went to piccolo ronin - the ground floor izakaya joint (haven’t experienced other parts of the establishment) — the atmosphere is very hip and casual. wouldn’t say the same about the prices and portions.
a good place to experience new food and drinks with friends, but don’t have too high of an expectation for the food nor drinks. they are, on average, passable. the curry is slightly too salty, but the handrolls with beef tartare is a good fusion dish. the yakitori and cucumber both slightly underperformed.
the italian sake is very interesting though, would definitely recommend to wine drinkers and sake drinks for the novelty.
the service staff needs more training concerning communications/ interactions with guests. two very important things - 1) please don’t ask the guests if they would like to keep the change. 2) please don’t automatically split the bill for guests, and not show any receipts without it being requested. i see the place with lots of potential with some adjustments on the quality of food, service training, and price-quality value.
