Rose is a nice Italian restaurant in the heart of North Beach. Only a block away from Washington Square on Columbus, they location is great. The interior is spacious and well decorated and there are a number of tables on the sidewalk outside. The food was well prepared and most of the pasta is made in-house which I liked a lot. I had the nudi pasta with braised chicken which was good. Nice wine list as well and full bar. Overall a bit pricey but good food and a nice ambiance made it a enjoyable experience.

The place was packed out but we were seated within five minutes. It held a romantic casual vibe, with one section for bar seating to watch sports on TV with a more secluded romantic section in the back. Staff were FANTASTIC!! On V-day, it's the worst to be a server with the extra service and demands, but our guy took care of us to the max. They checked in consistently to see how the food was, knew the menu and wine list, and guided us along when we were forgetting to eat our food (we still had courses to go!).

Went here for Mother's Day and another time for a business meeting. The food is so good - and just the same if you end up taking a box home. The servers are very nice and knowledgable about the meals/wine and more. I parked my bike outside and they offered to check on it to make sure it was fine. Recommend this place for any occasion- but make a reservation to ensure you have a table.

The kitchen has a little bit of room for improvement on the execution of some of their dishes, but I still give them five stars, it's that good, and with reasonable prices. Their squid and octopus appetizers are wonderful, very fresh and well prepared. Good pizzas, and some harder to find things like walnut cream pasta.

One of my favorite Italian restaurants in SF. The menu is constantly changing and the chefs use seasonal ingredients. The pasta is always cooked perfectly. The service is exceptional, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. If it is a beautiful day be sure to sit outside and enjoy the people watching.

The food here is very barely two star, but they are very friendly and the music and dining room are very pleasant, so I'm giving a full two star for that. I suppose if I had this meal in some remote location, my expectations would be lower, but in North Beach, in SF, an Italian restaurant should serve wonderful food. My artichoke app was cold hearts straight from a jar and my pasta dish was served with watery sauce and cubes of pork fat. No flavor. Cocktails were good. Seafood stew was also served in a mostly flavor free broth.

I came here to have a glass of wine and some appetizers. The food was delicious, especially when paired with the rose wine I ordered. The service was friendly and the restaurant is conveniently located near many other shops and restaurants. I will definitely be returning to try their dinner menu.

The customer service we received from the waiter was really unpleasant. He didn't bothered bringing the bread and our drinks until 30 minutes later. Our entrees were served cold. Also someone bumped my head twice while they were serving others. The waiter completely ignored the situation and walked away. I would strongly "NOT" recommend anyone to this crappy restaurant to others!!!
