we finally were sat in a private room. The food was good but by this time we were over it.

Yelp
This place is always a hot spot when I've been. Food: Never disappoints me (I've ate here like 4times now) Service: Hospitable & everyone's pleasant Ask for Mike Kobes who served me on my last visit. He was the best bartender I've had here! Ambiance: DJ's be hitting & the music is cool. (Crowd is nothing shy of a good vibe. )

Yelp
Ordered the mango shrimp as an entree. The vibe of the restaurant was really nice, grown, sexy, dim lights vibe. I'd say the entree list is pretty limited and would suggest getting appetizers and splitting amongst the group but we couldn't finalize on any so we stuck to entrees. The drinks were also super strong but sweet so definitely have a ride prepared. I need to come back and try some more of their menu!

Yelp
Rocky start... haha see what I did there? The logistics were crap and hostesses were no help at all. I must've talked to 3 different people via phone and text messages to confirm my 8:30pm reservation for the gallery (lounge area upstairs). BTW the upstairs table has a minimum of $250, but I was told that our dinner can go towards it. We get there and the hostess says, the upstairs doesn't open until 9pm and that my reservation was a typo. They offered that we can sit at the bar but the drinks ordered won't go towards the tab. We waited outside. We went in and the hostess did not escort us to where we needed to go but just pointed to the door. We got our IDs checked and went upstairs. We were the only ones up there and we ordered hella food, the table barely fit everything. I'm glad we finished our food before it got poppin' because no one else was eating whole-ass meals in there, just drinking. The music was on point. To no one's fault but my own, I left an extraordinary amount of extra tip when 20% was already included in the bill (normal for a big party and we were 6 girls). The food was better than expected. They weren't lyin' when they said mango hot honey shrimp b/c baabbbyy! That was hot. The jalapeño calamari was sweet and savory, the curry pasta, to which we added crawfish, was filling and generous on the crawfish, the drinks were strong, and plantains and tostones were a nice way to finish it off. All in all, while the logistics and initial customer service didn't leave a great first impression, we ended up having a great first night in ATL.

Yelp
Always a flavorful night out at Rock Steady! I recently visited Rock Steady for my friends' birthday dinner and this was my 3rd or 4th time that I have dined or spent time at Rock Steady. Being a native South Floridian, Caribbean food is in my blood and one of my favorite types of cuisine to enjoy, so Rock Steady is always a nice idea. My friend made reservations for 9pm and I believe that we were seated around 9:30pm. I won't put that on the biz as I think it may have been the fact that the birthday girl was delayed and I think they couldn't/wouldn't seat us until our whole party was there, which makes sense to me. Once she arrived, we were seated in about 10 minutes. One thing I don't love about Rock Steady, is that it's so cramped if you're not seated because it's always busy! (Good for them!) So while waiting around, you're struggling to leave space for people to get to the restroom, leave, get to the bar or the team taking dishes out to other patrons. But, it's not a dealbreaker of course. Once we were seated, we were immediately tended to by a nice young lady who did great with our 10-top table. The menu is filled with some delicious options! I never know what to get there, despite reviewing the menu 10x+ before I even visited, lol. I ended up ordering a Caribbean 69, (a twist on my fave cocktail, the French 75) + the Griot plate with pikliz and tostones. The Caribbean 69 was delicious!! Strong but not overpowering, sweet, not in a champagne flute like French 75's but in a cognac glass which allowed for more of the drink. The griot was delicious and tasted different than any Griot that my Haitian friends have cooked. No comparison between the two because they are both delicious and made with love! The Pikliz, omg. I love Pikliz. Rock Steady's version had something different about theirs just like the Griot, but it was so good. I asked for extra Pikliz and the waitress made it happen with a huge bowl of it! When I got my receipt, I saw the $5 charge for it LOL. Totally worth it! Oh - and the DJ! Wow. We were seated next to him and he was killing it. The mixes were blowing our minds during dinner, lol. I hope they keep him on staff for a long time. A great experience out!

Yelp
We celebrated my mom's 89th birthday at Rock Steady. It has a Caribbean/Jamaica fusion menu. The selected menu items were fresh, tasty, and plentiful. The hostess was accommodating for my mom with her chair. Our server was knowledgable about the menu and not afraid to make suggestions. The decor was very nice. And they have valet in the lot next to the resturant. Black owned establishment. There was a 20% gratuity, but no additional service fee. We were not rush to leave. I plan to return soon.

Yelp
I tried Rock Steady on a whim after drooling over the menu. Oh my goodness! I'm so glad I did. I was pleasantly surprised with how great the food was. This was the perfect date night. The food, the ambience, the service, perfection!! I love the decor.

Yelp
I recently visited Rock Steady for a Friday night dinner because I knew my friend in town would love their food. We started off with brussel sprouts and the lamb egg rolls of course. I decided to try the Rock Steady, their signature cocktail. It's definitely one of the best Pina Colada's I've had, super refreshing and as someone not a fan of coconut flavors, very delicious! Our main courses were the Jerk Grilled Chicken & the Spiced Wild Honey Shrimp. Both delicious were absolutely delicious LC with the Jerk Chicken being a little bit more spicy than the Shrimp. Our sever was great with helping us make decisions on what to eat. I've very pleased to say I've never had a bad time or meal here. The inside was beautiful and the music was great, making me wonder if there was a DJ anywhere. We ended our meal with the Plantain Banana Pudding. I keep on saying everything is delicious, but it's so true! The ice cream on top was obviously homemade and the banana pudding fresh. Anyone in Atlanta has to make a visit to Rock Steady.

Yelp
I met a friend here on a Friday night. She'd been and had a taste for their dip specifically but it was my first time going here. It's small but super cozy, intimate, and busy. We didn't have reservations so they originally told us we'd have to wait a few hours. We waited about 20 minutes or so and the hosts were able to get us sat thankfully. I got a Red Stripe beer and the pasta, adding eight shrimp. It was soooooo good! Presentation was beautiful. Better than what I was expecting for sure when it comes to a simple Alfredo pasta. The shrimp I added were jumbo so I actually would've been ok with just four but I'm still ok that I got eight. I'm giving a four star rating because the shrimp are served with the tails on in the pasta. Maybe it's me but if I'm eating finger food, I don't want to keep reaching in my plate to eat the shrimp and cleaning my hands so I can use a fork again. Also, the up charge for the shrimp. I knew it was extra but I didn't know I was charged based on how many shrimp I got. The price of the extra shrimp is not actually listed on the menu. Or the other proteins offered (salmon and chicken). So it was good but a little more pricier than I was expecting. Gratuity is also added in automatically so whatever you tip would be extra. I'd go back for sure but I probably won't do this meal this way again.

Yelp
I can't even type this without addressing the fish first. The red stripe catch was one of the best fish dishes I have EVER had from a restaurant. Literally had to stop eating it so I could take some home. IMMACULATE!! Alright now back to scheduled programming this place is a straight vibe!!! The music, the service, drinks and atmosphere is great. I cannot wait to come back here!

Yelp
What a party! The venue matched the party perfectly! The food was delicious; very pleasing to the palette! The dj kept the floor full! My second experience thete. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
First off, shout out to DJ Sean Faylon. His set kept me on my feet for 2 hours straight. I loved seeing the wall decor, art and text on the walls all throughout the space. The lighting was dim and overall inside was spacious and clean. Our server was ok. She didn't check on us after taking our drink order and I had to flag her down for a bottle of water and later to close out the tab, but I wouldn't say that took away anything from my experience. I can't wait to return and will make a reservation for a table and dine in for the whole shebang on my next trip!

Yelp
Arielle was Perfect! The service was top tier and it was my first time there! She was so attentive and very knowledgeable of the menu I really appreciated that! Will I be coming back again? Absolutely!!!!10 out of 10 experience!!

Yelp
Birthday dinner (restaurant). Luckily reservations were made. Valet was $20. Parking lot across Marietta was only $6. Service was good. Food taste was excellent. Portion sizes were perfect. Kinda dark in the restaurant. Upstairs is way too crowded and loud.

Yelp
Had a great experience at dinner - food was so good that we came back to see what brunch was like. Brunch was not good. Go to dinner my friends lol my fried catfish was crispy but tasted weird like it had freezer burn or something. The sauce on my grits was not flavorful, very mild creamy taste. I didn't like it. I couldn't stomach it. The chicken patties were tough. I've had better quality chicken patties from restaurants before. These were the cheapest on the market. Bacon was ok, sweet but ok. Salmon croquettes were pretty good to me but my husband said they were too over seasoned & busy. Eggs had no flavor. The best thing was the Janga dip & grits! That Janga dip is going to always hit brunch or dinner; it's so good! So dinner is a hit, but brunch is a miss!

Yelp
Rock Steady was amazing. Beautiful restaurant, great service and even better food. Sunday, 12:30PM seated & greeted immediately. I ordered the rock steady drink, cornbread, sweet plantain, and catfish. Everything was delicious. I believe there is a lounge/club upstairs. Valet appears to be the only parking option at $20. Would recommend and return.

Yelp
This restaurant/club is a cool vibe for people who want to listen to music and enjoy some drinks. I could see myself returning for a couple drinks at the bar and then heading upstairs (if the DJ was good that night). The restaurant is dark and loud which makes it hard to have extensive conversations with the people at your table and even harder to read the menu. My group of 30-something year old all had to use our phones to read the menu and joked that we felt like our parents at a restaurant. The drinks we good, there wasn't anything too special about them, but they were tasty. Based on the things we ordered, the only food I would get again was the beef empanadas and the jerk chicken. We also ordered the vegetable pasta and the fish and chips which no one finished. Right behind the food, the service was not great. While our server was pretty quick to take our food and drink order, all of the drinks came out at separate times and the food was the same so while some of us had our food, we had to wait almost 10 minutes for others to get their food. The most disappointing part was that as the server took away full plates because we did not like some of the dishes, they never asked how the food was or how our experience was...which I typically expect even if we ate all of the food on our plates. I will say the hosts were great and very friendly which started and ended our dining experience on a high note. After dinner we went upstairs to the lounge/club where it looked like you could order food but it was much more of a party vibe. There is only one small bar upstairs so it took a while to get a drink. The DJ on the night we went was absolutely horrible. All they played was mash-ups between multiple songs and jumped around genres the entire time we were there.

Yelp
The ambiance and decor is truly a vibe. I loved it. The close seating was a drawback, however. Having to get up and squeeze pass the men seated half a arm length from me was uncomfortable to say the least. It's located in a cute neighborhood. Street parking was available within walking distance. I think pricing is typical for Atlanta. (Take that however you wish.) Our party ordered the catfish and grits. I liked it but my friend wasn't impressed. You'll see from my picture, I tore it up - as it was delicious - BUT, right when I got to the last bite (which I was excited about), I found a long straight strand of hair. Disappointing, to say the least. I informed our waiter about it and he "jokingly" said it was mine ("You know that's your hair"), picked up the plate, and asked if we wanted anything else. No apologies given. The lack of acknowledgment and accountability alone was enough to keep me from going back.

Yelp
Rock Steady is indeed holding steady! When it comes to my food, I take my dining experiences seriously. From the ambiance to the music to the food and drinks...there has to be a reason for me to return. We came in for a late dinner on a Tuesday night and I was immediately struck by the vibes of the caribbean/afro beats music. Then the dimly lit ambiance was perfect for a date night atmosphere. And I can honestly say that I would come back for our server, Tony, alone. He was extremely knowledgeable of the menu so he as able to give us excellent drink and food choices. We ordered three sharable small plates: Jerk Lamb Eggrolls, Crispy Beef Empanadas, and Peach Jalapeño Calamari. Each dish was cooked top perfection and offered an array of flavors. My only critique would be to add a sweet dipping sauce for the eggrolls. It would offer a sweet and savory taste to the dish. Other than that, I highly recommend Rock Steady and after reading the reviews about how popular this place is on the weekend (I'm sure it's because the Brunch is really a draw) I'd suggest coming in on a weekday so you can enjoy the full experience.

Yelp
Food: 6/10 it was average I'm a fan of Haitian food and I've had better pikliz, the jerk wings weren't really jerk flavored but they were smoked nicely. The cauliflower stated pineapple jerk flavor but it gave bbq sauce and the batter wasn't sticking well to the cauliflower so it was definitely my least favorite. The plantains were supposed to be sweet but they weren't so I rate my evening a 6/10 Drinks: French 75 with tequila 10/10 Service: 10/10 I love the people there Ambiance: 10/10 beautiful

Yelp
This place is in heavy rotation. I love that there's a restaurant downstairs and lounge/gallery upstairs. I typically grab dinner then head upstairs to enjoy whatever event they have upstairs. Whether it's spoken word or a DJ. Sometimes you can reserve seating in the gallery and enjoy food and drinks up there. Either way, a good time will be had. It does get pretty packed later on during the night and parking is not free. Great vibes though!

Yelp
Giving 1 star for the lounge only. I attended the 4 Eras of hip hop. It was a waste of time and gas. I followed instructions and secured my ticket via Eventbrite. I had to wait online in the cold because they were at capacity. I asked security how could they be at capacity if this is a ticketed event? To my surprise, he said it's tickets and walk ins but no priority for tickets. I was on that line for 20min. When we got upstairs there was NO ONE CHECKING your ticket. It was wall to wall packed and a SAFETY HAZARD. Also, security only patted down the men and not the women??? Huge security risk. I asked the bartender how can I order food and he told me I had to go back outside and walk around to the restaurant. I go to the restaurant and the wait was over an our to be seated and NO SEATS AT THE BAR. I left and ate someplace else. I had to wait for ever for valet to get my car and it was FREEZING. The poor valet workers didn't even have heating lamps to keep them warm. What a disgusting way to treat your employees. I will never go back.
