"Located in La Crucecita, the heart of Huatulco, Rocoto is the work of chef Claudia Jordán. Jordán was living in Chile, missing the heat of Mexican cooking, when she found rocoto, a traditional Chilean chile that scratched the itch. Now, in her beach town kitchen, she utilizes rocoto as well as other Chilean ingredients in a variety of Mexican dishes with South American touches. Try the spicy ceviche Lima with fresh dorade or the surf & turf, featuring a slow-cooked beef rib and buttery shrimp. [$$-$$$]" - Tirza Bonifazi, Verónica Jiménez Salcedo

We went here on our last night in Huatulco for our 20 year anniversary 🍾 I must say, I wish I found this place sooner. The food was amazing and the service was awesome. It is a must go to on my list. ❤️

One of the best meal we had in La Crucecita. The food was full of flavors with fresh ingredients and beautifully presented. Both the waitress and the chef were very friendly and professional. We will definitively be back to try more of their menu.

We went here for dinner for my gfs birthday and it was absolutely AMAZING! We ordered the burrata salad, the tuna poke and the special steak and garlic mashed. It was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The service was great, the atmosphere was great. They had a fellow signing live music which was great to sing along too. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner Claudia and she was an absolute gem. If you’re looking for a fun place to dine with amazing food and staff this is your place!

We had dinner at Rocoto tonight and it was absolutely perfect. Our exceptional server suggested the special tuna tataki and we were not disappointed. The accompanying bread to start had herb oil and spicy salsa that was unique and delightful. We also ordered the crab empanada, the stuffed crab and the churros pastry. Every dish was as delicious as the one before. The tataki was flavourful and spicy, the empanada was sweet and crunchy and the stuffed crab was such an original, delicious dish. The churros were crunchy, perfect and wonderful. We absolutely loved Rocoto and can't wait to go back.

My partner and I loved dining here. The owner was attentive and gracious from beginning to end and the food was delicious. I’m from Mexico - and believe some foreigners on here with their “dietary restrictions” need to chill. In this country, you sound high maintenance, privileged and need to go with the flow.

Everyone enjoyed their meal as it was served as ordered. Service was a little slower than expected but drinks did arrive, as did dinner. Seafood is the house special so I of course ordered the beef. It was nice but I should know better than to order beef in a fish house. Music played throughout the meal which meant conversations were tough. I would recommend 15 minute set then a break for 15. Not really an opportunity to relate to anyone at the table. As such, the atmosphere is a little overwhelming. Didn't have dessert, not sure it was even suggested. Very clean bathroom. Reservations are a must unless you are keen to wait for a very long time.
