What a gorgeous little restaurant they have in this hidden gem of an area on Museum Street. Really feels like stumbling into Narnia. Had the tartare, the beans and the carpaccio and was delighted by every dish. A great pairing of orange wine and a fantastic chocolate orange ganache dessert made this the perfect end to my brief stay in Bristol.
I was skeptical at first when they served the tartare with chips but let me tell you, those chips were heavenly. Light as a cloud, yet crisp as a wafer, a nice counterbalance to the intense tartare. The carpaccio had a lovely surprise kick of heat to it, which paired nicely with the warmth of the beans (which admittedly was a separate dish). Dessert menu is not to be missed either. Though I managed to finish it before I remembered photographing it, the ganache looks (and tastes) a winner.
And a warm greeting to the attentive hostess who served me. Thank you for your thoughtful comments and recommendations!
