"Bright Mediterranean flavors go into bowls, wraps, and salads, with protein options such as lamb meatballs, salmon kabob, and falafel and sides like couscous with currants or red cabbage slaw. The wraps, using stretchy laffa as the bread, are especially well-balanced." - Jasmine Ting, Eater Staff

I really really enjoyed Roti. When asked what this place is I tell people a Mediterranean Chipotle that’s even healthier. Everything tasted yummy and fresh. I loveddddd both the pita and the plate, and the falafel was great. The sauces were delicious as well My only problem was with certain staff members that seemed very uninterested or not on top of my order. My cashier was very unprofessional and when he did speak to me, a little bit sarcastic? I don’t know why but I ended up just finishing my order since he seemed like he was shooing me off, and decided not to order dessert or the pita and hummus because it was just a hassle and I didn’t want to hold up the line.

I was here yesterday on a Friday afternoon during prime lunch time hours. The first surprising thing I noticed is that there aren’t lines out the door like some of the other Mediterranean QSRs in midtown that I’ve tried (Naya, Cava). My husband and I tried •Wrap with spicy lamb meatballs: the meatballs lacked texture and were a bit on the cold side but the flavor itself was nice and had enough heat. The wrap is a little hard to eat without being messy because it’s not wrapped tightly. One of the couscous fillings chosen were overly sweet and also very cold. •Chicken Roti rice plate: the chicken itself tasted great, and the cabbage salad or hummus tasted fresh. But the temperature again, was off. The salad sides are too cold and the rice and chicken are not warm enough. •the classic pita with falafel: falafel was very soft, to the point it is mushy. It might taste good but texture is weird. At least it was hotter in temperature. Food wise, with some improvements to the texture of the falafel and lamb meatball, and tweaking the temperatures a bit, this would be pretty fantastic. Now the service... I am not sure what makes these employees less happier or motivated than others in similar types of grain bowl/wraps restaurants but the staff seem very disinterested or unhappy they have to be there to the point that I don’t think I’d need to ever return. I do not expect NYC quick service establishments to be extremely friendly or full of smiles, but I do expect them to be helpful and answer questions directly. It was my first time there and I was trying to order a chicken bowl. I got the rice and the chicken and when the bowl was passed on to the person who was to add the sides and toppings, I pointed to one side and asked if there are onions in it. The woman did not say anything back and was about to scoop it into my bowl so I said that I wanted to know if it had onions first. Then the employee next to her said that the particular item I was pointing to didn’t have onions, but just in a way that seemed like they were annoyed with my asking a question. It would have been helpful if they told me which items don’t have onions in it but they just left it to my guessing. So I just picked a few other items that seemed onion free and moved along. When my husband ordered the classic pita, even though the sides should be pre-set per the menu, the employee still looked at him to tell him what to put inside of the sandwich. I would have thought they know what to put inside if it’s on the menu without the customer having to look at the menu and tell them what to add. Perhaps it’s a matter of some additional training in understanding the menu items and also bare minimum customer service. Also, I was about to order a spindrift flavored seltzer but noticed that all items in the fridge were warm.

Conveniently located close to Central Station with good prices for a lunch. With 13$ dollars I had a very filling meal. It was quite ok and felt rather healthy compared to other fast food options. 12 to 3 pm is rush hour, so the place might be a bit crowded but the line goes fast. People seem to take away food, so you should be able to find seating. No matter what you order, you customise it so be prepared to decide fast on what you want in your bowl.

This place is amazing!! The food is so fresh. I ordered a chopped salad with a salmon kabob and garlic sauce. I also got chicken roti in a container on the side so I added that in as well once I finished the salmon haha- I was really hungry. They have salads, pitas, wraps, rice plates, flatbread pizzas- so yummy!! Perfect for lunch if you work in the area and also a tasty and clean dinner option!

This was my first time visiting Roti Modern Mediterranean - and I'm pleased to say that I would go back! The menu is small, but you have the option to customize your meal. I ordered a create-your-own rice bowl (see photo). Nothing seemed to be lacking- every piece made for a mouthful of flavors that worked in favor of each other (tangy, a hint of spice- even sweet from the raisins in the couscous. In total, it was a pretty hearty meal. Not bad at all for under $13 bucks, and paying via the Roti app was a breeze too!

One of my favorite midtown lunch places to satisfy my Mediterranean craving. You have several options - sandwich, rice plate or salad with protein choices and unlimited toppings!!! It’s delicious, healthy and hearty.
