If you're a health nut or love all things vegan, organic, non-GMO, and low fat, this place is for you! This store has pretty much everything that you can think of. They have a large produce and vegetables section at the right side of the store that's all locally grown stuff. Next to that is a small fridge dedicated to different types of cheese.
For alcohol, they have racks of wine and a fair selection of local and unique beers. You're not gonna find Bud Light or Miller Light here. There's also a snack section with healthy gluten free, non-GMO made snack bars, cookies, and chips. For me, I also really liked that they have an Asian section with brown rice, seafood, and soup herbs. Of course, as a health store, their items are more expensive. However, most prices seemed reasonable and definitely cheap than Whole Foods on some items.
They also have 20% off days (on grocery items and beer, but not applicable at the cafe) at least once a week and the day that it's on changes every week. You can check this on their website, which also shows the specials that are being served in the deli that day that always includes a meat, vegetarian, and vegan option that rotates every day. For this month, that's included stuff like vegetable pho, Thai fish cakes, and chicken curry which all sound delicious.
Their deli is actually pretty amazing and they're open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It's located at the left side of the building and it's set up like a cafe with a few small tables and local art decorating the walls. They have some set food that you can order cafeteria style and also a selection of sandwiches of salads.
My friend and I decided to order items off their daily special menu. I got the Spicy Black Bean and Sweet potato with avocado grain bowl and my friend ordered the Thai Coconut Shrimp with Salad topped with Greek Dressing. Both dishes came out looking like pieces of art so they did a great job with presentation. Their avocado and sweet potato were very fresh and flavorful. I'm by no means a vegan, but I liked their grain bowl a lot, which the staff and a regular customer told me is their best one. My friend liked her Thai Coconut Shrimp as well. She said it wasn't as good as if it was from a Thai restaurant, but they did a good job for a deli that makes a wide variety of food. For those in a hurry, they have a small Grab N Go fridge for some quick snacks.
Overall, I like this store because it helps support the locals, their awesome cafe, and their 20% off discount days. I'll definitely be back here again when I have a salad craving or when I feel fat and want to eat healthy.
