Nice journey through the full set menu at £69, great concept mixing sharing dishes and individual little plates. Lovely atmosphere and the service was spot on. More than fairly priced, especially the drinks and wine - so appreciated and rare in London!
Highlights:
• the venison croquettes - depth of flavor and delicious sauces on top
• fish - pure perfection, slightly charred, lovey sauce
• beetroot ricotta salad as the fish side dish - absolutely delicious and fresh
• sourdough with that butter… infused with marmite, even if you don’t like marmite you’ll love this
• salt baked celeriac
Now the pork tenderloin was delicious, great quality meat. The base/bed of sauce and grains was a little bland and lacked flavors as well.
Why not a 5*? Some dishes were slightly underwhelming… the pasta with truffle was the biggest let down. Sadly just lacked flavors really, which you usually don’t say about truffle pasta. The desserts didn’t hit the spot either: a gingerbread bite each, nice, but simply reminded us of a spiced carrot cake. And the trifle was just cream on a biscuit base.
