"Royal Bangladesh Indian Cuisine, the brightly lit, downstairs neighbor to Panna II and Milon on the corner of East Sixth Street and First Avenue, appears to have closed, according to EV Grieve. The restaurant has reportedly not been open for weeks and there’s a for rent sign in the window." - Erika Adams

Very colorfully lit up, playing Bali music, which is fun. Authentic food, which was all delicious. Waiter was very nice and gave us appetizers and dessert "on the house". My kids loved the real mangos, pineapples, pieces of ginger in their meals. One said, "each bite was unique, and the bites each had different flavors." Nothing was spicey, but I'm sure you could request spice.

Came here after a little walk and loved how the lights toiled from the outside. There’s a similar restaurant above it and both owners try to convince you to come into their restaurant so that was a little intimidating but we ended up coming to this one. The food was AMAZING and everything was perfect! The food also came quickly and everything was very filling. Here’s a picture of what we got (ignore the eaten wings!)

I really enjoyed the butter chicken and paratha, but we waited over an hour for our food when there was only two of us. Food was good and cheap, and the environment is really cool.

Even though it was very crowded on a Friday night, the three of us were seated within 20-30 minutes. We brought our own wine, which we ate with the delicious food. They also gave us complimentary papadum to snack on while we waited for our food, and ice cream for desert.

In the 80s my family built this restaurant by hand, hammering one nail at a time, dilapidated semibasement with no floor, no plumbing, only a shell. Over time it became quite popular with regular customers who became our friends. Many restaurants in nyc copied many dishes we had come up with, new recipes and cooking process. But the reality of racism and crimes took over the east village. Our family had 14 restaurants within two blocks. Residents could not withstand the prosperities we were making fulfilling American dreams. Thus all restaurants sold and we vanished as our children moved to other professions. After 30 years i returned recently to walk back to the memory lanes. Unsettling changes but ok restaurant which used to be called royal Indian cuisine at that time.

This is why Pakistan separated from Bangladesh. Worst food I’ve ever consumed in my life. Left with lasting trauma, and will never consume such food ever again. Tried to tip themselves, and gave me a reciept that was written on paper, it was not even real, was literally made on the spot. Do not trust the bright lights or the barren landscape void of New Yorkers. Absolute disgrace to desi culture.

The worst restaurant I have ever been. Food tasted horrible. I wanted to throw up after we came out. Cheap lights flash on your face. Loud horrendous music keeps playing. Every single thing we ordered tasted yakee, bland and improperly made. Please believe the reviewers who is giving 1 star. Others could be owners friends or family. The cook is not even an amateur one. Anyone can cook better that.

Please avoid at all cost: We had a friend's birthday party here and got tricked by a $25/person all you can eat deal pushed by the manager. I had to fight him in order to cancel this deal as we didn't even get to look at the menu. The food tastes awful especially the garlic naan. Please check your bill (handwritten/beyond recognition) carefully and be aware a 19% mandatory tips were included and expect you to pay more.
