"Rocky’s Bar by the pool of the Austin Motel on South Congress turns into a “Winter Wanderland” for most of December. During the week, you can wander in (get it?) and check out the decorations. And if you show up on the weekends, you can watch holiday movies while floating in the heated pool. "A new courtyard bar that honors the late hotel cat and mascot opened in early October, serving a lineup of inventive cocktails (including the Jungle Cat, the Hissy Fit, and the Cosmos on Soco) plus shave ices like the Chica Cherry Cola with optional boozy floaters. The retro, poolside-inspired space features vintage pool chairs and umbrellas, lounge seating, greenery, misters, and a shuffleboard; orders are placed at a walk-up window and drinks are served in cups with cat motifs.
