Die Gersberg Alm

"This restaurant overlooking Salzburg boasts a wonderful location and stunning views. The atmosphere in the pretty wood-panelled dining area is cosy. The cuisine is rooted in the region but also draws on international influences, with a house speciality of Zitronen-Rahm-Herz vom Milchkalb (milk-fed calf's heart in a creamy lemon sauce) featured alongside dishes such as venison yellow curry served with spiced rice. There are set menus, one of which is vegetarian, an à la carte menu and an additional afternoon snack menu – there really is something for everyone. This lovely spot, which is also a favourite among locals, is housed in the hotel of the same name." - Michelin Inspector

Wonderful and cozy hotel in the mountain and very close to Salzburg city center. Staffs were very friendly and polite. Bedroom was clean and super comfy, when we arrived there was a kind welcome letter and a small chocolate cake, so thoughtful! The bathroom had heated floor, good amenities and nice shower. We borrowed walking sticks for hiking from the hotel and it was an awesome activity nearby. They also had sauna, bowling and board games at the lobby that we didn't use but I think it was a nice touch. Very recommended.

We were only here for one night, and it was great. Can't recommend this place highly enough, the staff was wonderful, and the on site restaurant was fabulous. Food was excellent and the server set us up with wine pairings for everything at a very reasonable price. Room was very comfortable and quiet and the view from the lodge was beautiful.

Had a wonderful time in Salzburg and it was toped by our stay at Romantik Hotel Die Gersberg Alm. We went in Nov. 2022 (Can't write it for the correct year) for our honeymoon and we were upgraded to a wonderful suit which meant the world to us! |Room was clean, cozy, and very comfortable. We also got to dine in their restaurant for breakfast most days and dinner once, all amazing food.

Driving out of busy Salzburg up into the hills above to the Gersberg Alm we were greeted by a beautiful chalet with flowers, trees, & pastures. They have a full restaurant so we had a light lunch. They view down to Salzburg was so nice that we just stayed up in the hills rather than walk the city. Its only a short 10 minute drive to the city and you will do best with your own car. There is plenty of free parking. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We had a balcony with that view. This is family run hotel of the finest quality. Breakfast & dinners were of the best quality. The staff are all willing to help out. There isn't a lift but the staff was quick to help with luggage. This was a great place to stay.

My wife and I absolutely loved this hotel. Enough that we have already talked about going back. It is in a beautiful, peaceful setting, the service is warm, and the food is incredible. A special shout out to Marion and Yvette on staff. They made us feel at home and special. We genuinely miss them! Absolute 10 out of 10 service. This hotel is close enough to Salzburg that you can quickly be in the city centre by bus or car (bustop at the driveway entrance), but above the hubub. It is a mountain oasis with beautiful garden areas and outdoor seating. I went hiking a couple of times straight from the hotel. Gorgeous views! The food is oustanding. I don't know why it is not talked about more! The best authentic Austrian food you will find. You know that because loads of Austrians come just for the restaurant! Great local wines and beer as well. If you are British and love your hot drinks, just know that they don't have kettles in the room.

The hotel is like a treasure hidden in the hills. We checked in the hotel very late, so we decided to just eat in the hotel restaurant. The restaurant was going to close for the night, but they still offered us the table and served us very well. We are surprised with the food. This is one of the best meals along the way in our Europe trip. The room is cozy, cottage style. The only thing has to be careful is the bathtub. It’s very easily got water spilled out through the bottom of the glass curtains. The staffs are very nice and helpful. The place is very quiet with nice views. You could over see the fortress and city of Salzburg from the hotel. We wish we could spend more nights in the hotel.

We had high expectations of our stay but were disappointed.|The location of the property is beautiful, as you would expect on a mountain, and the outdoor pool was a luxury plus, having a good size and nice lounge chairs.|The ladies at the reception were also extremely polite and helpful.||Our luxury room was dated though but again with a lovely view.||I reserved a table for dinner but when we arrived we found the staff eating and they seemed to be surprised by our arrival.|Some items on the very short menu were nog available and the chosen fried chicken was of awful quality. It was still cold on the inside, aparantly just defrosted, and there was water coming out when cutting open.|The waitress didn't ask if everything was ok, didn't ask anything during our dinner. When she took away our plates, which we could not finish so bad, we dared to mention our dislike, she rolled here eyes. |Not getting a tip afterwards made here even more unfriendly. She was not able to say goodbye.||The breakfast experience next morning was better. The (Hungarian) staff was very friendly but it occurred to me that the buffet was very plain with limited choice.||For us the one night stay didn't meet our expectations and the price is no value for money. Read 269e for a room.

We stayed at the hotel for one night, and I must say I had the best time there. The Mountain view was Mesmerising and the Staff were friendly and nice. I can only recommend this Hotel to anyone who enjoys Nature,Mountain and some relax time I would suggest more variety for the breakfast menu. I'm definitely coming back again 💚
