Best Places to Drink Tea in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"In John’s Creek, none can compare to Rose Valley Sweets’ Persian tea. Open daily, the shop offers a la carte treats and tea, and you can also enjoy high tea. Try the zabon, a Persian puff pastry with a variety of toppings, as well as the rose baklava. A selection of savory bistro pastries, such as tomato olive and feta spinach, balances the sweets well, too. Book a Persian high tea to experience a good array of light bites, and consider adding a saffron rock candy to stir into your tea." - Eater Staff

We recently had my best friend’s private engagement dinner at Rose Valley Sweets, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about the experience. From the moment we walked in, the space felt so warm, cozy, and thoughtfully set up—it was the perfect intimate venue for such a special night. The decor, lighting, and overall vibe were just beautiful, making everything feel so personal and memorable. What made the night even better were Dylan and Derrick. These two were incredible from start to finish. They were beyond accommodating, constantly checking in to make sure everything was going smoothly. They helped with setup, checked on guests, brought out anything we needed without us even asking, and did it all with the kindest smiles. You could genuinely feel how much they cared, not just about doing their job—but about making the evening as perfect as possible for everyone. They were truly the highlight of the night (besides the couple, of course!). Super professional, so respectful, and just naturally sweet and friendly. Dylan and Derrick really added to the magic of the evening, and I’m so grateful we had them there. If you’re looking for a charming venue with outstanding service and a genuinely caring team, Rose Valley Sweets is it. We’ll definitely be back—this place is a hidden gem and the people make it even better.

The decor feels like a Fairytale! Definitely Instagram worthy. So many delicious pastries to choose from in such a unique setting. We couldn’t choose just one thing so we had a bit of everything: pistachio cake, Persian love cake, Dubai chocolate cheesecake, pistachio filled croissant and not to be missed: the Dubai chocolate cup! We loved them all!! The drinks are delicious too. We The owner/baker is such a wonderful person who made sure we were content with everything. Absolutely worth the drive up from Atlanta!

This was my first time with my mom, and it instantly brought out my inner child! From the golden tea cups to the beautifully designed interior, you can tell everything was designed with intention. The service was amazing and our server took the time to walk us through each item on the tray, all of which are made in-house! The portion sizes were perfect and you get a variety of sweet and savory items. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner of the bakery, and she was incredibly nice and welcoming! Highly, highly recommend this place, and I’ll definitely be back!

A fun find in Johns Creek. Great atmosphere with a nice selection of sandwiches and pastries. Prices are 😮 a bit high but all is made fresh with quality ingredients. Staff is friendly, wouldn’t say welcoming but friendly. Will come back as it will make for a fun lunch date.

**A Hidden Gem for Pastry Lovers!** I recently visited **Rose Sweet Valley**, and it was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, the aroma of freshly baked pastries filled the air, making it impossible not to indulge. The display was filled with beautifully crafted treats, each looking more tempting than the next. I tried its Rose Baklowa, and it was simply divine—flaky, buttery, and perfectly balanced in flavor. Their desserts are not just visually stunning but also made with high-quality ingredients that you can taste in every bite. The cozy ambiance makes it a perfect spot to relax with a cup of coffee and a sweet treat. The ambiance and overall vibe of this cafe is absolutely blissful. Their hi-tea ☕️🫖 was an amazing experience especially the pistachio latte was a bliss. They serve a collection of absolutely amazing treats like baklava, parties and cakes which are not overpowering sweet but have just the perfect touch of sweetness 🥰👌🏻 also they have absolutely pretty ToGo boxes! The only thing that was overcooked was their falafels…

Yelp
The desserts were delicious but not really my vibe as a sit down restaurant--especially on Mother's Day. The service was not the best, but I can't judge them so much on that. The place was packed. If I would change anything it would be the thing that bothered me the most--the techno music playing while an animal planet kangaroo show was on. I also had a ridiculously wobbly table. And my reserved Mom afternoon tea for one display, looked sad compared to larger displays. And then when I asked for the check I had to get up and go to the register and wait in line to pay. Overall the only thing that would make me come back is for a cake or sweets for a birthday. I haven't tried my $18 per slice cake but if it's anything like the Persian cream puffs, it will be worth it! I have nothing but good things to say about that, but definitely will not be going back for wait service. Edit: I would like to add that I had THE BEST chocolate I've ever had in my life here and I've been thinking about it everyday to the point that I'm going back over and over just for that! It came in an after treat box when I checked out and it made me change the stars from 3 to 4 it was THAT good!

Yelp
Today I did tea with my friends and it was amazing! About $50 total per person and you need to call to make a reservation. The store was incredibly cute and has a plethora of other desserts and goodies. The tea itself was incredible! A nice rose hinted tea and served in the cutest Turkish tea set. The food is all Persian or Persian influenced and was delicious. If you're in Johns Creek and want to do a tea experience I highly suggest! I saw a Dubai chocolate cheesecake that I was eyeing for next time!

Yelp
A wonderful place to stop by after dinner to indulge your sweet tooth. They have an array of Persian sweets. Rose Baklava, artisanal chocolates, pastries, cakes, Turkish delight and flavors of rose, pistachio and saffron almond icecream. We can pair it with Persian tea or fizzy water. We ordered icecream and had a couple of bites. Left us craving for something spicy Thai food, after.

Yelp
We went to Rose Valley Sweets for a friends birthday. The decor is cute, with faux flowers hanging from the ceiling and there is a pastry case with well-decorated cakes. I tried the rose tea, a pistachio affogato, the avocado croissant (without the avocado, trying to do less carbs) and my friend got the spinach feta omelette. Some other people at our table got the high tea. I did find it pricey for the quality and taste, but everything was beautifully displayed, as you can see from the photos. The spinach feta omelette had way more spinach than eggs, which was surprising to some of us, but if you love spinach you should enjoy this dish. The avocado croissant was fine. My friend got one with the croissant, and she said it was also fine. The ordering procedure was a bit frustrating for us all. They have QR codes to scan and then you order and pay at the table online and they bring it out. They don't come take your order like at traditional restaurants. So it ended up being a bit confusing and a couple dishes got missed, but we eventually did get it all sorted out. Overall, it was an okay experience, but probably not someplace I'd go again. We still had a nice time celebrating our friend. I know that some people love this place. It isn't for everyone and that's ok! :)

Yelp
Went for a quick coffee today. Beautifully decorated space with ample parking in the shopping strip. Service was amazing, I ordered a pistachio latte - it was not on the menu but they made it for me. We also had an espresso. Both were freshly made and delish. My latte was a bit too sweet but the good and white China cups were so beautiful! Baked goods looked to be a bit on the pricey side with croissants for 7+ and cake slices up to 12 dollars. The place was busy with lots of customers ordering pots of teas and treats!!

Yelp
Georgia's Prettiest Persian Brunch Spot in Johns Creek *Free Parking *Beautiful and delicious Persian Tea for best girly brunch experience, Persian high tea is also available upon 1 week in advance request. *The New Savory Brunch includes: Spinach feta omelette, Persian omelette, Avocado egg croissant, halal sandwich, Fresh Nappeloni, and Persian mashed potatoes. Everything was freshly made and natural ingredients. I enjoyed all the dishes, my personal favorite is the mashed potatoes, Persian omelet, avocado croissant and the fresh nappeloni. I would ordered these dishes again. *must try the nappeloni Persian dessert, it was light but crispy not too sweet and feel like butter in your mouth. *Support your local business. Erica, the owner is so sweet and very welcome. Love her passion and visualization for this beautiful bakery. Rose Valley Sweets presents a delightful selection of handcrafted Persian treats, crafted with the finest ingredients. From rich cakes and pastries to exquisite sweets, specialty drinks, and coffee, each creation is a masterpiece of flavor and artistry. Rose Valley Sweets also offers a variety of halal dish, ensuring everyone can enjoy their delightful treats and meals with confidence.

Yelp
Rose Valley Sweets is soooo beautiful!! Everything from the inside to the desserts they serve remind me of a Persian palace. My friend and I stopped by here before lunch and got some tea and cake. The man helping us darkened the tea for us , so that was nice! And the cake was flufffy and delicious. Definitely on the pricier side for what you are getting, but worth it if you want to go somewhere for aesthetics.

Yelp
Recently came across this new Persian sweets spot in John's Creek and knew I had to try. Located in a shopping plaza with ample parking, it was pretty easy to find. Once inside, you're met with some friendly faces. Such a cute, intimate spot. My girlfriends and I enjoyed our high tea! There were 4 of us and we were provided with 2 towers of goodies. With a nice combination of savory bites and sweet treats, it paired perfectly with the Persian rose tea. My only suggestion is to call and reserve for high tea ahead of time to ensure a spot. They do request to have the reservation in 1 week ahead of time, but I'm sure if they can accommodate, they will. Overall, I loved my experience! It was a nice twist to an English high tea. For the price point ($35), I feel like it was more than reasonably priced. Will definitely be returning and bringing other girlfriends in the future! IG: @eat.drink.repeat.atl

Yelp
I saw this place on Instagram and learned about their afternoon tea. The place is even more gorgeous in person with all the floral decorations and the pretty furniture. The sweet smell of pastry greets you soon as you walk in and everything is very decadent. I was overwhelmed with all the pastries in the store. I loved the zabon. It is light, crunchy and sweet. I can eat so many of this. The rose tea is very fragrant and I love the saffron rock candy that comes in the beautiful gold cup. Erica, the store owner, was so nice and attentive. I can't wait to come back to try their other items. They also have custom cakes- you just need to place the order 2 days ahead of time.

Yelp
Such a cute little bakery off Medlock Bridge in Johns Creek! They offer delicacy Persian desserts with a beautiful presentation. I had the pistachio cake slice, which was beautifully decorated and tasty. The cake slices go for about $12 a slice and are not overly sweet. The cakes do not have a lot of sugar, butter and cream--making them very light and fluffy if you're in the mood for that. Service was excellent.

Yelp
An absolute must visit if you are in the area! My friends and I decided to come here for a quick hangout and try some of their pastries and rose tea. We ordered at the counter which has two lines (one at the tablet and the other at the cash register) and then sat down. We got a pot of tea, Dubai chocolate, feta and cheese pastry, the chocolate cake. My friend who's vegan got a vegan chocolate croissant. It's nice they had a few vegan pastries and sweets to accommodate people's dietary restrictions. Our order did take some time to come out but that's expected since it was so busy. Luckily we were able to find a table and then found out that you can actually order at the table! Everything was impeccable and I loved the sugar saffron candy that came with the tea to stir in. The tea was super fragrant and had hints of rose. I also loved the aesthetics of the tea pots and cups. The Dubai chocolate was also pretty good, and I enjoyed the feta and cheese pastry. The cake was also delicious and quite not as rich as other cakes are which I appreciated. Before leaving I picked up some baklava to take home and it was quite heavenly. While it was pricy, it was probably one of the best baklava I have ever had! Overall, a really nice place to visit and they do have high tea as well.

Yelp
Loved this place and will be back to try the high tea! Went with a friend and we just got a pot of tea and a bunch of desserts to split and try and everything was DELICIOUS, all of the desserts were fresh and had the perfect amount of sweetness. They were light and not too sweet not heavy desserts. the woman who took our order and prepared everything was so kind and patient with us trying to decide our order. She said she wasnt busy so she even assembled everything to be all fancy on one of those cute trays as if we were doing high tea. The decor was so cute and aesthetic. 10/10 would recommend

Yelp
Delicious tea and a great value for price! The staff is super friendly and helpful, and their rose tea was delicious! A great chance to try traditional Persian food in a fabulously cute environment. Would definitely return!

Yelp
I made a reservation for high tea for my moms birthday. It was just three of us, myself, my sibling, and mom. They were gracious in rescheduling due to the recent snowstorm. While the high tea menu items were tasty and the inside is very cute, the total bill including taxes and tip was $100+ for three ppl. I feel that is too much for a meal that is not even hot. It's not like going to a dinner or restaurant. I did enjoy it, and will visit again, but next time will order items off their menu. Service was good but they were bust on a Saturday so try to go on workdays. Ambiance is very pretty. Owner is very kind. The sandwich was good and I liked the Persian potato salad too. The spring rolls were fresh and hot. My mom loved the teas and pistachio frappe. Sweets were too sugary, but otherwise really good. Will definitely return

Yelp
This place was beautiful and so serine. The food and tea was lovely as well!! I highly recommend it. It would be so fun for a mother daughter date too!!

Yelp
The service is so nice. It's a mixture of self serve and counter service -- with a kiosk for ordering. The ladies who work there are so nice and thorough with explaining everything. The lighting is beautiful and the decor is as well, roses hanging all over. It would be a great place for a bridal shower or baby shower. The food was delicious too, not too sweet. I would love to have more of their cakes! They're light and fluffy with a creamy dreamy frosting. I did get a few macarons to go as well.

Elan C.

Yelp
If you want high-quality delectable sweets, this is THE place to go! The rose tea is amazing (especially stirred with a sugar-saffron stick). The Persian Macarons were delicious. When I tell you I was in for a sweet surprise?! Not only the sweets were terrific, but the atmosphere, service, and vibe were too! 10/10: I HIGHLY recommend coming here and with a group of friends to further enjoy the experience as well.

Yelp
This place was gorgeous. I loved the service. Food was great. Plenty of options to choose from if you want to bring something home.

Yelp
Lovely atmosphere and bite-sized pastries. I experienced the perfect Persian Afternoon Tea Time with soft, ambient background music, sitting and sipping on the velvet lounge chair. Their rose tea is phenomenal; definitely try that and their pistachio baklava. My photos don't do it justice. I'll certainly be back for a high tea event with the girlies.

Yelp
Baklava Wow!! It is are so delicious love it! Macaroon is wonderful with lovely cream and soft cookie Lovely tea room - stay all day

Yelp
A nearby Persian cafe that opened near me that was introduced to me by one of the Yelp Elite events! I had to go back and try their rose tea and everything while dining in. I love the saffron sugar they give with the large pot of rose tea; it really adds a distinctive sweetness to the drink. I also got creampuffs to share with a friend. The staff here are always super friendly and are happy to answer any questions and check in on you if you want a refill on the tea.
google avatar

Mahsa N.

Yelp
The prices are way too high for the quality and portion, we got 2 tea pot, it didn't even taste like black tea, do not recommend
google avatar

Yelp
This place just popped up on my Yelp feed as a place to try so my wife and I gave it a shot and we're glad we did!! We had the omelet, Dubai chocolate cheesecake, pistachio latte, avocado croissant and took some Dubai chocolate home with us. Everything was wonderful and we can't wait to come back to sample other things on the menu!
google avatar

NaTasha L.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful inside and everything was delicious! Stopped here on a whim for my daughters birthday treat and we were not disappointed. I can't wait to come back and do their entire tea service.
google avatar

Kristin X.

Yelp
This is the best high tea menu I've tried yet! And it's so affordable compare to other high tea places with generic tea menus. I made a reservation for a girl's night and we had so much fun. Our table was beautifully set up upon arrival and the presentation of the food as they came was so pretty too. We ate everything. The menu was so good from their sandwiches, to their potato salad, to their Persian desserts, and the tea was delicious along with the their pistachio frappe. I definitely recommend to try their high tea experience! But you can also walk in and just have their desserts and tea without a reservation.
google avatar

Asi S.

Yelp
Decor is 10/10. Had been seeing this place mentioned on IG. Since I don't live close by and we are in the area stopped in. They had a little tea birthday party going on in the back really cute. Food looked amazing. They do have a few vegan options. I got the chia croissant, and a latte with alternative milk. It was okay nothing spectacular. The croissant was a little dry, and no jam; or vegan butter to add to it. Items were definitely on the pricy side.

Yelp
I took my family to this place on a Monday afternoon. Once we stepped in, we were greeted with a delightful displays of cakes and pastries. They also have a yogurt bar that looks amazing. But we opted out in just getting a sample tray of 3 pastry. My wife and I enjoyed and both agreed that the Neppoli is the best! It's light and deliciously sooo good, especially with the Americano coffee. My son and daughter enjoyed the cream puff and they gave it a two thumbs up . The two ladies that are working there are great and very friendly. We will back for sure!!!

Yelp
Highly recommend! Beautiful space with wonderful service. The rose tea was excellent. We tried the baklava and an assortment of other sweets. All were delicious and of very high quality. There is a dog friendly patio in front of the space.

Mqnurse A.

Yelp
So I only had the pistachio baklava and the Dubai bar, the Dubai bar was disgusting. I've had many different ones and this was the most expensive and the worst one. Tasted weird I can't even explain it. The baklava was good but wasn't that crunchy which was also odd.

Natasha O.

Yelp
First of all, it is a super cute place. Very nice decor and we loved the tea sets that were served. Food was ok, spinach and feta omelet had 75% spinach with some feta and eggs, a bit different. We were seated at 11am, with zero instructions (our first time, didn't know that ordering was up front). At 11:30 we finally flagged someone to place an order for teas, breakfast items and desserts. At 11:45, food was brought out for 2 people, while others were still waiting on coffee/tea orders. We requested silverware and spoons&knives were provided (no forks), we had to ask for napkins and waters multiple times. My food didn't come out until 12:40, almost a full HOUR from the time the first person received their food. No one checked on us (except to deliver food) so we had to flag people for napkins and utensils. I guess you only get service if you ordered High tea, which we did not. Although we loved the tea, will not come back due to extremely poor service.

Lee W.

Yelp
What a delightful find! Beautiful and very gracious host. The rose person was outstanding. The baklava looks great though I haven't tried it. I love the Persian inspired aesthetic.
google avatar

Brian S.

Yelp
what a great dessert place my wife and I just found. best baklava we've had! my wife will be bringing her girlfriends here for get together tomorrow. we love the rose flower decorations and comfortable lighting. plenty of room to host an event. not that many good bakeries around this area where my wife can enjoy desserts cause of dairy allergy so very thankful the owner Erica has her chef to make us custom dishes and more options are being added to menu soon. thank you for the great experience and look forward to our next visit.

Virginia M.

Yelp
my girls ordered different desserts and each of us tasted what everyone ordered. it's basic and too expensive. so you get your dessert then go to a tablet to order your tea, it took us several minutes to find the item we pic from the bakery then it's time to choose a tea. while waiting for my tea i started eating my bland dessert , apparently the tea I ordered was to go per the ordering tablet. when my tea finally came , its in a teapot. For what I paid of $22 for a teapot of rose tea and small piece of bland dessert (it's dry), the experience is not worth it.

Yelp
Opened in early August 2024, Rose Valley Sweets introduces an exciting selection of Persian desserts, smoothies, juices, coffees, and teas, handcrafted from the finest ingredients. Several delicacies can only be found at Rose Valley Sweets and nowhere else in metro Atlanta. Inspired by the aesthetic tradition of Persian gardens, climbing roses cover the walls, warmly welcoming you to the elegant cafe. Bird of paradise, fiddle leaf fig, and roses abound in an enchanting garden where you can entertain friends and family. Enjoy freshly brewed Persian tea with baklava, pistachio cream croissant, coffee roulette, latifeh, noon khamei, zaban, and shirini napoleoni. Taste decadent new creations like the Dubai pistachio affogato or the Dubai chocolate, inspired by contemporary Middle Eastern sweets trending on Tik Tok. Order a beautiful custom cake or reserve a Persian high tea experience in advance for your next celebration. For food connoisseurs and Instagram worthy moments, it's worth the drive outside the perimeter... and I am one of those Atlantans who always try to stay inside the perimeter. Now I make an effort to stop by Rose Valley Sweets every time I am in Johns Creek. Wishing this exquisite new bakery great success!

Lora P.

Yelp
Walls of flowers greet you at the entrance. Beautiful Persian desserts and some savory items are on display for your selection. Tried the delicious pistachio baklava- not too sweet or syrupy with a hint of cardamom. (While beautifully packaged for takeout-wish packaging was recyclable).

Roro F.

Yelp
Pretty good variety of pistachio pastries and drinks! Service was great, and the ambience is beautiful

Nisah M.

Yelp
This is such a beautiful tucked away gem! The desserts here are amazing, they are authentic and delicious, nothing in the Atlanta or surrounding areas or come close in capturing these flavors. You can really smell and taste the delicate flavors of the rose water, it's not overpowering, just well balanced. The drinks are super as well. I've had the high tea and it was very much worth it! I love the ambiance in here as well, so much attention to detail to make it beautiful and cozy. I highly recommend trying anything that catches your eye- I haven't had anything here that didn't wow me.

Marlee A.

Yelp
The place itself is very cute and clean and a very nice and welcoming staff. On the other hand there wasn't much of a selection especially the drinks and was pretty expensive. I got a choclate croissant the size of my palm for about $7+ tax it was good but not worth the price. Probably won't be going again just for that reason.
