Rosso is a wine bar located in the space of what used to be the city's lone Argentine pizzeria, and from what I can tell by the menu, is still under the same ownership. Of course I had to order a fernet and coke as a result.
We started with the Spanish tortilla, which was excellent - a typical mild, well-textured preparation with potatoes served with a simple Mayo-ketchup. Our table ordered empanadas - naturally the baked variety typical of Buenos Aires (which immediately transition to fried when you cross the line into the city's gritty suburbs like La Salada).
The tomato croquettes were also delicious, as was the decadent oily focaccia. The owners here are eminently warm and hospitable, and I'm glad they've found a new purpose for their old space.
