From bàhn mi turkey burgers to carnitas bathed in green chili, this is where to eat at Denver International Airport.

"C Gates The outpost of the local Denver spot has plenty of vegan and gluten-free options, and dishes like the bàhn mi turkey burger are comforting without feeling too heavy. If you don’t want to commit to a full meal before takeoff, snack on some chile crunch duck wings here instead of mindlessly browsing the $200 backpacks at the Topo Designs store. " - anne cruz

My wife and I had a layover flight here on a Friday. We decided to go have a drink and snack here. We ordered two Denver Beer Co Denver Gold Amber Lager and Hot Honey Sweet Potato Fries. Both beers and the fries were very delicious. It was crowded when we went but that's okay. The bartenders were very friendly. It was nice to have friendly conversations with other travelers too. It made for a nice relaxing time during a hectic travel schedule.

Google
In a sea of very mid airport food is Root Down. I love their Denver location and this one was just as excellent. The staff were also very friendly! Lovely experience all around. I especially appreciate their vegetable forward menu.

Google
A rare gem of airport food. I had the 1/2 soup and salad. The Thai carrot curry soup was spectacular, so was the farro Caesar. Surprisingly filling. The butterscotch pudding for dessert was also top notch. Cute, cozy vibe. Rachel was such a kind, efficient, and helpful server. Knowing this place is here makes me look forward to future connecting flights at DEN. Seriously, don’t snooze on this spot.

Google
Ok this is my first review for an airport restaurant and it’s hands down the best I’ve had. It’s hard to find any vegan options at any airport but Roots down nailed it. The quality and taste were on point and the service was excellent I will be back

Google
Wow this is the best food I have ever had at an air port! Mahalo Jim for being such a groovy server, you are on it! Delicious Cobb salad, just what I was looking for 😋 all the essentials, blue cheese, tomatoes, eggs, bacon and more that just pairs perfect. Added tofu 💕 2 mimosas and you are ready to fly 🥳

Google
Forgive me by the half eaten picture, I was starving and it was delicious. My mom had the Cobb salad which was delicious with bacon and dates. I had the Colombian Arepas with a side of carnitas and avocado. I couldn't put down my knife and fork it was delicious. I wish I could eat more of it. I also wish this restaurant was more of a big time thing than inside an airport. But I'll make due and hope to come back to the airport soon. Although I do wish the floors were a bit cleaner and the music turned down but decor and food was beautiful.

Google
Great food and good service at an airport restaurant do not go hand in hand. Root down defies the odds and provides an exceptional airport dining experience. They offer a great drink selection including a good variety of beers on tap and the menu has something for everyone. Definitely a little pricey, but that is to be expected when you're eating at the airport. The cobb salad was one of the best I've ever had. The bartenders were attentive and contributed to an A+ airport meal.

Google
Had an awesome layover meal at Root Down. Beer was solid, sliders and burgers hit the spot, and the banana bread was way better than it had any right to be. Our waitress, Emmy Jo, was fantastic, super friendly and on top of everything. Definitely a win for airport food.

Yelp
For airport food, Root Down is pretty decent (as well as the Mercantile Dining & Provision at the A gate wing, which I think is one of the best airport food I've had)! The dining area is adjacent to a small open market, and is in the "food court" area of the wing. If you get a seat by the window, you'll be able to watch the planes fly in and out, which is calming. Notably, the portions are large, as I'd rather pay more for a decent meal rather than an oily, greasy fast food option if I can help it. The service was also positive, chirpy, and attentive - great experience! My party and I were seated quickly and had water immediately upon being seated. Food quality is good as far as airport food goes. My party ordered the Bahn Mi Turkey Burger with sweet potato fries, Ramen, and 1/2 Soup + 1/2 Salad. The plates are super large, even for the 1/2 salad so if you're not ravenous, you could probably order just one entree and share it with another person. The sweet potato fries were decent, and the turkey burger was supple (and healthy-tasting with fresh ingredients) though it tasted nothing like Bahn Mi - it's more Bahn Mi inspired with the addition of jalapeno and cilantro. The ramen was overly salty, and my party and I diluted it by ordering a cup of hot water. The soup and salad were delicious and super fresh, recommend getting this entree! If I had a long layover and wanted to treat myself, would be happy to return.

Yelp
Seated fast and had coffee and water instantly at the bar. A bit of an egg shortage ixnayed the breakfast tacos, so I went with the burrito. Served with potatoes, greens, with salsa and an avocado dressing/sauce. This is the 2nd time I've eaten here, 1st time breakfast. Food came out fast and piping hot. Friendly service, even tho he was a buckeye fan. Burrito was very good, and the potatoes were a nice surprise, diced red, sweet, and white, pan fried. Just great. I have no reason to eat anywhere else at DIA.

Yelp
I believe this is the best food I've ever had in an airport. I stopped here on my way home from a business trip and was very impressed. The staff was great, the wait-time was short (with quick-service) and the food flavors were excellent. I tried the Colorado Lamb Sliders and Jalapeño Cornbread and they were both extremely tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're traveling through the Denver airport, especially in-favor of mediocre large chain-restaurants around it.

Yelp
Stopped by Root Down at the Denver airport and had an excellent experience. I ordered the lamb slider, which was absolutely incredible--perfectly cooked and full of flavor. My wife had the ramen, and she loved it as well. The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who made sure we had everything we needed. Despite being at a busy airport, the wait was minimal, and the atmosphere was great for a relaxing meal. Highly recommend if you're passing through DEN!

Yelp
Hands down my favorite restaurant to eat at and pass the time during a layover in Denver. This place was so good that I sought out the flagship restaurant in the city to enjoy the more expansive menu. They have a variety of seating options as well as food and beverages. I don't think you can go wrong with anything they have to offer- salads, brunch items as well as hearty options.
google avatar

Yelp
We had a long layover in Denver and decided to grab dinner here. The hostess at the door was really rude. Then again, decent service isn't always something you can expect at an airport. But our server was very friendly and made up for it. I ordered the lamb sliders, which were delicious for the first few bites, but after a while, they became really salty. The sweet potato fries were excellent though and I reallyenjoyed those! My boyfriend got the salmon salad, which was decent but nothing out of the ordinary. Was it worth the price? Not really. But it's a convenient spot to grab a drink or a quick meal while waiting for your flight.

Yelp
Got to the airport this morning, and I usually fly out of terminal B but this time I flew out of terminal C and I have eaten here before and enjoyed it the last time, my server was great. Was able to get a table by the window, kept it simple and I ordered the Chorizo and egg tacos with sweet potato fries with an orange juice and water, even though the place was busy, my food arrived promptly and man talk about delicious. The sweet potatoes were hot, and slightly crispy like I like them and served with a salsa and ketchup, the chorizo tacos were topped with a creamy sauce that was absolutely delicious. This dish was big enough for two people to split, very clean and I believe my server's name was Whitty, anyways if you're looking for a place to eat breakfast or lunch, they have a full bar and comfortable seating. Looking forward to eating here again on my next trip.

Yelp
What a lovely addition to DIA. All my reviews take gluten free (GF) / Celiac accommodations into consideration and Root Down really did well in this department. They have a dedicated frier for GF foods & offered a great GF burger replacement. The server I spoke with appeared knowledgable and was able to alleviate all of my concerns by making it apparent she'd been trained on GF needs. I always so appreciate that! Root Down feels like a small oasis in the middle of DIA. It gets busy & crowded but such is the airport. I loved my meal, the service, the accessible outlets, and the view. Would come back.

Yelp
Yummy airport food is hard to find. This is what we needed to fuel the rest of the day of traveling. The ramen had fresh crunchy bokchoy and kimchi. If you're in gate C please try here.
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
In Terminal C at the top of the escalators. Packed Sunday evening and were seated at the bar. Bartenders were quick and on it. Good cocktails. Tried the turkey club with sweet potatoe waffle fries. Pretty good sandwhich and the fries were good.
google avatar

Yelp
I had their lamb sliders and their french fries everything was seasoned perfect very delicious. The lamb sliders just melted in your mouth and were very flavorful if you like lamb I definitely recommend you to try the lamb sliders

Yelp
We had the ramen and the burger and they both hit the spot. The ramen is one of the best in the city. Huge, complex flavors. My daughter begs us to allow extra travel time to eat here every time we fly so she can get the ramen... even if we are flying out of another terminal - and even if it's breakfast time. Highly recommend.

Yelp
My flight home was delayed after a work trip in Denver so had some time to have a sit down dinner and this place was recommended by a colleague. I got seated right away at the bar since it was just me on a Thursday evening at 7pm. It definitely looked busy and I saw some other groups waiting to be seated. They didn't have as many main entree options as I expected, they were mostly burgers and sandwiches which are a little too heavy for my taste. I ended up ordering shrimp and avocado tacos and a side of sweet potato waffle fries. I didn't realize until after the fact that they were supposed to be jicama tortillas and not regular corn tortillas which were a little dried out at the ends. Also for $28 I expected way more than just a pile of small shrimp and barely half an avocado. I know they're airport prices but still! The fries were very good especially with the hot honey thankfully. Service was just ok, my plate took way too long to come out considering it's an airport but luckily I wasn't in a rush. Not sure if I'd come back again considering the prices.

Yelp
Lovely restaurant in terminal C. Dined in around 10am. The restaurant offers lunch all day and breakfast from 6am to 12pm. I had a spicy margarita which was made to perfection! I ordered the beef burger and added a fried egg. The burger was huge and juicy! The fries were just okay. The service was extremely fast. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The views were nice from the window seats. They have tables and booths available. Additionally they have a full device bar where you can dine or have cocktails. I will definitely return to try other menu items!

Yelp
Straight . We had a quick pit stop before our flight and we were HUNGRAAAY! We had the Burger and Smoked Turkey Club. Fast service. Amazing food with quality taste. We enjoyed. Sorry it was so good I didn't have the time to take a picture ‍

Yelp
I know people have a lot of interesting things to say about the Denver Airport... but one thing I haven't heard people gossiping about is how solid the food is at Root Down. Whenever I have a layover at this airport, I get excited because Root Down is one of the few restaurants I've ever been to within an airport that has good food that is dietary restriction friendly with comfortable seating and friendly service. I always make a point to eat here when I have a time to kill! Recently, I got the turkey burger on a gluten free bun. It was delicious! The bun didn't fall apart and all the sauces and toppings added so much flavor to an otherwise boring turkey burger. The staff was also really friendly and helpful. My server was personable and helpful throughout every interaction with both me and fellow diners around me. It's airport food so it's going to be a little pricey but because of the quality and the flavor, I wasn't mad about it. I wish more airports had places like Root Down!
google avatar

Natalie F.

Yelp
Root Down is my go-to when I fly out of DIA. It brings the trendy vibe of the city to the airport and the food is so delicious! I got the hot honey sweet potato waffle fries this time and the flavor is so good. They have a little roasted flavor and the hot honey packs a nice punch! I usually get the Bahn Mi Turkey Burger and it's one of the best turkey burgers I've had!
google avatar

Vanessa B.

Yelp
Root Down has been my go to place in DIA for years at this point. When I travel it is always hard to find fresh food, this place is great. Fresh salads, good service, nice seating if you have the time too. I always get the roasted beet salad that has golden and regular beets goat cheese, nuts, and a wonderful dressing. It always hits the spot and is a nice meal, large enough to satisfy but not too heavy.

Yelp
My husband and I had a layover in Denver and we had lots of time to kill and actually have some time to sit down and enjoy a meal. I checked on this trusty Yelp app to direct me to a decent sit-down restaurant and it pulled up Root Down (RD). I later found out that this restaurant was also featured on Yelp's list of best airport restaurant in the country, so I was excited to try it! RD is located in Terminal C closer to the center where all the eateries and shops are. There was a bit of a line, but we were quickly seated. When you line up in the halls of the airport, you think nothing of it, but as soon as they start walking you to the back, that's when the delight kicks in! The restaurant opens up to a bright space with large windows to a view of large parked aircrafts! There is a higher deck of seating and on the ceilings, they have suspended dozens and dozens of globes on the ceiling and they also have a plant/greenery wall to bring a little of the outdoors in. Such a different vibe from where we were initially standing with the hustle of travelers in the hallway. They seated us on a side-by-side seating table and it was just perfect so, both of us were facing the view. I noticed that they even had single seats for solo travelers. - Noms - Shoyu ramen - Our server recommended the ramen, so I went with that. It's a vegetarian kombu broth and the only meat in it is the guanciale bacon, so you can make this vegetarian if you prefer and even vegan if you take out the eggs. It had 2 soy braised soft boiled eggs in my soup (love bonus eggs!), but if I'm being honest, the noodles were slightly overdone and a bit too swollen for my taste. Overall, great flavor. Beef burger - My husband was definitely enjoying this burger. I managed to steal a bite and the beef patty was cooked to preference and loved the pretzel bun! It's served with sweet potato fries, also nice and crisp. If you need other recs, the server also recommended the duck wings and lamb sliders. The server was a sweetheart too. Very helpful and very efficient. If you're in Denver Airport and have some time to sit down, definitely stop in at RD. Oh, and they also have a grab and go kiosk right next to the host/ess station. We went back to grab a turkey sando for our flight back home since we were traveling around dinner time. The sando was great too! They make it without condiments so it doesn't get soggy, but they do have the condiment packets available for you to apply at the time of consumption. Safe travels, Friends, and never stop exploring!

Yelp
I love this airport restaurant. I was looking around the airport for a place to eat since I had 6 hours layover in Denver and found this spot. It was very busy, and we had to wait but I this staff member who was helping me was very sweet and understanding. My mom wanted to change tables since the table we got was not great for eating and the staff was so accommodating and found us a new table. Also the food was delicious, I really enjoyed my breakfast burrito but the sweet potato fries was really soggy and not warm at all when we got jt so it was a little disappointing. Overall a great experience and would recommend this restaurant when you have time in Denver airport!
google avatar

Crystal G.

Yelp
I ordered a soup to go because I didn't have much time between flight transfer. There was no line and I asked the cashier if a soup can be ready to go quickly, in a few minutes I don't have very long, I would need to go right away. She said absolutely. I waited as she stood there and played with her phone and forgot about my order. After a few minutes I asked if she can check on the order. She had completely forgotten and seemed a little annoyed that she had to check. She came back and handed a hot bowl of soup to me and said watch out it's hot. I asked for a bag, utensils, etc and her reply was the bag is too big and didn't even offer me anything. I ran to my gate and to top it all off the soup was very spicy with no other flavor. Disgusting, waste of money and service was terrible.
google avatar

Jake W.

Yelp
The food, got the beef burger and ordered it medium. It came back more well but still was delicious. Also got the smoked turkey club and it was good as well. If you add the smoked Gouda cheese to it. We ordered the Chris cut sweet potato fries as well done and they came in soggy but we managed. The service was outstanding and Rachel was on point and got us everything we needed faster than you could get at McDonald's. The ambience was on the side, but everyone just wanted to eat and you can tell everybody was just relaxing and I had a great view of the airport terminals. They do offer military and law-enforcement discount so be sure to ask
google avatar

Aesha E.

Yelp
I stopped at the kiosk/express/to-go section instead of eating in, because I had about 20 minutes before my flight started boarding (and with an infant I was not about to be late for that!). But they don't use tap to pay/Apple/Samsung pay in 2024, for real? That's annoying. And the woman barely even acknowledged me, barely speaking except to say they don't use digital payments. She said she didn't have a bag, so I guess the guy who left just before me took the last one or something. Prices are ridiculous but that's to be expected in an airport environment so I don't fault them for that. The sandwich was good, and hopefully it wasn't the cause of my stomach discomfort later in the day. But it definitely hit the spot when I hadn't had much to eat in the last couple days so for that I'm glad.
google avatar

May G.

Yelp
Had a few hours layover in Denver and this was a perfect spot to sit and have brunch! I got seated at a single-person table with enough room to fit my carry-on luggage under the table. My server, Natasha, was sweet and attentive. The vegan take on pozole was delicious and the serving size is decent for one person, it is pretty filling. I decided to indulge in a breakfast burrito too. I got the one with chorizo, but they do have a vegan version of it as well. It was a good sized burrito and was well filled. Recommend Root Down if you're hungry and have some time to kill while waiting for your flight.
google avatar

Erik F.

Yelp
Only a pre-flight cider today, and not the usual fantastic Turkey Banh Mi. Excellent drink, beer, and cider menu served by the attentive bartender team. The host staff is also on-game with finding seats, as Root Down is often wall to wall busy.
google avatar

Aparajita S.

Yelp
My friend and I stopped by here after reaching our gate to get a bite to eat before flying out. While I had low standards for any restaurant in the airport, I was surprised to see high ratings and definitely agree with the quality of the food served here! It is a bit on the pricier end but worth it! I went with the standard breakfast and got the soyrizo. The star of the dish was definitely the soyrizo which was seasoned super well. I also really liked the croissant, eggs and potatoes on the side it came with. It was all super filling but didn't leave me feeling bad in the end. We got our food pretty quickly and our waitress was super sweet. There's plenty of seating inside and at the bar. If you are looking for a filling meal, definitely check out this place!

Tom D.

Yelp
I landed at Terminal B at 6:50 a.m. and had a three plus hour layover. So I shot over to Terminal C to check out breakfast @ Root Down. I chose the "Standard Breakfast", described as two scrambled eggs and a croissant. I added Polidori sausage, a local Colorado purveyor, for a $2 up charge. My meal was delivered faster than a McDonald's breakfast sandwich, which I interpreted, correctly, to be a bad sign. I suspect that most of the ingredients are already prepared, maybe even the eggs, because they were not hot, just warm. That goes for the coffee also. Everything else was less than warm, just above room temperature. The plate was colorful, but that's the only thing good I can say about this breakfast. Service was best described as sleepy and bored, at least that's the impression I got from my server. It matched the food - room temperature. The Root Down website boasts about the architecture of the space. You don't see it or feel it. It's crowded, cramped, and looks very worn. It didn't feel fresh or clean. I'm not sure the age of this space, but it needs a refresh badly. My advice is, don't believe the hype. This is "airport " food and nothing better...in fact, a McDonald's breakfast sandwich would beat it handily.

Yelp
Fantastic place to get a drink and dinner before a flight! Service is great and vibe is fun and relaxing!! I enjoyed a delightful Coors Light and a Turkey Bacon Club sandwich minus cheese and bun. Everything was delicious!!
google avatar

Tammy S.

Yelp
My husband and I came here before our flight and ordered a burger (medium rare) with regular fries. I got a Negroni and my husband ordered a beer. The drink was delicious!! The burger was nowhere near medium rare but it was still juicy and flavorful so we didn't ask for a redo. I don't usually like bacon on my burgers but this bacon was magically delicious! The sauce is not too much either. The fries were cold so we asked for hot fries and got them in no time. Our server was nice and efficient. The globes on the ceiling were fitting for an airport and I would come back here. I know the breakfasts are amazing!!
google avatar

Nini M.

Yelp
The restaurant is nice and big. Our server was great! But the food was just not up to par. I got the ramen which they are pretty popular for and it was not good. It lacked so much flavor... my friend got the turkey sandwich which was good but the sweet potatoe fries were stale and gross. We asked for another which they were nice to give us but the second batch still wasn't that great... maybe other items are better on the menu..

Yelp
Root down is one of my favorite restaurants, and I'm always excited to fly through the Denver airport because I hope to be able to make it here. It's a busy spot for good reason, and it's pretty packed. Some of the tables are more loungey --short tables with benches all in a large circle. Great service. This past visit I think we didn't order right. The posole wasn't great--a bit too tart and lacking the oomph and delicious chile flavor I expect. The jicama tacos with shrimp wasn't ideal for airport eating. The flavor is great but in an airport not keen to pick up a wet taco with my hands. It was pretty messy. The hummus Caesar was excellent and fresh and bright so I'd get that again. I'd still be back and I wish every airport had one!
google avatar

Cynthia B.

Yelp
I got to the airport early just to get Root Down for lunch. Their ramen is so good and they don't have it at the Denver location. The service was super friendly and the ambience, well it's the airport. If you sit "outside" it's good for people watching. Of traveling solo they have some solid work stations too.
google avatar

Amanda G.

Yelp
Best airport food I've had, super fast service and delicious food! This place is also super groovy with the seating. Definitely recommend if you got time in between flights!
google avatar

Adam C.

Yelp
I'll keep this short. Great service, live plant wall. And the most delicious food I've had in an airport in about a decade. Kids meals were great, too.
google avatar

Nicole S.

Yelp
Maybe the best food I've ever had in an airport! Not to mention gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options in an airport?! Truly unheard of! I was seated right away and got my food within 5 minutes of ordering! I got the GF turkey club and it was delicious. Their sauces are definitely made in house. I'm not one to even use mustard often but I found myself dipping my fries in the mustard, it was so good! The seating area is cute and spunky and they have a plant wall within too! Love this place!
google avatar

Kyle S.

Yelp
For an airport, this place hit all the right notes! The menu is a little limited, but I get it. It's mainly sandwiches, salads, and a couple of entrees that are further out there. I tried both the turkey club and turkey burger bahn mi. Loved the spice and flavor on the burger, but the club was solid as well. Both came with sweet potato waffle fries. I know! Didn't know they could be forced into that shape! Those came out in a metal cup which kept them nice and toasty the whole meal through. Service was great and kept the meal moving with plenty of time to catch our flight. Expect 30-40 minutes. I really liked the environment as well. More restaurants in airports should have explicitly single tables. The fabrics on the booths were comfortable and really nice. The white penny tile with white grout probably looked great in concept, but seems like it would be impossible to keep clean with roller bags. Tables are tight, but big enough. There was time and care put into the design!

Yelp
After a short wait, I got a very cute cubby table for one on my layover in Denver. I was able to quickly put in my order for a vegan ramen. Despite the vegan ramen removing the meat and egg, there was an $8 upcharge to add tofu. Still I was grateful for the option, and ordered it. My ramen came, no tofu. Despite my waitress checking in on diners on either side of me multiple times, she didn't stop by my table or ask how my food was. I finally got her attention when I was more than half done with my soup (I eat slowly). She put in the order and I got the tofu at the end of my meal - unfortunately with a sour taste that was at least improved by the sriracha that I separately had to request. The ramen was decent, with mushrooms, bok choy, and (interestingly) kimchi. Nice option to have as a sit down meal at the airport, but I might try fast food next time.

Yelp
Still so happy this gluten free option is in the Denver airport. It's worth the shuttle ride to terminal C if you have a few hours to spare! Gluten free sweet potato waffle fries? YES PLEASE!!!

Yelp
The reviews are accurate Yelpstars! Great food and service at this Root Down in Denver International. Natasha our server went above and beyond. Breakfast service had ended along with the coffee but she went out of her way to find me some. The lamb sliders were tasty and the kids menu was very nice for those participating in Yelp Jr. I'll be sure to come back next time I fly through Denver International.

Trey d.

Yelp
Best airport food I've ever had. Lamb sliders were so tasty. Only thing that topped them was the mind blowing cornbread appetizer. My companion had the posole and loved it. I'd transition concourses for this place.

Yelp
One of my favorite meals as I travel is at this restaurant - if I change planes in Denver, I'm eating here. Kind of cramped and strangely laid out, but a very high-quality and eclectic menu and a kitchen that knows how to deliver. If you like chicken wings, and you've never eaten here, spend the money on an order of the duck wings. Today, my server Cami recommended the pharaoh and kale salad paired with the carrot Thai soup with chutney. It was spectacular and perfect. She then brought me an order of the hot honey sweet potato fries if I had room I'd order dessert, but I don't.

Yelp
GREAT AIRPORT FOOD ! Most of you would say you are off your head Michael. My wife and I were our way to New York, NY for a 2 week vacation but first we had a 2 hour layover at Denver Airport....our 3rd layover here in recent times. LUNCH ! The only place we intended to have lunch was at Root Down..it was great the last 2 times so why change. Luckily we were already in Terminal C so we simply had to find the restaurant. OF COURSE ! When we arrived at 10.40am there were quite a few people waiting for a table...goes to show this place is the real deal. VERY EARLY LUNCH ! Keep in mind we had been at it since 3am that morning and wouldn't arrive at our apartment in Upper Manhattan, NY until around 8pm. Maddie the sweet hostess told us there was a 20 minute wait for a table...of course we will wait. BUT THEN ! Miraculously I heard Maddie call out my name within 1 minute...I must have connections I didn't know about. My wife couldn't believe we nabbed a table so fast. Shortly after we sat down a fun server named Eric dropped by to help us. CRAFT BEER ! The one sure thing I remembered from our 2 previous lunch visits here was they had a great craft beer selection. I asked about a couple of them on the menu and Eric offered to bring me samples. THE WINNER ! I decided on a Weldwerks "Juicy Bits" Hazy IPA - 6.7% abv. Within a minute I was sipping on my delicious ice cold hazy IPA. FOOD ! We both decided on the BEEF BURGER ( Bacon, Aged Cheddar, Sriracha Aioli & Pretzel Bun w/ Sweet Potato Waffle Cut Fries )...medium rare. My wife took the option of Seasoned Regular Fries. SO BUSY ! Let me tell the place was packed to the max....deservedly so. FAST SERVICE ! Our fabulous looking Beef Burgers & Fries arrived in a very short time courtesy of a cheerful food runner. In between bites we had a nice chat with Mark & Stefanie the couple at the adjacent table. My wife remarked how cool it was that our pretzel buns actually looked like pretzels. HALLELUJAH ! Man alive were our burgers super delicious...the soft pretzel buns held their own and didn't fall apart. WOW ! My wife went nuts over her totally scrumptious seasoned fries.....gee they were even tastier than my yummy sweet potato waffle cut fries. On the way out we caught up with Brian the GM at the front entrance who thanked us for our our patronage. Big kudos to Maddie the super hostess and Eric our amazing server for making us feel so welcome. HANDS DOWN THE BEST FOOD, DRINKS & SERVICE AT THIS AIRPORT ! Yelp
I stopped here on a layover and had a great breakfast! (Denver Intl. Airport Terminal C.) I love the fact that the menu is mostly made up of gluten-free options. I had the Buttermilk Pancakes that are served with Huckleberry Devonshire Cream - yum!! The menu has a diverse and interesting range of choices and a welcome change from most options for airport breakfasts, more on par with your local weekend favorite brunch eatery. Definitely a must try if you find yourself hungry in DEN!

Yelp
Root Down gives such an elevated "airport food" experience and it was evident by the wait for a table. I hadn't gotten a chance to try the actual restaurant location so happy to get a last chance to try it before heading back to the bay! My server was very sweet and accommodating. Menu boasts a variety of delicious and healthy items (the salads that passed by me looked so fresh and vibrant) but I was craving a good old cheeseburger, which came in a pretzel bun and I chose sweet potato fries (for some of that Vitamin A lol). The burger was so good- hot, flavorful and juicy. Sweet potato fries were fine and the sauces were a nice compliment. Ambiance was consistently bustling with people and had to ask my server for the check. Wish all airport food was like this!

Yelp
Unusually good food for an airport - fresh and creative menu. Service is snappy and friendly. The ambience is so pleasant you almost forget you have to catch a flight!

Yelp
Long layover! Stopped for brunch. Three of us had delicious breakfast tacos & hubby had Ramen. Great presentation! He enjoyed it. I had ice tea & it was a bit watery. Waitress was busy. It's a nice vibe with great views outside!

Yelp
Five years after first dining at Root Down in the Denver airport and several trips later, I can definitively say this is my favorite airport restaurant. I look forward to flying into Denver and its C terminal because that means I will hopefully dine here. And considering how many flights go through Denver, this has become a bit of a tradition. First, I need to give a shout out to the servers and hosts. Each time, they have asked me when my flight was so they can make sure the food comes out before that. Why don't all airport restaurants do this?!? And the ramen, my favorite on the menu, is consistently delicious. After finishing a bowl, you'll be in nap mode on your plane. My daughter enjoyed her chicken tenders, and my husband even snuck one away to put on his salad. And my son's mind was blown about the fact that pancakes were on the kids menu. If you're in the Denver airport, SEEK THIS OUT!

Yelp
This review is for the pick up / quick bites area. The hummus lunch box is a perfect snack. Cucumbers, tomatoes, crackers, dates and olives with a veggie hummus. We also bought the fruit parfait. Again, this was fantastic. Interesting topping mix with fresh tasting parfait and good (not soggy) fruit. Server was helpful and informed.
