"This tiny house that looks like it was plucked from a country road and dumped along Stone Way has an incredible lineup of usual suspects, like pork ribs and smoked chicken thighs. But it’s the sandwiches where things get really good. And since Roro serves their sandwiches in miniature form, it’s wise to prioritize the sliders. That way, you can experience pastrami that competes with the best Jewish delis in town, a homemade turkey club, and something called the buffalo chop, a.k.a. a pile of pulled pork and brisket chunks coated in buffalo sauce like chicken wings along with a drizzle of tangy ranch. Also not to be missed is the very refreshing succotash." - Kayla Sager-Riley

Very friendly service, the staff lady helped us with the menu and sides, and told me which ones I could have with my gluten, egg and dairy allergies. We chose these 2: Pulled pork meat (no bun), vinaigrette slaw, succotash Beef brisket sandwich, mac n cheese, succotash We found it a bit expensive, this lunch cost us $56 with 2 bottles of water. Might not come back for that price. Outside picnic tables were casual seating.

I picked up some dinner the other day and I liked it. I wanted to get the beef brisket but they ran out so I got the chicken thigh and smoked pastrami (choice of 2 barbeques) plate. The portion was good enough for me and my wife and I took the jalapeno garlic mashed potato and Mac and cheese on the side. Overall a great place and would definitely come back.

Good bbq in Seattle. Service was super friendly. The brisket was fantastic and so was the potato salad. The ribs, chicken and slaw were good, just not great.

Great portion size, amazing pulled pork, I like my macaroni thicker and with some color but their Mac was good. The slaw was one of my favorites of any I've had over the years. It had zest, bite, and plenty of crunch. Their beans... smoky n spicy, just loved it all so much

Google
The guy who took my order provided helpful recommendations as I asked his opinion on items I was ordering. I got a sizable tray of food at what I think was a good value. The brisket wasn't super moist but it wasn't dry either, right in between. Not a lot of smoke ring but the blackened crust was delicious. Ribs tasted good and were quite meaty, again not moist but not dry. The chicken thighs were quite dried out and I had to use the sauce or sip tea with it. Sweet & smokey sauce is a lot better than the Carolina sauce. The beans had good texture, in a watery sauce which was spicy. The creamy slaw was a good mixture but I should have chosen the tangy version for more flavor. Overall it was a great lunch and I was happy with the experience. I didn't see a garbage can but there was a buss tub, so it wasn't clear if I was supposed to just set my whole used tray in there before I left.

I really, really wanted to love RoRo and have been dying to visit for years. Finally I made it by for dinner and man, what a disappointment. Coming from the South I know good barbecue and this just wasn't it. I'm giving three stars mostly because it pains me too much to give less. I had the two meat plate which comes with your choice of two sides or fries. I opted for the ribs and pulled pork with baked beans and mac & cheese. The half rack of ribs were soooooo dry. I would have needed a dozen of their sauce containers to moisten it up. The pulled pork was "pig pickin" style, not chopped and while dry it was easier to sauce up. Baked beans were good, nice spice to them but mac & cheese was pastey and cold (as was all the meat.) Bummer for the plate (at $28) to not come with any of their cornbread. I also tried the buffalo chop slider which was the highlight of the meal by far. It was sizable for a slider with great flavor though could have used more buffalo sauce (thou solved with RoRo sauce.) The screamy coleslaw was great so definitely recommend that as a side. There's seating for about 20ish inside and there are a few picnic tables outside. Order at the counter and they'll bring it out to you. One other note, the prices were more expensive than on their website when I visited. Probably won't be making it back here anytime soon...

Stopped here for lunch with some friends and my partner over the weekend after going to the Woodland Park Zoo. The food was tasty! The staff was friendly and and quick to correct a wrong side issue. Extremely generous portion of shoe string potato fries. Easily the Second best BBQ I've had in Washington

Google
Even better than I remembered (from pre-pandemic times)! Such friendly and quick service. Got the pulled pork deluxe (with slaw) sandwich with shoestring fries and beef brisket sandwich deluxe with mac n' cheese and potato salad. Sandwiches were definitely the highlight but sides were good too.

Yelp
It appears that RoRo's has changed from a BBQ place to Mexican food. This was one of my favorite BBQ places in Seattle!

Yelp
I agree with other yelpers on this place. I had high hopes. I love a great bbq joint and during my trip to Seattle, I was craving bbq and went to Yelp of course to find a place to try out. RoRo BBQ & Grill was a the top of the recommendations so we traveled from our airbnb to check it out. First off, parking is just street parking so it makes it a bit difficult to secure a parking spot if you're coming at a busier time. We ordered food to go: Shoestring fries, Pork ribs, pulled pork, tri-tip and chicken and it was just alright. Maybe we should have paired the food with bbq sauce but the quality of the meat looked great but unfortunately wasn't too flavorful and some were just dry. I'm the type of Yelper to try out a place regardless of the hype and reviews and make my own decision about it. I would still recommend Yelpers to try this place out, it could be up to their standards but unfortunately for me it missed the mark.

Audrey L.

Yelp
I had some pretty high expectations for this place given all the good reviews, but I felt like the bbq was just ok. I haven't had much bbq in Seattle, so maybe this is good by Seattle standards. I got the pulled pork sandwich with a side of sweet potato tots. The pulled pork sandwich had a good amount of meat in it, but I felt like the meat was too dry. I got some RoRo bbq sauce and really liked it though! I also liked the sweet potato tots and felt like it came with a pretty sizable portion. I also got to try the Mac and cheese and coleslaw sides. Really enjoyed these, especially the mac and cheese! Not sure if came in on a off day, but I wasn't really impressed by the bbq here and felt that the meat was too dry and not flavorful enough. The sides are tasty though!

Yelp
Cozy little spot perfect for a meal post climbing given the location! Employees are fantastic, super friendly and welcoming. I guess it can be pricey but it's standard for barbeque. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Parking is all street, just like most restaurants on this strip of Fremont. I snagged a BBQ Platter with ribs, brisket, and pastrami. The platter comes with either two sides or fries, so I opted for jojos. We also had a BBQ Sundae and some sliders. BBQ Platter - a hefty item perfect for sharing. Even better for the indecisive as you can try different items. Two or three people would be great, or take some home for leftovers. Ribs are for sure one of the better, tastier items. Pastrami was also very good. Brisket felt a bit disappointing and underwhelming, but not sure if that was simply because the other meats were better. Fries come as a large bed or you can get multiple sides. For the most part, the sides are standard. BBQ Sundae - very interesting item that blends flavors as a unique experience. It's more or less a BBQ sandwich without the bread, so almost keto friendly but there are some extra beans inside for taste and contents. Pulled Pork Sliders - sliders are a great way to try the different meats here without committing to a larger sandwich or burger. Or simply a nice snack for when you're not as hungry. Balanced serving of coleslaw and meat so that both flavors are shared and not overwhelming one another with a fluffy bun.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years and have to say, my experience for dinner last night was incredibly disappointing across service, quality, and value. I walked into the restaurant at 5:57pm on a Tuesday, with two kids under 6... Service was such a let down. As I approached the counter I was abruptly told the dining room was closed. I turned around in shock to see three separate parties eating, and, noted it wasn't even 6pm while the restaurant was slated to close at 8pm. When I asked again, the line was some jumbled mix of "new restaurant norms that you've heard about" which was even more confusing since clearly I had no idea and frankly wouldn't have brought my atypical child to one of his favorite (former?) restaurants. The food did come out quick, but that ends up hurting us later... Quality standards have entirely slipped. I used to bring BBQ experts to this place and they were blown away with sear, char, moisture, all the things that made sense to them and I said something like "yeah, I like that too!" Today, even I can tell the standards have dropped. Not only on the mains, but also the sides. Our meats were fine last night with some undercooked portions. The sides were all wrong, fries barely cooked, barely even yellowed! Tots mushy and also terribly undercooked. Finally, they forgot our corn bread sides but I couldnt really tell quickly as they staple all bags closed for...a reason? Value shouldn't need a huge recap of the disappointments above except to connect the cost of meal, $60. I dont know about you, but when I spend $60 dollars on a sandwich, fries, tots, a side of chicken, and corn bread one SHOULD expect a high quality experience. Comparing to other neighborhood restaurants where a parent could take small kids, eating for three can be MUCH cheaper and more satisfying. All to say, I'm incredibly disappointed with the "new" version of this restaurant.

David K.

Yelp
The staff were very friendly and had great recommendations. Loved the general atmosphere inside. I had brisket, pastrami, and pulled chicken. The brisket was oddly dry, the pastrami was better and the pulled chicken was great. Their sauces are very good and I enjoyed the cornbread. I'd come again, but would be hoping for moister and more delicate brisket.

Gwen R.

Yelp
Kaitlin was a tremendous help in describing the delicious choices. Decided on the Buffalo Chop slider, pulled pork & beef brisket plate with Seattle succotash and Mom's macaroni salad. These dishes were all delicious flavor memories that Roro has elevated. This place is my Seattle go to for the Que!!!

Michelle Q.

Yelp
It was good! Our waiter was especially kind and friendly. Recommend the sundae which was a unique menu item.

Robert S.

Yelp
They recently switched over to Mexican cuisine after losing their smoker, but they didn't skip a beat. Their burritos have the perfect proportions. One of the best burritos in the Seattle area. People that know how to cook good meat are exactly who you want making Mexican food. Help them out in their new direction:

Melissa T.

Yelp
Not a great value, we ordered at the window and waited and struck up a conversation with the staff ... but they still managed to miss giving us one of the large sides we had ordered. Even without the miss, it's fairly pricey for the amount of food you end up getting

Parnian V.

Yelp
The cavewoman genes jumped out in consuming this. The Seattle succotash could use a bit more acid to cut through the fatty meat, but the garlic mash, sauces and meat were superb. Please give the gentleman who was working the floor today a raise, he single-handedly took orders and served the relatively full restaurant while maintaining kindness.

Mia K.

Yelp
Almost $50 lunch for 2 of tender bbq meat sandwiches with fries and drinks. Pricey but enjoyed it! Made even better sitting on a sunny day at their picnic tables in the shade under the trees right outside their doors. 4* Pulled Pork Sandwich is tender. Had with spicy sauce. Very tender pork but a bit bland. Next time will get a side of coleslaw or succotash and extra. sauce $16 4* Brisket Sandwich is great especially with the +$1 optional Coleslaw, worth it! Had with a sweet sauce. $17+$1 4.5* Shoe String Fries are skinny fries and portion is large $4.50 5* Sweet Potatoe Tots is tasty and sweet but wished it was crispier. Portion was large $4.50 4* Service friendly, gave recommendations when asked Located -closest to NE corner of Stone Way N & 36th St -10 minute walk NE of Gas Works Park

Rob P.

Yelp
Now servings legit street tacos. Bowls, burros, and accompaniments. VERY friendly service and tasty food at reasonable prices. Cold Mexican beers and many others. Delicioso!

Jordaan M.

Yelp
This place is the BEST BBQ in Seattle. Absolutely delicious. It's small and seems like a family owned place.... I always see a people working in the place like stamping the logo on their paper bags and filling the little ramekins of the different bbq sauces etc. So cool. Love the vibe and the food. The are pretty expensive but it's worth it for the amazing food! Oh and lastly, they have the BEST BROWNIES!!! Wish they had them all the time!!!

Leo T.

Yelp
Will definitely be coming back to RoRo's. I got the Buffalo chop sandwich. It's a mix of pulled pork and brisket mixed in a sauce. I switched out the creamy coleslaw and got the vinegar coleslaw instead. 100% recommend that menu item. This place has one of the BEST Mac and cheeses I've ever had. Do yourself a favor and get one. The ribs from RoRo are solid and juicy. Came right of the bone. I love the RoRo sauce too. You can eat inside also (it looks like you can't)

Leif A.

Yelp
This so called Sundae is ridiculously overpriced and not what we wanted whatsoever. How can you change such an insane price for so little meat? And sides smooshed. At least clarify to the customer what they are really purchasing. This is my second bad experience at this place-- the first time I got food poisoning. Avoid avoid avoid.

Sherry W.

Yelp
This was a very satisfying brisket sandwich. It was super tasty and the sauces were delightful as well. I got the beef brisket sandwich and added on coleslaw and pickles. My friend got a beef brisket slider and I think that was a great value because it's just a smaller version of this and cheaper - great if you're not starving. This is probably a go-to spot if you're craving BBQ. The employee that helped me behind the register was also super nice and helpful.

Brad O.

Yelp
The man taking our order at the window was very friendly and helpful. His positive attitude definitely stood out among other restaurants I've been to! I ordered the BBQ Plate with two meats (brisket and pulled pork) and two sides (corn bread and potato salad). The meat was good - not mind-blowing but it passes the bar. Mild smoke taste and tender. The sides were kind of bland, but again, passed the bar. The potato salad looked like mashed potatoes but was served cold. The cornbread was made like a muffin. They provide honey and butter too! The sauce was good - didn't add or detract from the experience of the meat. One sauce was sweet, the other was sweet and spicy. You can order your choice of sauces. They have a few choices, but they all seem to have the same vinegar base, and thus have the same basic taste. The real treat was the strawberry-rhubarb bread pudding for dessert. I would go back again and order that on its own for dessert anytime! Drink menu was extensive for a restaurant of its size. Lots of unique soft drink selections! Overall, a pleasant, sunny evening on the picnic tables with some good Q!

Valerie Y.

Yelp
Decided to stop by RoRo for lunch since we were craving BBQ - super great choice for a rainy day. We decided to get the Three Choice combo, with corn bread and baked beans as our sides, as well as a Sweet Tea! Our three choices of meat were: brisket, ribs, and chicken. I thought they were all pretty good, but my favorite was definitely the brisket. The chicken was a lot better than I expected it to be, and the ribs were alright. I would definitely recommend getting a sauce, because some of the meat was a little dry and the sauce helps out a lot with that. One of the most outstanding things was surprisingly the cornbread! It comes with honey and butter and is super southern. I also fell in LOVE with their sweet tea and would come back in the future just for that. Would highly recommend if you're in the Wallingford/Fremont area!

Kathy Z.

Yelp
Horrible service. They need more employees. I stood at the window for 6 minutes and I was ignored, the counter person left when she got a phone call.

Cody B.

Yelp
This used to be one of my favorite spots in the city.. but has been so inconsistent with quality and staff these past few years.Sometimes the brisket is really good, but most times l it comes out like tree bark. I was about to give them another try today for lunch. tried to place a phone order. A snappy woman answered immediately placing me on hold for 10mins. I continued my drive heading their way thinking they were really busy or something and will take my order sometime during the drive over , I end up getting there before anyone picks the phone up to take my simple order. The place is empty... I kept driving . Rather go to Brileys in Lake City

B V.

Yelp
Food quality 1.5/5 dry and bad overall Service 0/5 the lady she doesnt care about customers. I was standing there waiting for her to Ack me but she stayed at her window talking and joking with a customer That she was done for a while she decided to ignore me. I had to wave someone in the kitcken to help me out. And she def saw me looking for assistance still decided to ignore me. But To collect payment she talked to me right away. Welcome to the great service. I guess that what i should expect in seattle general.

Markus B.

Yelp
A recent visit to Gasworks and found this joint, picnic tables outside, dog friendly, and really tasty food. I preferred sliders, which is an excellent option for a bbq place so you can taste the brisket and the pork! Plentiful and tasty sauce, happy atmosphere, friendly service

Jake 4.

Yelp
The sliders are a great choice if you want to try a few of their different meat options, all of which are delicious. Plenty of great options for sides as well, and the potato wedges are incredible. All of the sauce options were really good. The spicy bbq sauce was a favorite and has a little kick to it. Seating inside and benches outside for when it's a nice day.

Rachel F.

Yelp
We came these two weekends. Food is great and Caitlyn is amazing!! Will come again when we are around

Kirk B.

Yelp
Change the name to your new name. I came looking for Roro's BBQ and found that it's gone. And take down the website. It's a total bait-and-switch maneuver.

Mandy M.

Yelp
Tried this place for a friends birthday and it didn't disappoint. The service was awesome and the food was delicious. Not sure how we'd never heard of it before. I had a BBQ Sundae (first time for everything) and it was great. The only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars is that with the sundae, everything was mixed together so really hard to say how the brisket tasted stand-alone (I'll find out on my next trip). Pro-tip: get the pork rinds.

Katie M.

Yelp
Some of the best Mac n cheese and cornbread I've ever had. I was just visiting Seattle and am so sad to be so far away from this place now. Great little place with some seating there, or you can get takeout and eat at the nearby park, which is what I did. Amazing service and amazing food - highly recommend. Get the cornbread and macaroni and cheese!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mac so creamy and both so flavorful

Hiral P.

Yelp
I would've given this place 3 stars for the food/price. However, I am giving 1 star because of an unsanitary situation. They gave me the wrong side (mac&cheese), I didn't realize until after I took a bite. I went to the window and told them I ordered a different side (Mac salad). They said I was right, apologized, gave me my mac salad, and put the Mac and cheese that I had already taken a bite from back in their inventory to give another customer. I even heard one of the girls working back there say "don't do that, that's gross" to the guy who did it. Food was ok. Indoor is so hot they need AC. Outdoor tables need to be cleaned. Menu a little confusing because under the sandwiches it says "choice of 2 sides or fries" but I paid $16 for the sandwich and they still charged me an extra $6 for sides of cornbread and Mac so it wasn't included as the menu said. Menu is misleading and should be fixed.

Jason R.

Yelp
The pivot to tacos is a success! I'm a southern Californian and they scratch my itch just fine. Delicious Al pastor, yummy veggie options. Friendly staff. Slow cooked Mexican meat is just as tasty as slow smoked bbq!

kunihiro i.

Yelp
My wife and I went to this lovely small BBQ place for the first time. We loved loved loved it. We had pulled pork and roasted beef sandwiches. They were so delicious! The lady at the counter was so friendly and helpful when ordering. By the way, they let you choose your side. I definitely recommend the cornbread. It was the best cornbread I've ever had.

Don H.

Yelp
Hot as hell in Seattle today and didn't feel like walking half a mile, but after 4PM you won't find anywhere to park close to this place. Your walk will not go unrewarded, however. RoRo is small and on a day like today is sweltering inside (they could do with some better HVAC), but get your food and drink and take it outside to one of the four picnic tables arranged past the sidewalk out front. Grab one of the stands with a roll of paper towels from the outside counter and take it to your table - you're going to need it. I had a 2-meat combo of baby back ribs and brisket, sides of potato salad and cornbread. There are some 6 choices of sauces - I went for the spiciest "Rob's Reserve". Went better with the ribs than with the brisket - mainly because the brisket didn't need anything to help it along. Best I've ever had anywhere. Potato salad was some of the best I've had other than the family recipe (everyone else makes it too dry), and the cornbread tastes a lot like Jiffy but that's fine by me. If you're feeling a bit enclosed by "hip" restaurants in the Fremont/Ballard/Wallingford area, this place will get you back to center.

Jamie Y.

Yelp
Service was good, but the food was meh. Meat was over cooked, and the sides tasted generic. Biggest complaint: was charged a processing fee that I was unaware of upon checking my receipt. Not that it should matter, but we dined in. No thanks.

Daniel Z.

Yelp
What an absolute let down. This place has gone down so much in quality. The mac n cheese had no flavor and tasted like kraft. It was soupy and just disgustingly Bland. The meat was fatty and really Poor quality. The slaw was soggy and buns were old, to the point we found a mold spot in it. All this for $32. What a frickin waste. This place was horrendous and not worth a penny.

Christopher L.

Yelp
Great spot to grab some bbq. The pulled pork is great and the ribs are ok. The potato salad is spot on and the Mac and Cheese is good. The RoRo sauce pairs well with the pork. In this instance, the food was delivery but was well packaged and traveled well. Good place to checkout.

Brian G.

Yelp
I love that this place has a pickup window. We are still gun shy about taking our toddler indoors until he is vaccinated, but I take him for long runs in the stroller every Saturday and ww stop at take out windows across the city for snacks. Ro ro is often in our way home and thankfully it is delicious!

Tracy A.

Yelp
Great BBQ joint who also happens to have a tasty burger. Yes, we tried a little bit of everything. The BBQ brisket was delicious as well as the sides, baked beans and mac and cheese. The burger was a nice sized handful with a good flavor. The menu has a large selection. I ordered online, picked up at the window, and the lady in the window was so pleasant. My personal feeling is that all BBQ places in the Seattle area are kind of high priced compared to other states, but I don't feel RoRo is any higher than anyone else in the Seattle area, and I think the portions and the quality are great for the price paid. There will be a return visit in the near future. If I had a wish, it would be that offered greens in their list of delicious sides.

Rpisces G.

Yelp
Casual, small delicious BBQ! Had the pulled pork sandwich, baked beans and creamy coleslaw Friendly staff

Thomas N.

Yelp
I used to be a regular here, but the past three times I've ordered delivery they have canceled the order after an hour of waiting. Very disappointing service for otherwise great BBQ.

Ana H.

Yelp
I was very excited to try RoRo BBQ as I had just moved into the neighborhood, and it had great reviews. Unfortunately, it was a very unpleasant experience, and I will not be returning. I ordered takeout via their website Sunday at 2:19 pm and was told it would be ready for pick up at 2:39 pm. I arrived at the store around that time for pick-up and was essentially ignored by the waitress. After I told her I was there to pick up an order, all she said was to sit down. I genuinely felt as if the staff was annoyed by my presence and was not given my food until 3:03 pm after a quick "I'm sorry" from another staff member. I understand that restaurants may have multiple orders even if they are empty and that the restaurant does catering (someone was picking up multiple trays). If I had known the order would be so late, I would not have ordered RoRo BBQ. Once I got home, a 5-minute walk, I noticed that some food items were cold while others were hot. It is also concerning that so many other reviewers have commented that they got food poisoning, as everyone in my party also got sick that evening (this was the only meal we all shared). We ordered the Brisket Slider (2), Turkey Club Slider, Classic Cheese Burger Slider, BBQ Baked Beans, Mac & Cheese, and cornbread.

Jason L.

Yelp
Few bites into the bread pudding, i found a strand of white/blonde hair in my mouth. None of my family members has this hair color. Gross.

Rockinhorse561 K.

Yelp
Just a little observation, these have to be the smallest side orders I have ever experienced with any restaurant, what gives? A tablespoon or two of beans and mashed potatoes? I'm not calling sparse, but maybe cheap? These were offered with the 3 meat option, sadly no pulled pork though? There should be a law against serving sub standard sides with an order that costs $30.00+.

Charles G.

Yelp
Very close to the best I've had in the PNW. The pulled pork was great to this southerners taste

Nikhil T.

Yelp
A small chicken sandwich (no accompaniments) for $18 plus suggested 25% tip for takeout? It's just overpriced and I could get the same chicken sandwich at a fast food chain or any bar around for $10 bucks. I'm sorry this is not worth at all.

Jason G.

Yelp
I tried the ribs, brisket, and chicken thighs and all of them were very good. It's a nice barbeque place and not that many in the Seattle area. The sides are good too.

M R.

Yelp
Good BBQ! Really nice guy at the counter serving and chatting up customers!! Awesome pastrami!!

Yvette 'Divie' E.

Yelp
RoRo's did me wrong wrong! I like BBQ. I've struggled to find BBQ in Seattle. The struggle continues... What I liked: the nice presentation, large portions, and the right level of saltiness on the shoestring fries. What didn't work: everything else. I ordered the 2 meat combo with fries. The brisket was dry, the ribs were tough (not fall off the bone), the fries were a little light on the potato for my liking. I'm so sad because it looked so good. My next meal out will be seafood...

Carmen D.

Yelp
Has always been my to go spot for some bbq; never disappoints. The lady up in the front was super kind as well.

Gina V.

Yelp
Tiny place puts out some delicious bbq! A pleasant surprise, everything we had was great! Fun atmosphere, lively interaction with owner, lots of fun & good food.

Chenda N.

Yelp
Found this joint while I was across the street picking up baked goods during COVID-19. I noticed they had to-go orders available with picnic tables for guests to sit (6ft away from each other of course). Bonus for me and my friends when we noticed beer and wine was available. Lady behind the window was very friendly and accommodating. Food came out in a timely manner and she came to check on us a few times to make sure we were all good. BBQ was good, along with their sides, including mac and cheese, shoe string fries, and baked beans. We ordered the BBQ brisket sundae, a couple sandwiches, and sides. People were rolling by and placing orders as well, very popular place.
