I have been dining at multiple Rockefeller locations for years and have never had any issues with the food or service until yesterday. I went with a group of friends for brunch and were greeted by the host who was very sweet and accommodating even though we were 10 minutes late to our reservation, and I was appreciative. The manager was very attentive and made sure to come back multiple times to see how we were doing and if anything else was needed. My issue was with our server, Karen H. From the very beginning we felt rushed to order, unwelcome, and belittled. A friend in my group ordered the Sancho burrito with a over hard fried egg, unfortunately the egg came over easy with they did not like, so we politely asked if we can get another with the egg scrambled instead, the manager came to apologize and reassured they were correcting it. Karen decided to come back and say "next time for you just order it scrambled instead", which I felt was rude and unnecessary. The redo took about 20 minutes, which we understood because it was busy. We also had another friend join us pretty late because of work, and had ordered their meal last, everyone else's food was brought which was fine, I thought maybe they were waiting until the last person showed up to bring out the food because the others arrived very quickly, so I politely let her know that they were parking and they can bring out the food whenever it was ready. Karen decided to respond and say "Well you ordered it last so it gets here when it gets here" again rude, unprofessional, and unnecessary. We've always come here for the bottomless mimosas and understand the time frame we are given, but it would be nice for them to come back more frequently to ask if we wanted more, we were only asked 3 times and we asked an additional 2 which took some time to get. I would also like to add, we were not asked what flavor we wanted to begin with, she just brought out Orange. Then comes the bill, in which we noticed we were charged for the additional burrito that was supposed to be a redo, I was confused as to why it was added when it was taken away from my friend in order to remake it the way they wanted it. If the burrito was left on the table and another was brought out I would understand the charge, but the first burrito was sent back to the kitchen so an additional should not have been charged. When I brought it up to the manager we were being told it was being comped which I didn't understand still, because the burrito had only 2-3 bites taken from it until they realized the egg. Mind you, we did not want a free meal, I just wanted to pay for what was fair and pay only for what we ate and drank, never once did I ask for it to be comped, I just wanted the additional burrito that was sent back to the kitchen to be removed. Overall I would say this is my least favorite Rockefeller location after my experience yesterday and will only be dining in Manhattan after my interaction.
