Hip, tropical-leaning locale with a bar program highlighting tiki-inspired drinks & small plates
"On December 4, the owners of pop-up hub Rose Temple Bar posted on Instagram that they had decided to sell in February to their friends, who will be renaming it Wash Bar. “When you hear about bars, closing, you always think of a relationship that was broken or something that failed,” owners Ben Smith and Austin Polley wrote. “But we’re really fortunate that we’ve had so much community support and that we got to help our friends live out their dream.” The pair still owns Donna’s, which opened earlier this year." - Meg van Huygen
"Ms. Helen's Soul Bistro will be doing pop-ups soon, including at Rose Temple Bar on March 27 from 6 to 9 p.m." - Naomi Tomky
"This great new bar on Capitol Hill that we usually love for glittered Jell-O shots released a three-month-aged eggnog spiked with whiskey, rum, fernet, and cognac. It costs $20 for a liter, and you can stop by during their to-go pop-up on Friday, December 11th to grab yours." - Aimee Rizzo
"Rose Temple is one of those fun hangout spots that has a drink for everyone. There’s a guava-strawberry vodka shooter involving edible glitter and a gummy shark, trash can cocktails, alcoholic slushies, and, of course, cans of Rainier. What makes this place feel even more fun is the jungle-meets-Clue-mansion decor—only instead of figuring out “whodunit” in the study with the candlestick, you’re sitting around downing daiquiri shots. Pile your friends in a booth among the bookcases and chandeliers, and order some cheesy waffle fries or pastrami-spiced fried brussels sprouts with your drinks." - Aimee Rizzo
