The Best Montreal Brunches for Your Mother’s Day Plans | Eater Montreal

"Even vegan mums can splash out for Mother’s Day. This St-Laurent café is offering a $70 vegan or $85 non-vegan brunch for two ($130 or $150, respectively, for four). The vegan menu features red curry tofu spread wth croutons; celery root and cucumber remoulade; mushroom and spinach quiche; and grilled asparagus salad with mint and vegan feta. The non-vegan version adds smoked salmon mousse, snow crab salad with cucumber, and a duck and fig quiche. But the $45 half bottle of Champagne pairs well with either version. And while the the cafe/bar’s famous Chartreuse-doused baked Alaska won’t be available, the wild blueberry and raspberry gelée that comes with either Mother’s Day menu is a much easier feat for takeout and delivery."

The Best New Cafés in Montreal (Spring 2020) | Eater Montreal

"With a cozy vintage feel, Le Roseline is coffee shop by day and neighbourhood buvette by night. Those looking to eat may want to stick around after 5 p.m. — while the daytime menu of coffee shop standards alongside charcuterie and cheese checks the right boxes, chef Alex Collyer’s French-Italian menu of small plates shines bright." - Tim Forster

Great dinner, the service was above par and the food excellent and beautifully presented. Lots of options to choose from, the octopus was on point. The mezcal drink was delicious. Escargot with bone marrow brought me back to where I first had this at Charcuts in Calgary. Loved it.

Beautiful restaurant, great food.. Beef tartar , and burrata were fresh and tasty, amazing service. Definitely will come back here. Highly recommended

We had a wonderful time here. It does seem like it’s the sort of place you’d want a reservation for, so we were lucky to have a window. They’ve got a nice wine list written on the walls, and impeccable buratta. But this place really shines for its decor — the lighting is great and moody, the leather seats look divine, and I could spend ages looking at the elegant little trinkets along the shelves.

The atmosphere is incredible! You can practically see the history on the walls, it feels like a place you'd want to comfortably relax in (complete with lounge-style couches). The staff made great drinks and were very polite. A terrific choice to splurge on a romantic and haute-class evening.

Picked this location to celebrate a special birthday so we booked way in advance. When we arrived they told us they didn’t have a proper table for us, only a coffee table because they were fully booked - we are the ones who booked? So we had to eat all squished around a small coffee table. We then ordered a bunch of food & after 45+ mins of waiting for it they came over and told us it wasn’t going to come in time before our allocated time slot would be over? Which seemed like their fault not ours? So they asked if we wanted to cancel the food that we had been sat waiting ages for. Eventually had to leave and eat somewhere else which wasn’t easy to find on a Saturday night without reservation and in the rain. Luckily we had a good spirited birthday girl but felt very left down by this establishment.

Google
I liked roseline for the service and wine list. The wine list is generous and has nice options despite the higher price point. However options by the glass are limited for a wine bar. The service we got was nice from the team there on a Wednesday night. The minus for we was the food, potions are tapas style so quite small. We had the asparagus and burrata, Gnocchi and the baked Alaska and for the last two, the flavor parings were unusual, not complimentary and made for a poor dish.

First time back to Montreal and this was made lovely by a dinner at a beautiful, intimate wine bar - Roseline! Reservation was made by a friend, and they were accommodating to have an additional friend join us. Tables are small and intimate; there were also lounge chairs and sofas around for those who come for wine and snacks. Food was incredible, but small portions, not a typical tapas plate for several people, perhaps suited for 2-3 at a table. What a pleasant surprise to also have a live jazz band play on a Saturday night! Pictured 1) the best dish, the homemade gnocchi 2) Cod Accras (a side of Shirazi brunoise and citrus mayonnaise) 3) Homemade focaccia, grilled cheese, Zatar spices 4) Linguini (pesto sauce and pistachio crumble) 5) Charcoal grilled shrimps (Cajun, thaï pepper and garlic marinade, homemade pico de gallo)

Loving the atmosphere reflecting the chic and vintage French pleasant ambiance. The little details from the music to the small artwork in the place make all the differences. The customer service was impeccable! I stayed the whole day for the coffee shop during the day, the wine in the evening and try the food for supper. I highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Competent and prompt service throughout. "To Share" in lieu of "Appetizers" offers a wide array of dishes of which we were only able to sample one, fried Brussels sprouts in anchovy sauce with anchovies on the side -- a delicious way to complement a Gimlet Sour, chosen from an extensive listing of cocktails. For a main course I had a well-prepared and generously sized lamb shank on polenta with a bit of crisp leek on top -- outstanding. My wife, a vegetarian, had roasted cauliflower with tahini sauce which she praised highly, and finished the meal with a generous portion of carrot cake while I ended with an espresso. Both of us accompanied the entree with Canadian wines, one white (from Quebec) and one red (from Ontario). The wines matched all other aspects of the meals in terms of their superb quality. The competent service with impeccable timing and exemplary individual attention ought to be recognized as the critical element making a wonderful dinner into a truly memorable experience.

Yelp
Found this spot strolling down the street walking towards the metro. Was a beautiful day and we sort of just liked the look of this place. Someone on yelp said this was their favorite wine bar in the city so we gave that thesis a test. Solid wine list and the bartender/waiter really knew his wine. Sat in the sun and enjoyed a glass of orange wine; my wife had a recommended rose and made for a lovely afternoon. The inside looks absolutely stunning, but we were apt to sit in the sun and people watch.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! Read about it and decided to check it out and immediately fell in Love as soon as I walk in the place. The decor is so cozy and warm...the brick walls, the leather sofas and small tables make this place absolutely lovely. There is a great Selection of wine (they even have orange wines) and the food menu has a bit of everything is you want to just munch. The only bad thing is that you absolutely need to order food if you are consuming alcohol as they don't have their liquor license which is a bit counter intuitive since it is a wine bar by night (coffee shop during the day). The tables are also very close to each other so you can definitely hear the conversation of your neighbors so might not be the best place if you are on a first date. But all in all love it and would definitely even back.

Yelp
Great new AM - Cafe PM - Wine place around the corner from my place. Since we saw it open I have been looking for the opportunity to try it out. I have only done the AM thing for now and it was a nice quiet place to have a coffee and work. The place is very nice and looks like an even better place for a glass of wine. I'll be back. Enjoy!

Yelp
Le Roseline - Montreal. Super cute bar. The cafe is not too good though, but will definitely come back to try the bar.
