Rocket Pig is a snug sandwich haven behind Trestle on Tenth, serving up its namesake smoked pork sandwich that’s a flavorful delight on crusty ciabatta.

"On a picturesque cobbled courtyard behind Swiss restaurant Trestle on Tenth, sandwich shop Rocket Pig has lurked since 2012. The heart of the brief menu is the self-named sandwich, a heap of brined and smoked pork shoulder with a nice crusty edge dressed with onion jam and mustard sauce." - Robert Sietsema

Cosy little spot which serves no thrills but great tasting pork sandwiches. Toasted ciabatta with a generous serving of tasty pork. My ‘shorty’ (medium size) costed $9.80. Would probably go for the bigger $15 size next time and this was only big enough to satisfy a craving, leaving me not starving but not full either. 4 stars not 5 as I felt the price was a little above average for what was served. Tasty nonetheless

The meal was absolutely amazing! The lunch box was more than enough food, by the time I finished the sandwich I didn't have room for anything else. Overall great meal and the cookies were phenomenal

Love their pork sandwiches here.. Although I prefer to ask them to go light on the sauces..

The pork was pretty grisly, which tells me they care more about selling every piece of meat vs. making sure you have a good sandwich. That's frustrating because the parts that were edible were tasty, which means they might be able to make a killer sandwich if they weren't being so cheap and careless. For the price of the sandwich ($14!), they should trim the pork a bit before they serve it. I like a good fatty pork, but no one likes sinew and gristle.

I really enjoy Rocket Pig, the choices for lunch around this area are not great, but Rocket Pig is quick and inexpensive. The sandwiches are tasty, the pork almost falls apart, it is melt in your mouth good. The sauce on the sandwich is delicious, and it comes with a hot sauce on the side - which is too tomato based for me but has a good amount of heat in it. The pickles are good and fresh. I suggest grabbing drinks and chips at any of the million delis to save a few bucks, but definitely take it all up to the highline, there is plenty of seating around 24-30th and it is great on a nice day.

How on earth they get away with selling a sandwich made of 70% (at least) fat is beyond me. This is the second time this has happened so I am led to believe that they intend their sandwiches to be this high content of fat, as if it is something good. It is NOT., It's hard to believe that the person who made my sandwich would think that it was something a customer would enjoy. It was pretty much the same the last time I ordered one, but this time will definitely be my LAST time.

Curiosity killed the pig! Is just one of those places that you stop by because the smell from the street was pulling you in (and that's hard to say in NYC). The sandwich is pure joy if you are into pork. Juicy galore but did not taste greasy at all. The bread is perfect balance to suck, to hold the flavor of the sauce and is pure fun when you bite into it. Reasonably priced. Let the pig take off!!!
