"Pro baseball player-turned-restaurateur Mike Cordero, the chef/owner behind popular Arlington booze havens A-Town and Barley Mac, is expanding his growing Northern Virginia empire with the debut of Rockwood Sports Bar in Gainesville, Virginia. The 5,000-square-foot American restaurant, slinging wings and red velvet milkshakes, will open with full service on Thursday, May 31. The bar, which has been running a limited menu so far this month, is giving out T-shirts for the first 100 guests for grand opening day. The new industrial-style drinking destination (7505 Iron Bar Lane) replaces a Ruby Tuesday, with room for 200 guests to spread out across three full bars and indoor and outdoor tables. One patio sports a beer garden theme while the other has more of a lounge vibe. Featured items include Southern fried chicken, pork belly Cuban sandwiches and bacon-chicken fritters with chipotle radish sauce." - Tierney Plumb

The latest venture, which is moving into a space formerly occupied by chain restaurant Ruby Tuesday’s, is projected to feature multiple outdoor patios, glowing fire pits, and a dedicated beer garden. We were offered a Brunch menu that had fabulous choices. Next time I'll get that. Today, our lunch was delicious and Brooke was a fabulous server. I got the appetizer tacos and Ceasar salad. Scrumptious! My husband said the Meatball Sub and salad hit the spot, and our daughter loved her soup and sandwich.

Our server was sweet. I did not like my dessert. Had a chocolate brownie and It tasted like protein powder. I sent it back... The burger and potato fries were really good! My best friend had a brunch meal and she said her waffle had a chalky taste to it as well.

We arrived pretty late. Only the late night menus were available. We were still happy to find it open. Their taco was good. We also tried hotdogs, not bad. Wings had few sauce choices. We ordered Mango havenaro, which is not spicy at all. A young lady was our server. She was awesome. Enjoyed the atmosphere.

My Wife & I came here after seeing Dave Matthews over at Jiffy Lube Live, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! they have a late night menu, which was absolutely perfect for what we needed and all of it is super affordable and tastes amazing, we got a dozen wings, a Chicago Dog w/ Fries & loaded tots (we got in right before they changed to late night, not sure if they're on the late menu) On top of that our server Avery was awesome and super polite and kind, They even do something for anyone going to the concerts can show their concert tickets from That Night, To get 10% off the meal, pretty cool 😎 Definitely go here, whether after a concert or not, or just late night passing by? Worth your time.

The food here is delicious. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. But better than the food is the service. Everyone is friendly and engaging. Really enjoyed my experience here.

I ordered chicken fajitas, which had no flavor or seasoning. The tortilla wraps were too small to use, and the meal had so little guac, sour cream, and pico. To get any additional toppings was an upcharge. My son had a bacon cheeseburger, but didn't come with bacon (only baconjam). Bacon was an upcharge. My husband had a chicken Caesar salad, but it didn't have enough dressing and also lacked flavor. Really disappointed our entire meal was a flop. I would not recommend.

Our server was great!! Unfortunately we waited almost an hour to be seated. The atmosphere, music, and dining with friends softened the blow.

Finally got to take my dad to Rockwood for Father’s Day. He’s heard me talk about the great food and atmosphere. I wish I remembered my servers name. She always gives great service and great conversation/advice. When she found out it was my dad’s first time. She stop and spoke with him, gave me some recommendations. She also wished him a happy Father’s Day. I mentioned to him how they revamped the whole menu and it’s now stacked top to bottom with amazing food and desserts. He was so happy and excited with getting to try all of the different kinds of foods and desserts. The only complaint he had was having trouble hearing the staff by the omelette station due to the speaker right of where let the staff know what you would like. They also had trouble hearing us and even brought over staff to assist. My only complaint would be being able to make reservations easier in the future. The website normally lets you but it wasn’t working that day for me. When I called I got placed on hold waiting for a manager to answer. I was on hold for nearly an hour and then eventually had to call back. The host apologized and then I wasn’t even on hold 2 minutes when I called back. Regardless of those two situations we absolutely will be back. Every restaurant especially on holidays isn’t perfect. It’s own by a great family who has several different amazing restaurants.
