*UPDATE* Kitchen back open!! Limited hours, but I haven't verified the hours. I know it closes sometime around 7pm-8pm on certain days. Next time I go, I'll verify the hours. Bartenders are friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The bar itself is large, and updated. Good place to a Giants, 49ers, or Warriors game 🏈 ⚾️ 🏀. They have two pool tables 🎱, and several 📺s to watch sports games. Prices are fair, and pours are normal. Pet-friendly as well. "Louie" is pictured. Cheers!

Great neighborhood bar with friendly staff, affordable cocktails, grear ambiance, pool table and cozy backroom with sofa and gas fireplace. Dog-friendly as well.

Rocks Den is awesome! Johnnie welcomed me right in and the place immediately felt like home. All of the bartenders are awesome but Roopa is amazing. Such a beauty and such great service. This place blows away the other bars in the area. I will definitely be back

Great place to catch a Warriors game! They usually have a gameday special. Lately it has been you get to buy a shot of whiskey for $3, but only right after Stephen Curry or Kevin Durant hits a three.

This place is seriously the best, the people are nice and the owner is Amazing. All the bartenders are beautiful women and smile the whole time they're working. They have free pool and great music. It's such an amazing change fromthe dump "cotters corner" that was here previously but I give them props for keepin part of the original bar and making into a beautiful unique design on the Celing. There's never any drama here and I only see them getting more and more buisness as time goes on!! If you want to have an amazing time at a chill bar with good music come here. Oh !! And if there's a game you better believe they'll have free pizza or food for the whole bar. My new favorite spot

Funny place for this attempt at a trendy bar. The drinks are ok and the service is good. Nicely designed with a pool table and a lounge area in the back with a faux fireplace.

Amazing place! Much cleaner and friendlier than you would expect from its location on Mission St. Great staff, cool and young customers, many TV's and good selection of drinks! One of the best sports bars I've ever been in the US

Great local Mission bar with the most amazing *secret* kitchen in back! Played pool while noshing on some of the best COLD, Peruvian ceviche I've ever eaten, followed by a beef empanada (shocked by how delicious this was!). I tried their fried chicken, and while it was beautifully prepared- the Peruvian stood out.

went here for the first time last night and it was a cozy little bar with a pool table which was a nice touch. i would recommend trying it out if you're in the area!

Place is spacious. 3 different rooms to watch sports There is pool league here. We didn't get a chance to play pool. There was competition. Yummy bar foods to order Friendly staff. Parking is terrible Be ready to park a few blocks.

Nice location and they have pool table. Service and prices not so great. I'd rather go somewhere else.

Decent fries and good drink selection. Friendly staff. I like the couches they offer to sit in - great for large groups. My only gripe is a lack of taps for beer (bottles only). Recommended

1st time here and it's bigger and better. Been to their old location and this is definitely an upgrade. Bartenders are cool and they hook u up on the drinks. Manager Cuong is really sweet n fun. He drinks with you too. Love their new private party room. $500 all day from when they open till close and you can bring in your own food. Fun place! Definitely recommend the place!

Was just there this Saturday 12/16/23 and the bartenders literally robbed us from our money. We bought multiple drinks and also tipped them on top of how much the drinks cost (their service was terrible by the way and dthey had the worst attitude). We ignored the negativity because we were there to have a good time but on Monday when a couple of us saw our accounts we noticed that the amount was different (I don't know if they thought we were drunk and wouldn't realize) luckily we have receipts, unfortunately they were adjusting the tip and tipping themselves a higher amount. The place was nice, the people there that night were good vibes besides the bartenders.

Really want to make this my neighborhood bar but after paying $60+ for 4 drinks I'm not sure I'll be coming back. It's not like I'm in FiDI at some swanky joint but I'm in the excelsior for Pete's sake. Blame it on inflation I guess. Gonna walk the extra steps and head to the GPS instead.

Large area to shoot pool without ppl being in your way. Table is well-maintained and free!

I came in later hour, I get it people are toread it is the middle of the week som people are done. However if you're in the bar and restaurant industry you should mentally prepare for late night customers. In my experience as a bar patron last call is typically 1:30. I do apologize if I come I. At 12:45 or 1 am. But in general I do think I am allowed 45 to 30. Minutes to enjoy the drink I spent hard earned money on. Tonight that was not that case. The security called my friend out by name which does lead me to believe there may have been a past incident however if the security is not honest and lets my friend or people in general that they fucked in what I am to think about my friend other than he is a good upstanding bar drinker. If he was not let him know and let me as his friend know. I felt rushed out in a general gang and prison mentality I did not feel welcomed And I would not recommend and HIGHLY discourage people from going there if your I tention is to have a fun night. The security guard looked as if he wanted to instigate a fight so if you if you want to go world star all the more power to you but if this is the place to relax and have a drink there are better bars close by

Now this place is really cool but there wasn't a lot of people when we went. We went on a Monday and I guess no one goes to the bar on a Monday LOL My friends and I got a Hennessey and Coke and it was made just right. I love how you are able to play pool for free and the Bar played hip-hop music. I met the owner and he is very welcoming and nice. He made us feel right at home and I love how they have couches and chairs that you can sit to enjoy your drink. I deafly will be coming back on a weekend or knowing that there is a place in that area to hang out. They do close earlier than normal if they don't have a lot of people in the bar. They have a lot of drink selections and it wasn't overly priced either Definitely can't wait to try it again I know weekend or more busier time.

Great local bar. Its a bit of an odd place--the interior is designed as an upscale lounge but it's a pretty down-home neighborhood bar. It's a real born-n-raised SF spot with lots of 9ers/warriors/giants fans. I'm not in that crew, but sometimes it feels that way since I've been here since '05. Now, I'm a scumbag tech worker! I always meet really interesting people here while I should be going home to my wife and kid. I made friends with a face-tattoo guy, a guy that scoops ice cream at Mitchells, and occasionally invite some hoity-toity tech worker friends. I've gotten turned down for a drink here when I was too drunk. Thanks! Honestly! It's a huge step up from the Cotter's Corner, the cigarette-smoking-allowed-old-man bar that somehow survived well into 2013. They did have a great bong smoking porch in the back in those days, but happy to see the bar change hands for something more modern. My only complaint is the garnishes. If I order a 10-15$ martini or manhattan I would really like a big olive or a luxardo cherry. But I guess that's the asshole gentrifier in me.

Fantastic bar. Billie Jean, Tony, Moe and Gina treat you like family. Highly recommended visiting this location if you want a chill drink any time of day.

I had the most fun here watching the Finals 2017. Lit lit lit! Put your Warriors swag on and grab a drink (or a pitcher) for your crew. The staff knew how to entertain the patrons and even played music to hype everyone up for the next game! The bar is also on a side of mission where food is somewhat close, yet far away. Parking can be difficult but uber or the 14 can help solve your issues.. Liquor stores are also steps away if it gets crowded inside the bar. When there's a game, definitely hit up Rocks Den!

My good old neighborhood bar/watering hole. Dope spot to kick it with friends, they have a pool table you just need to wait your turn(s). Great selection of drinks and an awesome chill bartender. They allow outside food and have 2 great spots next door one being El Salvadorian the other is sushi/Japanese. Plenty of TV's to watch that game you want to watch also.

We came here on a Saturday night randomly and this guy was by far the nicest and LITTest bartender I've ever met! I wish I could give this guy 10 stars !

Looking for a nice and low-key joint to hang out with your best buds? Rocks Den is the perfect place to kick it! I came here with my friends to play pool and have some beers and it was a great time. The staff is friendly and their playlist bops! Sure it's nothing fancy, but there's a certain charm about bars like these. It's dark and moody with plenty of TV's to watch sports games. I particularly liked the cozy seating area in the back with the "fireplace" and sofa.

Ten or so sports screens. Mixed crowd. Loud hip hop. Half dozen beers on tap. Good service pretty nice decor.

Hung out at Rocks Den last night with coworkers to celebrate birthday and had a blast as always. Rocks Den is one of those dive/sports bars that's excellent to hang out out at. Perfect place to just chill. The only thing that ruined the evening was that the Seahawks beat the Rams. As a 9er fan, any time the Seachickens lose I'm happy.

One of the coolest most chicest sports bars I've ever had the pleasure of coming to. My partner came down with me for my very quick work trip( I was literally only here for a day) and we were looking for a place to watch the Texas Tech vs Virginia State game on Monday. The bartender was amazing and super attentive. They have an amazing happy hour. And it has such an old school feel. Loved it and the most important part was that he enjoyed it the most. Would definitely come back if I'm in town and there's a game going on.

Johnny, the wanna be bar tender is horrible. Does not know how to treat people in a kind manner. Looses his patience by the order of a drink. I truly think he missed his customer service class. Shame on the owners to have such person behind the bar. However this is not a reflection on the female bartenders they're awesome and always greet me with a warm smile that's why I'm giving 3 stars cuz this place could be a 5 star without HIM!

After my trip to Florida, then New Orleans, then Napa, on my first Friday night back in San Francisco, and my date and I mutually bailing on each other, I wanted something local. As I went to pick up Sushi Raw, I noticed a sign I had never seen before: Rocks Den. The hell did this nice new sign come from? I take a peak in and notice a bar. A new bar! I grabbed my to go order, and as I walked past I said "It's Friday, and this is a new bar. Let's do it!" The bar itself is pretty long, with a few tables against the opposite wall, and plenty of space in between if this place starts hopping. There is also a pool table, and a back room with a huge TV, but there are plenty of tvs, which is why I guess this classifies as a sports bar. The staff was really nice, explaining that they were celebrating their 9th week open. Their tap list isn't that huge, and their beer bottle list only adds a few, but they had plenty of liquor. With the environment, this definitely stands out from Pissed Off Petes and the other dive bars in the area. And I told them straight up this would become a weekly stop. I didn't see a drink menu, but got a standard whiskey and coke that wasn't watered down. It was on the house as it was my first time as a local and left a $10 tip. I could see this becoming a 5 star if I become a regular. I just like that I have Glen Park Station and now Rocks Den depending on which side of 280 I find myself.

Gone are the days of Cotter's Corner, a dark, creepy looking bar with no more than five patrons. The new manager did a fantastic job upgrading the bar inside out - the interior is nicely updated with several beers on tap and ample TVs for your sporting needs. I frequent this place almost once a week, just to support the local neighborhood, and I've never been disappointed. So far, my bartenders has been the manager and Johnny, both are cool dudes, super chill and friendly. I can count on Johnny to whip me up a bomb ass martini! Although they don't serve food here, they encourage you to grab food from the local eatery and have some drinks here. If you're in the Excelsior/Mission area, definitely give this place a try!

A great little gem! The drinks are well made, bartenders are friendly and bathroom are so nice! The decor is really cool plus a nice kick back fireplace area and also free pool! This is a great update to the old bar that use to be here! High five to Rocks Den for another chill spot in the area!

Went here for the first time on a Wednesday a couple of weeks ago to meet an acquaintance for their Happy Hour. I was promptly greeted by Billie Jean the bartender. She made friendly chit chat, made my drink, and periodically checked to see if I needed anything. Definitely one of the nicer and very attentive bartenders I have met. Her replacement (did not get his name) was also pleasant and just as good as well. The bar itself was clean along with the furniture. The back of the bar had a nice billiard table, and a lounge area (couch, chair, TV and fire place). I did not make use of those areas since I was busy chatting away at the bar itself. However I did see the other patrons playing billiards and watching the Warriors game on the couch. Their restrooms are in decent condition. Definitely a positive given that bars usually have dirty restrooms. Their drinks were made fine, but I will say I order simple cocktails or beer. I did order a gin martini and it was on the same level as other great martinis I have had. Overall a great experience and I look forward to hanging out here again. Makes me wish I had a local bar like this close by home. Keep up the good work!

Has an Old school San Francisco feeling.The bartenders are great! There's free pool, the music is great it's clean Great place to watch the Warriors . And on Saturdays there's college game day and you get serves great food for free. Good times you will enjoy !!!!!

This is the best neighborhood bar in the city. Bartenders are great, space is great, free pool, etc. we go frequently and have had nothing but good times here. I wouldn't trust the option of anyone who gives rocks less than 4 stars.

Lamest UFC event ever. Conor V Cowboy. Can't hear a thing. 0 stars. Almost a hundred people at $10 a pop plus countless drinks and they can't figure out how to turn the volume up. Asked 5 times. Wtf.

Saw the first debate in the back lounge and we were able to bring chips n dip in. There is free pool. It is a chill atmosphere and friendly bartenders :)

Got tipsy here once and had a knee slappin', mouf smiling, butt shakin' good time with some friends. I like the lounge area in the back. Makes me feel like black Mr Rodgers!

Two words- Ketchup Michelada. No lie, the $10 "specialty drink" is literally ketchup and beer. How disgustingly trashy. Took my friends here since it is in the neighborhood ( and trying to compete with Pissed Off Pete's )as well as because my wife teaches just up the street. You have no idea how embarassingly disgusting it was watching the owner sit on his ass and tell the brand new bar tender to make a ketchup michelada for the white folks and charge them as if it was a specialty drink. F*** that noise. Never Again. And I will be so sure to tell my neighbors and coworkers not to bother with this place. Plus, the Micheladas at Pissed Off Peets are made right and cost less.

This place is f'n awesome. All the bartenders are hott. And I mean Felina, Kelli, Amy, Eileen, Roxanne, and Roopa. Special shot out to Johnnie and Mike!!! They have singles night here, football night specials, and happy hour of course. They treat you like you they momma, so if you know what that means then you know you know you'll be treated like family. So come here if u can. You won't be disappointed.

Came here for the Super Bowl. Great seats and TVs. Staff were really nice despite the busy crowd. They even gave generous servings of free food. Definitely a gem in the city.

Nice place to watch a game in the Excelsior. Wish they had a little bit more diverse tap selection though.

Went in on a Saturday evening and the bartender Sonia was the WORST !! We ordered two dritanks, the coke in mine was flat, I mentioned it to one of the workers and he just said ok and didn't offer to do anything about it. Our bartender Sonia kept saying she would come by and and give us the bill, finally after 20 minutes of waiting, we were given a total of $30 for two cocktails! Excuse me?? When we questioned the total, she got defensive and said "well for ALL of your drinks". We went over our order and she then told us $20 and was rude to us because my bf and I were discussing the situation. $20 for two basic cocktails in the Mission is too much, especially when the bartender is rude AF.

Came here to watch the Warriors game and what a treat. Comfy couches, strong drinks and a really good sound system. Drinks I had: - Frisco Mule - taste like Moscow Mule (yummy) - The Jackie Ohhhhhhh- refreshing. Vodka with a ton of different fruits. The boyfriend had - - Native Fashion - my boyfriend loves Burbon. If you love an old fashion, get this! Trust me- yum. Night cap- last drink of the night -- Dark and Cloudy. Ginger Beer!!!! I love Ginger Beer! Overall, this is a fun place to be for groups. We discovered by walking by the neighborhood. Can't wait to come back and go Warriors!!!!

First time here. Still early but nice. Good selection of beers and liquors. 8 television screens a pool table and what looks like a small lounging area in the back.

So it turns out that they are working on their cocktail menu, so I'm a bit confused about the below reviews. Maybe they had a cocktail menu that they got rid of? Maybe not? Anyways, if you've ever been to the Excelsior, you'll realize.. there's not much. There was Broken Record, but the chefs left to open Ricky Bobby and we're back to almost nothing. So it's always a welcome sight to have a new swanky looking bar. Rocks Den is a chill new place. They have a ton of TVs so was pretty great place to get a drink and watch the warriors game. It's new so it's definitely clean and the vibe is a bit chill. Johnny the bartender was nice, and definitely took the time to learn names (even if it was just looking at your credit card). My friend got a pineapple mojito (they were $10) and thought it was okay. A bit too sweet, and tasted a bit watered down. The beer on draft was a bit lacking, but they had bottled beers at $3/each; which is a steal. I think the mixed drinks (whiskey sours, rum and cokes, etc.) is the way to go. Or shots. Shots were $3 each, and at that price, let the drinking games begin. Would definitely go again, but wouldnt be my favorite bar. But if I was in the neighborhood and needed a drink. Would consider this place.

I came here on a Saturday November 25,2017 7:15pm'sh for karaoke. My friends had contacted Cuong if it's possible to throw a last minute karaoke gig. They all agreed and proceeded. My other friends also arrived which obviously made it more enjoyable. I ordered a whiskey sour (with jack Daniels) $8, $5 Pacifico, absolut vodka greyhound $8 which I liked. This is one of more presentable bars in sf, several TVs, pool table and the lounge in the rear. Yes the bartenders are competent and professional (I didn't catch the name of the first female bartender who had curry warrior shirt and the second female bartender, Kelli--this girl can sing very well). Fortunately the other patrons were mature in attitude

B.S. !! An hour before the Warrior game and all the seats had a piece of paper that said reserved. The bar was not even full, but no other seats! Then shut the damn door and put a sign that's says private party! Annoying...and this is a new establishment. You better go back to first come, first serve if you know what's good for business. Grew up in this area...so stupid!
