"Students at the AUC will have a new brunch and coffee option to check out when Black-owned Rosie’s Coffee Cafe opens its fourth location in the newly revitalized Roosevelt Hall. The hall just got a historical marker. Can your neighborhood pancake spot boast that?" - jacinta howard, juli horsford

Best Restaurants Near the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"The second location of soul food restaurant Rosie’s Cafe (the original is located on Sylvan Road) resides just south of Mercedes-Benz stadium. The all-day cafe serves hearty breakfast plates like a loaded chicken biscuit and fish and grits made with lightly battered perch filets atop creamy buttered grits. Rosie’s also offers salads and sandwiches. In the evenings, the restaurant’s coffee bar transforms into a whiskey and cocktail bar. Breakfast on weekdays or non-game days is highly recommended. Sunday brunch is super busy, so plan accordingly. Valet available." - Beth McKibben

10 Black-Owned Atlanta Bars and Restaurants to Check Out Now | Eater

"Tucked in right next to Mercedes-Benz Stadium, this cheerful little cafe has the best of both worlds: locally brewed coffee and avocado toast, yes, but also soulful and hearty breakfast food and a full bar and specialty cocktail menu. The soul doesn’t stop with the shrimp and grits served up by the kitchen, either: Rosie’s, named after the co-owner’s late mother, donates a portion of its proceeds to the Lung Cancer Foundation of America in her honor at the end of each year." - Vox Creative

Rosie’s Café has a refreshing and inviting atmosphere. Nayah took my order and was very welcoming with a great personality, which made the visit feel special. The bacon was flavorful and cooked well, and the croissant was generously sized and enjoyable. However, the food overall did not match the quality of the service. The specialty waffle had a sponge-like texture. The eggs had an unusual taste, as if something was added that was not seasoning. The grits were overly saturated with butter, which was concerning for my health. Rosie’s Café has great potential because of its staff and atmosphere. I will try the Atlanta location in hopes that the food quality is better.

My sister and I enjoyed Rosie's. I didn't even know they had this location. Breakfast was great, our food came out fast and our waitress was friendly. Will definitely come back whenever I'm in the area again.

The server Naya (sorry for the spelling) was the ONLY bright spot in our visit today 05OCT25. When my girlfriend and i arrived this morning we were greeted by the wonderful server and she told us that there was a wait for the food coming out die to there being only two cooks available. Ok no problem. We agreed to wait and ordered specialty coffee. Unfortunately the whole vibe was ruined by a server Megan who apparently was at odds with every other person working there (especially the cooks). We could clearly hear her yelling at the cooks to the point that the other servers had to close the doors to the kitchen due to megan's unprofessional behavior. The two servers tried to be professional and let Megan know she couldn't just be loud like that but it did no good. She proceeded to slam dishes and silverware and give off a nasty attitude. I wanted to leave but we had already ordered our food. I ordered two of the breakfast burritos, one chicken one sausage. The chicken was extremely salty i couldn't even eat it. I've been to this location numerous of times and honestly this is my first bad experience there. Once again, if it weren't for Naya who was doing multiple jobs just to make sure the place could function properly i would've left 1 star. Clearly she's the type that could purposely run that place and make everyone's experience there pleasant.

Recently moved here and we were happy to find a breakfast place that wasn’t a chain restaurant. However, we were left disappointed by Rosie’s. The place is very cute and has great potential. But as soon as you walk in door, the lack of attentiveness sets the mood. No one acknowledges you and you have to reach out to someone for any help on whether this a seat yourself place or is someone going to seat us? We’ve given this place 2 chances. The first time we sat and got our food. It was so bland and really just nothing exciting. Some eggs and some potatoes with some reheated frozen peppers. The second time, we waited for close to 30 mins for a table to be cleaned for us to sit, (with there being many empty tables in sight) and the “hostess?” never came back to tell us if it was ready or not. The same employee was yelling at the kitchen staff as well. Very unprofessional and awkward. Another party of 6 and our party of 6 both walked out to find food elsewhere. Someone else walked in, saw us all standing around and left before she even put in her party’s name. Please hire better staff and people will gladly come and eat here.. there were many patrons eager to spend money here but couldn’t even get welcomed into the restaurant.

Have been here several times, and will continue coming back for the food. The food is always very good. Five stars for the kitchen work. After ordering, it usually comes out pretty quickly. While all of the staff is always friendly and kind, they are clearly a bit disorganized and lack any communication or leadership. After being seated, on at least two visits we have waited near 10 minutes to be greeted by our server and put a drink order in. This isn’t a one off occurrence but a regular theme. This comes from a lack of management and training. Lastly, an automatic gratuity of 20% is absurd. If there were other good breakfast options in Carrollton, I’d avoid this establishment for that reason alone. Gratuity should be earned, not mandated.

Google
Atmosphere was great! Food wad delicious. The staff was very friendly and attentive; constantly checking on us. Our waitress was Katie and she was simply awesome; this was our 1st time here and she explained and helped us a lot! Definitely recommend and will be coming again!

Google
My waitress although nice checked on me when I got the food and when she bought the bill. In addition my chicken was bloody and she still had me pay $15dollars for a waffle. I will never be back. On another note the waffle was good and close to cake as far as the taste oh and I only drank water. I’m so disappointed. And I paid five dollars just to sit and eat undercooked chicken? You should have offered my food for free considering I couldn’t eat the most important part. Shame on you guys

Google
Our server was super kind, but we waited for an hour for our food. They said that the kitchen was trying to get a party’s food out first, which we understand. After that party got their food we waited and then saw that same table get bussed. The kitchen even closed the barn door which made it seem like they were more worried about people seeing them then actually cooking food. We were one of 3 tables that was stuck in this situation and there were only 4 tables in the restaurant. We ended up leaving before we got our food, so cannot rate how it was. No hate whatsoever to the servers or front of house staff, they were lovely. But the kitchen definitely needs some work or more people who know how to cook or how to cook in a restaurant…

Yelp
First off, I want to say the food is excellent. I have mostly done breakfast here. The coffee is out of this world. The wait staff is very friendly. Why only 4 stars then? These are the main reasons. 1. You don't accept over the phone orders. I get it, you don't want people calling in then not getting their food. However, that is a small risk to the bigger risk of people just going somewhere that will take an over the phone to go order (Waffle house, Jerry's diner, Martins, etc...) 2. You offer online ordering and paying, but your location is NEVER on the website. I have mentioned it several times and it never seems to get fixed. This combined with #1 means I have to go in, order to go, and then wait. Again, there are quicker options. 3. Automatic 20% gratuity on all Dine in Orders regardless of party size??? Really? You have lost the concept of a gratuity. If it is mandatory, it should be called a fee or a tax or something, cause it isn't a gratuity. I think if you fixed some of these things, this place would rock out. BTW, tried the salmon patty this morning and it is fantastic.

Yelp
The service was excellent and the ambiance was casual and relaxed. I had the chicken and waffles, the only thing I would say is that I would prefer a chicken breast instead of wings.

Shuntaa R.

Yelp
Food is nasty and under cooked or over cooked!!! Priced wayyyyy tooooo high for the bs they pushing out that kitchen. I recommend Waffle House instead of here!!! Thank me later I ordered break bowl with potatoes and sausage... terrible bland food

Toni Lightner L.

Yelp
Very disappointed. My friend and I visited on a Thursday @9:39 ,the only 2 customers seated in the restaurant. 2 Servers working and 2 Gentleman seated with workers just sitting there talking. We ordered our drinks server went back sat down with Gentleman and 10 minutes later came back . Took our order but not really knowledgeable about the menu and substitutions. Food about 15 minutes later was mediocre Scrambled Eggs ok Salmon Croquettes cooked in old grease, not freshly made. Server never followed up for refills or to see if food was ok. Greatly disappointed. If the 20% gratuity were not included this is one time I WOULD NOT have tipped. Service Poor, Food Mediocre. If the service were good and food mediocre or vice versa I wouldn't have even left a rating but failed on both.

Denise H.

Yelp
Absolutely agree with all of these other reviews. Arrived on a Sunday at 2:15 - apparently they now close at 3:00 on Sat & Sun. We were seated, but overheard "manager" tell rest of staff that we were to be the last ones seated. Patrons arriving 5 min later were turned away. Food was good, but served with plastic utensils - even though they clearly had regular utensils available. It is clearly noted throughout the Cafe that a "20% automatic gratuity will be added to all dine in orders" - OK, so at least give me real utensils to eat my Shrimp & Grits! Our server, Megan, did a great job, despite the constant haranguing by the manager who was loudly giving Close-down orders to all of the staff. We felt very rushed and clearly "not welcome".

Jamie P.

Yelp
The first time we came here it was great, and we do not mind the automatic gratuity charge; I've waited tables in my lifetime. We are typically high tippers and tip well over 20%. Last time we came here the service was not great. We came again today, but I'm not sure we will be back. Once again the service was terrible. I do not mind waiting for good food, but my order was simple and put in wrong. Again the service was SLOW and I feel that an automatic built in gratuity is not incentive to provide good service; it's an incentive for mediocre service and the good isn't worth that.

Yelp
Mix bag here. The ambiance is amazing. Very warm, very cute, and so inviting. Sara was a cute little bundle of joy!! The food: The pancake platter. Pancakes, need more baking soda, to be fluffier. Potatoes, probably should have gotten the grits. Eggs are slightly overcooked, sausage burnt. Darn! Really wanted to like this place. So disappointed!!! I think my experience is not the norm, as I look at other plates and other diners. I hate wasting money!!!!!!!! Your Pal, Dawn Always an honest review

Van S.

Yelp
Service was extremely slow. It was lunch and only two or three customers were in the restaurant. Food was fair but nothing that makes you want to return.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Really cute place inside and has so much potential. I was hopeful for good breakfast place during spring break but a big NO. Now I know why 20 percent gratuity is included. They know they can give any kind of service and get 20 percent. The servers were more worried about turning on tvs and talking about schedules then meeting customers needs. So unprofessional....because of that turn off, the food was not good.
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
The staff was perfectly friendly and timely. My issue was the food. Overall taste and freshness I would rate a 1 star. The potatoes were extremely dry, the onions and peppers soggy and cold. My blueberry pancakes only had 4-5 blueberries in them. The eggs were super salty and the coffee had an odd taste, almost stale like with a hint of cleaning chemicals. This was my first time here and definitely my last.

Yelp
Based on other reviews, I really wanted to like this place, but it definitely fell short for me. We stopped in at 8am on a Sunday morning, zero cars in the parking lot. I questioned if they were even open. Walking inside, we were immediately greeted and able to pick our own seat, as no one else was in the restaurant. The original table we chose was really sticky, so we selected another. There was some syrup on the floor, but, other than those things, the place seemed really clean! (I did stop in the restroom and it was also clean/smelled nice. I dont remember seeing a changing table though.) I understand being environmentally friendly/it's hip to have a QR code, but my mom is old as the hills and would have preferred an old fashioned, paper menu. She didn't being her phone inside either, so we had to share mine. We ordered 2 breakfast platters-- mine came with French toast, meat of your choice (I chose bacon), eggs, and grits or potatoes (I got the potatoes.) This place has booster seats and high chairs... but no children's menu? At least I didn't see one online. We ordered my daughter a fried chicken breast, which she seemed to enjoy. Not gonna lie, my food was pretty lack luster. The eggs were decent, but cold on top-- which really surprised me because there we were the only people there. The French toast was also just warm and, surprisingly, really dense. I ended up not even eating the crusts and cutting out the middle. The bacon was good, but how can you mess up bacon? The potatoes definitely needed more seasoning. They were really plain. I did enjoy the bits of pepper that were chopped up with them, but I had to throw a bunch of salt, pepper, and ketchup on everything. My mom got the same thing as me, minus the French toast. The only redeeming factor for me was the coffee and I just drank it black. My mom got a hot, black tea, which she enjoyed. We spent $40 on just okay food-- I almost forgot to mention that they automatically charge you 20% gratuity for dine in and 18% on takeout! I think that's absolutely ridiculous, as their pricing is already on the higher side-- it was $14.99 for my meal and I could get more food at IHOP for that. 2 stars for the food and 1 extra star for being pretty clean and polite/friendly staff. Since I have family in the area, I might consider giving it another try, maybe they just had a bad day. This restaurant reminded me a lot of Thumbs Up in Douglasville, but I would honestly choose driving all the way there before going to Rosie's again. Sorry ‍

Grant S.

Yelp
I've been here at least 8 times. I wanted to take my wife and child here since she had never tried it. Today was a complete fail. Our server Kylie was friendly but bad at her job. Forgot everything at least once. Got our order wrong. I sent my food back because my eggs were overcooked and my hash was undercooked. IT CAME BACK THE SAME WAY!! I gave up. I sent it back paid and left. I feel like the server abused the fact that gratuity was included. It wasn't busy. We were her only table and had to remind her about every item we ordered.

Karen G.

Yelp
Had high hopes but, NO. Very short-staffed when we arrived. More employees began to appear but the service speed didn't change. Server was very nice but not very knowledgeable. Asked for water. Never got it. Couldn't tell me the difference between a latte and cappuccino. Said she didn't drink coffee. At a breakfast place she still should've been an expert. Our plates finally arrived. Still no drinks. Or silverware. She finally brought little packs of plastic forks because they were out??? Our food was ok. About Waffle House quality. My biscuit wasn't even warm. The butter I had to ask for remained so hard it wouldn't spread. Was never offered jelly but after all the waiting for everything else, I let it go. But most people like syrup with pancakes, right? Guess what. Had to ask for that too, as well as more napkins because the little tissue paper ones in the packet weren't getting the job done. Had to wait again for the check. Finally got up and went on toward the door and cash register and there was our server at the register! So all this for two $25 breakfasts, to which a 20% gratuity had already been added. We couldn't do what most paying diners should be able to do, which is to reflect the service we'd been given by the amount of the tip we leave. Big disappointment. Two people had recommended this place.

Larry T G.

Yelp
Let's get this straight, Rosie's decor was impressive. From the outside and the surrounding areas the restaurant looked unappealing. However once you step inside the ambience changes your opinion and you are eager to eat. However the staff is what makes the visit bad. The host and the hostess weren't the problem they were nice and respectful, but the wait for the food along with the understaffed and undirected staff made the place feel like it was run by college students. There was a long wait for food, which affected every table. The food was ok, no wow factor but i see myself going back and hopefully the wait won't be as long.

Chris C.

Yelp
Sat there for 20 minutes without anyone coming to help, ignored by multiple servers so we left, most of the "workers" were in the back talking to eachother the entire time. Garbage.
google avatar

Mika D.

Yelp
First thing- 20% auto gratuity is insane for what we received, coffee was fast but unimpressed with it, our food was absolutely not worth the price. Burnt food for my partner and he paid $11 for a breakfast sandwich that was tiny... my food was okay just sorta bland. They need to step up the food game a lot if they're going to add an auto 20% on to the bill for service.

Jill C.

Yelp
Overpriced and automatic 20% gratuity added to bill if you dine in! Services was slow too! Would not recommend!
google avatar

Noelle S.

Yelp
I was craving a bagel and found Rosie's. This little place is intimate and adorably decorated, the staff was very helpful and kind, and their menu offers a lot of variety at a fair price. I ordered the salmon patty bagel with scrambled eggs and the homestyle potatoes that were described to include onions and peppers. The salmon patty bagel was pretty good! Bagel wasn't toasted but I usually lik mine lightly toasted (not hard.) I was sorely disappointed by the potatoes and I was really excited for them. They were quite overdone, had literally no flavor and I saw one almost microscopic cube of green pepper in the bowl. I added seasoning when I got home. I'd give them another chance, they had a lot of items I would've liked to try.

Chip A.

Yelp
Awesome place to eat. The wait staff is wonderful. We showed up at 11 AM and I was able to eat breakfast and my wife had a shrimp basket. Really has a small town feel but serves high end food and very fresh seafood. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

V P.

Yelp
We had the best breakfast and I highly recommend! The service was great too. We had the French toast, shrimp and grits, and chicken sausage. All of it was amazing & we will definitely be back
google avatar

Sharie H.

Yelp
This place is yummy!!! Our food was amazing and cooked perfectly. The coffee is delicious! The price is a little high for breakfast, but it was worth it. They add a 20% gratuity no matter the party size which I think is super weird, especially for carrolton, but it really just hurts their servers. We will for sure be back!
google avatar

Erik W.

Yelp
Pretty good breakfast spot food quality wise, but hard to recommend any place that's $50 for a 2 person brunch. A 20% mandatory tip for any tab, complete with lackluster service at best, isn't great either.
google avatar

Hannah C.

Yelp
Whenever I want some real brunch in Carrollton, I go to Rosie's. Cute simple interior and the food never fails. Service is great and filled with smiles to brighten the morning. Assortment of coffees and what appears to be a full bar. Clean and normally pretty slow mid morning when I pop in. Go check it out.

Sherry F.

Yelp
Food was always pretty good although somewhat overpriced. I never had service there that merited an 18% gratuity and now with a mandatory 20% gratuity, I won't be back. I wouldn't be surprised if this puts them out of business. There are other places close by with better food, better prices, better service.

Rhonda R.

Yelp
Service was slow with only a few customers there at lunch. There was barely any chicken salad on the sandwich ordered, had to refill our drinks myself and they still got the 20% gratuity that they automatically add if you dine in. Will not be back!!

Ansley S.

Yelp
Went here for the first time, they were not busy. Sat us and no one approached us again for over 15 minutes. Other tables were sat and served, when we decided to leave no one said a word and all the workers just looked at us. Several servers walked by our table multiple times noticing we had not been served even drinks and no one asked if we had been helped. We had a two year old also, in the middle of the floor so we didn't go unnoticed. The servers stood by the checkout area socializing instead of working. Will not be trying this restaurant again. Do not recommend at all.
google avatar

Andrea L.

Yelp
I order out here frequently, but I finally was able to go sit down and eat inside. The dining area is absolutely adorable! And the whole place had a very happy feel to it. The food tasted amazing, and the presentation was also gorgeous. They also have a full bar, as well as a coffee bar. This places waffles are TO DIE FOR but I decided to branch out and get something different and it still did not disappoint. Everything I tasted was delicious.

German M.

Yelp
It's over priced mediocre food, I wish I could put a sign up front where I could warn people not to waist time and money

Joel M.

Yelp
Good food, great menu, and have drinks from brewed coffee to alcohol. Wish the hours were longer but perfect for breakfast, brunch, or lunch!
google avatar

Terrie P.

Yelp
James is the best waiter ever! Make sure to ask for him! And he suggests the best food and mimosas.

Tanika W.

Yelp
Rosie's was absolutely amazing. Every time I bring my family we always have a good time. The service and food is constantly wonderful.

Mark B.

Yelp
First impressions weren't good. My friends chicken was bloody so sent back to the kitchen. It took 20 minutes but the replacement was good. My chicken waffle was served with fatty wings and I wasn't expecting wings for chicken. The bill had an auto 20% tip gratuity which was frustrating as the waitress inattentive and had to be asked to refill our drinks. The ambiance was ok but everything kind of looked fun down and not too clean.

Kimberly P.

Yelp
I had a delicious breakfast and excellent service at this cute little place. I will be back.

Reagan H.

Yelp
Went here on Valentine's day around 10 expecting men to rush in with last minute plans but we were sat immediately with amazing service! The food was perfect down to the presentation. The coffee was delicious too! The soft jazz with soft chatter made the perfect ambiance. My only complaint is with the website when i was looking at the menu, i selected the carrollton but they still didn't have some of the speciality drinks but no biggie at all! Definitely recommend and support your black businesses!

Kipp L.

Yelp
The food was delicious. The atmosphere was incredible. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Also I a sucker for a good health score and theirs is a 98!

Virginia B.

Yelp
My husband and I have been to Rosie's Cafe for breakfast and after church on Sunday and the food was great! Both times our server was Brandon and he was so helpful, respectful and made some great suggestions, as we were not familiar with the menu. I would highly recommend this place!
google avatar

Charles C.

Yelp
The food is okay.... Service is not bad, place is small and cozy. They make great coffee

David W.

Yelp
Food and coffee good. Great breakfast platter. The service is decent. However I feel the decision to automatically charge the customer a 20% gratuity is a bum deal. I like tipping well but that is the result of good effort by the server. Instead I feel we're being forced to solve their wage and employee problems by taking this choice away from the customer.
google avatar

Marnie G.

Yelp
BEST breakfast food. The French toast and grits bowls are to die for! Love having them on a lazy Saturday or Sunday morning as a little weekend treat. Pricing is fair and food quality is great.

Kourtney S.

Yelp
Came here for lunch today! I was impressed. I needed my coffee fix so I started off with ordering a french vanilla iced latte! It was way better than my normal drive thru runs at DD! I liked the cup! Super cute. I ordered the turkey burger, super delicious! Great atmosphere, friendly servers. Fast as well. I will be returning very soon! Thanks Rosie's

Kay T.

Yelp
Open 7am-4pm. Great place for a late lunch or breakfast! Delicious fried chicken salad, etc! Good coffee. Kelli provides timely & gracious service. Enjoy the environment - soft pop music. Coming regularly
google avatar

Russ G.

Yelp
Quickly becoming the go to place for breakfast in Carrollton. Not the cheapest, but the quality and quantity are excellent. Very friendly people.

Daniel R.

Yelp
This place is so slow. We waited 40 minutes to order, just to wait another 40 to get food. The waitress was awful and lied to our faces about not being attentive. She was constantly checking other people that had come in much later than us, while still not checking on us. The food was so mediocre even Waffle House is better. The portions were also for that of a small child. However chicken little was on so that was a plus.

Dennis B.

Yelp
Four of us, three seniors included, had a great meal yesterday at Rosie's in Carrollton (GA). Not only was the food outstanding, but so was the service from a most congenial and pleasant Sabrina. Included in our order was a breakfast burrito, a breakfast bowl, cobb salad, and shrimp poboy. All were prepared excellently and quite large in size. The restaurant setting was pleasant and the care the staff makes to keep everything clean and sanitized stood out. All four of us recommend Rosie's enthusiastically.
google avatar

Claudia N C.

Yelp
First time in and the whole family LOVED this place!!! Fabulous atmosphere, delicious food and coffee, super nice staff, and decent price for breakfast for three. We'll definitely be back and have already recommended this place to friends!! We ordered the French toast and eggs and bacon! I want more right now thinking about it
google avatar

Sharon N.

Yelp
This was my third visit to Rosie's Carrollton. First 2 times for breakfast & today for lunch. I especially enjoyed the cinnamon waffle at breakfast. Our waitress today was Lauren & she did a great job. We shared fried green tomatoes, but found them too mushy for our taste. The turkey burger was excellent; the cole slaw had a bit too much dressing, but the flavor was good. My husband enjoyed his lemon pepper wings & fries. We'll be back!

Yelp
I decided to check this restaurant out one day after hearing it was new in town and must I say the experience was absolutely delightful !! My sever was amazing and so sweet I can't quit remember her name but she has beautiful nails and she made sure I was well taken care of I will be telling all my friends to go check it out ! Ps it's black owned!!

Yelp
The Hot Mocha. My Mother in Law was so happy with her surprise. She was not expecting it and DoorDash delivered and after everything she has done for us a surprise and a hot Mocha equal to Starbucks was just the a small thank you I could give to her. Surprised my wife with an Iced Mocha and it was made to her liking too. Wife and Mother in Law happy in the morning, there is a safety net for any oops for me this morning.

Beth K.

Yelp
If you are going to be in the restaurant business you should hire people that want to serve. 3-4 people walking around, only 2 tables with customers and not one person offered to even get us coffee. No wonder Jerry's is packed if this is the alternative.
