Where To Pretend You’re In A Countryside Farm Shop In London - London - The Infatuation

"There is a wholesome, crocheting tea-drinker in all of us that just wants to masquerade as Winnie The Pooh and prioritise eating honey and buying homemade jaffa biscuits. On the corner of a road of pastel matchbox houses in Belsize Village, Roni’s is a permanently packed-out bakery, deli, and shop with black-and-white chequerboard floors and it’s ideal for spotting the odd vintage Burberry-wearing A-list celebrity picking up a loaf of bread with their kids. Let your sweet tooth guide you towards the impressive pastry display for airy, flaky croissants, expertly glazed danishes, and the rich, glossy chocolate babka that’s as comforting as an evening spent in front of your fictional fireplace." - sinead cranna, heidi lauth beasley

Roni's Bakery - Belsize Village - Review - Belsize Park - London - The Infatuation

"There is a wholesome, crocheting tea-drinker in all of us that just wants to masquerade as Winnie The Pooh and prioritise eating honey and clutching a warm drink. When we’re craving teddy bear simplicity, we go to Roni’s Bakery in Belsize Village for some of London’s best baklava and to admire their pastry display. On the corner of a road of pastel matchbox houses, this permanently packed-out bakery and deli has black-and-white chequerboard floors and a grab-and-go shop, and when the sun’s out, families spill onto the sprawling pavement terrace. The cooked savoury options will do just fine for an easy eggy brunch but you should let your sweet tooth guide you towards the airy, flaky croissants, expertly glazed danishes, and the rich, glossy chocolate babka. Thanks to its location in the midst of London’s most picturesque and monied village, we’ve seen a couple of A-list celebrities here, blissfully ignored by the locals as they pick up a loaf of bread with their kids. Follow suit and pick up a zesty, bulbous lemon meringue tart or a huge tub of homemade apricot jaffa biscuits so you can continue your cosy, countryside daydream at home. video credit: Heidi Lauth Beasley photo credit: Heidi Lauth Beasley Pause Unmute" - Heidi Lauth Beasley

Roni's Bagel Bakery - Review - London - The Infatuation

"Roni’s is a favourite amongst NW postcode locals. It first opened in West Hampstead in 1989 and now has a few spots in Belsize Park, Highgate, and Muswell Hill. Its Swains Lains outpost, right by Parliament Hill Lido, is perfect for a park picnic. The bagels are a soft and chewy delight, full of a hefty smear or two of cream cheese. If you’re after a sweet treat, the babka is pretty delicious as well. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Google
Apr2025 - brunch here and was delicious once again. We all enjoyed the food we ordered - see photos. Was as tasty as it looked. Fabulous location, lots of lovely choices on the menu and the food was tasty. The bagels were a little on the small side and it’s not cheap!! Rather squashy and semi comfy seating. Staff are smiley and lovely, and somehow manage when it’s very busy. Not particularly clean…. :(( And a pleasant place for brunch, lunch and coffee.

Google
Belsize hang out central with sunny and shady outdoor seating, delicious breakfast (especially Shakshuka) and fresh juices. The service is not the fastest but always friendly. Great spot to sit and people watch.

Fresh carrots and apples juice was delicious (£5). We had a few selection of pastries to go with the drink. They were good except the donut was dry. I couldn’t eat it. Nice atmosphere with fairly fast turn over clientele.

Had a Salt Beef Bagel here for Easter Monday breakfast. It was superb. The Coffee is amazing. Service was super friendly. My perfect breakfast spot. Can't recommend it enough. Please don't make it too busy though, it is a wonderful find.

Google
I’m new to this area of London and discovered this cafe. I’ve been a couple times and really enjoy the atmosphere, service is great (the lady is lovely), and food is fresh and delicious 🥰

Google
Excellent coffee. We love their crusty artisan bread and savouries. Great for lazy Sunday breakfasts. Well laid out interiors – efficient, bright and airy, so welcoming. Friendly and efficient staff

Google
Good bagels but unfortunately not set up to prepare them fresh (toasted!!) for take-out customers: the default is premade in a plastic wrap and that just doesn’t cut it… Suggest having a bunch of toasters and ingredient available behind the counter to prepare them fresh (as typical in US bagel shops). Can be done quite fast if set up properly.

Yelp
This spot seems very popular, but I was disappointed in the sausage roll I tried for 4 pounds. Pastry seemed stale and sausage, although tasty, was quite dry. It was pretty large and filling though!

Yelp
good coffee and the bakery is great. opens early. Sandwiches and bagels. Food is if high quality which justifies prices .good portion sizes.

Yelp
I do not understand the low reviews for this place! Admittedly service was grumpy - even our third morning in, we couldn't get a smile. And we didn't dine in, only got takeout. But everything we got was fantastic!! The croissants and pain au chocolat were as good as Paris. The fresh bagels with cream cheese and salmon were outstanding. We got lattes that were excellent. Best of all, we got takeout Turkey meatballs in a chickpea butternut squash spiced sauce that were out of this world. If I lived in the neighborhood this would be my regular joint!

Yelp
We had breakfast here. The food was bland and the bagels stale. The food portions are small and are way overpriced. We left hungry and dissatisfied while spending quite a bit of money. What a waste of time and money. Not coming back. There are plenty of other good places around in the area.

Yelp
Outside of Golders Green, this is the best place to stock up on your Jewish baked goods - challah, bagels etc. While the staff aren't really all that helpful, and if you're looking for something with just point in it's general direction when asked, don't let that put you off! The bagels are probably the best thing they sell here, chewy and if you go early enough warm fresh out of the oven. There's a great variety to keep any bagel lover happy from onion to raisin, at around only 90p each. The apple cake is pretty great too!

Yelp
Horrible customer service! It seems to be getting worse and worse and now they are outright nasty and insulting. No idea why as I've been a regular there for the last 3 years but after today, I won't ever be coming back!

Yelp
This cafe has the tastiest egg mayonnaise I've ever had, I don't know what they put in it but it's simply delicious! They also do egg mayonnaise and avacado which is wonderful and come to think of it even the basic chesee baguettes are really tasty. I guess it's not cheap but it's not really expensive considering the area. And they also have the best gingerbread men Ive had anywhere - they taste really gingery! It's in a very relaxed little setting, they have a few outside tables and there's benches nearby so it's very nice in the summer when the sun is beaming down its hot rays. Feels a world away from the nearby chaos of Finchley Road.

Yelp
Good coffee, good food, much needed in the area but the staff are stressed and disorganized. Its newly revamped so Im hoping they will figure out a better system soon.

Yelp
Skimpy portions, ok food and dirty cushion seating inside. I will not be returning as I feel it was a waste of my money and time.

Yelp
Small bakery and cafe with indoor and outdoor seating, situated on a little square on Belsize Lane. Friendly staff and (very) strong coffee. There's a huge variety of baked goods (including fresh bread), and hot soup for lunch. Seems to be where the neighbourhood moms come to catch up after yoga classes...

Yelp
The food is very good, especially the bagels. I don't go during the colder months though as I don't like sitting inside due to the music they have playing in the mornings. I need a more pleasant sound to wake up to.
