Rosamunde Sausage Grill is a beloved Mission haunt serving housemade sausages on buns with craft beer in a laid-back, patio-friendly vibe.
"We are very big fans of this all-sausage restaurant. The sandwiches are good, but we usually go with the plate that comes with excellent beans and sauerkraut. The spicy pork and duck are our go-tos, and even the vegan sausages won’t make you want to jump into a pile of steak. The space is pretty sparse and very bar-like, which makes sense considering they have tons of beer options and your only food choices are sausage or sausage." - Taylor Abrams
"The original Rosamunde is a tiny stall across the Bay with only a few stools for the rare diner who doesn’t take their Wurst next door to the legendary beer bar. The new locations, including this Oakland one, bring it all under one roof with a dizzying selection of sausages —from duck-and-fig to a classic brat— and a rotating selection of craft beers on tap. Just don’t forget to top it off with some whole-grain mustard and curry ketchup." - Pitch Interactive
"In a surprising turn of events, Rosamunde Sausage Grill’s last remaining location at Mission and 24th has been saved from permanent closure. The space was closed for about two weeks, and is now back with the same long menu of sausages and beer for enjoying on their (now parklet-less) front patio. " - Ricky Rodriguez
"In yet another case of closure reversal, 13-year-old Rosamunde Sausage Grill on Mission Street announced it is returning, after initially closing permanently on Tuesday, November 21. Mission Local caught the news after Rosamunde shared an Instagram post announcing longtime Rosamunde bartender Danny Mendez and his partner Sandra Pulley will take over ownership." - Dianne de Guzman
"Rosamunde’s sausages have been a staple of San Francisco for more than 20 years, beginning with its first location next to Lower Haight beer haven Toronado. Rosamunde grew to add on two locations in Oakland, while also adding on a second San Francisco location in the Mission in 2010, serving its sausages alongside craft beer. The Temescal shop has since shuttered in 2017, while the original Haight Street location closed its doors in late 2019, followed by the Swan’s Market outpost in September 2020. Now, Rosamunde announced via Instagram that the final shop at 2832 Mission Street is closing as of Tuesday, November 21. The business was popular with customers for its various sausages, including cheddar brats, hot Italian, wild boar, merguez, and chicken cherry, all served on French rolls. Despite the end of the last Rosamunde location, there is still one way fans can get their hands on its popular sausages — the Rosamunde menu will live on at Willkommen in the Castro." - Dianne de Guzman
