"This restaurant overlooking Salzburg boasts a wonderful location and stunning views. The atmosphere in the pretty wood-panelled dining area is cosy. The cuisine is rooted in the region but also draws on international influences, with a house speciality ofZitronen-Rahm-Herz vom Milchkalb(milk-fed calf's heart in a creamy lemon sauce) featured alongside dishes such as venison yellow curry served with spiced rice. There are set menus, one of which is vegetarian, an à la carte menu and an additional afternoon snack menu – there really is something for everyone. This lovely spot, which is also a favourite among locals, is housed in the hotel of the same name." - Michelin Inspector

I rate the location and the room (Suite 205) as 5 stars. The suite itself was excellent, and being with my family helped make the stay enjoyable despite the challenges. However, the service was disappointing. The room was not properly cleaned for two consecutive days, despite reporting the issue to reception. While the reception staff were welcoming and genuinely tried to assist, the problem appeared to lie with the housekeeping team, as the issue remained unresolved. The breakfast experience was particularly upsetting. One staff member completely spoiled the atmosphere for me and my family. She behaved in a rude and discriminatory manner, making us feel unwelcome and specifically pointing to Arabs as if they were not welcome. When we attempted to sit at a table, we were told it was “reserved,” only to later discover that no such reservation existed. I was not informed—nor would I reasonably expect—that breakfast tables could be reserved, especially considering the significant amount paid for the stay. To make matters worse, when I asked to speak with the manager, I was told that the manager “might be sleeping,” and there was a clear attempt to prevent me from escalating the matter. Overall, while the room and location were excellent, the lack of housekeeping consistency and the unacceptable behavior at breakfast seriously affected our experience and should be addressed urgently by management.

Located up a mountain pass about 15 minutes outside of Salzburg this is a beautiful hotel with a great and helpful team. ||Our room was great with stunning views over Salzburg and the surrounding mountains. The bed was comfortable and the room was spotless with a nicely loaded mini-bar which was complimentary.||I’d definitely stay here again.

Gersberg Alm is a spectacular hotel resort with incredible views of Salzburg. We hosted a family reunion here. Staff was friendly, helpful and very responsive to our every need. The food is excellent, the rooms are perfect. Will definitely be back! Thank you!

Personally I think the location is liminal I’d say. The whole property is nice, clean, and neat. The people you meet that stay in this hotel are really nice, haven’t seen an incident where arguments happen between tenants or staff. Although I spent on night in here, and the place is perfect for the snow, it was a pleasant experience and much thanks!

Spent 3 nights. It was a very comfortable stay just outside of Salzburg. Staff were friendly and accommodating and the restaurant is also high quality. Just be advised that a car is recommended, otherwise it’s a long hilly walk to the nearest bus. Also a fun recommendation for wildlife enthusiasts. We heard a tawny owl one night.

Wonderful and cozy hotel in the mountain and very close to Salzburg city center. Staffs were very friendly and polite. Bedroom was clean and super comfy, when we arrived there was a kind welcome letter and a small chocolate cake, so thoughtful! The bathroom had heated floor, good amenities and nice shower. We borrowed walking sticks for hiking from the hotel and it was an awesome activity nearby. They also had sauna, bowling and board games at the lobby that we didn't use but I think it was a nice touch. Very recommended.

Driving out of busy Salzburg up into the hills above to the Gersberg Alm we were greeted by a beautiful chalet with flowers, trees, & pastures. They have a full restaurant so we had a light lunch. They view down to Salzburg was so nice that we just stayed up in the hills rather than walk the city. Its only a short 10 minute drive to the city and you will do best with your own car. There is plenty of free parking. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We had a balcony with that view. This is family run hotel of the finest quality. Breakfast & dinners were of the best quality. The staff are all willing to help out. There isn't a lift but the staff was quick to help with luggage. This was a great place to stay.
