Roni's Bakery - Belsize Village - Review - Belsize Park - London - The Infatuation
"There is a wholesome, crocheting tea-drinker in all of us that just wants to masquerade as Winnie The Pooh and prioritise eating honey and clutching a warm drink. When we’re craving teddy bear simplicity, we go to Roni’s Bakery in Belsize Village for some of London’s best baklava and to admire their pastry display. On the corner of a road of pastel matchbox houses, this permanently packed-out bakery and deli has black-and-white chequerboard floors and a grab-and-go shop, and when the sun’s out, families spill onto the sprawling pavement terrace. The cooked savoury options will do just fine for an easy eggy brunch but you should let your sweet tooth guide you towards the airy, flaky croissants, expertly glazed danishes, and the rich, glossy chocolate babka. Thanks to its location in the midst of London’s most picturesque and monied village, we’ve seen a couple of A-list celebrities here, blissfully ignored by the locals as they pick up a loaf of bread with their kids. Follow suit and pick up a zesty, bulbous lemon meringue tart or a huge tub of homemade apricot jaffa biscuits so you can continue your cosy, countryside daydream at home.
