Roost Chicken & Biscuits Review - Roscoe Village - Chicago - The Infatuation

"This colorful Roscoe Village spot has fried chicken, boozy peach cobbler milkshakes, and a play area if you show up with kids and need to distract them while you enjoy the first two things. Sides like mac and cheese and coleslaw are good, but as the name and “Born To Fry'' sign in the retro diner-esque space suggest, Roost is all about fried bird. Both the individual chicken pieces and buttery biscuit sandwiches are great, with perfectly juicy meat underneath crispy, peppery skin, and they’re even better with housemade sauces like habanero bbq and chipotle ranch. Roost is never too busy, so it’s a reliable place to meet up with friends for a quick lunch or dinner—maybe a giant Connect Four showdown while you wait for your food." - John Ringor

I recommend this if you are looking for a Chicago-style chicken sandwich. Beware of the different voice levels! Recommend the mac and cheese and apple pie sides

Goodness gracious this place had some of the freshest, most tender chicken I’ve ever had in my life. If you go, get the Carolina Style chicken sandwich that has hot honey and pimento cheese. It blows Chick-Fil-A’s out of the water honestly. The others in my group got chicken tenders, a chicken sandwich, and some chicken fries. They really liked their food just like I did. The buffalo sauce is also delicious and they generously have bottles of their sauce in the condiment area where seating is so you can load up however much you want. The establishment & restrooms were clean. Staff were friendly and lively all joking with each other, prices were fair, and this place was on the way to ORD as we were approaching from Downtown Chicago so it was really convenient to eat here then get on the metro. Please come here if you can!

Google
I had the House Style sandwich & it was phenomenal! Crispy yet fluffy & packed with flavor. It’s a whirlwind of flavor but not a whirlwind of emotions because the only emotion you feel when eating it is pure bliss. Come home to Roost!

Google
OMG! This is probably the best chicken sandwich in the city of Chicago. I ordered the house classic chicken sandwich on a brioche bun with coleslaw, chipotle ranch sauce, and hot honey sauce. It’s mouthwatering goodness I love this place. The food is so good!

Google
Roost chicken and biscuits is the place to drop in for a quick and delicious breakfast. I had the sunrise because it was recommended on TikTok. In hindsight, I should have tried their house style which is similar to a Nashville hot chicken sandwich which if you follow my reviews I LOVE. Either way food and service was amazing! I met Sebastian the GM and his customer service skills water elite! I would come back just for him and the good of course. Side note their chipotle ranch is incredible!

Google
I tried Roost Chicken and Biscuits at the Chi Food Truck Fest and it was good! I especially appreciated that it’s Black-owned and really wanted to support. The customer service was excellent and the price was reasonable. I ordered the fried chicken on a biscuit, and the hot honey BBQ sauce was a much-needed addition that really pulled everything together. I also added chipotle ranch, cucumber slaw, and pickles—which brought great flavour and texture. I’d consider giving the actual restaurant a try!

This was one of my first stops once getting to Chicago. We arrived and it was empty which was concerning but I wasn't going to let that stop me. The cashier struggled answering my questions and seemed to be guessing more than giving an accurate answer. I ended up walking away because ever answer was beating around the bush kind of response so I let the person I was with complete the transaction. The space was decent. They had a fair amount of seating not huge but not tiny. Simple dining room but serves its purpose. For food we got the house style on a plain biscuit and the sunrise on a jalapeño cheddar biscuit. The house style def would have been better fit for a brioche bun over the biscuit. But that wasn't a recommendation the cashier could assist with. The sunrise breakfast sandwich did great on the biscuit. But over all I have 2 big issues. 1) the biscuits even though it looked like they came out a hot box sat on the counter and became cold. 2) the same for the sandwiches themselves. They moved so slow and no urgency that the food was like warm. I ordered hot sandwiches I expected hot sandwiches. The flavor was good but the template was lacking. I've had hotter sandwiches from delivery orders and considering I ate at the restaurant I'm not sure how they managed it. Besides nothing was good fresh and all of it was being held in hot boxes besides the egg so it was really barely warm to began with then the solid build of the sandwiches finished off eliminating and warmth.

Google
A Mac & Cheese Masterpiece I’ve officially found my new go-to comfort food spot — Roost Chicken and Biscuits! I came in curious, and left completely hooked, especially on their Dirty Bird Mac and Cheese. This dish is next-level: creamy, cheesy, rich, and packed with crispy chicken that brings serious flavor. I ordered it medium heat, which had just the right kick without overpowering the dish — but next time, I’m definitely tempted to go hotter. I also tried one of their chicken biscuits, and it was solid — flaky, buttery, and satisfying. But honestly, the Mac is where it’s at. If you’re a fan of indulgent, savory comfort food with a Southern twist, Roost is absolutely worth the visit. Pro tip: Come hungry. And maybe wear stretchy pants.

I visited this establishment on a Sunday afternoon around lunchtime. Right away, I noticed that no signs were posted at the entrance regarding their policy on service animals — whether welcoming or otherwise. As I approached the counter to order, the staff member informed me that I would have to wait outside while they prepared my fried chicken sandwich. I was accompanied by my service animal, who was clearly identified with badges. Despite this, the staff did not follow proper ADA protocol by asking the only two legally allowed questions: whether it is a service animal, and what tasks it performs. Instead, it felt clear that animals, even service animals, were not welcome. Due to the way I was treated, I canceled my order and left. I would not recommend supporting a business that disregards ADA laws and shows such little respect for individuals with service animals.

Yelp
Ordered Roost Chicken & Biscuits for my lazy Sunday meal, and it did not disappoint! I'd heard great things about this spot in River West, so I had to check it out. I went with the 3-piece tender chicken sandwich and a side of mac & cheese. The chicken sandwich was amazing! I got to customize it and chose a brioche bun, spicy seasoning, ranch sauce, and added pimento cheese--and wow, it hit the spot. I love pimento cheese, and it took the sandwich to the next level. Plus, it was a pretty big sandwich, so even if you're really hungry, just a sandwich and a side is a solid meal. Not knowing that, I also ordered extra chicken and got the 3-piece tenders. They were hefty and cooked perfectly! I had them with Alabama white sauce, which I highly recommend if you've never tried it before--so good. The mac & cheese was super cheesy and delicious too. Overall, Roost is a sleeper pick for one of the best chicken sandwiches in Chicago. I feel like it deserves more hype because everything I had was top-notch. Definitely will be back for a chicken sando!

Yelp
I love fried chicken and I love biscuits. Service was a bit slow due to the amount of takeout orders perhaps. But, this is a decent spot for both items. The chicken spicy level 3 of 5: Good texture, but no flavor in the breading or sauce. The biscuit 4 of 5: nice, buttery salty biscuit, but it could of been a bit bigger to fit the chicken better. The sausage gravy 4 of 5: it was good, but needed a bit of pepper in the gravy. Give this place a shot and see if it fits your taste, as for me, it makes me miss the South a bit more.

Yelp
Roost Fried Chicken on Milwaukee Avenue is an absolute gem when it comes to serving up some of the best damn fried chicken in Chicago. Their crispy, perfectly seasoned chicken is so good it feels like a crime to eat it anywhere else. The buttermilk biscuits? Fluffy little pillows of buttery heaven. And don't even get me started on the sides--those collard greens and mac 'n' cheese are worth every calorie and then some. Seriously, this place is on a different level. But here's where they lose a star: what the actual hell is up with their delivery driver? The food is exceptional, but parking in the bike lane on Milwaukee Avenue? Are you kidding me? That street is a major artery for cyclists, and blocking it shows an infuriating lack of consideration. I don't care how hot the chicken is--there's no excuse for making the already precarious job of biking through Chicago even more dangerous. So, Roost, here's the deal: fix the parking situation, and you're a solid five-star spot for fried chicken. Until then, you're leaving a bad taste in the mouths of Chicago cyclists--no matter how good the food is.

Yelp
I am so happy that Roost moved into a better space down the street. Their food is so delicious and always comes out fresh and hot. Their staff is always so friendly as well. This restaurant is a big hit for me and my girlfriend - we are always looking for good food in our area. My favorite items are the Fried Chicken Biscuit w/ fries. I also enjoy their spicy chicken salad as well. Check em out!

Yelp
Really good sandwiches n fries. My son and I stopped by the Milwaukee Ave location after one of his bball games. We tried the Carolina Style & Panama City sammies. Both of 'em were very tasty. While I didn't have a favorite, my son really liked the Carolina. It did have a nice salty-n-sweet taste when u think about the pimento cheese n honey. Panama City should only have 1 slice of cheese. I can't forget to comment about the fries, which were crispy and peppery. Service was friendly and responsive. Interior was welcoming and clean.

Yelp
Ordered delivery through their website and the process was pretty seamless, other than them forgetting utensils and napkins. The food was pretty good and super filling. We ordered the House Style Sandwich with both bread options: Buttermilk Biscuit and Sweet Brioche. We did prefer the Brioche as it paired better. The biscuit wasn't bad but a little dry and broke apart a bit while holding it up. The Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding was just a bit too sweet and over baked, so I wished we tried the peach cobbler instead. Still a decent meal overall and I'm sure it would have tasted better eaten immediately/fresh!
google avatar

Kevin B.

Yelp
Never eaten there and never will. Place is notorious for allowing delivery trucks to park in the bike lane. This causes cyclists to merge into traffic and put themselves in danger. Roost knows this, but don't direct them to park elsewhere. It's the most popular bike lane in the city. If you care about safe streets, boycott this place.

Yelp
Best chicken sandwich I think I've ever had! I had the original with pickles on the side. The sauce and coleslaw was AMAZING! Also loved the Mac and cheese! Service was amazing and quick. The store is a small corner but they get you in an out and it's quaint. Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Yelp
I'm sad to share that Roost has changed their peach cobbler recipe. It was the only menu item I truly loved, and it's disappointing because it was genuinely the best peach cobbler. I've ordered large trays for my family celebrations the past two Fourth of Julys, and they were always a huge hit. Unfortunately, the new recipe is just not up to par. The bread component is entirely different and lacks the previous appeal. I'm hoping they revert to their original recipe, as most people on Yelp! seem to agree it was amazing! Please note I did receive a refund but I'm still sad because my favorite peach cobbler is extinct!

Yelp
I have wanted to try Roost for a while now. Tucked away on the edge of River West and West Town, I would see the business as I drove to my son's house. This cute, uniquely shaped restaurant looks colorful and inviting. Al fresco dining is available on the quiet side of the building. Parking is easy so there is no reason not to stop in. When I walked in, the guy up front was so friendly. He greeted me warmly, chatted with me while I waited and said goodbye using my name as I left. The chicken, fries, mac & cheese and biscuits were a hit. The pickles looked amazing so I asked for extra. Sadly, there were zero pickles in the bag. I made sure to ask the girl bagging the food if all items were in the bag, since there were several different things. She assured me my order was complete. She was distracted and chatting with colleagues, which is kind of what prompted me to go over the order. When we were unpacking our bag and I discovered our missing pickles I called the restaurant. Although they were open, there was no answer to my call. It definitely did not ruin our meal, but man those pickles looked good!! I have now decided their biscuits are the best in town! I'm still thinking about them this morning. I think they bake magic inside those adorable, flaky layers of dough. Go check them out!!

Yelp
I got this food, DoorDash delivery. Made my own with bacon, cheese, chicken, hot honey biscuit. Side of Mac. This was AH-MAZING The food was spectacular, quick service, and they definitely don't skimp on the hot honey :) will be back, probably this week !!

Yelp
We ordered the chicken sandwich with pimento cheese and hot honey, dirty bowl, and kid's chicken tender meal. They were all delicious. The for the sandwich was crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. With the cheese and hot honey. It was gooey, sweet and spicy. Dirty bowl has cheesy Mac and cheese, crunchy fries, juicy chicken tenders, with some sweet bbq sauce on the chicken. Jalapeño peppers for a kick, tasty. Kid's meal had 3 pieces of chicken tenders, biscuit, and fries. Perfect for the little ones. The service was counter service. She was friendly and was willing to wait for us to decide what we wanted and gave us some suggestions. We sat outside since they have only few bar top seats on the inside. Some bench seats with tables. My go to place for some good chicken sandwiches.
google avatar

Anna T.

Yelp
Ordered this for pick up and it was ready within 10 minutes, very speedy! Very cute place, has a few tables to sit outside. I got the spring chicken meal. It was so delicious. The slaw is an apple slaw and then it has brie cheese and hot honey just the perfect combo. It is very filling. The sides are also big portions! I got fries and the peach cobbler. Fries were very good, crispy! And the cobbler was the perfect spring desert! Cant wait to come back!
google avatar

Maggie G.

Yelp
I love the chicken it was so delicious and juicy plus extra crunchy. And the biscuit was to die for so buttery I even loved there Brussels sprouts the only thing that was so so was there Mac cheese

Yelp
I was craving some crispy fried chicken and once I finally decided where to go, I chose Roost based on proximity. I'm super happy I went with roost! I ordered online and estimated pickup time was 20-30 min. This location is pretty small with seating for maybe 4 people total. I ordered the 1/4 white fried chicken with original seasoning, a side of Mac and cheese and a can of coke. My food was ready when I went to pick it up and they keep it in a warm spot. The food was SO good and definitely hit the spot.

Yelp
I found this adorable & delicious place by using the app, "Too Good To Go." It's a great deal! I continue to frequent this restaurant because their chicken & sides are AH-MAZING as well as their friendly staff! In particular, Kayla, the manager... Kayla greeted me with her "mega-watt" smile that made my day! Heck, it made my week! I can tell her upbeat attitude & outgoing personality is contagious amongst her co-workers! In a world that is just coming out of a pandemic, Roost truly practices "Service With A Smile!" It's a nice change to see people with smiles on their faces & be interactive with their guests. Thank you, Roos‼

Yelp
Wow! Can't believe how long it took me to try given how close it is to me. Absolutely delicious Nashville hot chicken. My fav spot now for sure. Used to be fry the coop but the Mac and cheese here is better so I'm a convert. You can choose how spicy your chicken and sauces is which is great for multiple people. The heater- chicken sandwich with blue cheese and coleslaw on a brioche bun. Tried it Nashville hot which is 3/4 heat level. At times the bites made me cough or eyes water but the blue cheese and coleslaw balanced it really well and Sometimes you want that mouth inferno feel. I certainly would not go to the next heat which is XXX (4/4). Also had the tenders spicy (2/4) which was nice. Had with the chipotle ranch which was excellent and kicked it up. Side of Mac and cheese was killer. It was less of a soup and more of a solid which is how I prefer Mac and cheese. It's a little peppery but not spicy. Definitely a hidden gem in the neighborhood. There is outdoor seating but otherwise it is just a place to order inside. The chicken was juicy, spicy and hot, what more could you want!
google avatar

Michael O.

Yelp
Good smells and location. Otherwise did not find anything great about the food. Very ordinary fried chicken, super thick batter, not something I enjoy. Service was super slow, even though the place was empty during my time there. It is OK, I would not go back.
google avatar

Cynthia C.

Yelp
Great place for fried chicken. I do have to mention that the chicken is spicy. Their Mac is good, their peach cobbler is awesome...
google avatar

Ash S.

Yelp
Ordered House style Nashville hot chicken sandwich. It was good but I felt it could've been a bit more spicy compared to other Nashville chains. It was a bit oily. Tasted oil in some bites. Fries: your average hand cut fries. I like the huge quantities of fries.
google avatar

Yelp
Went to Roost on a pre-study day whim this past weekend and definitely do not regret this decision. I had the Carolina style chicken biscuit, while my boyfriend got the Sunrise chicken biscuit. For sides, we got french fries and peach cobbler. First--everything here seems entirely homemade. The atmosphere of the restaurant screams Southern home cooking. The Carolina style chicken biscuit was perfectly cooked, though the biscuit did lack some structural integrity and could've been a bit bigger/thicker in my opinion. The chicken was crisp, had a perfect amount of breading, and didn't seem greasy (although the chicken was covered in a sweet/spicy glaze). Most importantly, as a self-proclaimed pimento cheese connoisseur, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and authenticity of pimento cheese considering that we are ~800 miles from South Carolina. The fries and peach cobbler were also above average. However, I personally was not a huge fan of the peach cobbler, and found it a bit too sweet and mushy for my liking. Hands down the best Southern food I've had since my move to Chicago, and truly a taste of home. Look forward to returning and trying some of their other fried chicken meals!
google avatar

Nikki W.

Yelp
Average chicken. Staff was friendly. Wouldn't add to my must visits but if you're in the area, and can't find anything else, it may scratch the itch for fried chicken.
google avatar

Chico C.

Yelp
Service is fast, no place to eat, they have like a "patio" outside but there's no tables and it's disgusting dirty, old greasy and next to the dumpsters. I had the Carolina honey. Not spicy, chicken was dry, definitely wasn't fresh fried, and it seems like they just poor the actual honey on top of the meat... too sticky. The bun is average, there's nothing else in the sandwich but some sort of veggie cream cheese. That's my honest opinion, don't think I'll go back, oh almost forgot it's like 12.50 no sides nodrinks
google avatar

Mel T.

Yelp
They claim to be the best fried chicken in Illinois, and I would agree, but to be fair it's the only fried chicken place I've had in the state. I'm pretty particular about fried chicken living in the south for so long and this did not disappoint. Something about the spices hit different, and the chicken was perfectly cooked and juicy. #thingsthatmakeyougimmm
google avatar

Franke H.

Yelp
I really like this place but the second time I ordered my biscuit was not thoroughly cooked and the chicken was ok ... my first time eating I needed to have another fix. I hope my next visit will be good. I ordered twice through DoorDash.

julia r.

Yelp
I've only ordered Ruth's chicken and biscuits delivery a few times, but I can honestly say that it is consistently excellent food every time. I highly recommend.
google avatar

Liz O.

Yelp
Ordered several items from Roost and was actually happy with each. The Panama City Style sandwich was excellent. I chose a bun and for me it was the right choice. I find biscuits a little unstable for sandwiches. The kids chicken tenders (for me) was perfectly spiced. Sausage Gravy and biscuits was ample portion and delicious even having been in the fridge overnight for a hearty breakfast. The biscuits remained flaky and the gravy was in a separate container and did not split or congeal. Really really good. The Mac and cheese was a large portion and good. Not great but more than passable. The Peach Cobbler I would order over and over again. I actually ate it cold because I couldn't even be bothered to warm it up. Not a ton of peaches but the crust (to me) was something like an angel food cake but a little less spongy. All in all a solid meal and I had it delivered so it traveled well!

George G.

Yelp
This is the way fried chicken is supposed to taste! The family style meal of a whole chicken and sides is a great way to go if there are a group of you, or even two, since you get to have leftovers for tomorrow!
google avatar

stephanie b.

Yelp
The peach cobbler is the star . I would go back for it . The chicken sandwich was disproportionate. The biscuit was too small for the chicken and kept sliding off . The mac & cheese was pretty good . Very creamy and flavorful. They have bad seating area. It's small , dirty, outdoors and next to their garbage cans .

Sherene T.

Yelp
Chicken is delicious! Crispy, well-seasoned outside and juicy inside. We also liked the chocolate chip bread pudding, but it was better when we dined in than when we did carry out. Homemade biscuits are really good too.
google avatar

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Second time at this location. I was always loyal to their location on Irving park until I moved. Love that this place is here though for a quick bite. I tried the Chipotle Buttermilk sandwich for the first time-- amazing! Also had the Mac and cheese and peach cobbler (amazing as always)! I just wish they had more seating but this place is good for a quick bite or pick up!
google avatar

Jenna C.

Yelp
Wowwww their fried chicken sandwich is fire So perfectly battered, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I really liked the sauce and toppings it came with too. My side selections were cucumber coleslaw and peach cobbler, which if you like dessert, is not to be missed. I actually ordered directly through their website (sorry yelp!) because it was a few bucks cheaper for delivery. The order came pretty much exactly when they said it would (~60 mins) and after just one bite, I was a fan. Can't wait to try some of their other chicken meals!
google avatar

Matthew F.

Yelp
Gotta balance out my prior review. On our last order, we were shorted items we paid for. Tonight, I received four comically small chicken tenders. Our order was the rare combination of "nearly 10 minutes late" and "barely room temperature." Something's changed here, and it ain't great.

Mandy E.

Yelp
1) ordered 6 pc dark meat - got 2 breasts instead of 2 of the 3 thighs 2) food was CHARRED. All I tasted was burnt oil. No flavor whatsoever... other than burnt oil 3) mac and "cheese" - since when is cheese watery? And top pasta was dry. Bottom pasta swimming in watered down cheese 4) biscuit was delicious! And good size too! 5) fries were old reheated and soggy 6) was charged for 2 sauces that were not in the bag I was craving a good fried chicken as my cheat meal.... I regret choosing this place
google avatar

Ethan M.

Yelp
Solid meal but a little pricey at $19 for a sandwich, fries and water. I had the Carolina style on a biscuit, definitely a step up from the chick fil a equivalent. Service was excellent and food didn't take long to come out. Worth a stop if you're in the area.
google avatar

rachel n.

Yelp
Was craving chick fil a on a Sunday so I decided to try roost to fix my spicy chicken sandwich craving. The meal itself was okay. The mac n cheese was standard, biscuit was buttery, and the bread pudding was to die for. The biggest disappointment was the the spicy chicken sandwich that I received, it was dry and a burnt

Timpy T.

Yelp
I love this place ‍‍‍ best chicken sandwiches! The dirty bird box is a game changer! Also love their tacos
google avatar

Martin C.

Yelp
I went around 3:30ish and nobody was there so we got our food pretty quickly. Usually when it's busy it will take around 15-20 min since orders are made to order. Since it was practically empty, the food came out very fresh and quick. I ordered the sunrise and made it a meal which let me pick 2 sides. I got the French fries and bread pudding and everything was amazing. The biscuit was not dry at all, the chicken was tender and juicy, the fries were crunchy and seasoned well, and the bread pudding was the perfect dessert to it all. I highly recommend eating the food as fresh as possible since the fries will get soggy pretty quickly. Overall, amazing food and service

Timothy G.

Yelp
I went to the roost off of I 80 in Portage, IN. WW!! What terrible chicken !¡!!! Tasted like burnt oil & tough. If I had a choice to eat that chicken.Or a porcupine that's supposed to taste like chicken.I rather eat the porcupine cause then it would have a reason why it doesn't taste like chicken. I WILL never get it ever again

Collin W.

Yelp
The chicken here is fantastic. I'm from Wisconsin and love a good broasted chicken IYKYK.. this checks the boxes. Salty, juicy, tasty chicken. I recently have been on a spice kick, can't find anything spicy enough type vibe, the XXX here destroyed me. A euphoric experience. Through the pain it STILL had mad flavor. Excited to go back and tone It down a notch with the Nashville. Sides were super solid, sauces are great, good shit all around.
google avatar

Crystal N.

Yelp
Online ordering with pick-up at the window makes for an easy, safe way to pick-up food during these COVID times. I got the classic spicy chicken sandwich that came with cucumber slaw, pickles and chipotle ranch on a Hawaiian role. It was a messy sandwich with the chipotle sauce dripping from the sandwich, but it was oh-so good. The chicken was fried with a nice, crisp exterior and remained juicy and succulent inside. My biggest complaint was that for a spicy chicken sandwich, it packed NO heat whatsoever. Maybe they messed up the order? Regardless, I was really disappointed. We got fries and mac and cheese as the sides. Both sides were great. Loved the texture of the fry and the black pepper in the mac and cheese. Just a shame that the chicken lacked in spice.
google avatar

Mag T.

Yelp
Mouthwatering!!! The mac and cheese is one of the best I have ever had. Everything is good here from the chicken sandwiches, mac, and bread pudding. Run dont walk!!!
google avatar

Melanie M.

Yelp
I was sucked into Roost by the cute exterior leaving me to assume this would be the best fried chicken I would ever had. Welp, I was wrong. We ordered a 1/4 chicken with 2 sides (a biscuit and the mac & cheese) and a soda for $20. Seemed a bit on the pricey side, but it would be worth it if you get amazing food. The chicken was hot and juicy, that's where the positives of the chicken ended. The chicken was so greasy, we wrapped it in napkins to soak up some of the oil. The skin/breading was crispy and completely flavorless. Is this chicken not seasoned? The biscuits were hands down one of the best biscuits I've ever had and the mac and cheese was mediocre. In addition to this overpriced bland meal, we also had to pay $1 for a sauce; we got the hot honey, which was the most watery honey I have ever had in my life. On top of this waste of money and calories, I was told the restrooms were for employees only, which I was fine with, until the person who came in after me iasked to wash his hands and he was allowed to use the bathroom ... not cool.
google avatar

Albert A.

Yelp
Funky good at its' best! Walk in to this triangle on a corner and know the vibe is real. First bite of breast and slaw and pickle on a biscuit and I'm sold, it's genuine great. Creamy Mac n cheese and picnic corn plus fries. I def a return customer. Ask for David, tell him Al sent you.
google avatar

Steve J.

Yelp
Delicious chicken if you choose sandwich, hillbilly taco or straight up. Love the sauces which go up to "my hair is sweating" but are so yummy. Ordering sometimes goes awry but I think they've had turnover at the register same as every other business. Live is better than online

Yelp
We were out walking hungry, which is always a bad idea. We had Roost in mind and were very excited when we saw the large lettering on the side of the building. Yay! We checked out the menu and saw so many wonderful options. We ordered the House Style Sandwich, the Carolina a Style Sandwich, Toasted Green Beans, Creamy Mac and Cheese, and Peach Cobbler. The house style sandwich had a generous piece of Roost fried chicken nestled between halves of a biscuit and accented with cucumber coleslaw, dill pickles, and chipotle ranch dressing. This sandwich was tremendous with tender and.perfectly spiced fried chicken. The slaw, pickles, and chipotle ranch made this sandwich truly special. Yum! The Carolina style also had a large piece of fried chicken slathered with jalapeno pimento cheese and drizzled with honey on a biscuit bun. The honey-pimento cheese mixture made this sandwich sweetly delicious! One of the best chicken sandwiches we have ever had! So tasty! The green beans were roasted and cooked with chopped onions. There was a mild tang to the flavor of these beans that made them very special. The mac and cheese was lusciously creamy and the glorious cheesiness was nicely enhanced with a little black pepper mixed in. Excellent! Finally, our dessert was the peach cobbler that was nicely sweet with a flaky biscuity crust. A really fantastic ending to this tremendous meal. We loved our first visit to Roost and can't wait for our next opportunity to try more of the delicious choices on the menu.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. If you like spicy this is the place for you. However, even the mildest can flame up the tamest of souls. The niche of this establishment is the games, trivia and pub like environment. For sure, bang for your buck!
