The 34 Best Coffee Shops For Getting Work Done In Los Angeles - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Blame it on those CalTech students cramming for their STEM final, but finding a coffee shop in Pasadena that has both ample seating and usable WiFi (not to mention great coffee) is surprisingly tricky. We usually make a beeline to Rosebud, a spacious coffee shop on Colorado Blvd. with lots of counter seats and tables where you can bust out the laptop. You’ll also be supporting a good cause—as part of its mission, the shop employs unhoused and at-risk youth transitioning out of the foster system." - brant cox, sylvio martins, cathy park

Google
I love this place, tried their Rosebud Chai which is their rendition of a dirty chai. It normally comes with a single shot of espresso, but I got a double. They have great parking, great service, just note there isn't wifi on weekends, and they have an amazing social impact mission that makes this place an ideal location to post up!

Google
A really wholesome safe feeling coffee shop that does incredible business. Great pastries and drinks. Great place to get some work done. I don’t love that they allow large pets inside that doesn’t feel safe and after 3 pm it turns into a bar which I’m not too fond of either. It has large skylights that make the light really pleasant to work in and it’s not too loud like a Starbucks

Google
Rosebud Coffee has a lot going for it. The decor is fantastic, with plenty of plants and cool merchandise. There are lots of tables to sit at, both inside and on the outside patio. A neat feature is the separate brewery inside, complete with an alcoholic bar. Plus, there's a huge parking lot behind the shop, which is super convenient. Most importantly, my latte with oat milk was delicious. However, there are a few things I disliked. Although they have WiFi, they turn it off on weekends to encourage conversation between guests. While I enjoyed my visit without my laptop, I would have liked the option to bring it on a weekend if I wanted to step out of the house. They also place little boards on specific tables indicating that they are laptop-free zones, which feels a bit intrusive. The staff at the counter was friendly and great, but the rest of the staff didn't seem to be taking their shifts seriously. You have to stand very close to the order area to hear your name called because most of the staff just call names casually, except for one gentleman who actually yelled out names. The rest were chatting amongst themselves, with nothing to do, which was a bit odd. I want to like this place and maybe it was just an off day. I'll try coming back on a weekday and hope to update my review with more stars because I'm new to the area and looking for a regular coffee spot.

Google
The Golden Latte was to die for and the strawberry desert cake thing my son got was tip tier as-well. I love local coffee shops and this one doubles as a brewery after the coffee shop closes. I also love that they hire and train the youth for jobs. Just a real stand up place that hits all marks. Whenever I come to town to see the dodgers play I will drink coffee here and nowhere else. Epic drinks and eats.

Google
I was in the Pasadena area and found this spot nearby. A solid spot to get a great cup of coffee. I ordered their latte with almond milk and it was delicious. Solid flavor and perfect temperature. This spot is a pretty big space for coffee. I’d definitely come back here again and try their other menu items.

Google
The atmosphere is very chill. It is a great place to go if you want to chat with your friends and family in a peaceful environment. I love the idea of encouraging having no wifi on weekends for encouraging socializing with your friends and family while enjoying the drink and food. The coffee are pretty with nice latte art, taste great for a non constant coffee drinker, and the pastries taste great and warm. I love the chocolate croissant 🥐 and it is a good place to go for a weekend morning or tea time.

Google
A great place to meet, hang out with your friends and catch up on life. They have spacious indoor sitting and out door patio for big group meetings. Rosebud serves great coffees and teas. The owner Dan told me that he trains each barista to differentiate each types of coffee by smell. This results in fantastic coffee in each cup. Not only coffee and teas are good here, the pastries are mesmerizing too. I loved their almond croissant where they added chocolate in the almond paste fillings resulting creamy and tasty croissant. They have a few of pastries on display which I don’t recognize. I guess they invented their own. Besides coffee and pastries, Rosebud also has a microbrewery on site. But no beers served in the morning. So I didn’t have a chance to taste their beer. We shall come back in an after to taste their beer. They do have plenty of parking in the back and on the street. It’s ideal for big group gathering.

Google
It’s my second time here. I haven’t been here for awhile so I wasn’t sure about their coffee though they have great reviews. Seating is great. Parking is great. I like their cold brew. It’s not too strong and they have their own flavor.

Yelp
Big space, saw lots of outlets/extension cords; great for those looking to get some work done. They've got a few tables outside too. It was a cold morning but it was nice and toasty inside. Cappuccino 4/5 Cinnamon Salted Maple 4/5 Strawberry Almond Croissant 5/5 Cinnamon Roll 5/5

Yelp
Pre-wedding caffeine fuel Food: Colorado Breakfast Sandwich I appreciate the choice of thick sourdough like English muffin (4/5). It was pipping hot so the egg was enjoyable (sometimes places do not heat up throughly). I asked to remove the bacon and the cashier was so gracious and suggested a substitute instead which the Turkey was great! This held me over until after the ceremony. Drink: Of course a seasonal pumpkin pie latte is the only fitting drink haha The espresso did the work well, but the syrup was a bit lacking tasted more artificial (3/5). My taste buds needed more pie spice and the dazzle PSL vibe which I would try another drink next time. A small pro is their ice size. Ambiance: A wide range of customers on their computers studying / working remote which infers great wifi, computer outlets and table arrangements. I loved the in-house brewery tank to add a little touch Service: The cashier was kind and sweet! She offered suggestions and items executed in a timely manner. All employees displayed their happy countenance with smiles to everyone that's a 5/5

Yelp
|[ a m a z i n g ]| Had sugar-free options and loved the iced hojicha latte (with oat milk sub) with toasty strong flavor just how I like it, plenty seating and looks like a great place to do work though maybe bring headphones :) |[ e a t z ]| Colorado brekkie sammie was decent though not too special for $7, I have yet to try the pastries but plan to eventually! |[ l o v e n o t e z ]| Patio seating out back so pups are welcome there, cute, wholesome and parking lot+easy street parking. Service is fabulous! Line can be a bit long but worth the wait. :D my pup and I will be back!

Yelp
This will be my second time coming here and oh my have things changed since I was last here. Came with my best friend on a wonder Sunday morning and to also get my Pasadena Coffee Passport stamped. They have plenty of street parking by the way. I noticed they have added outdoor seating, what a plus! As I walked in, I remember it being a lot emptier, but now there's actual seating & a Wild Parot inside. I ordered an Iced Vanilla Latte with Oatmilk. It was delicious & subtle. The staff were nice, and service was quick.

Yelp
Very annoyed. Came in with bag and laptop to get some work done, bought my coffee and burrito and couldn't connect to the wifi. turns out they turn off wifi on weekends. The sign for it is NOT visible from walk in or while you're ordering. As a coffee shop it's obvious people will come in to use that, if you don't have that it should be visibly posted while you walk in or atleast from where you are ordering. You have 2-3 upright signs at the counter. not putting the no wifi sign there feels intentional.

Yelp
Love the Rosebud Chai, Rosebud's version of a dirty chai! Yum! Great wifi (although they do not have wifi on weekends). Great parking! Great service too! I love the social impact that this place is all about too.

Ha K.

Yelp
Man they be having some pretty Latte Art here! Great Coffee too! Really like the chocolaty of the coffee. Highly recommend if you having a date and want to keep it warm and casual you should go to Rosebud!!! Peace!

Yelp
If the customer service is going to be shittie, at least have the coffee be good Customer service these days are getting worse, because the staff is getting older and are very disgruntled.

Yelp
Limited areas with outlets, plenty of seating, free parking in the back (15min curbside pick up), free wifi. Overall still pretty great place to wifi/study/bring laptop to work. It's a but loud for zoom mtgs you have to speak at. Outlets for plugs, some areas include extension/surger protector (so far what I noticed in a glance): - Front door wall seating area (small tables), - 1 Middle seating table connected to Wild Parrot brewery - Orange bench wall area (Wild Parrot space), - Bar top table along the same wall as the orange benches (Wild Parrot space). After 3pm, the orange benches (Wild Parrot seating area) is off limits to Rosebud customers unless you're also a Wild Parrot customer. Wild Parrot is the brewery located inside this building with Rosebud Coffee, and opens at 3pm. Ona weekday late morning, there's a mix of lapbook, book, and conversationalist (2ppl). No large groups more than 2.

Yelp
Very nice energized atmosphere. Yes it's laid back but with a warm welcoming social oriented vibe. This is the kind of place you'd expect on the beach and having some coffee or drinks with friends Coffee was actually well balanced and not bitter. I would highly highly recommend this place. They also also have a cool bar area in the center offering some unique bites and drinks.

Cindy L.

Yelp
This place is where you go for community. If you are looking for a quiet coffee shop, where you can be left alone, this is not it. The sound, feel, and look is very maximalist in the sense that whoever created this space was very intentional and thoughtful about utilizing every little nook and cranny to ensure all are welcome, whether babies or pooches. There's an area for brewing, ordering coffee and pastries, and another for food. Plenty of seating to play board games or card games. The theme seems to be the Pasadena parrots, which, (if you know you know) is also part of the merch. There's polaroids of the baristas and their favorite drinks at the register and seasonal drinks as well. I ordered the maple latte but it was nothing to talk about. I also ordered the apple danish (?) and that was the start of the show. I don't like cooked fruit but the flakiness of pastry, the subtle saltiness of the butter, and the tartness of the apples are perfectly balanced by the caramel and crumbles on top. I'm not sure what apples those are, but that is the best selection of apples for that Danish (?) I officially have a favorite fall food and it is the apple Danish.

Yelp
This coffee shop is full of Pasadena pride! I love the decorative design and vibe of the cafe. It's definitely a place you can chill at, do homework, etc. They have many different types of pastries and burritos as well! I tried the matcha donut and it was really good, very soft. The latte was made to perfection. And they share the space with a brewery?! Cool! I'll have to come back and try that out at night. Lots of parking in the back and the service was friendly and fast! We love to see it

Yelp
First stop on our Pasadena Coffee Passport booklet. Ordered the hot Rose latte and hot Rose Chai latte Both very delicious but on the lighter side. Nice little spot for a group chat. We even played with a board game. Great coffee joint for a quick stop or group project. Plentiful parking and their back lot. Very attentive staff and quick service.

Yelp
I was looking for a space to work on a Sunday. I came across Rosebud in a blog post, and it seemed to fit the bill really well. I specifically came here to work, as I don't have the environment at home. I was disappointed to see a sign on the table that read: "No laptops on this table between 11am - 11pm. You may look for another table or work on the patio." I found a small table without a sign. There was a convenient counter next to it - I went to place my phone, but noticed another sign: "Please help us keep the counter area clear." I decided I could work with it and fit my stuff on the tiny table. I went to ask about WiFi and was answered with: "We don't have WiFi on weekends" I can see they are trying to create a culture of "presence" here. There's a great community vibe: lots of people socializing, great coffee + pastries, and they share a space with a brewery. I need "third spaces" at this point in life, and cafes are one of my go-to's. This is my first time experiencing this.. I suppose having a business gives the owners the opportunity to shape the culture how they want to see it. It was a bittersweet experience: I was disappointed by the forced way of doing things ("you shouldn't be working on weekends"), but the coffee was good. Hopefully I can work towards having leisure weekends.

Aurora L.

Yelp
Great ambiance and friendly service. The latte was spot on--perfectly extra hot, just as I requested. The Spicy Bird sandwich, however, was a letdown. It lacked the spice promised in its name and tasted a bit bland overall. Maybe it's just my palate, but there was an ingredient with an off-putting smell that didn't sit well with me either. I was sad to have sacrificed my carb count to try something new. Still yet, I look forward to returning for their coffee and trying out their pastries.

Yelp
This place is highly recommended by one of my foodie friends. It's her favorite place to hang and to relax herself all the time. As soon as I walk in, the spacious and cozy environment totally amazes me. I spent time to walk around and give myself a quick tour before I place my order. People are very nice and friendly. Felt so welcomed here. Lavender latte is super refreshing and the fragrance of lavender is long lasting in my mouth for the rest of my afternoon. I slowly sip on my coffee and stay here till they close. A very remarkable first-timer experience.

Yelp
Coffee and burrito were both fine, but it's for a good cause. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, both out front and a patio area in the back. Friendly service!

Yelp
Rosebud Coffee was the spot I came to on a Saturday morning to get some work done. I visited the store at around 9:30 am and knew it was going to be busy. They have free parking in the lot, but it was nearly full by that time. After heading inside, I needed to wait a bit before I could order. I ordered a lavender latte and only waited a few minutes before it was ready. It was just okay, nothing amazing. As I searched for an opened table, I saw there were a few options inside left. Fortunately, I was able to grab the table with an outlet. Despite getting an outlet, I soon discovered that they do not provide the WiFi on the weekend. At that point, I needed to resort to my hotspot, because I was using a laptop for work. In terms of noise level, this place was very loud. There were consistently a lot of other customers, but it's also a very social spot. Note: American Express is accepted.
google avatar

Vickie V.

Yelp
Great coffee spot to get work done! Ample seating options from benches, individual tables to high tops. Free WiFi on weekdays! Didn't realize this but they share the space with Wild Parrot Brewing. Seems like when one shop closes, the other opens. The Rosebud Chai was delish! All the chai flavors with a hint of salt. The cortado was okay, too. I'd come back here to get work done.
google avatar

Lizzie D.

Yelp
This has to be my favorite coffee spot in all of Pasadena. The space is shared with Wild Parrot and they split the operating hours. What impressed me most is the outreach that this cafe does with the community. I will keep coming back again and again. The staff is always kind and the breakfast burrito is always a hit! Their latte is good but you can't go wrong with the drip either.
google avatar

Joann K.

Yelp
This cafe is really cute, i love the ambiance and love that they have a brewery. The only reason that I give this place a 3 star is because I thought the coffee was terrible. I got thier cold brew and it was sour and watered down. My friend got the americano and it was really weak. Maybe I'll come back for the food and beer once i start drinking again, but definitely would want to come to try the food and beer.
google avatar

Lexi D.

Yelp
Great hospitality! We tried the matcha donut, highly recommend. Oh and it's gluten free A great place to study and perfect for a morning date in town. Very spacious, not too cluttered.
google avatar

Mark B.

Yelp
Located in same space as WILD PARROT BREWING COMPANY. Socially-conscious company that gives training to at-risk youth, so hell yeah! Very good coffee, too.
google avatar

Danielle T.

Yelp
I love this spot! Part coffee shop, part brewery. What more could you want? I love the Colorado breakfast sandwich - it feels different than your average breakfast sandwich because of the Canadian bacon. I always get a cold brew or lavender latte - both solid Options. I love that they employ foster youth and support the community. Great spot in Pasadena :)
google avatar

Patrick L.

Yelp
Great coffee, again! I appreciated the owner's response and I was happy to try them again but, the service provided was, well; weak! My wife and I came in and ordered two iced lattes to go and then sat down and waited. The guy that took our order was fine, nothing to write home about but no complaints with him. It was taking awhile, as no one else ordered after us. So I thought it odd it took so long as there were 3 or 4 workers back there. After about 15min I got up to check and alas, there are our two iced coffees sitting on the counter. We sat at the front of the store so we could not see when they placed them there. No one called my name, no one said two iced lattes ready. Nothing. I mean this is the second time that the employees completely hacked our experience. I will go back as their hours go later than most others and the coffee is good. But I recommend the owner vet his employees much more thoroughly! 3rd time is a charm?? I hope.

Yelp
You know...I wasn't sure how to start a review for a place I had high hopes for. Went to Huntington Library and needed a drink for the long drive home. Parking: at 1 pm parked around the corner Ordered: vanilla late and matcha with oatmilk. Cost: $13 Staff: professional Conclusion: drinks were okay... I drove for over 1.5 hours and I still couldn't finish 1/4 of my drink. Was not good at all. Ended up throwing it away when I got home. Would I try this place again- maybe, but it's definitely not in my"must try again" list.

Olivia B.

Yelp
I came here on a Sunday because I had a lot of homework to do, and was disappointed to find a lot of the tables blocked off from being used by laptops. When I finally found one to use, I went to go find the Wi-Fi information, just to find a sign that says they don't have Wi-Fi on weekends. I understand that they're trying to foster community, but it's unrealistic to expect that people still don't have work on the weekends. I think blocking off tables from being used my laptop is one thing, but not having Wi-Fi is a completely other thing. I drink an iced chai, it was just OK, not worth the price because it really tasted like milk and not like the chai spices. I really like the mission of this place, but I feel like the policies on the weekends are unrealistic to the normal person's life .
google avatar

Denise V.

Yelp
Nice neighborhood coffee bar part of the Wild Parrot Brewing complex. Coffee was hot, tasted good and served quickly. Large seating area inside and outdoor area in rear parking lot.
google avatar

Hannah K.

Yelp
Came by with a friend and Rosebud was bumpin! Ambiance- -a very busy but bustling vibe. You have lunch table /bar type esque setups, tall tables, normal tables, bigger group seating, smaller ones as well. It's a hybrid coffee shop in the day and brewery/bar (I think) at night. I saw previous reviews about staff giving out passive aggressive notes asking you to leave when the brewery/bar was about to open but I actually found it find. It's similar to lights subtly being flickered/off or when last calls are told. It's just that it was the first time for sure. Service- It was normal I guess? Felt very matter of fact, which is fine for me. I don't know what type of day they might be having. Drink- Spicy Chai Latte: I loooveee chai!! A solid drink, it's definitely on the smaller side like a lot of cafes which is just how things are headed I guess. but was delicious! I don't know if I'd need to come back to Rosebud especially with the time differences but I liked the laid back feels and would be interested to try the brewery/bar next time as well. Definitely willing to come back when in the area or with pals!
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty good coffee here, love how there is a brewery that is right next to it. Fun place to come and socialize with friends
google avatar

Serena S.

Yelp
Tied for my favorite coffee place in Pasadena. The vanilla latte is always consistent and the service is always great (did not realize they support the youth in the community-- amazing!) I have also tried the breakfast sandwich and breakfast burrito, both reasonably priced and delicious. It can get a little crowded sometimes but the inside is clean and well-kept, and there is both seating on the inside and the outside as well. Don't forget they also have a parking lot in the back, which is so convenient. And be sure to enter your phone # at the counter every time you visit to rack up some points. I can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Christa C.

Yelp
Love their mission to support and train youth! Vanilla latte was good and the space was lively without making it difficult to do work. Baristas were very nice and helpful. There was plenty of seating inside and most people there were doing work when I came on a weekday morning. Parking was very easy in the lot in the back. I'd definitely come back to Rosebud!
google avatar

Kaylyn S.

Yelp
This is a cute coffee spot that is inside the Wild Parrot Brewery. It took us a little bit to find it since the address is technically on the side street, but with a little exploration, we finally found it. It is definitely popular since it was full on a Saturday morning (mid-morning) and there was a line to order. Kudos to Rosebud for having alternative "milks" (oat, soy, etc.). There is a nice selection of pastries, but nothing gluten-free so we weren't able to try anything. Our coffee drinks (lattes and mochas), but nothing to make a special trip for. They do not provide wifi on the weekends and have "no laptops" on several of their tables. Neither of these were an issue for us since we were simply grabbing coffees for the road, but could be a game changer for others.
google avatar

Melody S.

Yelp
Stopped in for an iced tea and was happy to see they had so many options! Plus the "feel good" factor helping support foster kids is priceless! Glad we found this place. We'll be back!
google avatar

Juna M.

Yelp
Really nice place to sit and work. The coffee is pretty good. Some of the drinks I got like the iced tea felt a bit watered down but for the most part their drinks are good.
google avatar

Anastasia K.

Yelp
Cool ambiance. The music is a bit loud for studying or working, but if you're here to chill i think it's a cool vibe. I got the matcha with whole milk + syrup and cold brew coffee. The cold brew and matcha were both really watered down. The matcha latte just tasted like milk honestly. We ended up throwing out both our drinks without finishing them. I might come by another time to try out their other items, but so far it was a bit disappointing. The bar side looked pretty cool though, might stop by for trivia night to scope out the vibe. Service was great!
google avatar

Yelp
I may be entering my coffee shop era and this is the perfect place to add to the list if you're in a similar boat. This place is amazing! The atmosphere, the space, the staff, the wifi; it's all great. My first time walking in, it was pretty decently packed. But there were still plenty of seats. I've been back quite a few times since to get some work done. I love that there is usually plenty of space and seating options. The drinks and food are pretty good. The options are pretty simple & standard. I usually get an iced matcha or iced mocha and some pastry or toast (depending on the morning). I do like that they are eco-conscious as they use glassware for in-person drinks which is great. It's perfect for me as I can get some pretty solid work done. It's also a great place to have a 1:1 chat with someone. Plus, they have their own parking lot, with plenty of space, which is a huge plus, especially in Pasadena. It turns into a brewery in the afternoon (around 3pm-4pm). But if you're a mid-morning person looking for a casual space to get work done like me, this is a great spot!
google avatar

Tru S.

Yelp
This place has somehow become my favorite spot for coffee. I love their rosebud salted mocha. Nothing super special about their drinks, just exceptionally well made. Their breakfast burritos are nice as well, the sauce I think is ***chef's kiss***. I have yet to try their pastries, but maybe next time. Parking lot is usually clutch for a spot, it's free, but I have had a time where it was full and I just parked on the street, wasn't a big deal (no meters). The place shares a room with a brewery, but they're open during opposing hours so no interference; I mentioned it just so you don't think you're in the wrong place.
google avatar

Stephanie F.

Yelp
Rosebud Coffee is the right amount of casual, hipster, and down-to-earth for us! We enjoy the vibe and the coffee here. The staff is always nice and pleasant to talk to and we like to sit in the parking lot space when it's not too hot. It's always a nice experience to stop by Rosebud when in Pasadena :)

Yelp
I have been going to this tanning place for years and right next to it is this coffee place/brewery. Today was the first time i went inside and it was such a nice and pleasant place to visit. Since it is also a brewery, you would see the huge tanks for brewing beer as the same time which is call Wild Parrot. But it was a bit early for beer at 10:30 for me (kidding, they dont open beer section till 3pm) Had a cold brew and a breakfast burrito. I am not a coffee connoisseur or food critic but everything tasted good. They have very simple items for breakfast and pastry and a good selection for coffee. The thing i love about this place is the ambience, the people who works there. Very cool neighborhood vibe. I'd rather spend my money here than another Starbucks. Support local business, it is a very nice place to have your coffee and do some work on your laptop. (its s big place and lots of seats available, but go early as they fill up by noon).
google avatar

Grace C.

Yelp
My fave coffee spot in Pasadena. There are always seats, and plenty of outlets for the low battery folks. Their matcha is solid, but nothing life changing. However, what's awesome is that they employ youth transitioning out of the foster system and trains them with skills. I'd much rather support that even if the food/drink isn't mindblowing. Come here in the evening/night for Wild Parrot Brewery! I remember talking to the owner once and his goal was to maximise this space for the community, from morning till night. Yelp
Been here a few times to study and it is perfect ambience for working. You'll see a lot of people working here from morning until closing so it is a busy cafe. I mostly get their mocha lattes and their recent salted rose mocha is amazing. Also tried their breakfast burrito which is pretty good Free Parking in the back and street parking in front. They share the building with a brewery that opens at 3pm

Yelp
I first discovered this place pre-pandemic because my colleague and I needed somewhere to meet and work. It used to not get so crowded, but I think the word got out. Great place to sit and chill or work. But last time I was there, it was packed. Also, easy parking (own parking lot, and street parking seems pretty easy), and a HUGE space.

Yelp
This place is fantastic - good food, great drinks, PARKING, good vibe. I'll go again for sure.

Yelp
My favorite coffee shop in Pasadena. smoothest beans they use. Whatever it is, its magnificent. Wish they carried Soy milk though because Oatmilk is terrible for you.

Yelp
:: Drink :: I ordered the Iced Vanilla Latte and it was good, not too sweet which I like. :: Service :: Customer service was good, the gentleman that took my order was nice. I guess I haven't been here in a while, I didn't know they expanded and now have a brewery in the same spot. :: Parking :: There's a parking lot in the back and there's street parking in front of the shop. There is an outdoor seating area in the back as well. :: Restroom :: Yes, they have a restroom.

Yelp
Such a cool coffee shop! Def work a visit. There's plenty of parking in their back lot and additional seating. But there's so many benches inside you definitely won't get a spot to sip on coffee and get some work done here. The inside is cool they also share the space with another brewery business opened later in the day.

Yelp
spacious and clean environment parking great quality and variety of pastries and coffee friendly barista (especially Roy, he is knowledgeable in coffee ) Would highly recommend Rosebud for people who need a spot to chill and relax. I appreciate their heart for helping transitional-age youth as they are looking for a place to work and skills training.
