Look inside Grand Cafe’s extraordinary new window display in Minneapolis - Eater Twin Cities

"Since taking over from previous tenants, the restaurant has garnered rave reviews for French cuisine, fine wines, and divine service. The duo have always played close attention to artful details, from the vintage crystal serving pieces, to the silver trays food is delivered upon, to the must-follow Instagram account that encourages us once a week, 'It’s Friday, Act like it.'" - Joy Summers

Grand Cafe - Review - Kingfield - Minneapolis - The Infatuation

"The last time you got a bonus at work, you got too excited and bought a leather jacket with your name in sequins on the back that you’ve only worn once. Next time you have some money to spend, head to Grand Cafe instead of getting the matching pants. This Kingfield spot serves over-the-top dishes like caviar, a $35 omelette, and a savory donut chicken liver sandwich. Thankfully though, the space isn’t stuffy, and looks more like the inside of an Urban Outfitters than a fine dining restaurant. Come for brunch and feel free to bring your leather jacket with you." - Charlie Weisman

The gentleman at the counter was super friendly and welcoming as well as all the other staff there. Moreover the coffee was absolutely fantastic, my wife got a Cappuccino and I got a Latte and they both tastes what coffee should be like. We also loved the neighborhood that Royal Grounds is nestled in, it was quiet and absolutely beautiful to just sit outside and drink our coffees.

Google
Royal Grounds is a pretty cozy little coffee shop, nestled along Grand Ave in Uptown Minneapolis. The coffee is delicious, water is plentiful, and the snacks are too notch. I appreciate that the shop discourages tips in favor of a fair wage for all employees. The decor is also quite unique and fun, especially in the bathroom.

Google
Sweet coffee shop in the Kings Field neighborhood in Minneapolis. Plenty of seating. Fun beverage choices. Street parking only. Nice spot. Friendly. Enjoyed a lovely cup of tea with friends.

Google
I ordered the black iced tea, it was steeped fresh and pretty tasty. I liked the service and the drink. The coffee shop itself could you some news chairs and the tables were all a bit close to one another. It felt a little cramped. Otherwise a good experience.

Google
Royal Grounds is an awesome neighborhood coffee place appreciated for is awesome coffee, meeting place and service from employees. Love meeting up with my daughters for coffee, tea and an occasional scone. Love that they consistently have heavy cream ! Love South Minneapolis!

Google
Consistently delicious and well crafted drinks and baked goods. I both highly recommend and want to gatekeep this place so I can keep it for myself. Staff are all super chill and nice. I love coming here.

Google
RGC is really a beautiful corner coffee shop. You are lucky if this is your neighborhood and have such a classic shop to go to. If you are driving in the area it is worth a stop. Parking is on the street and this is a quieter corner than many of the other coffee shops. The building stands out on the quiet corner. Coffee was pretty good and served in a a right sized mug. I had a cubano, which, while not rare, is not the most common drink. Mine was strong and acidic as it should be. Highly recommended.

Google
Decided to stop by here after seeing one of my clients. Can I just say how cute and comfy this place is?!!! I had the Black Chai Latte and Pumpkin Cream Cheese (forgot entire name). The bakery was so soft and delicious! Such a relaxing and wonderful short time I had here. Staff was kind. Would be back to read some books!

Yelp
A sweet coffee shop snug in the middle of a residential area. This shop isn't your busting Starbucks style shop; so refreshing. Most patrons seem to be from walking distance, giving it a very cheers vibe! Friendly staff, who are helpful and know the regulars. On top of this great vibe, they have quality coffee AND they even make their own syrup (none of that high fructose nonsense). What more can you ask of a coffee shop than a nice vibe, the smell of fresh brew and friendly staff! You get all of that here.

Yelp
Cute little corner cafe. Quite a few of foot traffic during the brunch hours. Overall, everyone mind their business and worked on their laptop.

Chris E.

Yelp
Great neighborhood spot. Fresh baked goods. Mocha latte was awesome. Staff very friendly.

Yelp
My wife who is gluten sensitive just ate the Zucchini bread that I brought home yesterday and said it was the best gluten free pastry she has ever eaten! I always look forward to my stops at Royal Grounds for great coffee, great fresh baked pastries and the best service crew ! Bob

Yelp
Fantastic coffee and pastries. Small, warm nook tucked inside a great neighborhood! Employees extremely friendly. They have taken every COVID precaution - including separate entry and exit, "directing traffic" with walkways and spaces denoting 6ft.

Yelp
This morning I needed to continue nursing my holiday hangover with some food and wakey juice, so I decided to visit RG to change-up my coffee house routine. South(west) Siiideeee.... Nothing says "neighborhood joint" like baristas calling folks by their first name, the elderly chatting about old times, and moms playing board games with their kids. Royal Grounds definitely has an awesome and friendly buzz. The staff there welcomed me with a smile and patiently answered all of my questions I had about their goods. I decided to recover with a French press and Glorious Morning Muffin, which only came out to a little over $5. My dark brown caffeine elixir tasted deliciously strong and not too acidic. I also had my fill since the French press produces about two and half cups. As for the muffin, I think this may be one of the best muffins I've had in recent memory. The Glorious Morning has raisins and carrots that make it slightly sweet and pulpy, respectively. Unlike most muffins at cafes, this one tasted steamy fresh and pillowy soft. Essentially, it's a fibrous marshmallow. (Sounds weird, but that's the best way I can explain it.) No wonder so many parents with their children were there. I'm sure the muffin is a creative way for children to eat carrots. Aside from the coffee and food, Royal Grounds has sturdy tables (didn't need a newspaper to stabilize any of the legs), comfy chairs, and music that didn't make my ears bleed. (I frequently perform at hip-hop shows, and I can't even stand the noise level at some cafes.) I also love the fact that they support local businesses by selling their goods. I enjoyed perusing through the funny selection of holiday cards and small painted canvases. Bravo, RG! My only suggestions are that Royal Grounds could provide more outlets (for us mobile workers) and make better use of the empty white spaces on the walls (since the shop can come off as a bit stale). However, I'm really just being nit-picky. Overall, Royal Grounds' coffee is on par with many of the other stellar coffeehouses in the Twin Cities. Although, I think their food is what makes them special. Seriously, I would like to see other joints bake their own goods daily. I can't wait to return to buy some Valentine's Day cards, another cup of coffee, and of course, a Glorious Morning Muffin. If you're in the area, check out Royal Grounds.

Yelp
I loved my experience at Royal Grounds! I've been wanting to check it out and finally did this week. I like the relaxed neighborhood coffee shop feel. It was cozy and modern without the "I'm not nearly hipster enough to be here" vibe. The baristas were friendly and the Mexican Mocha I ordered was delicious. My friend and I also got some baked goods, which were equally tasty. I will definitely be visiting again!

Yelp
Getting better and better. When I moved to the hood I was warned to stay away. I didn't and keep coming back. Great soups from Zander and bagel wiches made from St. Paul Bagelry bagels. Fuck yeah! They also make their own decaf chai, which if you are lactard like my wife, you can get with soy milk. So when the crowds are too big and there are too many kids at P46, skip north a few blocks and try Royal Grounds.

Yelp
Oh my goodness!! Finally found my coffee shop home. I love everything about this place; the decor, the use of natural ingredients, and baristas who know how make coffee drinks for people who don't really like coffee but want to! Definitely will become a regular

Yelp
Wonderfully quaint atmosphere, great coffee, and super nice people. Adequate seating and courteous patronage make for a relaxing place to sit, sip, and visit.

Yelp
Best coffee shop around. This is the same place where cafe Tempo used to be. New owners are great they gave the shop a wave of energy the old shop was in much need of. The coffee is superb and the baked goods are to die for. They have free high speed internet and a cozy bring your whole family atmosphere. They have a section of toys and books for little kids and really promote a relaxing casual place to sit and sip your coffee or grab a sandwich and soup for lunch. I will not be going to Java Jacks for coffee after church again, this will be my sunday afternoon hangout with the wife and kids. Great food, great location, and great new ownership that had put this spot back on my map.

Anikka R.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, above average coffee! Tips are included in the price of the drinks, so it may seem pricier, but this ensures the baristas get paid well and it takes away the awkwardness customers sometimes feel about knowing how much to tip. The decor is antique-y and artsy, so very cute! (Although I thought the bathroom was a bit odd ‍) Location is in a cute mpls neighborhood. Close enough to the city to run errands afterward, but far enough to feel removed from the busyness while enjoying your morning coffee. Will defs return! Probably with family bc it's a great place and size for all ages!

Yelp
Great coffee, great food, cozy atmosphere, and they include tips in the price of their food and drinks in order to pay their staff a livable wage. All around cool place. I will definitely come back and will bring friends with me. Oh, and they're a Pokestop, which is an added bonus :)

Yelp
This is a great neighborhood coffee shop with ample street parking... need I say more? I still haven't adjusted to living in the city and dealing with the stress of either finding a parking spot or paying way too much, so I was glad that I didn't have to worry about any of this there. Anyway, they are open until 9pm during the week which is nice since most coffee shops seem to close sooooo early. It wasn't too crowded in the evening, but still cozy! There was a group meeting in the back where all of the comfy chairs are but the other tables aren't bad either. Sure, I'll take the window seat anyday! I love the policy that they pay their staff more to make up for not accepting tips. Even at that, prices are more than reasonable. They have almond, soy, and even coconut milk substitutes if I remember correctly. I ordered a hot chocolate and was asked if I want to make it a Mexican hot chocolate with cinnamon or peppermint...went with the mint and wow! Tasty. Plus I could still choose a small, medium, or large even in a ceramic mug. I wish that this coffee shop and most others would automatically serve drinks in these mugs unless otherwise specified rather than the other way around. *sigh* My friend had a root beer float which at first we were both like "ok why are they putting ice in it?" only to find out that they blend the ingredients together and serve it with ice. It wasn't obnoxiously sweet (yay!), glad I got to try a few sips! Never even knew that they had this as an option but apparently it's posted on the menu...oops. I forgot to say that the barista was super sweet and chatty, love the warmness and positive aura of this place. Around 8:30ish they started to clean up and vacuum, mop floors, etc. I felt a little awkward still being there at that point and felt like the rudest person ever because my friend and I were still chatting at 8:50 (we had a lot of catching up to do). I apologized (but I mean, it is posted that they close at 9 so it shouldn't have been that weird)... which they responded that of course it wasn't a big deal. Little awkward story there but basically, this is a great place that I would strongly recommend paying a little visit to for a coffee, bakery item (so many delicious looking options), and hey, why not play one of the board games!

Kev H.

Yelp
Great little neighborhood style coffee shop. The workers are friendly, both towards the customers and to each other, which signifies that it is a decent plaxe to work. One noteworthy thing was that there is a small sign near the register explaining how tips and gratuity is not accepted/necessary since the workers are paid a wage above the standard to take that into account. There is a mix of table seating areas and an area towards the back with a fireplace and sofas for a more comfortable seating situations. Music plays overhead that is not too loud and is conducive to both studying, conversing and whatever else one may do at a coffee shop. The beverage selections at this place contains all your classic standard coffees as well as loose leaf teas. There are a few pastries on hand. I tried the berry crumb cake which was delicious. All in all a nice place to spend an afternoon at a coffee shop. The only contrivance that I could think of was that I left smelling like a coffee shop.

Yelp
Based on the coffee and the atmosphere, I probably won't come back again. It's a cozy coffee shop nestled in a Minneapolis neighborhood. Decor is a mix of cottage and vintage. They have some cool pieces from local artists displayed and for sale. As a grad student, I came here to study on a Tuesday morning. The shop seems to be a good place for families, retirees and working professionals with the day off. I was probably one of four college/grad students in the shop. The coffee was ok, but I didn't try any of the pastries.

Penelope O.

Yelp
I appreciate their effort, but they really need to streamline their covid policies. It felt as if so many people were yelling at me and the other customers when I was in there, and I had a very hard time communicating with the cashier. I felt like I was doing everything wrong by being there, and though I only stayed a few minutes, I left with an unpleasant, embarrassed feeling that lasted for some time. Will not be going back soon.
google avatar

Shannon G.

Yelp
It's a coffee shop with a few treat options.. Nothing special. The interior could use some updating.

Bear A.

Yelp
Very tasty and very quick! I got a turtle latte and a cinnamon scone. The scones are homemade and you can taste the love with each bite. The latte has tons of flavor and chocolate and is better then any latte I've had from any chain restaurant. Would recommend!
google avatar

Brittanie M.

Yelp
Some of the best cold press I've had in Minneapolis. Very smooth and flavourful, they definitely have a great roaster. There were also a ton of baked goods available and my chocolate banana bread was perfectly moist and delicious. They also had some 'day old' discounted pain au chocolat which was good and quite the deal at only $1. If this were easier for me to get to by bus (it's right on a bus line with a stop right outside but on a line I never use) I'd definitely make this my go-to coffee shop.
google avatar

Yelp
This review is less based on the product itself, and more based on the all around experience I had. :-) Ok, it's Saturday morning and my husband and I want coffee- but not just any coffee.. we wanted to go somewhere with chairs or couches, the sun shining on our face, and the hope of the weekend at the door to greet us. Royal Grounds was that place. We'd never been here before, but I spotted it when I was on a run in the neighborhood last week. The place is a dooooorable, da'ling. The place smelled strongly of bakery items, and I actually think they back their own, which is impressive. And they offer what look like very tasty breakfast sandwiches. However, we elected for a cappuccino and a latte. Here's the deal. I used to work at a coffeshop, so I have higher standards. But then, so does every self-proclaimed hipster in Minneapolis. Anyway, the milk was sweet and delicious, the latte was properly foamed, BUT the cappuccino was not exactly a cappuccino. But, eh, close enough. The place has comfy seating, books, games, a kids area, sunlight, plants. Everything good. Basically, I went here looking for a particular feeling, and I got that feeling.
google avatar

Leah G.

Yelp
I have been in the search for a cozy coffee shop and this place really meets my expectations! Located in a quiet neighborhood, it feels less commercial and more homey. While I was there there were mix of people from millennials working on their laptops to parents with their children. Didn't feel pretentious like other coffee shops in Uptown. The place isn't too big so during busy hours it might be harder to find a place to sit but since it is tucked away it did not seem crowded or loud when I was there. I only got a latte but they did have some pastries that looked very good. They pay fair wages so you don't have to tip yet the prices are almost the same at other coffee shops I go to. Makes me wonder if those other places are overcharging me since the prices are the same yet I "should" tip there. Service was great as well. Would come back again!
google avatar

Brandon V.

Yelp
My wife went in and ordered two mocha lattes and two chocolate brownie type bars. The coffees were good, although I thought at $$6 each a bit high. But the bars were dry as can be. Prob 4 or more days old. In my opinion if you're going to charge $18+ for two coffees and two bars, they should be fresh.
google avatar

Tara J.

Yelp
Royal Grounds is very cute and has some of the best frou-frou coffee drinks I've had around town, but they are SO SLOW. I tried stopping in on the way to class with my dog a couple Saturdays mornings, and both times it made me late for class even though I allowed 10 minutes to get in and out. Both mornings only one barista was making drinks, which is crazy for a Saturday morning. On one occasion it took 15 minutes to get my latte; the next it took over 20. That's fine if you have a leisurely morning to hang around the shop, but when you're on-the-go, it doesn't really work. I will say that their Autumn Harvest soy latte is DELICIOUS and the service is very friendly even though it is incredibly pokey. Oh, and on top of the latte, they sprinkle cinnamon in the shape of a crown, which is ADORABLE.
google avatar

Sarah E.

Yelp
I'm kicking myself for not trying this place sooner after driving by so many times. I went to Royal Grounds for the first time today to get a little work done. The whole "working from home" thing never quite happens the way it should :) I didn't go in there planning to get anything to eat but the apple cake with cream cheese frosting just could not be passed up. That + an Autumn Spice Latte? Oh hello, fall. It's almost 80 degrees out right now, but this little combo made me excited for the cool days to come. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the place and felt really welcomed by the people working there.
google avatar

Mike K.

Yelp
I grew up in this neighborhood almost 40 years ago. This coffee shop is a great way to use Marty's Qwik Shop. The coffee and pastries are great! Stop and relax when you get a chance.
google avatar

Julie M.

Yelp
Had a great cup of java, the staff was friendly, and they have a sign by the register indicating "no tips" thanks to the fact that they have restructured their pay policy and now pay more to their staff to make up for tips. Plenty of pastry options--including some gluten free. Outdoor seating is available, which will be great if this state ever decides to stay warm :)
google avatar

Bradley J.

Yelp
Stopped in for the first time today because they brew/sell coffee from Roastery 7 - which I first experienced at Moondance Coffee in Lutsen. I'd put their beans up against anything from Dogwood (gasp!) - you can also find Roastery 7 beans at Jack's (formerly Java Jack's) and Kowalskis. Oh! And you get a free small coffee if you buy a pound of beans (the french roast was $11.99). The internet was free but not very fast, and the guy working was struggling a bit with an iPad and the Square app for accepting credit cards. They also accept Card Case, which I highly suggest you look into, since it allows you to pay without needing a wallet!
google avatar

Janis H.

Yelp
The coffee, tea and espresso here are great! The fresh baked goods (too many to list) and house original syrups and chai are really the clinching factors. The neighborhoodly atmosphere is welcoming. Each seat feels like a special spot- inside and out.
google avatar

Erin R.

Yelp
Tucked away on a quite part of Grand Ave in Kingfield you will find friendly staff, good prices and great baked goods made in house every day.

Roni T.

Yelp
Royal Grounds is a neighborhood favorite in St. Paul! This family-run coffee and breakfast shop has friendly and service-focused staff who treat their clients like family. Their coffee is amazing, especially for a non-coffee drinker, and their treats are delish (try the choc covered coconut macaroons- they are addicting!). The shop is located in a cute, quiet neighborhood with plenty of street parking. Make a trip to Royal Grounds for a great breakfast and coffee!
google avatar

Asli C.

Yelp
Perfect! Perfect! What a lovely atmosphere, such lovely people (managers and customers). I didn't get to taste the food just because I just had breakfast but all seemed delicious. Spacious, welcoming, friendly, obviously a fav in the hood. Tucked in a corner Royal Grounds is royal!! Regretting the fact that it took me 15 years in Uptown to get there
google avatar

Elise G.

Yelp
I live within walking distance of this coffee shop and I'm really grateful that i do. There is a fair amount of indoor seating and I really like sitting outside when it's nice out. They have some nice looking bakery items. I had the pumpkin bar today and I was pleased. The staff is friendly and I always feel welcome. Good neighborhood coffee shop!
google avatar

Holly G.

Yelp
Delicious coffee and baked goods are on order at this coffee shop. The shop was very comfortable and nicely decorated. Good, local flavor. Nice place to relax and read a book.
google avatar

Ben B.

Yelp
No tipping! Great family-run, neighborhood place that has a sign on the barista counter discouraging tipping, since they already pay a living wage to its employees. Wish I had a place like this in my neighborhood! Coffee and pastries are solid, but it's the "cozy" vibe of this place that bumps it up to 5.
google avatar

Sean G.

Yelp
Only place I've ever been in the world that serves Chemex coffee. For that alone they deserve a positive rating!
google avatar

Manny V.

Yelp
The new owners of Royal Grounds used to own Thornhill Coffee in the Oakland Hills in northern California before heading east to the Twin Cities. Boy do I miss them! But I'm happy that Minnesotans are now able to experience the warmth and friendliness of their service as well as the quality of their baked goods. I don't know what Chemex coffee is but I'm sure they picked a good brand to make all their tasty concoctions. While Jim is the business and barista side of the house, Joanne is the creative and details side that makes this couple (and family) an amazing addition to any community. Minnesota and Grand Avenue are lucky to have them! And now I'm jealous, but in a good way.
google avatar

Dennis L.

Yelp
When you need a great cup of coffee at 5AM, fast wi-fi, with easy parking, and friendly service, Royal Grounds is the place to go! I guess not everyone needs coffee at 5AM like I did, but I was working remotely on a weekday so a coffee shop with a good environment for productivity was important. They have pretty decent pastries - their cinnamon scone for example, is pretty good. I really like their tip policy - tip is built into their prices - but prices aren't astronomical as a result comparatively. Royal Grounds is truly a local favorite, as most people I saw throughout the morning were walk-ins from the neighborhood, so parking remained relatively open throughout the day. Looking forward to coming back!
google avatar

Yelp
The Royal Grounds is a hidden gem in South Minneapolis/Kingfield neighborhood. Located on the intersection of Grand & 42nd it's easy to find but hard to leave. Being someone who has somewhat particular tastes in coffee, I used to find myself visiting several different places depending on whether I was in the mood for a good cappuccino (as in a real cappuccino, not the lattes in disguise that so many places try to pass off) a cup of luxurious pour-over, a straight up double shot of creamy espresso or simply a really nicely brewed cup. Few places can offer all of those things - the Royal Grounds can. The cappuccino I had was perfection - not too hot, not too much milk, the flavor of the espresso enhanced by the froth rather than hidden. The cup of Indonesian pour-over was so full, rich and meaty that I couldn't concentrate on anything but the drink. With plenty of coffee bean knowledge behind the drinks you're sure to not only get your familiar favorites done right but you may even walk out with a new favorite. I'm not a mocha lover but when I tried the dark chocolate mocha with agave nectar that my wife ordered, I wanted the whole cup. The helpful barista explained to us that they use a special kind of unsweetened cocoa and blend it with agave nectar for a sweet and sultry flavor that isn't overpowering or syrupy. And that's the difference between the Royal Grounds and most coffee shops - they're not just there to fill your cup with coffee. They're there to fill your cup with coffee, your mind with knowledge and your heart with joy. And coffee isn't the only reason to go. They have an array of locally made baked goods and treats that are as interesting as they are tasty. I tried a piece of Earl Grey cake that was amazing. The flavor of the tea was pronounced but blended beautifully with the sweetness of the cake. I've only tried a couple of things so far (usually I'm a drink-only consumer) but I'll have plenty of time to sample the rest. It's my new go-to place. Check them out and you just might become a regular, too.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place, I go there once a week before school and it just brightens up me day. The food is delicious with a great selection, the people that work there are so, so nice, and the ambiance is really great. The bathroom decor is great and they have an area with a little table, books and toys for kids. (Chairs are really nice also, especially the cushiony ones.)

Yelp
This is the best coffeehouse in the Twin Cities. Great customer service. Cool owners! Good gluten-free and regular baked goods, soups, sandwiches, cool regular customers, plenty of parking, tucked away in a neighborhood location. Good hours! And they are very innovative with new types of baked goods and flavor combinations. Great place for meeting friends, first coffee dates, meeting colleagues, small book club meet-ups, etc. You will not regret coming to this coffeehouse whether it is too study, spend time, or just relax.
google avatar

David J.

Yelp
This place is so, so, so much better now than a few years ago. The newest owners have really worked well with the space, a space that really is difficult to use for customer comfort and enjoyment. Before I never liked meeting people there, but that is not the case now. Excellent food. I highly recommend this coffee shop. Amendment: Wednesday, Nov. 26 (day before Thanksgiving). I'm upgrading my rating of this wonderful coffee shop from a 4 to a 5. Best food ever!

Yelp
Royal Grounds is an adorable little coffee shop tucked away in Kingfield and it's worth stopping in if you happen be in the neighborhood. They make awesome vanilla lattes and the service is always fast. Great spot to meet friends - very cozy spot!
google avatar

Yelp
Royal grounds is everything you want in a local coffee shop. I can walk here, grab a coffee, read the paper, and get work done. The Nutella mocha and orange mocha are heaven on earth. They make delish egg sammies too if you need a lil substance. Def my fave coffee shop in town.
google avatar

Fredrick R.

Yelp
When you first walk in you are greeted with a warm solace from the frigid cold outdoors and the wonderful aroma of coffee beans. This coffee shop, which does not serve blended drinks, is still very good. They have an excellent hot chocolate comprised of warm milk and house made chocolate syrup. Overall they serve high quality drinks and have a very friendly atmosphere.

William V.

Yelp
A cozy, family-run place that functions as a neighborhood gathering spot for Kingfield. In addition to pastries, soup and sandwiches are available for lunch. A nice place to bide your time while waiting for Metro Transit as you can spot oncoming busses from inside in time to make it to the stop across 42nd St.

Yelp
I perhaps have found my new favorite local coffee shop in the twin cities. I was excited to try this place out and it by far exceeded anything I saw about it online. First off-the decor is super cute and comfortable. They have a fair amount of seating for being a neighborhood coffee shop and they had a section of toys for kids which was cool to see that though trendy, it was still very family friendly. The bathroom was very unique as well, every inch of space has been carefully thought out. Second-prices were comparable to any of the chains around here but the taste was much, much better. I tried a mocha and it had a strong, rich coffee taste to it which was fantastic, cause usually mochas are little weak on the coffee. And the barista made a lovely heart in my drink out of the foam-cute! Third-this place has great variety, both in drinks and in food. They have quite a variety of coffee drinks but also have non-coffee drinks and may I note, their tea is from Tea Source(best loose-leaf tea you can get in the cities). As for food, they have the usual pastries/desserts but also serve quiche and sandwiches. I tried a bit of some chocolate gooddness they were sampling and it was very tasty. Fourth-they have a really small but great gift shop of stuff made by local artists. The jewelry and shirts were especially cute and reasonably priced. So if I haven't raved on enough-I had a wonderful experience here and will be making it a frequent stop from now on.

Yelp
Went here for first time today--a neighborhood gem. Coffee was great, as was the egg/ham/cheese bagel sandwich and savory bread we had. Very homey feeling inside--whether seated by the window overlooking 42nd and Grand or couch surfing. The staff were very welcoming, greeting every customer that walked through the door by name the entire time we were there. It's clear that they've earned plenty of repeat business. Picked up a locally printed Minnesota t-shirt in the small gift shop. Will definitely be going back soon.
