This was the best food I’ve ever had! EVER! My friend and I had drinks and dinner it was amazing all the way down to the dessert! The carrot cake was to die for I love in Indianapolis but think about driving here just to eat DAILY! I went in October of 22! I’m picky about my carrot cake too! This appetizer we had was so good it’s the best thing I have EVER ATE. It was lobster got, never heard of it my friend ordered it but it was the best thing I’ve ever tasted. I want to bring my mom for her birthday or Mother’s Day! What a great dinner!

Older, dusty, outdated, It was completely dead in the restaurant as I ate my meal. No music or anything, just silence, which is fine if you are home. I decided to play music quietly as i ate my meal, the owner of this restaurant complained about this, very stiff and dry much like the steak I ordered that was expensive and didn't come w a side at all, so I added asparagus at a 16 dollar upcharge. 🙃 I left a nice tip. I still had fun in Chicago

What can I tell you? Everything was so good, the ambience, the service, and the food was spectacular. First time in Chicago, and next time me and my wife are in town, we’ll definitely come back!!!

I came for a business dinner and it was a great experience, the server Webster was amazing and very knowledgeable about the menu and the tastes. He recommended dishes for even the pickiest of eaters enjoyed. He told us how to augment the dishes to make them as delicious as possible. When I go back I'll make sure ask to be seated at his section! The atmosphere was pretty noisy and it was hard to discuss some topics without speaking loudly.

Just returned after quite some time. Everything was perfect. The best it has ever been for us. Excellent fun service. The steaks (filets) were cooked exactly as requested. I understand why some feel the coating is too salty, but we loved it. The beef had great flavor. Drinks were excellent. Asparagus was properly cooked, and I am stupid for baked potatoes. Our server was amazing and fun.

A good meal... Not a great meal, but a good meal. Fair price and nice staff who served me quickly and with a smile. Would go back, but would not go out of my way. Lots of great restaurants available.

My husband and I had Christmas Dinner at The Rosebud Steakhouse. He had Salmon Piccata, absolutely perfect. We shared sautéed spinach, delicious. Me, Big Smile, Filet with Truffle butter that was prepared flawlessly. Nice Wine Selection. Service was excellent. Our Waiter was there when needed but allowed us to fully enjoy our dinner. Highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely visit again.

Rose bud was a present surprise. Staff and the food were a chefs kiss. Ambiance was cool. Not loud you can have a conversation without yelling across the table. Great place for a date or just dinner with friends

Always a solid choice. Love the chopped steak. Pasta in vodka sauce is terrific. Delivery is timely and items ordered are packaged well.

Across the street my Hilton Hotel. This was a fantastic steakhouse. The ribeye steak sandwich actually had whole ribeye on it. I expected shaved ribeye. Steak frys were excellent and the house salad was huge and delicious.

Food and Service....outstanding! We were visiting Chicago for the weekend and were looking for a place to grab appetizers as we had a super late dinner planned. This place had early reservations and we ended up pretty much having the entire restaurant to ourselves. Our server was delightful. He spent lots of time chatting with us about the history of the restaurant and was just overall so friendly. We sat at a table that had a tribute to a long time regular, Mr. George Burrows. It was fun to learn the history of this patron. We had the Lobster GOT, the Fork & Knife Bacon and a side of Cauliflower Gratin and OMG....these dishes were riiiiiiiiiiich!. The Lobster pieces were nestled in butter, gooey cheese and herbs. The fork and knife bacon was huge! This slab of pork belly was tender and slathered in a smokey sweet sauce. The cauliflower was extra cheesy. This really was the perfect meal and dining experience. Food and service were top notch.

Everything about this place is amazing!!! Not one bad thing I could say! The food was soooooo amazing and the ambiance was perfect! Mike our waiter was so helpful and perfect!

Definitely the best steak I've ever had. When my server brought my plate, I was about to ask for steak sauce and I'm so glad I didn't. It was not needed at all, it probably would have been an insult to the chef. It was perfection. My server was so professional. He explained the kind of cut I had, took his time and made me feel so important. The restaurant was great. I can't wait to go back on my next Chicago trip.

Costumer service was incredible. We were 20 mins late for our reservation and even though they were busy they still accommodate us. The food was ready super fast and everything we tried was delicious. Great amount of food and dessert was the best.

My husband and I stopped in after spending the day in Chicago. This place is a must have! We sat at the bar and had full dinner service. The steak was nicely prepared and well seasoned. No complaints here and will return.

Rosebud is absolutely one of our favorite restaurants anywhere! The food is second to none! The steaks! Wow! I highly recommend the bone-in ribeye! My wife had the filet... so tender it practically melted in her mouth!

I cant talk enough about the service and the food here. Sever had worked there since opening and was amazing. Get the bacon app if you do nothing else. Best bacon I've ever had. The steak porterhouse we shared and the califlower is legit the best so cheesy and delish. !! We will be back for sure can't say enough good things

I'll keep this simple. My mind was taken to the finest symphony. The musicians and conductor making their way to a grand crescendo of flavors that played a tune so lovely it brought a fictional tear to my eye. An orchestral masterpiece, a truly brilliant meal. Our group of 4 had an everything went right meal. It started with our server, Pool. We've been there before but she had great suggestions for our appetizers and wine. The crab cake and the lobster got was served like escargot with lots of melted cheese on top. Their great table rolls were perfect for soaking it all up. 3 of us had the Dover sole which was perfectly cooked and boned at our table side. One of our friends wanted her salmon very simple and they obliged. The wine was a reasonable Hess Pinot noir. The whole restaurant team was outstanding with their attention!

We tried Rosebud Steakhouse last week on a recommendation from a guy we met at another bar that was too busy to accommodate our party and had a fantastic experience. Since all of the tables were full, we went to the bar- we had a party of 6, and we're working out who was going to sit and who was going to float around so we wouldn't be in an awkward line- when the manager came up to us and said that he'd pushed a couple of tables together so we could all sit together. So we took our strong, yummy drinks to the dining room (the bartender was super gracious about transferring our check) and all sat together. Once we were seated, we discovered that some of us had eaten and were there to drink while others of us were starving and still others were willing to eat again. Our waiter was really accommodating about this, which was really nice. So...I had the sole and it was delicious. The waiter deboned and plated it at the table which was kind of cool. My husband and I split a wedge salad to start and it was a really yummy wedge- crisp lettuce, thick bacon, and a really lovely blue cheese dressing. Farther down the table, someone had a burger, which presented beautifully but I heard wasn't the most memorable. We split the following sides amongst the table: cauliflower au gratin (so good), grilled asparagus (yum), mashed potatoes (kind of dry). Oh I almost forgot- they brought out bread at the beginning that was wonderful!

Our visit today was a culinary adventure! We had been to Chicago before but missed coming to Rosebud Steakhouse on 192 E Walton PL. The food we ate: Spinalis with Bordelaise Sauce (me), my wife had the Short Rib Bolognese. Amazing! The Spinalis steak was soft and very flavorful (did not need the sauce on the side!) the mash potatoe bed it came on and the red / green sweet roasted pepers tied everything in. My wife's Short Rib... she took the left overs! She reminded me the Hilton had a fridge and microwave (don't tell the chef!!!). I also had the Jalapeño Sweet Corn Chowder as a starter and it was also delicious... at this point need to also mention the dinner rolls (sooo good). Next, the restaurant was extremely clean, tables, silverware and glasses spotless (I am picky about this). Lastly but not least, our service team comprised of Ryan and Horacio worked seamless and provided a memorable afternoon of exceptional food, drinks, desserts (Key Lime Pie / Butter cake) and coffee. We are here for a wedding and will return. An honorable mention, Scott checked in on us and made us feel like we were having dinner with family. What a gentleman! Had the boneless ribeye steak and it was perfectly charred and cooked. Delicious. The side I had was Mac and Cheese also delicious. Nice quiet atmosphere and the service was great. Restaurant was right across the street from my hotel so very convenient. Right off Magnificent Mile. Loved this place.

OK, I LOVE this place. This was my 4th time and it wasn't what it should have been. Myself and another guest at the table ordered the rib steak and peppers. The steak was really tough, full of sinew. It was cooked OK, but when I think this was only 6 dollars cheaper than the rib steak, I should have ordered the rib steak. Problem is I was from out of town and knew I couldn't eat the entire steak. Probably should have split it??? Ordered a Caeser salad that all of us split. Delicious. Fresh greens seasoned just right. Only complaint is for this price, the croutons should be fresh, not out of a box. One of our guests split a baked potato with her BF and the waiter dropped half of it on my shoe. So I probably would have been PO'd, but we weren't dressed up (which is a shame because this place really calls for wearing a jacket). The tater hit my tennis shoe, so no big deal, but still. I was told the rib steaks were amazing. The asparagus was perfect and I guess the replacement potato was pretty good. None of us had any drinks as we pre-gamed in the hotel room and saved about $20 per person by doing that. I know because I ordered a takeout burger and martini the night before and it was $40 bucks ($20 for the burger and $20 for the drink). Anyway, this is not a cheap place - almost $400 for the 4 of us with the tip and no cocktails. The food is usually very good, and the staff is great. Tonight was just a hiccup, I guess. My dinner (and one of the dining companions) was a 3. The other 2 guests were a 5, so an overall 4 this time.

I love this steakhouse. If you dine in a city near the ocean you should look for good seafood restaurants. If you dine in the Midwest in a city like Chicago then steak is the wise choice. If you are a regular at steak houses you will probably not find any major surprises at Rosebud steak, creamed spinach, potatoes are the staples and then you just order around them. My favorites here are the New York Strip and Ribeye I like a side of sautéed mushrooms to smother my steak and my steak is always rare to medium rare. I think I heard my steak Moo one time when I stuck my fork into it. Full bar. Park on the street if you get there 15-20 minutes before your reservation to look for a parking spot. If not there are plenty of indoor garages. Dine casually and finish the meal off with a generous slice of cheesecake. Don't feel guilty. We had SUCH an amazing time. Our waiter was one of the kindest people we have ever met. He made our night and we cannot wait to go back! They were very accommodating -- there was confusion about the order that I made (didn't think it was a patty vs. steak) and they immediately fixed it for us, even though we were happy to keep the original order. 1000% recommend. Best customer service in Chicago! Thank you everyone for making the night so special!

Went to dinner with my wife we had a 6:15 reservation. Started with a nice bottle of wine and meatballs to start. Meatballs we just mediocre and a bit dry. the wine was good but the sever had absolutely no idea how to pour. Every time he would refill the glass there would be wine all over the table. Extremely disappointing when you ordered $100 bottle of wine.For the main course my wife had the fish and it was pretty good. I had the bone in ribeye, which tasted dry very little flavor and what I could taste almost tasted like lighter fluid. For the dessert we order a piece of carrot cake and a piece of butter cake. Granted, we got them to go when we got back to our hotel room. They were absolutely horrible! Needless to say for two people with a bill of $360 I was extremely disappointed. There are way better steakhouses in the city. This was the first and last time we will ever eat at this particular restaurant. please note I did say something to the waiter regarding the flavor of the steak. He remarked in a way that was insulting and almost implied that I didn't know what good food taste like. Did culinary school in Paris and studied under chefs for over 10 years. I know what a piece of good beef should taste like . He himself may need to take a course on what properly prepared meat should be. Would recommend multiple other steakhouses before ever dining at this restaurant again.

Overwhelmed by the most professional old school Matre D and tag teamed by 3 servers to make our Chicago Steakhouse experience memorable. The 3 part filets with different sauces were amazingly unique. Seated at the end sidewalk table was incredibly romantic. This is how service and fine steaks should be. Thank you..

This place is amazing. We live in the neighborhood and frequent here often. The food is perfect, the server Jay is great! Even if mistakes are made, the restaurant is quick to right the wrongs and treat the customer respectfully. Try it out!! Great for date night!

If you want an authentic Chicago steakhouse experience -- not just a routine chain restaurant-- then come here. And if you want to feel like a part of the family, sit at the bar! The food is incredible-- the lamb lollipops perfectly cooked and delicious, and the wedge salad crisp, cold, and fresh! The lamb is served in a spicy red pepper sauce that was intense -- overpowering for the lamb but perfect for bread-dipping. The server Webster turned me on to the peppercorn sauce and that was the perfect creamy peppery pairing for the lamb. Service was unmatched and you can tell the serving team gets along and is having fun, because it translates into great service. Eat here and enjoy a classic Chicago steakhouse! Also, Stephanie at the bar was excellent and Angelo the owner came by to say hi! Joseph wasn't half bad either (just joking he was great!)

I was on the fence about writing this review as I was raised if you don't have something nice to say? Keep your mouth shut. This was my second visit to Rosebud a few years ago, I figured we'd give it another shot. We were looking for a bite to eat after a show. The good: rigatoni vodka was good. Food came out warm. Bathrooms were clean. The not so good: we ordered a drink with blueberries, it came with cherries. The service. Our waiter walked away mid-taking our order. We were missing a napkin. No butter with bread. Service ranged from ignoring us to slow. We walked away feeling like maybe we were imposing upon them by just breathing.

Service was fantastic! But the food is not so good. Ambiance was accommodating to children.

Came here with my partner for our 3rd monthiversary dinner (yes we're those people). We wanted good steak and this place was close to our hotel with great reviews. For appetizers we got the Maryland crab cake and Caesar salad. For our entree we split the original Chicago cut bone-in ribeye and for sides we got the Mac and Cheese and grilled asparagus. We also had a few of their cocktails which were very good and wine with dinner. Everything we had was very good. But the stars for me were the steak and the Mac and Cheese. Best of all we had leftovers to take back with us and nosh on the next day and we were stuffed. The service was collective and excellent. I love this model because we were never passed over. Someone was always there to attend to us and all were knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend this place for a regular night's dinner or a special occasion.

Visiting from out of town, I made reservations ahead of time because we were looking for something special for our one night stay in city. It was busy but our server timed everything perfectly, and he had a natural sense of humor about him, which we thought was great. The drinks and steak were amazing. We enjoyed the ambiance and would consider sitting at the bar next time we come by. Loved everything about that night. Thank you for your service.

Service was phenomenal, atmosphere was busy, and the food was great. My only complaints were how packed it was inside and a few of the food items (bread at beginning of meal and lamb lollipop) were charred. Our steaks on the other hand were cooked to perfection. Our waitress was on it the entire meal, she was excellent. I would definitely return!

Food was really good. Most of our items had a lot of garlic which is okay because I like garlic. Service wasn't fast but the waitress was very responsive and nice.

I think that a steakhouse that gets a 5 star should never misinterpret temperatures of an expensive steak. I asked for a medium + , specifically not medium well, and got a bone in filet well into the grey area. IT WAS STILL GOOD THOUGH, don't get me wrong. The sides were ok. A baked potato with not much excitement and celebrated Mac and cheese that was simply good, not great. Nothing special. THE LOBSTERGOT was outstanding!! Get it if you love lobster and melted cheese, etc. SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT!! ATMOSPHERE WAS EXCELLENT!! I think if they added a few exciting sides, this is a 4, and obviously, you've got to get the right cow temperature!!! If you get the right temp? 5 star....but simply not my visit. Sorry.

When we first walked in it seemed promising. Everyone was very friendly. The decor was nice but was pretty loud. Initially the service was good though but after the food came we only saw our waiter when he brought the check. We waited almost 30 minutes for him to come back to take our payment and ended up having to ask someone else to pay. One of our party asked for well done and it was pink and was disappointed in the Parmesan truffle tater tots.

There Braised Beef w/ penne pasta, was awesome. Comfort food for a tired traveler. Caesar salad was very good. Very quite atmosphere.

Just a top notch place. Wonderful service, wine list, and the food is delicious. Ambiance is formal, but business casual works. I would make a reservation because it is a popular place for a reason.

A free day in Chicago after a few days at a conference was time well spent. Spent the afternoon doing what tourists do but all the while we knew we did not want to eat tourist food. We went off the beaten path and began our search for the local steakhouse. We were walking aimlessly down side streets and areas where we saw homes when we came across Rosebud Steakhouse. Small place and friendly atmosphere. Locals definitely frequented this place because while there people were going up to the bar to pick up their to-go orders or just to order and the bartender knew them by name. We had arrived for happy hour so we decided to order a couple beverages and the meatball appetizer as we sat at the bar to enjoy conversation. Time flew it was time for dinner, we ordered the filet mignon with a side of asparagus and a Caesar salad. I think what I really appreciated was the bartender was not pushy and just allowed for time between happy hour and dinner. Our food arrived and was simply delicious! the steak could be cut with a butterknife and asparagus were not overly cooked. I love salads and I do not think I have ever had one I did not like. The price fit the service and the eats! Perfect choice for that Chicago Steak!

Solid low-key steakhouse. Unfortunately I hit it during peak holiday rush which was not ideal but there's nothing not to like about this place. Lobster prepared like traditional escargot was genuinely exciting.

Stopped through here with some friends before the dinner rush. Lights were dim (in a romantic kind of way) and it was pretty quiet. We were greeted immediately and got a table right away. Our waiter gave us some suggestions with the food and drink menus and just chatted with us a bit. He brought us some bread and it was the best bread I had in my life. It kinda gave me hawaiian bread with a parmesan crust. It was so good. All of us at the table told him to run another order back to us. The food was really delicious too. I had a petite filet - medium and my husband had the lamb chops. The sides are shareable so we all went with the Mac and cheese and asparagus. Honey that Mac and cheese stole the show! I went in with low expectations on it but was blown out the water. All of us couldn't stop talking about it even while eating the rest of the food! I'm really glad this place was across the street from our hotel. I'm so tempted to stop by before I leave for some bread and Mac to go.

$84 for a double Angel's Envy. It is what it is, I paid the bill. That is a ridiculous price, the bartender should have made me aware that they were going to take me over the coals.

Our Waiter Chris was absolutely amazing as was all the staff. More than accommodating from the start and Chris made the experience for my girlfriends birthday an absolute home run, for the whole family. The steaks were incredible as were all of the 4 sides we had and the knife and fork bacon and oysters and the salads. Honestly, I have eaten many places in Chicago but this was my first trip to Rosebud but won't be my last. Why had I not eaten here before. If I could give 100 stars I would, everything was absolutely perfect.
