"When you fine people of Infatuation Nation send us recommendations - via Instagram comments, Text Rex, tweets or even that old school thing our parents still do called "email" - we listen. And when we hear it from every direction, we act. The burger at Rose's has been pushed on us constantly, so we knew this was going to be good. The people are rarely wrong. Rose's is an upscale dive serving elevated bar food in the space that once housed the original Franny's. It's a locals hang, and an excellent option for low key meals, laid back Sports On TV or a pre/post Barclays Center EEEEEATS mission. They have a great Outdoor/Patio Situation out back too, which is key for the warmer months. The burger is the star of the show, and the reason you're coming here. Rose's burger is the anthesis to all these crazy custom burger blends every restaurant brags about on their menu these days. There's no LaFrieda beef concoction, no crazy special sauce, no pretzel bun, no lobster tail served atop Rose's burger. It's a classic burger on a soft sesame bun with nothing except griddle grease, American cheese, and good feelings. Your grandfather would approve. The rest of the small menu at Rose's is solid too, and from what we hear, they'll be expanding upon it a lot. The spit pork is one of the better pork chops we've had in recent memory, and if that's any indication of where things are going, the future is bright and meaty. Once again, big thanks going out to our readers for tipping us off on Rose's. If you eat somewhere great that you think we'll love, tell us. Food Rundown Grilled Corn Corn sitting in a bed of lime mayonnaise and chili, always a crowd pleaser. Order it. Onion Rings We have a real soft spot for heavily breaded, large onion rings here at Infatuation, and when onion rings own their own spot on an appetizer menu, and are served with a housemade horseradish dipping sauce, you know we'll be ordering them. We were not disappointed. Wood Grilled Mushroom Lettuce & Tomato Sandwich A healthier play on the BLT, Rose's has got a MLT on the menu. That's right, Mushroom Lettuce & Tomato. If you are into the magic mushrooms, you will be a very happy camper housing this sandwich. Hamburger with French Fries Not too big, not too small, with no bells or whistles, Rose's burger is a perfectly cooked, extra juicy patty sitting inside one of the softest, buttery sesame buns your mouth will ever have the pleasure of meeting. Add cheese for an extra $1 and prepare for hamburger happiness. Spit-Roasted Pork Loin A pork chop as soft as a baby's bottom, easy to cut, easy to eat, with just a tad of spice to it. Definitely something we'd order again." - Andrew Steinthal

"Today there are roughly 12 employees at Rose's who start out at $10 an hour and are eligible for raises every six months with an evaluation, Mitchell says. With tips included, the hourly wage rises up to around $16 per hour. Mitchell and Peters decided on the starting wage based on places they previously worked and felt respected and paid well. Other benefits include free meals during shifts. Staff can also host potluck dinners, and use the money earned to travel out of state for culinary training." - Brittany Hutson

Cute established restaurant on Reed’s Lake. Cozy atmosphere, fireplace and porch area overlooking the lake. Great selection of food, and very delicious! Our server was Julie, she was friendly and attentive. Today we ordered the brunch special French Toast. Biting into the French toast was like eating delicious fluffy clouds! We also ordered a Reuben- it’s always a great go-to! This Reuben is amazing!!!!!!!

Have eaten at Rose’s for many years now. It’s a charming restaurant by a lake in beautiful East Grand Rapids with indoor and outdoor sitting. The ambiance is relaxed but unique with varying decor as you walk from the front to the back door. The menu has changed slightly over the years particularly one of our favorites: the crab cake dish. Now comes on a bed of apple slaw whereas before was served with a corn chip salad with pumpkin seeds but is still an excellent choice. Tiramisu remains creamy, “chocolaty” and delicious. The caramel popcorn with the check adds a nice touch.

I’ve enjoyed several business lunches at Rose’s over the years, and it’s always been a good experience. The service is good, the views of the lake are excellent, and the food is great. Our appetizers, seasonal bruschetta and some crab cakes, were delicious, and my meal, chicken crusted with parmesan, was fantastic without being overly filling. Portions were good though. I’ve never had a bad experience eating here, and I’d recommend for a nice meal any day.

Google
Awesome made from scratch tasting entrees to desserts delicious scrumptious a treat the smells of wood fire pizza and the need to try the cream brûlée will make us come back for sure more than 2 hour drive the bass and walleye were great small plate and chicken dish and Brussels all very satisfying. Our group tried bread pudding and tiramisu no disappointment what so ever!!!!!

Google
TLDR: A lovely place with great service, greater views, satisfying drinks and tasty food! A perfect location for a dinner date, catching up with the girls, or even a business dinner. We started by breathing in the wonderful fresh air and taking in the beautiful view of the water before ordering a mojito and an old fashioned. They were both as expected and we enjoyed them. We also got some S. Pellegrino to avoid the GR tap water. We ordered some HOUSE BREAD (house bread with cheese and herb oil) which was perfectly baked, and we munched on that until they brought us our entrees- we both ordered the same thing! 😅 LOBSTER & SHRIMP RAVIOLIS (chestnut mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, baby spinach, taleggio cream, gremolata asiago cheese) except I’m picky!🤣 So I got it without the mushrooms, onions and peppers, and he got it without the mushrooms. 🚫 🍄‍🟫 I definitely loved this place and plan to return soon.

Google
Very nice restaurant on the water. Great views. The root chips (kinda a Saratoga chip) were delicious, with nice side sauces. The (wood fired) pizza was very good. The other food that our group ordered was good. Beer selection was good. Service (Marcus) was very good.

Google
Rose's has a great atmosphere for a meal near the water. The patio is a nice place to sit and relax. I had the turkey cranberry sandwich which was delicious. The root chips are my new favorite chip and I will be dreaming about them. Service was excellent, Tim was our server and he was wonderful. The Key Lime cocktail was spectacular!

Google
Rose's is a lovely spot on the edge of Reed's Lake to grab a tasty meal. The decor is cozy inside and spacious outside. They have historical pictures on the walls that add to the nostalgic atmosphere. The menu has plenty of options that will satisfy most everyone. They were very accommodating when I wanted to omit ingredients to my order. The staff was kind and helpful at every turn. As for the food - it was delicious! All of the members of our party devoured every morsel. The pricing was middle of the road, but I felt it was a good value for the clear quality of the ingredients and preparation. We will be returning next time we are in Michigan!

Yelp
The food was delicious and the atmosphere was quaint and warm. The waiter, Marcus, inviting and knowledgeable about the menu and the area. Will definitely return on our next vacation.

Yelp
It was my birthday yesterday, and my mother-in-law took me to lunch at a lovely restaurant. She was thrilled to introduce me to the place, and I didn't know what to expect since it was my first time. We were delighted to find it wasn't busy. Upon entering, I noticed how cozy the atmosphere was. The hallway featured many memorabilia, providing a nice distraction while waiting to be seated and offering a glimpse into the restaurant's history. We chose a seat outside overlooking Reeds Lake. Our server was attentive and asked if we needed drinks. We ordered coffee and water. The ambiance was pleasant, with a beautiful rope chandelier and windows overlooking the lake. Inside, there was a fireplace and an open kitchen (though I didn't pay much attention). For lunch, I ordered rigatoni bolognese, and my mother-in-law had a cranberry sandwich, which she said was delicious. We also enjoyed bread, though serving it warm would have been nice. The food was amazing! My pasta was cooked to perfection with a lovely hint of spiciness. Rachelle, (not sure if that's her name though sorry) our server, was exceptional, frequently checking if we needed anything. My mother-in-law and I had a fantastic experience, impressed by the service, ambiance, cleanliness (especially the bathroom, a big plus for me!). I'm so glad she took me there. I'll definitely return with my husband next time. I highly recommend this place - 1000%!

Yelp
What a nice little place! Nestled right on Reed's Lake in beautiful East Grand Rapids, Rose's features a lengthy menu, amazing food and fancy drinks. We enjoyed pizza and the root chips and dip. All were fantastic. As far as service, everyone was all over it! Drinks were constantly being topped off, we were checked in on and treated respectfully. Overall really enjoyable!

Yelp
Food: the roses burger was best. I believe it is the best burger I ever had. Service: Mike the bartender is one of the reasons we come here. Just excellent. Ambiance: a very welcoming atmosphere. Windows facing Reeds Lake.

Lauren K.

Yelp
Service was awesome! Cocktails were delicious. Food was great. I asked for a side of aioli and i swear it magically appeared. Awesome!

Lucy N.

Yelp
Rose's offers an amazing view of the lake that's worth the visit alone. The atmosphere is enhanced by the great and kind service we received throughout our meal. As for the food, it was decent but not particularly standout. We tried the steak, pesto pasta salad, and burger. While the steak wasn't something we'd order again, the other items were fine. I'd definitely come back for appetizers and to soak in the beautiful lake view--it's the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Melissa K.

Yelp
We were in from out of town and in the Cornerstone University gym all day to support our son and his wrestling team. My husband found this gem on a Google search and I'm happy he did! We were seated right away and Kay was a wonderful server. The signature appetizer did not disappoint! We were looking at the menu when deciding and I asked about the Rose's chips (usually if the name of the restaurant is in the name, it's a staple) the table patron next to us chimed in and recommended we get it. I loved the friendliness of staff and patrons alike. I had the mussels appetizer as my meal and my husband had the walleye (also recommended by friendly patron) both were good! There was a seasoning in my broth I couldn't place...almost cinnamon almost cumin, maybe both! The main reason my husband chose this location was the crème brûlée. It is my favorite and theirs was perfection! I should have asked for the fruit on the side. Just my preference! The popcorn with the bill was a cute touch and Kay told us the history behind the establishment and the popcorn.

Yelp
The wait time was quite long for the patio/deck area. The hostess said it would take about 60 mins wait, but we ended up waiting about 90 mins. The ambience was pretty, but it wasn't worth our wait time. The food had both high & low notes. We ordered PEI Mussels (pretty delicious & good value), Root Chips (nothing notable, just typical root chips), House Bread (wish this was served on the house like other restaurants), Cream of Mushroom Soup & Chilled Gazpacho Soup (both being super tasty), Potato crusted Walleye (so-so), Rose's Margherita, Kid's Mac & Cheese (delicious), & Kid's Grilled Mahi Mahi (overcooked & dry). The service was spectacular!!! Overall, I would go back again but I wouldn't wait more than 30 mins to get seated.

Yelp
Stopped n on a Thursday evening during g a very cold January week and had no wait . We chose to sit out on the heated patio for the view and it was toasty warm , almost too warm under the ceiling heaters . Our server was named Aimee and she was a gem . We had cocktails , an Upper Hand beer for me and the special cosmo for my wife . She loved it ! We chose the special appetizer which was calamari. A different presentation with roasted garlic and olives . Unique and tasty as well as great vampire repellant . We split the special pizza for our main . Very crispy thin crust arugula , bacon ,soppresata, garlic and a light sauce topped with olive oil after baking . Again very unique and tasty . A very pleasant winter dining experience!

Yelp
Pretty view of the lake from inside. The appetizers are delicious and there is an extensive wine menu. I generally think the snacks here are better than the entrees - I had a salmon that was nice but nothing special. Lots of classic dessert options - the carrot cake was yummy, though the tiramisu was overly soaked and therefore a bit mushy. The service here is absolutely lovely. I've always had a terrific experience and been given guidance on what to order to satisfy whatever craving I'm facing down. This is a nice spot to bring your family or for a special occasion!

Anthony B.

Yelp
Ordered takeout. A burger. Came wellllllll done with no condiments. Literally a dry burger. Never asked if I wanted condiments when ordering. No napkins in the bag. The fries were 10/10 but again no ketchup?????? Like this should have some aioli or something on it for 35 dollars. Presentation and looks tasty but was near inedible it was so dry and had zero flavor. I couldn't have squeezed 1 drop of moisture out of this burger patty.

Sandra T.

Yelp
We were looking for a nice lunch spot on our way to an appointment and found Rose's - lucky us!! All of the staff were warm and attentive, refilling water regularly and helping each other as well. Being right on the water, the views from the three season patio were beautiful, especially with the fall colors starting to come out. Our sandwiches were perfect and the root vegetable chips were so good! We really enjoyed our lunch. The little cup of caramel corn with our check was a nice touch too!

Bri K.

Yelp
Rose's personally doesn't do anything for me. The menu lacks the 'eat me' calling, and I think a lot of it relates back to the prices. $16 for a hamburger? $1.50 to add cheese? $2 to update to fries for a $20 burger? The food tastes fine, but it's not $20 average dish price wow-worthy IMO. Service has always been good when there, and place is cute and has a nice Reeds Lake view. Parking can be a big issue since it has a very small lot and the place is popular. Again, the food is fine - it's just not going to be my go-to spot.

Susan E.

Yelp
Family was picking up family at GrandRapids airport. Read reviews and was inspired to try it; so glad I did. The restaurant is not on the main streets and a bit hidden, don't give up! The food is simply amazing and the ambiance calm with great views. Finding food for my momma can be challenging and she found the chicken salad and sorbet perfect. Rueben and burgers both really good. The service was timely and pleasant.

Crystal S.

Yelp
This is a nice place to go in the summer and have some appetizers and drinks on the deck. Other than that, the decor inside reminded me of a retirement community and the food is just ok. I will say the service was good as we had a large party and they were able to get us in fairly quickly and the server kept up with everything we needed.

Laurel S.

Yelp
Visited Rose's for the first time with a group. We sat on the patio overlooking the water. The roof tarp was being replaced at the time so there were some tools left out that could alter the ambiance. We started with a burrata cheese bruschetta and bread with dipping oil. Both were good. The bread is worth the price at $3. The bruschetta had large chunks of garlic, which I love but maybe avoid if you don't like garlic. For entrees-- Portuguese style whitefish- the person that ordered this entree liked the sauce that came with the fish. They did wish there was something to dip in the sauce- should've ordered another loaf of bread with this. Even good the next day as leftovers since they give 2 fillets of fish. Seafood paella/ flavorful rice with mini shrimp and bay scallops mixed in. The mussels surrounding were cooked perfectly. I'd order this multiple times. Angel hair- the person that ordered this liked everything, but the chicken. They thought it was bland. Burger special- can't remember the toppings but it had a horseradish sauce on it. The person liked the burger a lot- if you are ever on the east side of the state, it reminded them of Redcoat Tavern in Royal Oak. The pasta salad was just OK, nothing special. Maybe would order a different side next time. The check comes out with individual servings of caramel corn which was a sweet treat to finish the meal.

Yelp
Amazing Lake Views and Scrumptious Food for all ages Rose's on Reeds Lake in East Grand Rapids is tastefully decorated for the holiday season. The staff is friendly, helpful and attentive. Food choices for the entire family - young and old. A holiday dinner with our son and his six year old daughter. Booths, tables, and a festive porch area - all with amazing picturesque views of the lake. Hubby and a juice burger - cooked just the way he likes them medium rare. Son had the grilled pork tenderlion. I had the turkey cranberry sandwich. Granddaughter had chicken tenders. Staff apologized for a delay in her lunch and brought her bread. Will visit again.

Mikey M.

Yelp
To start off, the service was absolutely phenomenal The food was fresh and the patio seating on a nice day was perfect. Highly recommended

Michelle H.

Yelp
Always a good meal. Love sitting outside on deck! Been coming here for years never disappoints!

Fish C.

Yelp
From the ambience to the friendly staff, the experience was excellent. As we walked in we were greeted by Brooklyn, who not only greeted us with a good evening and a smile, but let us know that there were a couple seats at the bar available if we didn't want to wait longer. We decided to sit at their bar and have dinner and would highly recommend the chicken Parmesan. Overall, a really good time to be had. Wonderful views by the way.

Zachary V.

Yelp
The potato crusted walleye was delicious! The lobster ravioli was meh. The shrimp ceviche and creme brûlée were very good. If you order a Manhattan, be sure and specify 'straight up' or you're getting a glass full of ice with your cocktail poured over. Also, what's with the sports bar level maraschino cherries? You'd think Luxardo cherries would be served in a $16 cocktail.

Katy C.

Yelp
Rose's is an East Grand Rapids institution. Located on Reeds Lake, it's a nice spot to go and enjoy the views from the covered and heated patio. Nate and I were in the area and decided to get lunch at Rose's recently. The restaurant is part of the Gilmore Collection, so you'll probably know a bit of what to expect food-wise if you've been to their other locations. The menu isn't exactly the same as the other locations, but they have similar items. The patio is my favorite seating area, as the main dining room feels really stuffy to me. The patio is airy and bright with big windows. We were seated right under a heater, which was nice for the chilly winter day. For lunch, we decided to split a feature pizza that had chicken, gorgonzola, banana peppers, and roasted garlic. We also got the peasant salad, which is their take on a Greek salad with tomatoes, feta, kalamata olives, roasted red peppers, artichokes, red onions, and red wine vinaigrette. The salad was definitely my favorite part of the meal. I'd order this as my main next time - I loved the punchy dressing and ample toppings. The small size was generous for $8! The pizza was tasty - I liked that the chicken tasted fresh, and I think I want gorgonzola on all my pizzas from now on. The crust was thin and nicely cooked. There is a small parking lot available for Rose's, as well as street parking nearby. We got lucky with the last spot in the lot, but be aware it's a bit tight. Rose's is the type of place you might take your parents or grandparents. I wouldn't say the food is anything super innovative, but the experience was good and I enjoyed the food.

Jack K.

Yelp
Rose's has it all...I've been coming here for decades and it's never let me down. From the setting that looks out over Reeds Lake, the comfortable and relaxing ambience, the menu with just about something for everyone, and the "bend over backward" service from the wait staff, Rose's gas always been a great spot to dine and meet with special friends and loved ones. Oh, and the food had always been delicious too! The only down side in my opinion has been the occasional lack of available parking...although the longer walks also provide opportunity for getting in some necessary steps while taking in the natural beauty along the lakeshore. If you have never been to Rose's and are looking for a special place to meet and eat in the Grand Rapids area, this just might very well be and become a lial favorite of yours as well.

Laura G.

Yelp
We went for lunch- on the weekend- place was packed. There had been a graduation, so that explained the crowd. We were seated immediately - got our drinks in a timely manner. The staff were friendly and hustling, working the crowd. There was a very long wait once we ordered our lunch. Everyone was happy with their food- (4 in our group). However my Ruben- was so over heated the corned beef was dried out, as were the sweet potato fries. Because it was soooo busy - I didn't complain to the server. Not her fault. We will most likely come back to Roses - it is a landmark in the area of Grand Rapids. I was visiting from NJ.

Amanda V.

Yelp
We went to Rose's to celebrate my grandparent's anniversary. We had a fairly large group and they were very accommodating. Food was very good. The root chip appetizer was fantastic. Prices were very reasonable. Tim, our waiter was wonderful. He was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Ambience was very nice, it had a nice intimate feel. They have a large deck right on Reeds Lake. It would be nice to come back in the summer and enjoy the outside seating.

Bailey K.

Yelp
We love absolutely everything about Rose's. The location and being on the water just adds to whole experience. We've come here many times and have always been happy with everything we have ordered, but one of our favorite things are the root chips. The service is always great, but the last time we were there, Logan did a phenomenal job. She was so attentive, gave some great suggestions, talked highly of the restaurant, and just was a warm and bubbly presence that really stood out. We always love getting the little bit of caramel corn with our bill as well. We cannot recommend this place enough!

Ali D.

Yelp
Cutest restaurant! The best vibes by the water and service was amazing. A little underwhelmed by the food I have to say which was for sure a bummer. Not a ton of flavor but a very fun evening nonetheless!

Chria M.

Yelp
Roses has always been a go to when in GR. It sits on a beautiful lake with a wonderful atmosphere. Once inside you will be greeted and seated. The appetizers are filling and delicious. The main courses are many and before I went plant based i really enjoyed the burgers. Now its the salmon or the walleye both excellenat. Did i mention the drinks and the bar tenders, non better. So when you want to get away but stay in the city do yourself a solid and piny up to the bar for an enjoyable experience.

Sujoy S.

Yelp
This place has been on our radar for quite some time and we made it last Sunday at last! The location is one of the best in GR and the fall colors all around makes it even prettier. We sat outside on the waterfront as it was a beautiful sunny day and the food was just as good! Ask for the freshly baked bread to start with and you won't be disappointed. I chose the Rose's Burger with bacon and swiss cheese and it was made to perfection... the well done yet juicy meat coupled with pickles and pasta salad made it a wholesome dish. My wife chose the potato crusted walleye risotto and that was quite spot on as well. We finished our lunch off with the tiramisu and quite honestly it was one of the tastiest we ever had. Our server Kimberly was very attentive and the food came out without much delay. Overall we loved everything about this place and will love to come back sooner than later!

Meryl K.

Yelp
Excellent service. I wished I had asked my server's name last night to give him a shoutout here because he was so kind. It's also a beautiful restaurant. I sat on the heated, enclosed patio overlooking the water and it was so serene. Ordered the shrimp scampi and it was yummy; shrimps were large and well cooked. My only complaint was the sauce was a bit too brothy/watery but my server brought me bread to mop it up. Great place for a date.

Samrana B.

Yelp
Limited parking but overall really nice workers and great atmosphere. We started off at the bar with their Roses lemonade it's so refreshing and good made with Tito's. They have gluten free crust for their pizza and told them it was an allergy which they took precautions with. The pizza was great!! I love the pepperoni and the pineapple was a nice touch. My partner got the pasta special which was good but for him the portion was too small. This place gets packed so make reservations or walk in and know that there will be a wait which you can spend at the bar.

Megan J.

Yelp
I always have a lovely experience here. Servers are friendly without being overbearing, hosts are welcoming, and the food never disappoints. Definitely try the Farro Salad with the blackened crab cake, it's fabulous! Also try the Cranberry Turkey Sandwich. It's worth getting it with the house root chips AND pesto pasta salad. I also love that it's perched right at the edge of Reed's Lake, so there's a view of the water and the wildlife. It's enjoyable any time of year. In the summer, you can sit out on the deck and enjoy watching the ducks and turtles swimming by. Even on a gloomy spring or fall day, you can sit on the cozy heated porch near the crackling fireplace and look out at the choppy waves and misty horizon. Rose's is a pretty special place to me and always makes my day.

Jim W.

Yelp
Rose's is always a great choice on nice weather days in Grand Rapids. The lake views are unbeatable. The food has a nice variety and isn't overpriced. Today I played it simple and went with the burger and a beer...no complaints at all. They don't take reservations, but we showed up around 1130pm and there were plenty of great seats outside. By 12-12:15 the outdoor patio was basically full, so plan accordingly.

Michael S.

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch on our way back to Chicago. The Reuben sandwich is absolutely phenomenal. The bread is fresh, the thousand island dressing is made in house. The corned beef was lean. Also, had a cup of chicken rosemary soup which was exceptional. Lastly, if you are lucky enough to have Julie as your server, you hit the jackpot.

Joseph H.

Yelp
SERVICE: 5 FOOD QUALITY: 5 DRINK QUALITY: 5 ORDER TIME: 5 AESTHETICS: 5 NOISE LEVEL: 5 MENU SELECTION: 5 OVERALL EXPERIENCE: 5 What a wonderful treat right on the water. Pretty large restaurant on Reeds lake with a first come first serve policy. We were able to get a table with a lake view within minutes on Memorial Day weekend. We ordered roses chips which were absolutely amazing. The sauces are to die for. My favorite was the warm cheese fondue it came with. For my entree I ordered the seared tuna and it was cooked to perfection. The edamame salad with onions and cashews was to die for. I ordered a French rosé wine which went perfect with the fish. They have a wonderful selection of wines if you like wine as well. The outside of the building doesn't look like anything special but when you step inside it has this feel of a San Fransisco wharf restaurant with the decor and the pier of boats on the lake. If you want a great meal with a great view and superb service then you want to make a trip to roses.

B S.

Yelp
Fabulous all the way around! Sat at the bar for lunch. Mike the bartender provided top notch service! I had a Peasant salad with Chicken added. Delicious. I ordered the small and it was filling and tasty! The restaurant was packed but not loud. Delightful place. Food, Service and ambiance were wonderful! Wonderful view of the lake too!

Drew S.

Yelp
Whole family lives the food, ambiance and service! Nothing beats a table outside in the summer on the lake.

Sue T.

Yelp
We had lunch at Rose's today. Our server was Sydney and she did a great job and was very responsive. Food was great and prompt. We sat outside on the deck on a perfect Michigan day We will be back.

Deanna D.

Yelp
Went here yesterday service and food was excellent. Restaurant is adorable inside and the view of the lake is really pretty. The potato chips they make are really good especially their homemade goat cheese sauce. I really liked their pizza too. My daughter loved their children salmon meal.

Jillian B.

Yelp
Best bartenders, best drinks, best view, wonderful food, and wonderful servers. Roses is an institution and is one of the best restaurants in Grand Rapids.

Jen H.

Yelp
Always a bustling spot in EGR, with delicious and creative food. The outdoor seating in the summer is fantastic. Great for lunch or dinner. Or happy hour!

Sarah O.

Yelp
Can I give this place more than 5 stars? TIM IS MAYBE THE BEST WAITER EVER!!! I was visiting family in Grand Rapids from Brooklyn, NY, and a stranger recommended Rose's to me. I am so glad I went it! The food was fresh & amazing (I loved the salmon), but Tim really made the night. Thank you Tim & Rose's for making our family reunion extra special. We will be back!!

Jill R.

Yelp
Always love to sit by the lake! Great food, service, and ambience makes for an excellent venue

Zoraida V.

Yelp
Magical in the fall. Ask to seat by the outside deck and you won't regret it! Pizzas are great. Kitchen staff is slow but it is worth the wait! Staff was friendly.

Kaylan A.

Yelp
This place gets a lot of hype and honestly I think it's because of the lovely setting. If I weren't so salty about the terrible food and service, I'd probably give it two stars for location. My partner and I sat for nearly 20 mins before being acknowledged/given water. I ordered the featured bbq bacon corn pizza. It arrived with no bbq or bacon. I also had the blueberry lemon soda. It was soda water with a few smashed blueberries. It was not anything like advertised. My partner ordered the featured burger. It arrived with no fries. We had to ask twice and they finally brought out a tiny portion. He ordered a beer when his food was dropped and it didn't arrive until the check came. Our server wasn't rude, she was just unavailable and not helpful. It was such a bummer to spend almost 80 bucks on unappetizing food and extremely poor service. It was the worst restaurant experience I've had in a long time, if not ever.

Yelp
Went here on Mothers Day. They don't do reservations so we lined up at 10:40am for their 11an open. It was busy but they were able to seat our party of 14. The service was great, efficient and kind. We sat outside and had a beautiful view of the water. I ordered the breakfast pizza, it had chorizo, onions, potatoes and cheese and a lychee mimosa. It was delicious!

Yelp
The food and ambience at Rose's is just wonderful. It was the perfect place to stop after a walk around the lake. We've also been there for dinner and food has been delicious. I would definitely recommend it for a nice evening out. It's a perfect place to take out of town guests.

Yelp
The food is meh, the drinks are "ok" but I will say the back deck on the water is super cool! If they do some updates to the decor and menu it would be a really cool place!

Yelp
In my opinion, Rose's is a solid three stars. Ambiance is great if you can sit outside with a lake view, but the decor kind of feels like a visit to your grandmothers house or a Denny's if you sit inside. The appetizers are fantastic, but I've never liked an entree I've ordered here, and neither have any of my friends. Service is hit or miss, but has been mostly miss in my experience as well. I think this is a great stop for some apps and a drink or two if you can grab an outside table. Otherwise, I'd probably skip and drive a few minutes to much better options in the neighborhood.
