"This is the third restaurant to be opened by Yoshizumi Nagaya in the state capital. The atmosphere is trendy, modern and relaxed and dishes range from sushi and sashimi to tempura and Japanese fish and meat dishes. There is a good, predominantly German wine selection to go with the food." - Michelin Inspector

Very high level of service. They made sure that my water glass stayed full by itself. Food includes rare imported ingredients and the place is lovely in general. Highly recommended.

We were two people there for dinner and got the table next to the toilet. We reported to the chief that the red schrimp has the strange and strong smell which is similar to being stale. But the chief explained as the schrimp has being marinated. For a 260€ dinner, the service and food quality are not qualified as expected.

We come here often and are always very pleased. The cuisine is at the level of a star restaurant, the quality of the products is the highest, the service is at the appropriate level. We will come many more times!

Easily one the best foods I’ve had in my life and I have been in MANY good restaurants! Totally impressed with the food!

A lovely atmosphere with great service, the sushi can be better for the price however the other dishes offered have an amazing taste and excellent Japanese style execution. They look great and taste even better. The desserts are just as lovely. Would recommend.

Had a great dinner here. The staff was helpful and nice. The food, modern fusion, was amazing. They delivered on their set goals and we had a wonderful time.

Short review: I definitely recommend this place, although it is slightly overpriced for the quality (and especially creativity) you get. Long review: You can either order a la carte or have the fixed menu (2 options available, one longer including a fish momento, sashimi and petit fours in the end, a smaller with 5 dishes including sushi and steak). If you are into sushi or if you are more into a purist japanese style, the first is your best option. I found the menu to be more of an European French inspired construction. Back to the sushi which was what brought me here: fish is fresh and there is a good variety of options to choose from. In Roku you are beyond the classics saumon and tuna, which is always a (good!) sign of the type of place you are. Despite its obvious quality, it is still overpriced for the creativity and technique shown. Mayonese or hot sauce on sushi will always be killers of the freshness of the other produce in your roll. Wine list shows prohibitive prices for the quality and it's somehow short in options for a place that has wine on its name. Service is kind and attentive. There's a laidback atmosphere here that I personally appreciate. Roku probably wants to be more than it really is, but nevertheless, it is still a fine dining Japanese experience and you should definitely give it a try. Bonus: If you are into teas, or more even if you are not, I would highly recommend trying the Japanese barley tea. It's a nice discovery and a good transition from coffee to tea.

Roku doesn't deliver on its claims. It just practices "name dropping" to create an illusion of value. We were a party of 7 with trained palates having the large tasting menu - which comes in micro portions - and felt somewhat deceived by what was in our plates or glasses. Bavette - Wagyu or not - stays a cheap flank steak which is not meant to be sousvided and served with an overpowering hoisin sauce, lobster tartare has an easily recognizable salty iodine aftertaste (absent), a financier tastes almond.... Roku also claims to be a wine place but it isn't. The mark up on the wine is times 4. Supermarket grade wine sold at 45 euros stays supermarket wine. When a wine is flat - though it has good reviews and comes from a reputable producer - something is wrong on the other end. A "sommelier" is supposed to offer alternatives not cheap excuses. Sake cannot be ordered by the bottle. By the glass it comes at prohibitive prices. The last plate cleared we were invited to leave. Omotenashi definitely seems  to be understood differently at Roku.
