Third-generation chef Michele De Liguoro and his sister named Rovello 18 after the address of their family’s fine dining restaurant Da Pierino, a Michelin-starred destination in the 1950s. De Liguoro isn’t chasing a star at Rovello 18, instead offering a more casual answer to Da Pierino. The homey yet upscale osteria fare includes pasta paired with creamy broccoli rabe, clams, and bottarga, as well as crispy risotto al salto topped with Lombard taleggio. Diners can watch the action unfold in the open kitchen while enjoying seasonal antipasti, including sauteed artichokes, puntarelle salad, and grilled pepper tonnato (caper-spiked tuna sauce). Rovello 18 is also a wine destination: Its collection of over 800 bottles is replete with microproducers and crucial bottles from Italy and France.
Know before you go: If they’re fully booked, you can likely find a seat at the bar." - Elizabeth De Filippo-Jones
"This lively and welcoming bistro furnished with smart wooden furniture is the setting for cuisine which focuses on carefully chosen ingredients presented with the minimum of fuss. Although the menu features a few specialities from Milan, most of the dishes here are Mediterranean in style. Interesting wine selection, including by the glass." - Michelin Inspector
What a fantastic dinner experience! And what a wonderfully orchestrated theatre sitting at the bar watching the chefs.
Off to a good start with puntarelle and a glass of white, followed by peperoni tonnati and crocchette di baccalà.
Seconding were guainca brasata and polpo, accompanied by red and whites respectively.
Torta cinzia and tarta de queso for desserts.
OK selection of wines by the glass.
Great atmosphere and super service. Will definitely be back!

I visited the restaurant in May last year.
Even after a year, I still miss the delicious flavors from that time.
Especially the Cacio e Pepe, the fresh octopus, tiramisu and zabaglione 😘
yes, every dish in the photos…
Of course, the view there was absolutely stunning as well.😍
There may be many great restaurants in Milan waiting for me to discover, but I still want to go back and visit this one again.

Lovely restaurant especially the outdoor dining area for the warm weather. Excellent food and the staff were friendly and attentive.
Highly recommend the octopus and all the signature dishes of Milan. The desserts (chocolate cake and cheese cake) were the cherry on top.

Loved this place! I went there following a friend’s recommendation and it was totally worth it. Their Risotto Milanese was delicious, the waiter recommended great white wines that go with it. The atmosphere is sophisticated without being too much or making you feel uncomfortable. We also tried their baked cheesecake and tiramisu - both of them totally delish.

Initially, the atmosphere felt a bit distant, but once the meal arrived, the service became excellent. The staff was knowledgeable, and the food had a charming, rustic, and homey quality nothing over sophisticated. The cacio e Pepe was likely the best I've ever had, and the desserts were delightful too

My favorite meal during my 3 night stay in Milan - went back twice. Still dreaming about this tomato pasta that had incredible depth of flavor and perfectly textured noodles. Price was also very reasonable!

We were a group of 15 people, but the staffs were very friendly and accommodating. The food was good and everyone enjoyed their dishes. The veal cutlet was superb. I could see that the local business men were using this place, and this usually means a good sign. I would definitely go back for my next trip in Milan.
