Royal Palace Chinese Restaurant

We came in not fully knowing what to expect as the outside seems a little sketchy but our hesitation was quickly removed as we were greeted by very friendly staff. They interior had great decorations which I loved, however there was virtually no sound so it was really quiet and made me feel like I needed to whisper the whole time. Other than recommending a little music, I really liked the place and the sparkling tables. Also heads up, they serve the drinks in cups that day Pepsi but they serve Coke so if you have an issue with that, now you know lol. We ordered off the chef suggestion portion of the menu and got the Happy Family and the Chicken in a nest, which comes in an edible taco salad style bowl. When the Happy Family meal was served, it was poured onto a hot place and served to our table which was a bit showy and fun. I enjoyed it. When we were all finished, we asked for to go boxes and our waitress brought us an extra box of rice! She said you need more rice with leftovers and I agree and she is the best for that! The food was good and the service was nice. They have a good sized menu if you need lots of options and I was pleased.

We ordered $107.00 worth of food for a family get together. It was ALL garbage. House fried rice and regular fried rice was chewy like it had been made days ago. Mongolian beef was disgusting and the only taste it had was oil. The “beef” looked like I don’t know what and the orange chicken was so spicy NOBODY could eat it. Save your money and go ANYWHERE else

I’m beyond disappointed but I shouldn’t be surprised. I didn’t do my research completely on this establishment before choosing to do a take out order with them. But I’m still just so amazed this place is even open with all of its reviews on how bad the food is, and I agree. I got the chicken lo mein and it had a hair in it and undercooked vegetables, sesame chicken that was swimming in a sugar water mixture that coated every container in the bag, crab rangoons that had the smallest amount of crab and curdled cream cheese in it, and fried dumplings that were frozen in the middle and burnt on the bottoms. Sad to say I was hoping this place would be good. 0/10.

Ordered the sweet and sour chicken with pork fried rice. I got white rice and dry, crunchy chicken. The sweet and sour smells and tastes way off than any usual sweet and sour. Id find another chinese place to get food at

Ordered delivery. Was fast but delivered next door so I went and got it. I called them as I ordered Mongolian beef. They said new beef..its white. What? Does not taste like beef at all. As there is something stale tasing in here. Sadly not very good at all. Bummed especially what I paid....sigh

It’s a luck if a draw at this place. Our first time the food was decent, the second time we had hair in our shrimp fried rice but luckily they remade it and it was really good. This however will be the last time I’ll ever eat here. Ordered General Tso like I normally do and I have no idea what I got but it’s not chicken. Tofu maybe idk but even they couldn’t tell me what I got which is more alarming. Just go to Golden Harvest I know I will.

I ordered from this place for the 1st time and nevet again! Awful food! Over price! Terrible customer service. Long story short the so called cook should be fired. He thinks he is the manager and owner and cook. He said it was my fault the food was wrong and my fault it wasn't full. I will never support this place. He disrespected me. I asked for the owner and he told me they are in China. If you are reading this and you are the owner, I advise you to fire him. I'll never let my friends and family order from here.

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE *** I VERY MUCH AGREE WITH THE LATEST REVIEWS! *** Ordered 2 Imperial Chicken Low Mein combos 1 veg spring roll 1 spring roll Total: $28.83 (+ credit card fee they didn’t let us know about) = $29.37 Food was tasteless and the portions were small compared to another place in town I’ve gone to. Only thing that gave it some sort of flavor was the hot oil. Both combos had more vegetables than chicken...at most there were 3-4 pieces of chicken in each combo (and this combo is supposed to be bigger than the regular combo) For the price of what we paid you can DEFINITELY find a better Chinese place than this one. SAVE YOUR MONEY! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

I really wanted to try to support the underdog. It just wasn't good. For starters, I called in an order. The lady was a little gruff on the phone. Didn't get a name. I showed up not 2/3 min after calling it in and my order was already ready. I know this is a strange thing to complain about but I ordered tofu. That's rarely pre-cooked. But I think the quickness indicates that the dish is mostly precooked and just the protein is added. The dish came in a paper Togo container. Definitely made a mess. Very few vegetables and not much taste. It def tasted like it was a precooked dish. The steamed rice was very over cooked. The one dish was almost $17 after taxes. There are definitely other options that are much better. I definitely won't be going back.

I ordered general chicken. It was good. I think the chicken was old. This place used to be better.

Avoid this place, food was horrible. Egg rolls tasted of Burnt oil, w zero filling, same with spring rolls. House sPECIAL noodles, one gross shrimp, so over cooked it was nasty, they used frozen vegetables.. really. The shrimp in the Shrimp and veggies were over cooked small and disgusting, frozen vegetables The fried rice was tasteless and used very old rice, two, DAYS SITTING I. Fridge, Totally bad experience, they should be ashamed of the quality...

The food was good and tasty. The reason for only 3 stars is the service is the wait staff acted as if we were bothering her and interrupting her visiting her friend rather than focusing on her customers. Good service is what makes a breaks a restaurant with good food.

Wish I would've listen to the review. I have never ordered an egg foo young where it was served with a paper container. They also poured the gravy in it causing the bag to tear and spill. My Ubereats handed it to me. This is common sense. Please don't go here

My adult daughter and I ordered 4 items thru Uber eats. The food arrived fast and Hot and the driver's service was great. The food itself was not good. The Crab rangoons were hard to chew, the wonton soup was tasteless and oily and the Imperial Chicken lo mein was not edible. The only thing edible was the crispy wontons.

The worst Chinese food I ever eat. Genaer chicken are SO SOUR, taste as vinegar. And so is the Sour soup. Yuk. Winton soup is worse. Service is bad also. This Chinese lady talks with tone is so unpleasant as she doesn't want me to bothered her. Waste of money.

So I'm having a hard time with this one. The service was ok and the restaurant was reasonably clean. The foood was mediocre. There were two of us and both ordered of tHe chef special section of the menu. The portion sizE was pretty small with lots of sauce and not mmuch meat or vegetables. It will do in a pinch but wouldn't walk in the cold to eat here

Slow service. Only use dark meat chicken and did not taste like chicken. Not ambiance at all. Crab Rangoon was ok when we finally got it. Way over priced for taste and quality of food. I do not recommend.

This is the worst place ever. Do not order from here. I ordered for the 1st time and NEVER again. I wouldn't let my worst enemy order from here. Terrible food, over priced, awful cook. The cook needs to learn manners and go back to culinary school!

We ordered delivery of Lo Mein, Moo Goo Gai Pan and eggrolls. The food was tasty, hot and fresh and the delivery was timely. We would carry out or get delivery again. The delivery is especially nice since the other places that say "Yes" to delivery on Yelp do not deliver. This was the 4th place we called and we are glad we did not pay attention to the old bad reviews.

Found this place on accident. Very glad I did not go by the reviews as none of them are up to date. This is a family owned business and they really seem to care about the food and the quality. My supper "seafood delight" was $12.95. Shrimp, scallops and imitation crab along with fresh vegetables. They also give you a large portion of rice. Good place to become a regular.

I knew the reviews weren't great but it was the only Chinese food place open on DoorDash. This was by far the WORST Chinese food I've ever had. I ordered two meals and an app and all were gross.

Takeout order was quick and hot. Asked for extra spicy Kung Pao beef, but disappointed with the heat. Small portion for the amount paid. Egg rolls were soggy and tasteless.

Always a good experience here. Food has always been one of the better Chinese restaurants in town. I'd suggest letting them deliver vs going with door dash.

Decided to get takeout for lunch since I work close by and I really enjoyed it! The customer service was great! I did the lunch sized sweet and sour chicken with hot and sour soup. I am really picky about hot and sour soup after having horrible experiences with it at a few places, but Royal passed the test! It was really delicious. My meal was hot and fresh. The chicken was great! I will definitely grab take out again and dine in some time!

I've always had a great experience here food is good and staff is very friendly. I would reccomend.

Ordered via Food Dudes Delivery and it was perfect! Maybe it's dim sum in the restaurant because the portions were smallish which was really perfect for us (we are in a hotel and didn't want a bunch of leftovers). Steamed dumplings and spring rolls were lovely. Mongolian beef smelled and tasted terrific. Nothing was too salty or too greasy--which is hard to find in these parts. I ordered off the "healthy" menu and got steamed chicken and veggies. I know, not a Chinese classic, but I needed something yummy and plain without the aforementioned salt and grease and this was PERFECT. Amazing quality food surprised us, and the delivery from food dudes was fast. thank you!!!

Fairly standard midwestern Chinese food. I wish it would have been a bit tastier but I understand that the majority of their customer base is not looking for anything too authentic. I really like when a Chinese restaurant has a separate menu or at least a section of authentic dishes and hope that RP will give that a try.

The egg roll was overcooked, the rice was overcooked and mushy, and the chicken was squishy. The texture completely grossed me out and I couldn't finish it. Service was so-so, but food was not good.

Good Food! Asked for less Salt in my Chow Fun, which was done very well. He also prepared a very authentic Steam Fish (Crappy), Cantonese Style with Ginger & Green Onions...Excellent! I am a passing through visitor from SoCal & wb stay another returning tomorrow for lunch b4 returning home. My dining here made my trip to Sioux Falls!

Literally walked in. No one apparently there. Called out in Chinese the different ways. No answer. Sat down thinking they would return. Sat for five minutes. No one appeared. Got up and walked out. Some one poked head out and walked to cash register after I had left. Sorry folks, not sure what if any thing is served. No menus and no one attending to the cash register. I will me be returning. Karma is not in their favor.

I know salt is important in your diet....but it should not be the main dish:-(.........take my advice...skip this place and go across the street to Tokyo.....a little more expensive....but you can at least taste the dish......your supposed to be eating.

Great place, easy to order and food was better than I expected! Will be going back! The delivery was on time and food was hot and delicious! Very pleased

We had a great experience here. A quieter, family run business. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the staff was polite and courteous. We'll definitely try again.

Ya-chin chicken and egg roll were very good. Service was very quick. Would order take out from this restaurant again.

Worst Chinese food i have ever had in my life! They use nothing but salt. I had pepper steak, house garden special and duck food. I could barely see beef and duck in dishes. I strongly suggest not to go to this restaurant. It's wasting your money.

One star because I had to. Terrible customer service. I orderedbeef and got nothing close to beef. Called and they where rude i got so mad I threw food in trash and asked to speak to manager they refused so I showed up and they said I don't knw the difference between chicken and beef and I should dig in my trash to prove they where right.. yup that's how u treat a customer I told them I want my money back because I did not get what I ordered and I was treated with such disrespect the cook/manager told me to go dig in my trash for my refund

We waited for over half an hour for our meal. We were the only people there. My husband said his good tasted good. My son said his was to salty. My chicken was very tough and dry. We will not go back.

Chinese food lovers stay away from here! They must cook early and keep it all day. Had sweet n sour pork and it was disgusting. Must of been pulled out of the dumpster. The fried rice was spongey and had no taste i will never return again. Sorry to write such a bad review but how else will food lovers learn. Because if i would of read the reviews i wouldnt of givin this place a chance. $40 worth of food went in the garbage.
