If you’re craving thoughtfully crafted pizza in Riverside, Rodrigo’s Craft Pizza at 1029 Park Street is the kind of place that reminds you why simple ingredients, handled with care, make all the difference.
This family-owned gem has quickly become a local favorite, and it’s easy to see why. Their Neo-Neapolitan pies start with long-fermented dough that delivers that perfect balance—light, airy, slightly chewy with a beautifully blistered crust. The use of imported San Marzano tomatoes and top-tier ingredients shines through in every bite. Nothing feels rushed or ordinary here; everything feels intentional.
We had the pleasure of attending a special event hosted by Gabi and owner/operator Alex, and hearing Chef Alex share the story behind the concept made the experience even more meaningful. What began as a passion project in a small NYC apartment during the pandemic has grown into a thriving Jacksonville pizzeria rooted in craft, heart, and community. That authenticity carries into the food.
The space itself is inviting and spotless, with comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. I especially enjoyed the walls lined with history and the open view behind the glass where you can watch the pizzas being made fresh. There’s something satisfying about seeing the craftsmanship firsthand, right down to the curated craft beverage station.
The Little Blanca pizza was a standout—crust baked to perfection with generous, high-quality toppings. Even the gluten-free option held its own, proving that flavor and quality are never compromised here. And dessert? The tres leches cheesecake was unforgettable. Perfectly soaked, topped with airy meringue, pistachio crumbles, and a caramel drizzle that tied everything together beautifully.
From arancini and burrata to fresh salads and house-made sauces, the menu offers plenty more to explore. It’s the kind of place you leave already planning your return.
Perfectly situated in Five Points, Rodrigo’s is ideal whether you’re grabbing a casual slice, meeting friends for dinner, or lingering over a drink. A true neighborhood spot with big flavor and even bigger heart.
