The 23 Essential Tulum Restaurants

"If a clubby rainforest patio sounds like your kind of scene, head to Rosanegra, a wealthy playpen billed as a tribute to Latin America (that’s such a hit with Chilangos that they opened one in Mexico City’s upscale Polanco neighborhood). Soft light emanates from hanging bamboo coche lampshades, as beautiful patrons wave sparklers and dine on ceviche served in terrariums, A5 wagyu tacos with excessively sauce-dotted plates, and giant churro hoops shooting out of martini glasses. Order the millionaire, a surf-and-turf combo of a Hyogo Prefecture 8-ounce New York Kobe cut, paired with lobster tail imported from the Mediterranean or a Nigerian U2 Tiger Shrimp. If you’ve booked a Sea Villa at Azulik, you can afford this." - Bill Esparza

We had the best time at Rosanegra, a charming Latin American Mexican restaurant with an incredible vibe. Though the prices were on the higher side, it was absolutely worth it for the experience. The ambience was warm, beautiful, and made our evening feel truly special. The service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall joy of the night. The food was fantastic—flavorful, fresh, and well-presented. Portion sizes were a bit on the smaller side given the price, but the quality made up for it. Watching the fireworks while dining was the perfect touch. We loved everything about our visit and would gladly return!

If you’re traveling in Tulum and looking for a place where you can enjoy good food while singing and dancing at the same time, this is the perfect spot! The atmosphere is lively, fun, and full of energy. As for food, I’d definitely recommend the burger—it was delicious and a great match for the vibrant vibe of the place. Just make sure to book your reservation in advance, as this is one of the city’s hotspots and it’s almost always full.

This spot has been a go-to hotspot for the past few years. Even when the rest of Beachtown feels quiet, this restaurant is always buzzing. The vibe is lively and fun—definitely not the place if you’re looking for something low-key. The food can be a hit or miss, but overall it’s been pretty solid. What really keeps me coming back is the service—always so warm and attentive. I’ve been coming here since 2017, and every time, I’ve felt genuinely well taken care of.

Adriana y Heriberto were the best servers!! So attentive. I didn’t like a drink and they send it back. They made sure all of our dishes were up to par. I got the passion fruit margarita and the shrimp tacos. They were so delicious. They also gave us both a complimentary dessert for our birthday

The food was good. The atmosphere reminds you a club night. The music was loud so don't expect to hear the people sitting at your table. The music was competing with the club across the street. There was a fire show also. Lovely!! We had a party of ten. Our check was well over $1,000 USD. Average is about 200/300 USD per person. Don't expect to have the check split because they will only do one check. So travel with people you love and trust 😂. Pay attention to your check because they will charge you items that you did not order and will argue with you about it. So check your receipt. Remember you are paying for the experience. So if you want the crowd and rush go on the weekend. We had several drinks items: dirty bird, margaritas, sangria, Scarlett, and beer. The food ranged from Octopus, Hamachi, seared tuna, mushrooms, rack of lamb, steaks, bone marrow, and birthday cake, After dinner it appeared that everyone went across the street to the club. They offered hookah there as well.

🔥 Come for the Show, Stay for the Spectacle. RosaNegra is where high-energy nightlife meets upscale jungle dining. It’s a full-sensory experience from the moment you walk in—think pulsing music, fire dancers, sparklers, and a setting that feels straight out of a movie. The interior is spectacular: soaring stone walls, glowing lanterns, and lush textures create a dramatic scene. The entertainment is fun and lively, striking a perfect balance between flair and sophistication. RosaNegra knows how to throw a party without losing its polished edge. The service is fast, attentive, and completely in sync with the rhythm of the night. Just a heads-up: the music gets very loud as the night goes on. It adds to the high-energy vibe, but it can make conversation difficult—especially if you’re hoping for a more relaxed dinner. As for the food, it was a bit of a mix: 🌮 Tacos – Beautifully presented on blue corn tortillas with avocado and house salsas. Fresh, but the flavors didn’t quite deliver the punch we expected. 🥗 Burrata – A highlight. Silky, rich, and perfectly paired with arugula and toasted seeds. Easily the best dish of the night. 🫓 Bread and salsa trio – A fun, flavorful start with great textures and bold flavors to wake up the palate. ✨ Pro Tip: Book for around 9 PM—that’s when the vibe shifts from dinner to full-blown spectacle, complete with performers and a vibrant nightclub-like atmosphere. In the end, RosaNegra is less about a culinary journey and more about the experience—but it’s an unforgettable one. Come hungry, come dressed to impress, and let the night unfold. 🪩

Google
Pros: great location, nice vibes, amazing sea bass, fabulous risotto, tasty bread, and air conditioning in the bathroom, but that's about it. Cons: pushy waitstaff to purchase bottles, overpriced liquor and wine, tourist trap, mediocre food, lousy music selection, no bill splitting. The music across the street was better. If you just want to say you've been, then go. Get the sea bass! Otherwise, skip it.

We went to celebrate a birthday, the place is spacious, has a nice and warm decoration, with their music they welcome you, it has a very good atmosphere, good music, although a little loud for my taste, the cocktail I had was very tasty, but I asked for it without alcohol. The ceviche was delicious and the bread was soft and soft. I ordered a Tasmanian Salmon, imagining that the combination of flavors was very tasty, but for my taste it was too short and overcooked. We ordered a chocolate sphere for dessert, very rich chocolate with the combination of vanilla ice cream and red fruits. Very tasty everything, the only thing I could mention so that they pay attention to that detail is that when I went to the girls bathroom, some wood on the floor had large holes from which an unpleasant smell of drainage was released, honestly I could not be in the bathroom and had to leave. In my opinion, they should pay a little attention to these details, since the women's bathroom is a space in which we should also feel comfortable. Other than that, everything was fine.

Yelp
If you're looking for dinner and a party, Rosa Negra is the spot. This place is an experience. The vibe is high-energy from the start, with music, sparklers, drums, and even fire dancers making appearances throughout the night. It's definitely not your average dinner setting, but it's a ton of fun if you're in the mood to celebrate. The food! Delicious. Presentation is beautiful and the quality is definitely there. For apps we tried the empanadas. We ordered a fish that they light up on fire and an ice cream cake that was also on fire to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. We loved the show. Drinks are tasty and you can't forget the shots! Service was great friendly, fast, and really on top of everything. They clearly know the menu and help with recommendations

Yelp
Extremely disappointed. Put our party of 7 on a 4 person table. We had this reservation for a month. The table was so small they were removing the appetizers before we could try it. We ordered an overpriced bottle of Don Julio, and we watched the waitress pour 2 shots on the ground before filling us up. Be careful if you get a different color plate than the entire restaurant. You'll be treated like garbage!

Yelp
We had a fun dinner here one night with some friends and enjoyed the dark mysterious atmosphere, the great food, and excellent service. Our server Raul was very helpful in ordering gluten-free options for me. We enjoyed the artful presentation of the cocktails and the tacos were fabulous. It's a pricey tourist area so just be prepared for American prices but definitely better service and great food.

Yelp
Wow!!! I'd never been to Tulum and the Strip makes your head Spin! It is filled with Extraordinary, Elegant, Fine Cuisine & Luxury shopping. This place was nothing short of that! And Festive to boot! The had a show with music handed us sparklers & people danced about and stop tables. The food was Great service for the price could've been better that's the ONLY reason for 4 stars; and quite frankly it was more like 4 1/2 stars. The best thing about this place was my Espresso Martini it was presently second to none & we have stayed at 5 stars hotels all over the world. Very very impressive!

Yelp
Go here if you want the Tulum party experience. The staff has some tracks and tricks to ensure they include every table in and there are groups celebrating bachelorettes and weddings so it gets really lit (especially with the lit fire sticks they pass). Again we were only here to try a dessert and the experience, so we got the chocolate sphere, which should come with a disclaimer that it serves 4-5 people. And it comes with a whole show, lights drama et al. Even their restrooms have a vibe with stone sinks and the works. They don't push tips.

Yelp
The vibe inside this restaurant is great, but the food was just okay. My friend ordered the fish tacos. These were some of the worst tacos I've tried - super dry and salty and the salsa lacked flavor. I had the salmon which was tasty, but nothing exceptional. I asked for the salmon cooked medium and it came out to the temperature I requested. I wish there was actually a little more salt on this dish. The burrata was good. The server was attentive and friendly! If you are dining in Tulum, most restaurants do not have windows to enclose the building. RoseNegra was the same, so it was fairly hot while we were eating. If I came back to Tulum, I wouldn't come back here.

Yelp
This place was really nice. I had concerns after reading a few reviews but it was kinda worth it time, ambiance & money wise. I brought my mom here for her birthday after many of suggestions and research I settled and decided this was the place to come. It didn't disappoint, but I expected much more for sure. It admittedly appears more festive online & as crazy as it sounds the bathroom was the most underwhelming part of this place. The decor and ambiance is beautiful and you feel/see it from the street & while walking in. The bathroom appeared unfinished, was full disconnected decor wise from the rest of the place & looked half constructed. They have American steakhouse prices food wise, but their drinks cost more than the drinks in the states so that's where they really make their money. The service was really good, but I recommend the servers/waiters stand further away from the tables where people are dinning & having private moments. There were at least 4 or more workers 5 feet away from the tables at all times and it cheapened the experience a bit. I couldn't scratch my nose without making eye contact with a server. The food was good & prepared well, but the portions are small and most entrees don't come with sides so those were separate. Overall we had a good time, but I can't help but feel there was somewhere better that would meet my expectations. There were three of us, we ordered entrees drinks, and a few sides but no appetizers. The bill was just under $600 separate from the amazing tip we gave. I don't mind spending money like this, but there wasn't much bang for your buck here. I had the Alaskan king crab and ordered cream of spinach as a side/extra charge. The crab was good but it was maybe 4 half crab legs (cut in half totaling 4 or 5 pieces total, so maybe 2 crab legs)...it was good but as an entree that's costs a little more than other things it wasn't filling or satisfying. The cream of spinach was sooo good I wish I'd gotten 2 of them and something else. The other two had the Hamburger and the Filet Mignon. The burger was great, but my friend had to send her steak back...They brought the steak back and it was still not medium rare, but bloody. We didn't send the steak back a second time and the manager came over...he agreed the steak wasn't made properly but we decided to keep it as is and make do. Overall good, but I do believe there was somewhere with better food/ambiance for the same price with a better experience.

Yelp
While I fully expected this place to be pricey and vibe focused, charging 400 pesos ($20) per water refill is absolutely atrocious without any heads up considering we didn't order or knowingly receive bottled water. The cocktails were weak and food ok (my fish of the day was well portioned but over cooked). Party vibes were good, and they did try to make each group feel celebrated, but the lack of transparency leading to a surprise bill was unsettling.

Yelp
Ambiance: super cute restaurant but we got sat by the dj booth in a corner. awkward location. But i loved that they give everyone a sparkler during dinner with people dancing. Loved it & it looked cool! Service: service was decent - wasn't super fast but we felt attended Food: The beef empanada was good! I also loved their spicy salsa that was given complimentary. I got fish tacos and it was also good! The fish itself needed a bit more seasoning. This place is on the pricey side. For 1 cocktail, bottled water, fish tacos, fries, and tip came out to $90. Im from Vegas and was shocked at how pricey it was.

Yelp
I wish I took pics of our food, but we dug right in. This was my second time in Tulum and second time at Rosa Negra so that says a lot that I came back to this restaurant after my first visit a few years ago. It's such a vibe. Starting at 8:30pm the night life kicks in and they have dancers every hour. A DJ is there and people are just enjoying themselves. You can get up and dance if you want and folk's definitely are dancing. The food is delicious and the drinks are too. It was a party of 6 people and our bill was around $200 so that's darn good if you ask me. But we didn't order alcoholic drinks so I know that played a part. They do charge you for each time they refill your glass of water and the bill can't be split. It has tgo on one card. I'm sure I'll visit Tulum again and when I do, I'll be back here again. Thanks for a great time!

Yelp
From making an appointment to quickly being seated, the host was great! The ambiance of the restaurant had fun vibes and everyone was dancing. There was performances almost every ten minutes so it felt like a fun club. The food itself was alright. Everything tasted salty and the drinks felt watered down. Either way, these things are to be known when traveling from California to tulum. So it wasn't big deal. I would order the octopus and mushroom risotto again. The menu can be located through a QR code and there's an English version as well. The servers were great in getting everybody in a good mood but mannn are they pushy on getting you to the order the most expensive items. You really need to stand your ground. I was with 11 other girls and when I told the server we aren't ordering drinks, he stopped talking to me and tired to persuade the other girls to order drinks. It was very uncomfortable that they would do that. Then when it came to tipping, they made it hard for you to leave without tipping the price they wanted. Once again; stand your ground.

Yelp
I had a fantastic time at this restaurant. One of the main reasons I selected it for our bachelorette party dinner is because I saw that they had great vegan options. I knew nothing else. We walked in and immediately we were hit in the face by the mood that is RosaNegra. There were sparklers at every table, pretty much every person. That lifted the spirits somewhat. We were seated literally spank in front of the stage. I could probably feel them breathe if I was paying attention. The bride was swept away by a random man who started dancing salsa with her. Did he work there? We will never know. The menu has a bunch of shit, but not nearly as much vegan stuff as I was expecting. Pretty minimal, actually. Or maybe it was just that it was all mushrooms? I don't recall but I couldn't, as a mushroom-disliker, partake. I ended up ordering the guac, humita empanada, and esquite tostadas. The rest of the table ordered a smorgasbord of other things including the mashed potatoes (delicious) and elote (delicious). For my drink, I ordered something with tequila or mezcal, perhaps the bacan and it arrived with a fucking SKULL in the glass. It was SO COOL. The other people who got a drink received these neon colored beverages that tasted amazing. This place has a lot of highs and lows, the highs would make a 5, the lows a 3 so that's why I have settled on a 4. Highs: -the food was FANTASTIC, the esquite tostadas where incredible. I was too full for the guac -the drinks, as above, were really unique and campy -the whole vibe is something else. I felt like I was dining in a night club. EDM music, tons of sparklers, it was a really crazy experience. Walking home from this restaurant made me realize that many restaurants on that street are like this Lows: -I never received the empanada but was charged for it -the waiter was inappropriate. He literally yelled at the person who was paying for not giving enough of a tip. She tipped him! But he wasn't satisfied with the amount and literally asked her, and expected an answer, for a higher tip. It was really awkward and uncomfortable I did read online (after coming home thank god) that someone witnessed a shooting outside rosa negra. Not at all rosa negra's fault whatsoever but more a testament to the fact that Tulum seems like it is much more dangerous than is widely known and if you are planning a trip, maybe you should reconsider. If you are already here, well, this is certainly an option for dinner!

Yelp
Alfonso is the man. Took care of a party of 20, I can't even coordinate ordering food for three people, I can't imagine being in his position. Ambience is lively. Vibe is immaculate. Good food with entertainment. If you have a large group and want to experience something different and special come through.
google avatar

Ashley G.

Yelp
This is a high energy environmemt! Food is delicious, definitely shareable plates Gives a nightclub feel, with loud music and dancing but you can still enjoy your meal. Although we had a phenomenal experience, they gave out way too many of those sparkles to hold, at times it was bothersome. And I didn't like how there were folks asking us if we wanted drugs in the bathroom hallway.
google avatar

Adrianna H.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing experience for my best friends bachelorette in Tulum! Such a great vibe inside with lots of sparklers and music. The food totally exceeded my expectations, it was delicious and everyone's favorite meal of the weekend. The service was great after buying a few bottles of tequila they served up shots and margaritas for our group of 18 all night long. If you are in Tulum you need to go!
google avatar

Robyn M.

Yelp
Vibes are UNMATCHED for dinner. We came here because we were looking for a place that had red snapper, they unfortunately did not have it on the menu but we decided to stay. Rosa Negra is a PARTY. They had a DJ, dancers and the waitstaff had performances. It was pretty dope! Drinks were delicious - Obsessed was a great presentation and a delicious vacation drink (we ordered it the entire weekend). Food was amazing. The absolutely BEST guacamole I've ever had in my life. The fire fish (I don't remember what it's called) but they cook it at the table - AMAZING. Disclaimer, it is an "open air" type restaurant so take proper bug repellant. Those mosquitos came to party too LOL Food, service, ambiance, vibes - EXCELLENT.

Karla C.

Yelp
Really horrendous experience. Asked for two glasses of wine that were listed on the MENU under "by the glass" and they insisted we buy the bottle. Really quite shady and despicable to be honest. Even the management would not rectify the situation. Disgusting behavior and customer service.
google avatar

Natalie G.

Yelp
Food is amazing here and you can tell the dishes are well thought out. The vibe is party / Miami vibes with great cuisine. Do not go here if you want to have a conversation because you won't be able to hear the person next to you with how loud the music is. It is great if you want to eat good and listen to good music. Almost like eating inside a club. I will say the service is VERY fast, almost too fast. Within 5 minutes of sitting down we had bread and chips with different salsas. We ordered our food and within 5 minutes we got all the appetizers (we were a party of 4) and they took the bread and chips since there was not enough space on the table. Before we finished our appetizers and could savor the dish, we got brought out more and they kept taking the plates and moving fast. They purposely do this to get tables out fast. We learned this from a local chef. We ordered, ate, and left all within one hour. It was very fast which is great but we didn't have a moment to enjoy the food since we felt rushed out.
google avatar

Queta S.

Yelp
I ordered the risotto with fillet. Honestly, so good. I do not regret my food choice. In terms of the ambiance it started to get good at around 9-10 pm. They did this really cool thing where they turned off the lights and handed out sprinkles so we were lighting the place. The service staff was very attentive.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is such a vibe! I was hesitant to visit since it's so popular with tourists, but it's popular for a reason. Great food, EXCELLENT service, and fantastic entertainment. Do yourself a favor and keep RosaNegra on the must visit list while you're in Tulum!
google avatar

Nikita B.

Yelp
What an experience! This place was so fun to dine at and delicious!! We were a group of ten and were able to share off each other. We got the bone marrow which is one of the best I've ever had, steak, risotto, empanadas, ceviche and more! The sparklers and the fire dance really made it an experience! Highly reccomend.

Yelp
Let me just preface by stating this is the first 1 star review I've ever given. Besides the beach views and some decent food presentation, this place has nothing going for it. If the ingredients are supposed to be of high quality, we must have missed it. We came at our reservation time and were the only ones in the outdoor seating by the beach (we had an oddly leaning in table that made us feel like our food and drinks were going to slide off the table into our laps) and instead of sitting us at one of the many empty tables they put us at a bench with a coffee table. The service from hostesses and servers were lacking in friendliness and attentiveness. We waited ages for our food to come, and when it did, the steak tasted of a poor cut and was not cooked as requested. The sushi was mediocre at best; I've had better sushi at HEB in Texas. The cocktail was the most enjoyable item, but there was not much competition. We didn't bother ordering dessert after wasting our money on our entrees. I do not recommend setting food in this overpriced, pretentious location.
google avatar

Magda K.

Yelp
Good food - great vibe - just some of the employees kept on asking everyone if they want to buy drugs as we were going to the bathroom.- the experience would have been perfect if it wasn't for that
google avatar

Babie A.

Yelp
Food was very subpar. The best thing we had out of everything was the Hamachi & Risotto. Everything was overpriced or what is it, dishes range from $30-$116. Service was okay, our server was nice. However, I told I absolutely did not like the ESQUITE TOSTADAS because it lacked flavor & the tostadas were very stale. He let me know that he will not be able to take it off the bill. It didn't bother me very much since it was the cheapest thing on the menu. Ambience is where it's at. I will give credit where credit is due and the vibes were vibing. I would recommend if you want to have a good time, smoke hookah, enjoy the live music, and have drinks. If that's the case I recommend going around 9:00pm or later.
google avatar

Natalie T.

Yelp
Wow. The food here was soooo good. I was worried it was going to be overpriced and just not worth it but it was worth every penny. We had the burratta appetizer, the ribeye steak, and the risotto de Camarones and all three dishes were excellent. The best dish was the risotto though. It had the biggest shrimp I've ever seen in my entire life. They tasted like lobster. Only complaint would be that it's super loud at the restaurant - it definately caters to the people who just want to party but the food made up for it. We still had a great time and enjoyed the food. We would definately recommend it to our friends our age but probably not older people lol we would definately come back!
google avatar

Leslie T.

Yelp
Still a vibe second time around. The ambiance hasn't changed, great live DJ, entertainment from the servers, and the food is pricey but definitely worth it. Come in a large group because it's definitely for the vibes.
google avatar

Klaudia P.

Yelp
Beware of this establishment!!! Cartel shook us down in the bathrooms and took our money when we refused to buy drugs from them. Circled our table to harass us after we told the restaurant and everyone there turned a blind eye. The waiters/management said there was nothing they could do and were clearly in on it. They also refused to take any of the food we were too upset to eat off the bill. Absolutely crazy and extremely terrifying experience.
google avatar

Victoria S.

Yelp
Would I come here again? Absolutely not. The food is mediocre at best, the service is not good, and it is terribly over priced. The ambiance is really the only thing saving this review. I came here as part of my bachelorette with a group of ladies who don't mind paying a good amount of money for good food. But here -- definitely not worth it. I got the filet risotto and it was bland at best. My friend for the rack of lamb...and once again, mediocre. Two of my friends ordered asparagus and the waiter only brought out one. When we asked him why he only brought out one and an ETA on the second, he said because he said "you all could share that one". First, if we order two orders then just bring us the two orders. Second, don't make that decision for us without even communicating that's what you're doing. Service was really the downfall. First, our waiter was not great. When ordering I asked the waiter about the potato soufflé because I wanted to know what it was made with. He said it had nuts and when I asked him if he knew what kind of nuts were in it, he told me to Google it. That's very concerning especially for people with allergies to nuts. Needless to say I got a different meal and yet...he still brought out the potato soufflé.

Yelp
ORDERED - "Japanese Wagyu" - Spicy Octopus - Short Rib Pot - Ora King Salmon - Ceviche Sampler - Giant Churro - Smoky Moon - Margarita Ahumada - Moët Nectar Imperial STAFF We had great service - they do hospitality really really well here. Didn't get the bottle of champagne we wanted, but the sommelier came out and recommended something similar and we quite enjoyed it. With the bottle came out the "party starters" with sparklers for everyone and they pretty much hype the table up. SEATING & AMBIANCE There's SO many tables which are usually all booked out. Would recommend making reservations ahead of time. This is NOT somewhere to come for an intimate dinner. It's more like a club/lounge. PARKING No parking which is the case for many restaurants along this strip. Recommended to take a taxi to/from here. FOOD/DRINK We really enjoyed the WAGYU PICANA, SHORT RIB POT & CEVICHE SAMPLER the most. I would skip on the Ora King Salmon as the portion size was small and the salmon itself was slightly overcooked. If you don't mind ground bits in your drinks, the SMOKY MOON was really tasty and sweet (ground up bits were goji berries). Finish off with the GIANT CHURRO for dessert -- this is to be shared because its huge!

Yelp
Es un restaurante que tienes que visitar aunque sea una vez, el ambiente y servicio del lugar es excelente si deseas una experiencia al estilo Tulum. La comida es ok para los precios que manejan.

Yelp
4 stars for what could be the most highly rated resto for food AND entertainment on the beach strip! Reservations highly recommended as it is virtually impossible to walk in. Known for a party spot ( party on your seat, LOL there is no dance floor), DJed music and hourly sparklers set the vibe. Dancing on your chair is encouraged and each bottle order is celebrated with an entourage of dancers. Foodwise, it is pretty good. Our drinks - mango margaritas and passionfruit mojitos were great! We had the chocolate ice cream ball dessert that arrived with flair and would recommend it because of that. We had the Peruvian ceviche which was ourstanding, the tacos, empanadas, and the churros. Ambience is high class and loud, fun and pretty much a beachy Vegas club. There will be the person by the restrooms asking discreetly for any interest in cocaine so just be prepared to say no thanks. I've found this to be the norm in every place we've been to in Tulum which can be unnerving if you are not warned. Diplo was the DJ the night before, and we were at the Hookah spot across from Rosa Negra that night-- it was epic.

Yelp
You probably saw this restaurant on instagram before yelp! Don't worry I did too LOL. We made a reservation for 10pm and arrived at 10:03 but it took until 10:41 to actually sit at a a table (if that tells you anything) as a group of 2. We were off to the side of the main action where it looks like the reserve the tables for the large and fun big groups! The sparklers and everything were a lot of fun. The food was actually really good!! Highly recommend the sea bass made table side it's stunningly delicious!! They were out of quite a few things like the lobster tacos we were looking forward too. They also include tip which is strange for a small party like ours. Overall, it was fun but I wouldn't go back unless it was a large group activity or a bachelorette party!

Yelp
Heard so much about this restaurant, but the main highlight is the sparklers they bring out to the table. Other than that the food is overpriced & mediocre. There are other newer restaurants now in Tulum with a more fun vibe, but I suppose this restaurant is a classic that everyone must visit if they go to Tulum.

Yelp
Probably the most lively, fun night dining experience in Tulum! The live DJ music is a great set, the servers go above and beyond to make sure you are enjoying yourself and the food is above average. Highly recommend if you want a nightlife, restaurant experience while visiting Tulum.

Yelp
Went on Valentine's Day and it was a live show, drinks and lots of food, be aware, it's pricey but worth it!

Yelp
Party ambiance ! Great for a large group celebrating an occasion. The service is on point. The food was UNMATCHED! My lambchops were soooo well cooked and the garnishes tasted amazing as well. I love the sauce !!! The mashed potatoes are to die for. Very smooth texture for both mashed potatoes AND sweet potatoes.

Yelp
My biggest issue with this place is their music is bumpin but then its a sit-down dining place? Like why is there no dance floor... I would want to dance but there is literally no room because the tables take up every inch of space. They want you to dance but you can only dance on the tables and that's where are food and drinks are so no.. It's very pricey as well. The drinks are around $20 each. Can't give them too hard of a time about that though because everything in this zone is very expensive. At least they look nice and taste good though. From what we had the food is good. The best part to me is the decor, music selection, and that you can order any cocktail on the menu virgin. I've never seen that before at a restaurant. To me it's a tourist trap that just seems like a fun time on Instagram but it actually a bad idea. I would not go back.

Yelp
4 Stars because there wasn't a show or not any excitement for my husbands 50th birthday. Although they gave him a piece of chocolate cake with a sparkler that fizzled out before we could even take one picture. It was nothing like the Tik Tok reviews I've seen. The food and drinks were delicious nevertheless.

Yelp
RosaNegra is truly an experience!! This place is so fun and lively. The food is very mid and overpriced to me but you will have an amazing time if you're not an introvert. It's very loud and festive. They bring around sparklers to everyone to sing and dance throughout the night. The DJ plays all types of music and it was so fun seeing all the ladies from various birthday and Bachelorette parties dancing on the tables. I would definitely come here again for drinks and a good time, but I'd eat somewhere else before I came.

Yelp
We sat near the bar. Not sure if there is a show, but there was a lot of energy and sparklers handed out throughout the restaurant often to hype the crowd up. The staff also encourages you to get up and stand on your chairs and dance. Cute energy! For food we had old fashions(great and strong), strawberry margarita (this is mixed with raspberry, so be sure if you have an allergy to ask for straight strawberry--I had to point this out to our waitress), hamburger (rated top 3 of all time), grilled artichoke(these were not flavorful and tough to chew), corn(the pairing sauces are a good compliment), and the short rib pot( the pairing sauce was good with this as well).

Yelp
WARNING be sure to keep track of your bill since the girl serving me charged double the price, she quickly flashed a light at the total then turned it off so I could not see the itemized bill. We had 2 plates of food, 4 drinks and a desert and they floated $9000mx $550usd just beware I thought since this was a nice restaurant it would cut through that scam trash but it is clearly not beneath them. Keep your menu to review each item these people are very dirty.

Yelp
If you're ever in Tulum, RosaNegra is a must go. The atmosphere of this restaurant is super vibrant - there's great, danceable music blasting and sparklers going off every minute. They also have a wide variety of drinks which are super yummy - I got the smoky moon and it was so good. The food was also really good and came out quickly. My group ordered a couple of appetizers and then we got our own mains. I ordered the seared tuna and it was so so good. It wasn't your traditional pepper coated tuna but instead slices of seared tuna sitting on a bed of sauce which was a little sweet but so so good. Unfortunately I ended up yakking it out after drinking too much but I definitely recommend this dish. Also, shots are unfortunately $23 USD which is a bit of a punishment but they are also massive. The servers were fantastic - we asked for so many sparklers and extras and they were super quick and understanding and were hyping us up as we were dancing on the chairs. Overall, had a blast!

Yelp
We heard lots of great recommendations from friends who went to RosaNegra. We were excited to see what it really was about, we were not disappointed. It was a fun dinning experience and was happy to see how the staff included every guest to participate in the lighting show. It was fun. Just wished there was a dance floor or something for they were playing great music! We were during low season we were able to get seated right away. I did call ahead for RSVP. Just know to call ahead if you're planning to dine here. The food was delicious and the drinks out of this world! Highly recommend. Like everything in Tulum, this is $$$ place. Fun part is they also sell hookah!

Yelp
Food always great! But there kind of hypocrite as they treat Mexican horrible because they choose to believe locals won't tip enough went in and asked for a table forgot to make a reservation and they asked where we were visiting from and told them we were from GDL and they still sat me down on the Japanese side of the menu (seperate restaurant) then we started speaking English and their whole attitude changed when I told them find me a better table because I was gonna buy a bottle. Mind you they were being kind of rude not to mention it wasn't even a busy time . None the less the ambiance is cool or whatever if you like to party.

Yelp
Such a cute spot with great service and ambiance. Franco was our waiter and he was so awesome with attention and recommendations. He had such good energy. Mario and Ardemio were also so kind, attentive and polite. We will absolutely be back! They also surprised me for my bday with a lovely dessert and sparkler. The sparkler show is also really fun where they give everyone a sparkler. :) If you're looking for a fun spot, with good food this is it. The area is also nice to walk around after to let the fun continue.

Yelp
INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE! We even went back two nights in a row. After going to several other restaurants in Tulum, Rosa Negra was by far THE BEST. Every single element was perfect - the food, service, music, ambiance, people, cocktails...literally everything. Thank you Rosa Negra, you will forever have a special place in my heart!!!
