Great place! The barista greeted me with a smile and recommended his favorite energy bar with mango and coconut—such a good choice. The space is cozy, clean, and has a really comfortable atmosphere. I’ve added it to my favorites, and whenever I’m in Far Rockaway, I’ll make sure to stop by!

Google
Made a quick pit stop here to refuel. This is ideally situated 1 block from bike path. The coffee options are plenty. We did not try any food as we just finished brunch. Grabbed my dose of caffeine and sat outside on the bench. The day was sunny and street was quiet for 1 pm. Was able to use the washroom upon request. The staff was friendly and also allowed another cyclist to bring their bike indoor. Will definitely come again & try the energy balls…

When I walked in I was immediately given the rudest stare possible by a white woman working there. After that I ordered a sandwich, the lady who made my food said “be careful it’s extra juicy” and wrapped up my food to give it to me. When I left and opened it I only found half a sandwich. To me, given the nature of how all the workers were laughing and treating me I don’t believe this was an accident. I wasn’t rude at all just confused at first where the cash register was, I said please and thank you and smiled and apologized for being confused so there was no rudeness on my end to warrant this behavior. I have tried to call to tell them about the sandwich and no one picked up even though they are open.

I love it here. The staff is so friendly and warm. Good vibes. Their nitro cold brew is one the best nitro cold brews I’ve ever had. So freaking smooth and the right amount of nitrogen. We also always get their protein energy balls - so delicious. Thank you Rockaway Roasters! Good seating inside too.

Google
Great place to grab a coffee before heading to the beach! We also came here in the winter and it was a good place to get a hot coffee and walk around. They decorate the giant coffee cup outside depending on the season. :)

Google
I’ve been coming to Rockaway Roasters for nearly ten years, and I’m a big fan! I stop by a few times a week, and it only gets better. Under the new ownership, the place is better than ever—the quality of food and drinks is top-notch, and the staff is always welcoming and dedicated to great service. My go-to orders are the açaí bowls, egg and cheese croissant, coffee, and energy balls, and they never disappoint. Whether I’m grabbing a quick bite or a coffee, I always leave happy. It’s one of my favorite spots in the area!

Google
I really like the aesthetic of this place! Pitaya bowl was delicious! Taking away a star because me and my bf did not like the croissants .. they were burnt and one of them had a weird crusty topping on it? It was edible but wouldn’t recommend - stick to the smoothie bowls. The waffle also looks good, I’ll try that next time.

The shop was empty on a Tuesday morning, my husband and I were the only customers at the shop. The young lady behind the counter did not greet us as we entered or approached the counter. We were standing at the cash register while the barista walked back and forth cleaning her station and prepping for the next customer. This was my initial thought, I figured she would smile and ask us to wait briefly, but she didn't even acknowledge we were standing at the cash register. I gave her another couple of minutes and unfortunately, she never asked to take our order. I left the shop and a lady standing out front asked if we had been helped since we were walking out empty-handed. I explained the situation she said I'm the cook, I'll make your order, please come back inside I will help you. She did not allow us to walk away, she held the door open and ushered us back inside. She took our order and was very courteous at which point the barista prepared our drinks and charged our card. If it were not for the cook being so insistent and courteous, I probably would have not made a purchase. The coffee was rich, the latte was prepared perfectly, no sugar was required, great tasting coffee. The waffles were hot, fluffy, and topped with fresh fruit. The shop is quiet and clean, and their coffee is delicious but unfortunately, customer service is not their forte. The only words the barista exchanged with us included the total amount for our order.

Yelp
Very good. Impressed their waffles were gluten-free with almond flour and had 8g of protein. Caramelized bananas and maple syrup was a solid way to sweeten it up. Açai bowl was average. Not the best but certainly tasty. Staff was very kind and place was clean. Pricey but would recommend before and/or after the beach.

Yelp
I ordered a dirty chai, which was amazing. Probably the best I've had. Service was also good. I also ordered a goat cheese quiche and unfortunately it was inedible. It had a distinct refrigerator taste to it. Not sure how food items are stored but it did not taste fresh. I would return for the drinks.

Yelp
A hem of a spot w great coffee, friendly staff, and excellent croissants w mix of plain & sweet & savory for every taste bud. Perfect place for ur cup of morning wake up call to grab & go eat steps from the edge of the water. Do it! U won't regret it!
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome waffles. Matcha is alright. They also do TGTG, only got a bag once from them but it was decent. Cute little coffee shop. Seating is limited.
google avatar

Bae B.

Yelp
We loved this place! The food was all beyond delicious. The staff was great. We had the overnight oats and açaí bowl, both of which we were really satisfied with. Good sized portions and priced well. Nice beach vibe and was perfect before we headed out for a day in the sun.
google avatar

Yelp
It's a cute spot to go to for a cup of coffee and breakfast. We really enjoyed our egg sandwich and avocado toast.
google avatar

Gretchen R.

Yelp
Small unassuming and cute cafe. Not too busy. Closes early, but it's a cool spot off the main road.
google avatar

Kerianne N.

Yelp
BEST PITAYA BOWLS EVER. Legit could eat them every day. Especially if you add almond butter

Lew L.

Yelp
Staff is the best, love this place. Coffee is primo, pastries never fail to please, and smoothies, etc., rock.
google avatar

Mike W.

Yelp
Not gonna lie, I've been coming to Roasters for years now. Sure there are other options for coffee locally, but the environment and exceptionally friendly staff keep me coming back almost daily. Althea, my boo, welcomes me as I walk through the door and knows exactly what I would like... splash of half and half, no sugar... I'm sweet enough, thanks. Our casual conversation has created a lasting friendship and she alone has become a cornerstone of my ritualistic coffee experience.

Patricia H.

Yelp
The pesto mozzarella sandwich is out of this world. The carrot juice is lovely. The Shakshuka is excellent. But the "D'Special" smoothie is one of the best things I ever tried in my life-- my eyes widened with pleasure and surprise. Absolutely delightful.

Jennifer M.

Yelp
One of my absolute favorite coffee spots in Rockaway. The food is amazing, the location is so rustic and vibey. I love it and highly recommend getting to go in person!
google avatar

Elena K.

Yelp
EXTREMELY slow. Takes them 15-20 min to process one person. The staff is nice but it's painful that it is so slow.
google avatar

Alicia Lyn S.

Yelp
One of the best tasting coffee houses around, butttt the lady behind the counter was so unpleasant that you won't return! I know we New Yorkers are rude (sometimes) but this is not what you want when you own a buss or someone like this working at one
google avatar

Gary S.

Yelp
I've visited this place a few times this summer, having no clue that there are at least a half dozen better cafes to choose from in that 5 block radius, and i've never had a good experience. I've had a barista roll her eyes at me because I ordered something off the lunch menu, the actual food items might as well be microwaved, the coffee is always a toss up between "burnt" and "okay," and the tables they setup outside might as well not belong to them, seeing as how they don't take care of them. I once had a cashier pack her things and finish her shift on me, immediately after taking my order, and 10 minutes later, the girl who replaced her confronted me with the question "what are you still doing here?" ... not "what order are you waiting for?"I did stick around for my order, but that was really the last straw.

Peter C.

Yelp
This place has always had great bowls. Now they are the same container with half the amount for the same price and not as good!
google avatar

Darlene H.

Yelp
Love them!! Great friendly service, great espresso, and the Acai bowls are to die for. I probably go here way to often, but that in itself speaks volumes. A spot like this was way over due in the Rockaways, and I'd pick them over a Starbuck's any day. UPDATE: I wrote this four years ago, and I still stand by my words! I'd also like to give a big thank you to the crew for working everyday through these times of Covid. I appreciate your service.
google avatar

Jessicca A.

Yelp
Rude staff. Rushed my order and didn't care to make a misunderstanding right. The worker raised their voice at me instead

Pibbs H.

Yelp
I will never order from this place again. On more than one occasion I have ordered from this place and there is ALWAYS an error with my order, and even after speaking with the owner I'm basically being told it was a mistake and/or I'm a liar. I ordered over $70 worth of food to be delivered, and an hour later I'm told it was made for pick up, despite me having a receipt that says otherwise. This place is FUCKING PATHETIC and I will never order from here ever again, nor will I recommend anyone else to do so either.
google avatar

Rachelle R.

Yelp
Great coffee, açaí bowls and salads! Nice healthy choices - love their smoothies. Only complaint is sometimes they are really REALLY slow.

Alaina S.

Yelp
Food is always fresh and delicious. We ordered avocado toast, quiche, overnight oats, açaí and banana bowls, coffee, and pastry. Would recommend.
google avatar

Tauno V.

Yelp
This place has sooooo much potential based on its location alone. I wanted so hard to make it my go-to AM stop for coffee before heading to the beach, but after giving it 3 shots I can without a doubt say this place needs some major changes. I'm befuddled this place has a 4 star ranking on here! Grades customer service: D Seating: C Taste of cold brew coffee: F With some minor changes this place could really be a hot spot!
google avatar

Moses I.

Yelp
My favorite place to get coffe! Love their Açaí Bowls,...staff is friendly,...fast service. Awesome food. Lovely ambiance.
google avatar

Michelle R.

Yelp
One word - DELICIOUS! stopped in after the gym for a healthy lunch. I ordered the acai bowl and a shot of Wheatgrass - the place was busy but the service was very quick. There's tables and couches inside, giving it that extra cozy feel - good music playing, loved the vibe.
google avatar

Katey K.

Yelp
Yummy Stumptown cold brew coffee Yummy protein ball Great menu options with waffles or smoothies Good variety of seating Only complaint was the music was a smidge loud making it hard to chat.

Cynthia H.

Yelp
Absolutely love everything I've had here. The coffee, the pastries, the smoothies... I could go on and on. The staff is great, the vibe inside is spot on for our beach town, just love it.

Clark B.

Yelp
The ambiance is great, the coffee is good, but the customer servis terrible. I was "greeted" with a what do you want kind of attitude from a young lady with a carribean accent. I asked for 3 shots of espresso over ice. I believe she was training someone on the new register and said something about the espresso. I wasn't clear on whether she was speaking to me or her co-worker so I asked the barista if this was still an item I can purchase. No response. Ok, I ask for a flavored pumpkin syrup and the barista quickly reply's "we don't have any pumpkin syrup,we have everything else" so as I scan the option behind her I see pumpkin syrup. So I ask hey is that pumpkin syrup empty, she says what pumpkin syrup? Finally turns around to see that they do indeed have the item. I also asked if there was an extra charge for the syrup. No response. I was given a price and then she walked away. The woman the barista was training later explained and apologized for the inconvenience, I told it's cool and I understand. I'm not sure if this barista was having a bad day,but this isn't the first time I've experienced terrible customer service here. I tried to support my local businesses because I love my neighborhood, but I assure you this is the last time I will purchase anything from this shop. Sorry for the mini essay guys, I'm just very disappointed.

Hannah S.

Yelp
Staff is always kind and friendly..the food is GREAT! The almond danish is on point! Honestly nothing here is bad!
google avatar

Praval J.

Yelp
This is a really cool place for breakfast. It has a couch seating in one corner and tables all across the place. I visited with my friends and we order shakshuka, avocado toast and grilled cheese. While the avocado toast was delicious, it was not filling. The grilled cheese was very soft and melted in your mouth and I loved it. The shakshuka was a new thing that I tried and I loved it too. The hot chocolate and cappuccino were a delight!

Sarah C.

Yelp
I live in the UK now but when I lived in Queens, this was my Saturday go-to and I miss it! Great vibe and people and and açaí bowl and coffee on the beach before the crowds arrive is the perfect start to the weekend. Can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Kelly L.

Yelp
Mango tango is pretty good. Nice place for an afternoon coffee in Far Rockaway. I would come back again.
google avatar

Kaity P.

Yelp
Yuck. I will never go back. When I was super excited from the outside because it looks really hip and I saw lots of great reviews but when I walked in the place was dirty, dingy looking, and the staff didn't seem very welcoming. After perusing the menu for a moment, I ordered one of their frappes when the cashier couldn't figure out how to ring it up, she tried stating that they didn't make that type. I looked over my shoulder back at the menu and told her it was right there and repeated my choice. Another employee walked over to the cashier from the front of the counter and helped the person rignnit up. I also ordered an almond croissant. I noticed fruit flies around so that should have been the first indication to me that I should turn around and walk out lolol. About 5 minutes later, I was given my drink and croissant and off I went. As I got into my car I tried the drink. It was pretty good, but nothing to write home about. The croissant was hard as a rock! It definitely wasn't fresh! Pretty expensive for a neighborhood coffee shop. The staff that they had that day also could use some training in customer service.. if you act like you don't want to be there, don't work there. I don't need to deal with staff that are moody. I'll just go somewhere else to get my coffee.. somewhere where you don't feel like your putting the workers out by asking them to do their job. I'd probably get fresher croissants somewhere else, come come to think of it ...

Yelp
First time and last time ordering from this restaurant. My food was horrible. Subpar food and basic customer service are unacceptable le. Avocado toast ( bread was cold) w/feta and an egg, which I paid extra for (the egg was ice cold and rubbery) delivered in a plastic container w/no intent to be kept warm. When the food arrived, I thought the dish was meant to be served cold. No visible red onions and no special sauce. My ice coffee should have been sealed with plastic wrap. Overall, I rate this experience with 5 negative stars! #DoBetter
google avatar

Jefferson M.

Yelp
I went on a busy weekend day. Great coffee. Great vibe. Very busy. Great decor. Very cozy. Dope spot

Monica N.

Yelp
Horrible staff. There's only ONE worker in here that moves with a sense of urgency, while everyone else drags their feet. They're rude, and ignore their customers of color. I give them the benefit of the doubt because the food is actually good, but they've disappointed me too many times. If you don't mind waiting 20+ minutes for your order, feel free to go here. Otherwise, don't bother.
google avatar

Meg A.

Yelp
It's the only coffee for miles south of the bridge. It's ok coffee not the best the prices reflect the sparse coffee around and it's expensive. It's not well lit or nice a bit grimey and small. We had an açaí bowl it was good .
google avatar

Faith B.

Yelp
This is absolutely my favorite coffeehouse in Far Rockaway!! Everything is fresh, healthy, and oh so yummy! I Come here every Saturday and I can't get enough of this place. The environment is eclectic and chill. The employees are super friendly and warm. Definitely check this place out!

Amanda P.

Yelp
Nice coffee shop with tasty coffee and treats. Tried the chocolate protein balls which were super yummy snacks.
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
Thank you Rockaway Roasters for making my morning a lot brighter!! The coffee is beyond delicious and the team members working were amazing... Very helpful and extremely kind. I will definitely be back
google avatar

Gerry S.

Yelp
Awesome coffee shop that goes beyond caffeine with organic smoothies, protein shakes, and fresh organic juices with wheatgrass. Must try if your in the area.
google avatar

Juliana M.

Yelp
This is an oddball place for the Rockaways. Beach and coffee are not usually synonymous with each other but, hey! Everyone needs good coffee, right? Or atleast they should! The drip here is Stumptown which is one of my favorites so that automatically qualifies them as good coffee. It's really hard to mess up that drip! On the other side of the counter, they have healthy and vegan eats which is pretty amazing. Their Chia cups are humungous... really good for sharing. I did the one that had everything and the kitchen sink. I should have stuck to something less complicated. It wasn't as harmonious as I would have liked. None the less, on a hot summer day. that was cold and awesome.
google avatar

Lou C.

Yelp
Took the guy making my açaí bowl 25 minutes to be done. Not good service, that staff has gone down hill.
google avatar

Cinthia K.

Yelp
A bit chaotic in the mornings, and parking around here is atrocious. Their chia bowl was good, as was their coffee. Get your order to go, and enjoy it while on the beach instead.
google avatar

Kristin G.

Yelp
Absolutely one of my FAVORITE places to go in Rockaway Beach! Great menu, great juices, and great staff!!
google avatar

Iryna G.

Yelp
I'll say why my review is missing the star. Two out of the three times I went, I waited thirty minutes for my order of just two things. Twice they completely forgot to start making it even though I was standing there by the bar waiting for it. And it was from two different people I ordered both times. But I think I'm the only one who had those issues because everyone else seemed to fly in and out of the place! As for the food and drink, their bowls are very good, especially for a hot summer day. The pitaya bowl is a popular choice but I like the açaí bowl with pitaya mix added to it (for extra cost). They have a great choice of healthy smoothies and it's really hard to decide which one is the best because all are so good! It's probably the most decent place to get good coffee in the Rockaway Beach neighborhood.
google avatar

Marianne S.

Yelp
There aren't many places in RB to get a good cup of coffee and unfortunately Rockaway Roasters doesn't stand out from the sparse competition. On the positive side, its in a trendy little area, lots of options on the menu for food and drinks. The decor is cute, unique restroom, across a lot of restaurants and not too far from the beach. The negative is service and prices. I don't mind paying extra for good food and drink, especially juices and things hard to find in the area but you gonna be unfriendly, cold and dismissive. No thank you. Every time I go the workers have side banter ignoring people and when they attend to you they looked like someone kicked their dog. Its awkward. I havent had the food because I am usually too annoyed or feel rushed to get the F out. But the coffee is decent. The juices are pretty good but wished they were colder instead of lukewarm. You pay a lot, almost 9 bucks for a 20 oz cup of juice so the least they could do is appreciate the customers they have. Overall? Go to Claudettes for better coffee and nicer people who look and show they like what they do. I would only go here on Mondays when Claudettes is closed.
google avatar

Lauryn T.

Yelp
Only roaster in the Rockaways so they've got the market cornered there. Coffee was pretty good, enjoyed an americano, a nitro and a couple of drips. They're a bit pricey but not terrible when comparing to other coffee shops in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Have a range of smoothies, juices, chia bowls and other healthy food options. But also your standard donuts and pastries. If you're looking for a strong cup of coffee in the Rockaways, this is your place. Also, get the chia bowl!
google avatar

Aura M.

Yelp
I came here trying to find a place to do some work and grab some coffee in between work. There were plenty of chairs and outlets Incase you needed to plug your laptop. Coffee was good, food was good too I had an egg and tomato dish I don't even know how to spell. But that was good too. I didn't try the WiFi but a lady next to me wasn't getting service. I have a hot spot so that's not a problem for me. But idk if it was just for that day.
google avatar

Sarah G.

Yelp
The Rockaways are my second home in the summer, so I'm glad to see a cool roaster opened up in the 'hood. I had a banana peanut butter smoothie, which went down nice and easy, paired with some cold brew that was super smooth. But be warned: It's not cheap! I spent around $13 on the aforementioned. Manhattan prices for the weekend crowds for sure. It'd be a good spot to chase away a weekend hangover, or fuel up after some time in the waves. And if you're not into the beach, it's nice and dark in here for reading or computer time.
