The Best Indian Restaurants in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"A franchise from Surat in India, Royal Dine offers an extensive menu of Kathiyawadi fare from the westernmost region in the state of Gujarat. This hyper-regional cuisine is a fusion of Gujarati and Rajasthani fare. Pick from dishes such as Sev Tameta, an entree made with stewed tomatoes and topped with fine chickpea sev, or Kaju Gathiya Nu Shaak, a creamy entree using cashews as its main ingredient. To pair with the meal, ask for a ghee-laden, freshly made rotlo — a griddle-fried, gluten-free pearl millet bread. This bread does not show up on the menu. Add a side of Desi Gud with ghee, a homestyle condiment of shaved jaggery smothered in rich ghee. Additionally, there are three large screens playing sports, with at least one cricket match and a fourth playing desi music videos complete with karaoke lyrics." - Nandita Godbole

The restaurant is really nice. The food is delicious and the service was excellent. I will definitely eat here again.

Tried the Pani Puri, Ragda Chaat, and Mutton Biryani. The Pani Puri was crisp and flavorful, the Ragda Chaat was too tangy, but the Mutton Biryani was outstanding with its rich aroma and taste. The ambiance is vibrant and visually appealing, with a modern design and attention to detail. A great dining spot, and it’s open till 11 PM!

This Indian restaurant offers a delightful culinary journey. The aromas alone are enough to entice your taste buds. Each dish is carefully prepared with fresh ingredients and vibrant spices. The menu boasts a wide variety of options, ensuring there's something for everyone. It's a true pleasure to experience such flavorful and authentic cuisine.

Let’s start with the good. The atmosphere is really nice, it was not busy and looked amazing. Great music choices, but was very loud for a quiet night. Also, the staff seemed really nice. Now to the iffy parts. We ordered the traditional paneer and dal makhani from the Punjabi menu, and it is definitely not authentic. It was filled with ghee (truly Punjabi-like in that sense) and the flavours were average at best. Special mention to the paneer as it did not taste like a paneer butter masala, just some random paneer gravy. Dal makhani was decent in comparison, however. In addition, you have to physically tell them when you are ready to order (which is weird for a seemingly fancy restaurant) and our rice took forever to get (at which point our food was cold). Overall, not the worst experience but there’s definitely better in nearby Patel Plaza.

Delicious food. Methi pakoda and vegetable Manchurian is a must order in the appetizers. Baingan bharta and bajri no rotlo was amazing. Everything that we ordered turned out to be pretty amazing. Almost all the menu items are totally customizable as they make everything from scratch. Service was so good. If you have any dietary restrictions, you can call them in advance and let them know about it so that you don't have to wait much on a busy day when you dine in.

I’ve been coming to Royal Dine for a long time, but unfortunately, this visit was very disappointing. The food tasted old and lacked any flavor. The rice we were served had a strong, unpleasant smell, and we couldn’t even eat it. The biryani was also extremely bad — not at all what I’ve come to expect from this place. Really sad to say, but after this experience, I don’t think I’ll be returning.

I had a very unpleasant experience at Royal Dine Restaurant. To put it simply, the food was absolutely terrible. Every dish we ordered was bland, lacking any real flavor or seasoning—it was like eating boiled ingredients with no thought put into the taste. We were hoping for a good meal, but instead, it was a complete waste of money. Not only was the food disappointing, but it also felt like no care was taken in preparation or presentation. It’s shocking how a place calling itself a “restaurant” could serve food with such low quality and expect customers to return. The only thing I ended up with was regret. I would strongly advise others to avoid this place. There are far better options around where your money will be much better spent. I absolutely do not recommend Royal Dine to anyone. Save your time, appetite, and money.

Yelp
Came around 8pm on a Friday. The space is really big and most of the tables were empty although more people did trickle in later. We saw they had a buffet so we checked it out and compared it to the menu. Since the buffet was only $13 we went for it to try different things. Buffet included rice, Dal, 2 chicken dishes, mutton, samosas, paneer, butter naan, and gulab jamun. Menu was South Indian. The chicken and samosas were my favorite. It's real heavy food so be prepared and there weren't any vegetable options which I would have loved. Be sure to come hungry if you do the buffet! Service was kind and attentive. Parking: private shared lot

Yelp
I ordered the chicken biriyani, which came in a clay pot. The portion was generous and it was flavorful, though I wouldn't call it the best biriyani I've had. Even though the menu and website advertise a buffet, there was no sign of it during lunch hours on a weekend. The restaurant was empty when I was there. Service was unattentive - even though I was the only guest! I had to ask twice for water. When it finally came, it came in a plastic bottle and no glass was provided. Although my opinion is based on just one visit, I'd say that there are plenty of better Indian options nearby.

Yelp
(I LOVE INDIAN FOOD.) Three things they don't tell you that they should: 1. If you like spicy the buffet is for you if you don't they have a sweet sauce you can pour over it to make it tolerable but it still has a kick. You can also order from the menu but the items I tried that way didn't impress me. 2. Nothing is translated. You don't recognize it, you are on your own 2. Even if you are with a group everyone is charged separately with additional surcharges so you are paying near $17.00 not the $13.00 advertised. Most buffets employees are quick to pick up used plates but not here. They piled up all the way up until two hours later after my group left. They were not apologetic about any of the above which shows a lack of respect for the customer. We were a large group (and we were not Indian) and it didn't seem like we were that welcome. I will not return.
