The 21 Essential Aspen Restaurants

"Not only is the Aspen Art Museum a global leader in exhibiting contemporary collections, but it’s also home to an energetic bistro in collaboration with the local team behind the Farmer and Chef on the top floor. Find modern brunch fare like sourdough toast with smoked wild salmon, sturgeon caviar, chive cream cheese, pickled onion, horseradish creme fraiche, and fresh herbs, or a warm wrap with miso-soy-marinated mushrooms, spiced pumpkin seeds, hummus, and quinoa. The official Après Parties every Saturday are always a scene, complete with a resident winter DJ; a daily après ski menu is also available (except on Monday’s when the AAM is closed)." - Katie Shapiro

I had a wonderful Reuben pastrami sandwich here. Plus, I ate almost all of my daughter’s fruit yogurt cup with honey. What a terrific rooftop spot in Aspen. With amazing views of the mountain. And artwork. Chill atmosphere. Not crowded. Clean. Nice bathrooms.

While waiting for our Maroon Bells reservation we took in the Aspen Art Museum. Since it was off season they only had one exhibit but it was well worth the time as it was also free. Once we completed the exhibit we went up to the rooftop eating area of which was closing but the porch/deck facing the ski area was open. For the next two hours we sat and took in the beautiful scenery and discussed how busy this place must be in season. If you go to Aspen to ski I highly recommend this spot as I hear the food is excellent and the view is to die for.

Despite the food and coffee being tasty, this was perhaps the rudest most disrespectful service I’ve ever received at a restaurant. Simply asking a few questions about the menu and my order were met with eye rolls and intense attitude from the woman taking my order. At one point I had to stop her to ask if there was a problem. It was shocking, and such a disruption to a beautiful morning in Aspen. Unfortunately cannot say I would return.

We love Swedish Hill restaurants in Austin, so we knew we had to try it out in Aspen, and it does not disappoint. The breakfast sandwich on a croissant is unreal, and the coffee is impeccable. One day, we tried the pistachio croissant, and it was absolutely delicious. The vibe is fantastic, and the food is top-notch. Highly recommend visiting Swedish Hill in the Aspen Art Gallery for an unforgettable breakfast experience. Loved the vibe, loved the food!

Excellent salad bar and sandwiches. A little busy at times but you can usually find a spot to camp out for a bit. Least expensive coffee in the area. The chicken salad sandwich is 🤌

We love the rooftop at the Aspen Art Museum. It is THE hangout spot for so many activities in central Aspen. Swedish Hill is a wonderful addition, providing a great place to work and socialize in a welcoming environment. The food at Swedish Hill is so tasty and amazing, they have a wonderful selection. We love doing happy hour up here in the summer, we also have attended Art Crush sponsored by Prada, as well as great speaking panels. The views are immaculate, they also host apres ski parties here in the winter. It's one of my favorite spots in the entire roaring fork valley, not to mention the architecture of the space is insanely cool. I come here with clients and friends all the time. 10/10 recommend

Low key EXCELLENCE on top of the Aspen Art Museum with great views of the slopes. Prob had one of the top dishes of the year from their farm to table veg menu. THE CARROTS WOWOWOOW! Thanks for the recommendation from the attentive staff who treated our larger group with grace. The avocado toast and lox toast were deluxe and worth the price for the level of presentation and freshness. Bravo all around!

A modern farm to table cafe at the roof top of Aspen Art museum. The sitting area is spacious and modern. They use fresh and high quality ingredients. The views overlooking the surrounding mountains is gorgeous. The prices are not cheap but that is the norm in Aspen
