Rosie's Sidekick Sandwich Shop

This is the second time my wife and I have ordered Italian sandwiches from The Weekend Crew at Rosie's and, once again, they were perfect. The first time we had them delivered via the shop's website instead of Doordash, etc., and this second time I was in the area and I ordered in the shop and took-away. The Italian sandwiches are so perfectly constructed and they traveled beautifully. The way the meats, cheeses, and vegetables are sliced is making all the difference, and the way they are laid out in the bread ensures that no less-than-delicious bites are to be had. The folks in the shop are friendly and super-attentive. Highest recommendation. Can't wait for next!

the bread was miserable, easily the worst bread I’ve ever had my life, but the sandwich ingredients were decent. the minestrone soup felt pretty overpriced for its size and really lacked in flavor.

I love Rosies but this was sad left out all the other meat on my Italian, only gave mortadella. Don’t get me wrong love mort but I also love capicola and salami 😢 only leaving the review so that ur aware Rosie’s and so that it will never happen to me again😔

I recently ordered from Rosie’s Sidekick, and while the experience started off rocky due to delivery issues (that was out of their control), the way the situation was handled turned it into a positive one. There were some hiccups with getting my order delivered, but I was able to get in touch with the manager, and both he and Frank went above and beyond to resolve the problem. Their customer service was excellent—they were understanding, proactive, and ensured my food made it to me despite the initial setbacks. When the food arrived, it was worth the wait! Their meatball sub is absolutely delicious—flavorful, hearty, and everything you’d hope for in a classic sandwich. Despite the delivery challenge, Rosie’s Sidekick made up for it with outstanding service and amazing food. I’ll definitely be giving them another try!

The Italian beef was really good, and their chips are addictive! The guy who took our order and made our food was really kind and patient. Prices are better than any chain sandwich shop. Parking might be difficult at certain times, but it's definitely worth it!

They only have 1 type of bread for their subs. I hope they add wheat or Multi grain as a way to add a bit more variety to their sandwiches. Toasting your sandwhich would be great too!( not sure they offer that) I currently Pay Less for Potbellies and get more toppings, & have more bread options, Their current bread can be tough to bite through sometimes. Service is good, turkey tasted bad last time I went, meatball is good. I'll give Rosie's a couple more visits to see how they grow this year.

I went for the classic muffuletta today after seeing a video in instagram , we have tried the original muffuletta in New Orleans and we loved it ever since we've been craving it . So I heard about that sandwich place in Schaumburg, i went there around noon , the muffuletta bread was already finished because its so good , so they offered me to make the same sandwich on italian bread , of course i drove 1 hr i am never gonna say no. I highly recommend it even on italian bread it was super delicious and it had absolutely the same taste as the original version from New Orleans, i am so happy we will be back for more , just make sure you go early to get that amazing experience and of course they have a whole bunch of delicious sandwiches, check out the menu and a little sneak peek from the muffuletta before I enjoyed it . Amazing 🤩!!!!

Amazing local sandwich shop! 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a great sandwich. I am vegan and usually can never find anything to fit my diet. The employee, Gabriel, nicely helped me build a vegan sandwich. My boyfriend had the Italian Deluxe Sandwich which he really enjoyed and said was definitely worth the price. The bread (which is vegan by the way) is homemade and the best bread I’ve ever had. Not to mention, they have real homemade Italian ice. I have tried the strawberry, mango, green apple, and pineapple and they are all amazing. And they had my favorite Mexican juice, Jumex. Overall, I had a very positive experience.

Local small business located in Logan Square neighborhood. I have been meaning to try this and finally decided to check it out. They have daily specials. On the day we ordered they had a 2 for Tuesday, which was $12.47. It includes two 6inch sandwiches. Not all sandwiches are included but there was turkey, beef and pork options. We grabbed the cow (roast beef) and the Italian. I was able to order easily online and personalized options for our sandwich. The order was ready for pickup in less than 10 minutes. Everything made as ordered. Downgraded to 4 stars as meat was light. I am not sure if this was because of the special or just how much meat you get on a 6 in. My husband was still hungry after a sandwich so next time will get bigger size sub and maybe try the soup. They also have desserts and other sides at this location.

I've always passed by this little sandwich shop in California and have always wondered what they got. Finally I had some time to pick up food for lunch and the hubby placed a phone order for pickup and the rest was history. It's a tiny shop on Logan and California, so don't blink or else you'll miss it! I lucked out and found parking right in front of the shop, actually I was illegally parked but just put my blinkers on as I was on a mission to do a quick in and out! The service was fast and efficient and got my food in about 5 min or less. I ordered the turkey sandwich with cheese and when I got home, I was expecting your usual sub sandwich comparable to Subway or Jimmy John's. When I opened up my sandwich I was surprised to find fresh deli meat in there and the sandwich was dipped in some sauce. At first I wasn't sure if I wanted my sandwich all dipped and wet but once I bit into that sucker, I was pleasantly surprised that I really loved the taste. It was a very tasty turkey sandwich! I would totally order that again! Can't wait to try all the other things on their menu. Heard also that they are one of the only sandwich spots in chicago that makes a muffuletta sandwich.

Will definitely go back. I ordered quite a few things on the menu and looking forward to trying others. I really enjoy sub sandwiches and find options in the Logan Square are, while good, still limited. Rosie's is a great option for a neighborhood deli sandwich. I'm a soup-should-be-on-the-food-pyramid level soup fanatic and they have a lot of options here, which melts my heart! It seems real small business family vibes.

Great local spot - 4 stars because while over-stuffing the sandwich is great for the overall value of the delicious food you're getting, it's kinda hard to eat without being cut in half. Also - should've gotten it hot, not cold. I know for next time!

Needed a quick lunch after the gym and decided to take part in Rosie's Wednesday lunch special: any 8 inch for $8.95. Ordered the Deluxe Italian on their website and it was bagged and ready when I arrived. I was greeted at the door and given my sandwich with a smile. It was packed with meat and fresh veggies and the thinly sliced onions with the oil & vinegar are spot on! I will definitely be back to try the Italian beef. Great quality and quick service.

Super disappointed in meatballs-dry and weird tasting. Maybe better not delivered. around the size of a Jimmy John's slim.

First time ordering, i got the Tuesday Special - (2) 6" Deli Subs for $12. It is a good deal to try a couple of subs without a huge commitment. Overall, great bread, quality meats and cheese, fresh toppings. They weren't stuffed, but certainly not skimpy. Definitely worth a try! Toasted Ham & Cheese - I was a little worried when I first unwrapped it that there wouldn't be enough cheese, but it was all there and really well balanced, great sub. Cold Classic Italian - Again, really nice balance of great ingredients. Unfortunately, they do not specify that they use Balsamic Vinegar - I wouldn't call that 'Classic Italian' and ruined the overall sub for me. I will try to specify Red Wine Vinegar next time and then it would be perfect. I splurged on the Italian Wedding Soup ($6.50 for 8oz!). Again, it's not a Classic Italian Wedding Soup, it was more like a light Minestrone with meatballs - But it was good.

Such a perfect turkey sub. Filled me with a deep sense of gratitude for life. Highly recommend adding the giardiniera. This was a sandwich of significant heft, would probably hurt if you threw it at someone.

It may be the yummiest meatball I ever ate. I was watching my carbs so ordered the meatball keto bowl. My co-worker had the meatball sandwich n loved his as well. Super friendly. Great lil gem

Sandwiches are the best and prepared well. They are on the pricey side but I love them a ton. Never had a bad sandwich from this place. Make sure to remember it's cash only as well, their Italian sub rules. They also have quality chips and drinks too which is a requirement for a good sub place. The staff is definitely on the quieter side but in the multiple times I've been there my order was correct and served quickly. Everyone here who is criticizing them seems to forget that working in service isn't always fun, they weren't rude but they aren't going to be cheery and honestly I don't care. I don't need to be buttered up and it's nice not having to make small talk while waiting for my sub. Also, they have never been outwardly ~rude~ to me, just quiet. Some people just want their asses kissed, I'm not that customer so take that for what you will. Anyway, the food is good, fast, and done right. Five stars for a good sub, always and forever.

Rosie's has been my go to sub shop for over a year, it's my every Sunday stop after the farmers market on my way home. The cashier, Rose, always recommends a different sandwich every week and the recommendations never fail to exceed my expectations. The guy behind the sandwich prep table, I believe she mentioned is her brother, always has my sub ready in less than 5 minutes. My dog, Bruno, receives a slice of turkey every time as well!!Will be back this Sunday to try the Eggplant Parm!

I only tried the muffuletta, but it was great. In particular, I loved the sesame covered bread and the olive relish. I would definitely return for that, but they also had a bunch of other Italian deli sammies I'd like to try too.

The online menu prices don't reflect the actual current prices -- very deceitful. The actual prices are much higher, like the new Al Pacino sub is $20! Just insane. I'll take my business to Humboldt Haus!

Looking to cater an event? Rosies Sidekick should be on the top of your list. Fred and Sam were super helpful in planning the perfect amount of food for our 120 person event. On top of being super communicative & making the planning process stress free, the food was top notch. Sandwiches, pasta, potato salad - it did not disappoint! (Seriously though, all of our guests kept asking "where is this from??" ). Good people & even better food are hard to come by these days - Dont sleep on Rosies!

Sandwiches divine. Fresh bread and great assortment. They deliver too! Yum! I had tuna sandwich. Husband had the super italian.

Rosie's Sidekick sandwich shop in Schaumburg and Chicago are the best sandwiches in the Chicagoland area! Top notch food and the service even better! Rarely do I give a 5 star review, but Rosie's deserves every star!!

I had the Italian sandwich (my go-to sandwich) with everything including giardiniera and it was delicious. I usually don't order with the balsamic but I think that might be my new favorite addition. When drizzled over the onions-**chefs kiss*-it just takes it to a whole other level. I love Bari, and Humboldt Haus but I would put Rosies up there with them as equally amongst the best in the city. There seems to be a lot of reviews towards the staff and customer service--I can't speak to that as I've only had great experiences.

My partner and I always try to eat local and we found ourselves wanting sandwiches. We found a neighborhood gem. Owned by super nice people who use fresh ingredients to include some homemade breads such as on the muffuletta. We did the picnic basket for 2 when we found it on their menu (they also have larger baskets) and decided to have an impromptu picnic. To our surprise when we got to a shaded area a little plastic picnic blanket was in the bottom of the basket. Thank you for the great lunch and great picnic.

There are better sandwiches elsewhere. The sandwiches are decent. I suppose I've gone here because it's convenient and the workers are nice. I've only had one short-lived interaction with the owner, but it was pretty weird and inappropriate in my opinion. 'Twas so off putting that I won't ever go back here. Don't assume things about your customers and don't ask them to pass out flyers for you. If you have diarrhea of the mouth and lack self-awareness (especially about how you might be implicitly biased) it is probably better to stay home.

Amazing find! When I used to live in Chicago I remembered the original Rosie's in Westown and I was thrilled to find them in a new location and still putting out amazing sandwiches and cannolis! Best cannolis and muffuletta is the city, wish I had this back home in Florida cause it is a gem that isn't to be missed! Definitely would return.

Okay, full disclosure...After reading the negative reviews, I went in here for lunch today, really wanting to hate this place. I placed an on-line pick-up order and drove over to get my sandwich, fully expecting the employees to be a-holes and the sandwich to suck. None of that happened. I parked in the loading zone out front, walked in, the guy behind the counter said, "Sup?...You here for an online order?" I told him I was, gave him my name, he handed me my sandwich, and I was on my way. Granted, my exposure to the guy behind the counter was limited, and I very well may have not liked him if I got to know him better, and he may very well have been a 1st class d!ck, but for the purpose of what he and I were trying to achieve with that interaction, I think it went well...For both of us. I got home, opened my sandwich, and it was a solid looking turkey sub. I'm kind of a sandwich snob, so I doctored it up with some Marconi "medium hot" giardiniera relish and some of my home-made oil, vinegar, and Italian seasoning, and then dove into the sandwich with 2 hands while my two 160 lb English Mastiffs stared at me from the couch where they sleep 23.5 hours per day with a look of envy on their faces. The sandwich wasn't mediocre, as I was expecting it to be based on some of the reviews...It was actually pretty darn fantastic! I wouldn't say that it's the absolute best sandwich in Chicago, but I would put it in my TOP 5, and that's saying something, because I also frequent Bari, L' Appetito, J.P. Graziano's, and Conte Di Savoia...Not to mention Manny's, although Manny's is a completely different kind of sandwich shop, obviously. I am definitely going to be returning to Rosie's, in fact, I'm going to add it into my lunch rotation...And if the guys/gals behind the counter are mean to me in any future visits...Screw it! I'm not going to let some a$$hole get between me and a damn fine sandwich.

10 STARS!!!! Got a chance to have a sandwich delivered to me! On the money. Absolutely DELISH! It doesn't get any better than this. Can't wait to go try some more. Go check them out, YOU will not be disappointed.

Meh, meh, super meh. I had this place in my bookmarks forever! But the flavors just didn't hit. I had the eggplant parmasean, and the flavors was bland and just not worth the time/money spent there.

Such a friendly and great place to get real homemade sandwiches. They made me a Italian Beef custom for me. Provolone and fresh tomato sauce topped with more cheese and toasted in the oven. My wife loves the Deluxe Italian Sub. Love it!

I've been coming here for about a year and it doesn't get better than this. From the owner to the staff you always get greeted walking in. It's like going to Grandmas house to eat. They are a small business that supports small businesses. YOU NEED TO EAT HERE!

Worked with Fred on a catering order for a graduation party. He made it an amazing experience and was delightful to work with. Was able to place the order just a few days before and still get everything delivered. We got an assortment of deli sandwiches and Italian beef. Deli sandwiches were great and the beef was one of the best I've had in Chicago. Would recommend bother catering or just simply stopping by for a sandwich. Also worth calling out if you're looking to cater. They were very fairly priced compared to other places I looked at. They also did offer warming trays and such if needed. Their catering menu lacks some of these details but they definitely stood out to me as a company that could handle catering.

Ok, just go... It's good and it's fresh and the Italian Beef is a WOW, yes. And my boyfriend had the Couch and we had to finish at home it's so big. Even had ice cream and a cannoli for dessert. 5

I have passed by this place numerous times and finally stopped in. I am so glad I did - my sandwich was really delicious! I loved the bread they use, it really adds to the sandwhich. I also had the minestrone soup, which I really enjoyed. It was very flavorful and had a nice amount of vegetables. I will definitely be coming again!

This review is called - I should have gone to Jimmy John's! Have you ever been excited to try a new place? Well that was me an hour ago. That is NOT ME NOW! The lady at the counter was HORRENDOUSLY RUDE! I ordered a quick meal through Uber Eats. I was excited to try their Koolaid but found out it's no longer available. I decided I would buy 3 drinks. She rang up my sodas and I pulled out my credit card. She SCREAMED - CASH ONLY?!? There were no signs that I saw. Ok though. How about you make a sale by saying "Hey we don't accept credit cards but if you'd like place an order through Uber Eats for the items and you will be good to go." Long story short - DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE! Also the cannoli that I ordered was not "piped when I ordered it" It felt cold and sad :( Just steer clear of this place. It's just not worth it!

So, I've been to this sandwich shop a few times and just recently I had ordered the Al pachino sandwich and... I just wish I lived closer to the city so I can try everything there. They need to get out to the burbs.. or maybe a food truck or pop up shops so they can venture out west! Had to get several jars of their giardiniera too. Keep it up guys! Great sandwiches.

Got the Italian and it was ok. Only one thin layer of meat and the rest was filled with shredded lettuce and typical toppings. For $15 I was expecting more meat. At least the bread and everything was fresh

Damn the Italian is amazing! And the cookies at the counter..look for the almond ones! Dynamite! And ooo the meatball, that is stellar! Go figure, I met the Owners sister visiting from Italy while I was there! I went to the namesake Sicilia up On Lawrence and am sooo happy there is a place to get great Italian on their awesome bread! This place will give all Italian subs a run for the money with the olive tapenade spread...a dreamy delight!

You don't get to be mediocre and mean.... Both visits have been bad. I can accept an overpriced and poorly made sandwich from someone that doesn't make me feel like I've bothered them. I didn't come into your living room, I went to the place with signs on the window that appeared to be operating a business. I won't be back and unless you're starving and working a block away like me, you shouldn't either. $13 for a prolly made sandwich, using whatever ingredients they have left in the cooler.

Don't go here, not worth dealing with the miserable male service members. No one should be so grumpy at 11:30 am when you have absolutely no customers. Pathetic behavior lol.

I typically love this place but the last time I got a sandwich the person behind the counter did not wear gloves.

What is up with not offering any seating?? None. Not even stools where there is a window ledge? I get that you are a small establishment but at least offer 3 to 4 stools. We ordered a Turkey sandwich to go. It was decent. Humbolt Huas has similar sandwiches and they have seating and better sides and is less money. The meat here was skimpy and so was the mustard / mayo. Though I want to like this place I dont think we will be back.

Sandwiches were okay maybe don't get the eggplant parm though, pizza breads are good they put the toppings inbetween the sauce and cheese, great soft drink selection, cannolis are so bomb but the way they wrapped them was so unnecessary. Will be busy any afternoon it's a hot spot

Fake pistacho on cannoli. This is a major health issue, dying peanuts to pass them off as pistachos is potentially playing with a persons life. If I had a peanut allergen, this would've sent me to the ED. Filling was also sour somehow, very acidic.

$14 for a meatball sandwich and 20oz Kool-Aid. I knew what I was getting into looking at the menu and prices, but I thought I'd give them a shot seeing as the reviews were pretty high. The sandwich was pretty decent. $10 for a meatball sub seemed a bit high, but it was tasty. Moist meatballs. Quite large and had nice flavor. It did the trick and filled me up. Kool-Aid. $3...I know. Who in their right mind pays $3 for a 20 oz of flavored sugar water? I've done worse. I hadn't had anything to drink all day and it was 3pm. That's my excuse...and it hit the spot. Would I go back? Like my stars, I'm middle of the road. I can head to Bari and get a 12" meatball sandwich for $6 & an Italian submarine for $6 as well...and it's from an Italian grocer.

Much in the same way pastrami is the most sensual of all the salted-cured meats, the Muffaletta is the sultriest of all the sandwiches. She's voluptuous, perfectly curvy, full of salty deliciousness, lasts for days. And so naughty in name, like a French temptress! She's also frustratingly hard to find in the northern climes. So imagine my pleasure when reading the menu at Rosie's Sidekick, and stumbling over that magic word! Rosie's, being Italian, calls it Muffuletta, but gastronomically they are nearly identical twins, and I was not disappointed. Rosie's Muffaletta is a monument to the form - just be sure to add cheese. It is so filling and delicious and takes me back to Central Grocery. There is precious little seating here, so you'll have to take your Muffaletta home with you, for some private time. Or you could eat it on the boulevard - ditching convention and courting scandal. You filthy rogue!

Order the Al Pacino best sandwich in the city!! It's place's like Rosie's Sidekick that make Chicago such a great place!

I love that they offer a gluten free meatball bowl. It's all kinds of delicious!! My fiancée had the couch and hasn't stopped talking about how good it was since. We will be back soon.
