You walk in, and there are booths along the walls, as well as larger tables in the middle surrounded by familiar banquet hall chairs. Pizzas are made on the other side of the counter. The menu is simple yet effective: it features pizzas, ravioli, and spaghetti. Cans of soda cost $1, and final checks are written by hand. There are plenty of regulars, and the staff greets many of them by name. Rubino’s is a Bexley institution. This is a cash only location Rubino’s is a strong contender for the title of King of Bexley Pizza, alongside Bexley Pizza Plus and, to a lesser extent, Anthony’s. I appreciate the style points for its longevity and old-school charm—there’s no delivery and no cardboard boxes; instead, they use ingenious folded paper tents. When I ordered by phone, they answered using what is likely their original black countertop rotary dial phone. Rubino's serves thin-crust pizza, and we always request extra cheese. The tomato-based sauce is of the traditional variety, and there are no specialty ingredients; this is strictly old school. The pizza is delicious—it's the kind of pizza that defined pizza in the U.S. back in the day. I like to order mine with extra cheese for full coverage, along with whatever toppings I'm in the mood for.

Rubino's Pizza: A Slice of Perfection and Nostalgia Rubino's Pizza delivered an absolutely awesome experience! From the moment I walked in, it was clear this place was special. Everything was perfect. The crust, oh the crust! It's incredibly thin, yet packed with flavor—a true testament to their expertise. The sauce is equally impressive, rich and robust, complementing the crust perfectly. It's worth noting that Rubino's is a cash-only establishment, so be sure to come prepared. The atmosphere is like stepping into a delightful blast from the past, adding to the unique charm of the place. If you're looking for a truly exceptional pizza experience, Rubino's is a must-try. The quality of the ingredients and the perfect execution make it a standout. Highly recommended!

This is the real italian food. Just I taste the first bite and trip to roma, pisa, napoli, capri, sicilia… Best prices! Only cash!

This place has been here for a long time. It is one of the old time Italian pizza / pasta shops in Old Bexley, and has been a survivor for good reason. The pizza crust is a unique immigrant style crust, with a delicious, thick red, rich pizza sauce. It was so good, I had to eat it in shifts over several days. I’ll be back to try the Italian sub next.

Google
Amazing pizza! We absolutely loved it! Crust is so thin and crispy throughout the whole pizza! We’ve been back multiple times and will go back again! 💯 They have an interesting way of covering the pizza in a tent structure for the to go orders. They say it keeps the pizza crispier!

Google
IMHO some of the best pizza in the WORLD! I have had almost all of the thin crust in Columbus and love almost all of it, but Rubino’s is the alone in the top tier!!! Look at the heat coming off of that pie in the window!!!! Keep it simple with excellent pepperoni! It’s crispy, but I like it well done.

Update: we decided eat at the place on friday and man it was crazy busy. The definitely could use at least 2 more people, one server and someone else to take phone orders. We were there for over 2 hrs from waiting for a table to finishing and that phone did not stop ringing. Great to see they are pumping out that kinda business. The waitress was then only one with like 11 tables. She was doing the best she could though. Everything was good! This is an old school pizza joint serving up classic style pizza. They have a really thin crispy crust, so if thats your style, this is the place for you. They have a really nice balance of cheese and sauce, so that you can actually taste the sauce. All the ingredients are freshly sliced and not canned. They do use the sliced sausage, which i find weird. They don't have a ton of options for toppings which is another bummer, however they should have enough for most people. You guys should add a double crust to showcase your dough, I'd be interested in that! Thanks guys.

Google
Mom & Pop pizza shop! Oven baked pizza - no pan, gives the thin crust a crispy crunch and dripping hot toppings. No appetizers, sides or extras. Thin and crispy pizza, pasta and a salad option. Cash only. Limited/shared tables. Friday night parking was a bit of a neighborhood walk but worth the service wait.

Yelp
This is the best pizza. I always called it pizza but I have travelled across the US and over seas, even in Italy and there is nothing like this. I have gotten good pizza but NEVER a Rubino stile pizza. I have to fly 1300 miles from Dallas Texas to get a rubinos pepperoni pizza. And that's the best world wide in my opinion. When I get back in the United States, I will have to fly to Columbus, Ohio just to get a good pizza. My last trip I had my son with me, he took one bit and said "o my god that's the best you are right dad". I told him your dad is always right. My next trip I'm going to ask for 20. Uncooked pizzas to bring back to Dallas. My only problem would be the oven. Their oven does a good job crispy the pizza with the pepperonis curling and burnt I don't think I'll ever be able to produce that in my in oven in Dallas Bo Turton formally from Bexley but stuck in Dallas

Yelp
Dined in review: Rubino's is paper thin pizza in an old school family atmosphere. Quality ingredients, fresh vegetables and zesty sauce. If you love a thin pizza, try Rubino's. Beware there may be a small wait as they are extremely busy and only accept CASH.

Simeon D.

Yelp
Too many dang restrictions on how to order a pie. Cash only, Call only, Pick-up only... I'm good

Pat S.

Yelp
Love the spaghetti They don't have a soda machine. Canned soda was 50 cents or $1. Salad dressing is homemade & delish! Good portions, bread also great. Nothing fancy

Yelp
My dad and I shared a pickle, mushroom, and extra cheese pizza and a salad and we loved them. The service was very fast. The ambiance is very old school which is nice and they are cash only.

Yelp
Rubino's is a the most consistent pizza spot and their pizza is outstanding! Staff are so friendly and take pride in their hard work. This spot is cozy with a local vibe especially being cash only!

Yelp
Pros: - Awesome staff - A variety of options - Thin, crispy dough - Delicious sauce and seasoning (we tried the Combo with Mushroom) - Reasonable prices ($21 for large pizza and large salad that could feed 3 people easily) -Supporting local (everyone knew names of regulars and their orders Cons: - Cash only - Dining room is tight (and on Saturday, no tables available around dinner time) - I wanted a little more cheese, but honestly it's a personal preference and not a criticism of the quality of the pizza My partner and I are looking forward to trying their other pizzas.

Yelp
It's been awhile since I've tried a new the crust pizza spot and love it so much. We orders one pizza and turned around and order a 2nd one. The thin crust makes this pizza light. Very delicious will recommend.

Yelp
Another birthday celebration here for our friend! The pizza was perfect Rubino's style and Service was great! This time we ordered extra sauce with onions and sausage. Very tasty Hubby enjoys the spaghetti and small salad. Their bread is always fresh and soft! Looking forward to going back to eat inside in October to celebrate my birthday!!

Yelp
I've been coming here since I was a kid growing up on South Harding Road. I hadn't been here for about 2 years and got a craving. Small, double sausage, double cheese, double pepperoni. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. Thanks Rubinos!!
google avatar

Jay P.

Yelp
Salad and 1/2 cheese-1/2 pepperoni. Rubinos is 70 years old and we go back to the 60's. The food, service is just as good 70 years ago. Thin crust pizza with extra cheese is not only nostalgic but an excellent pizza. The salad was a generous serving of lettuce pepper and olive. This place is a friendly neighborhood stop. Anyone who walks in is a "neighbor". Highly recommend.

Yelp
It's 1950s style mom & pop shop. They're old school so CA$H only! They even have a PacMan arcade game machine inside. The inside is set up like an old school diner. This pizza is so good! The lady that takes the orders is always so friendly. Sometimes there's two of them working together. They're so kind. It's best to dine-in if you don't live near by. Thin crust can get cold easily. They also offer pasta dishes & salad. They can be very busy so it's a good idea to call ahead.

Yelp
Love this pizza places it's been around for years . It's a thin crust pizza with delicious toppings ! Family owned and it's been here forever !

Yelp
Finally got down here, after driving past so many times and thinking "I need to try that." Inside, it is an old-school pizza place: mostly carryout, a few booths, nothing fancy. Very basic menu. Two sizes, limited toppings (the classics.) Two kinds of pasta. We ordered a large pepperoni, a small cheese for K, and a small sausage. Wait was reasonable. Pizza was ready when I got there. Super thin crust, great cheese, good sauce. The toppings were good- small pepperoni, and very thin slices of sausage, squared off. Never seen anything like that; tasty and works well on a thin pizza. Very good prices. Friendly service, though they were hopping. Downsides? Toppings were kinda sparse. Boxes are $1 extra, and I didn't know that till I went to the counter to pay. Hard to carry three pizzas in paper tents to the car. And the pizzas were cold by the time we got home. Spring for the boxes, mention them when you call. Not enough parking. But I went around the block and found a spot on the street. Some people were double parking, or blocking lanes. Don't do that. Maybe we'll dine in sometime, and try the pasta too. Or a sub, only available at lunch.

Yelp
Fabulous food- very reasonable - throw back to the 60s - great find- you will love it

Yelp
They have very great pizza and people are at work there are great service providers with a smile I love going there and the pizzas outstanding you would enjoy being there I would recommend it for anyone that lives here around here it's been around for since 1954 delicious

Yelp
Old school pizzeria! Excellent value. (If you want a box for the to go order, that will be $1). Whatever it takes to keep the prices low! $16.75 for a large works with mushrooms. The pizza is very tasty and features a thin crust and plenty of toppings. The only negative was waiting about ten minutes more than when I was told it would be ready. Will be back for more when in Columbus.

J H.

Yelp
Great food and fast service! I appreciate that they don't use plastic and are a cash only business.

Yelp
Fun experience trying it for the first time last night! You walk in and there are booths along the wall and some larger tables in the middle, surrounded by the familiar banquet hall chairs. Pizzas get made on the other side of the counter. Simple yet effective menu... pizzas, ravioli and spaghetti. Cans of soda are $1. Final checks are written by hand. Plenty of regulars in there... the staff greeted many by name. Had to try their famous pickle pie, along with their cheese. The meat ravioli came out piping hot fresh. It all was good! Total bill was $28.22 for 2 small pies, a meat ravioli dinner (includes an italian salad), 2 sodas and a bottle of water. Cash only. At the end of the day, I'm not a thin pizza / cracker crust gal, but if I was -- this would absolutely be the spot to get it. I just need more crust you know? But the ambiance here is worth experiencing in it of itself.
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
Excellent pizza, with mom and pop vibes. We go every time we're in town. Decided to try pickles for the first time, and for some reason it just works. House salad is no frills but the dressing is homemade.
google avatar

Tatianna S.

Yelp
My boyfriend is a lifelong Rubinos man. He always tells me about it so we finally decided to order. On Sunday they don't open until 4, so we did have to hold our hunger for a little. The two large pizzas were ready in about 20 min. As a Columbus girl, I know and love thin crust pizza. Nothing could have prepared me for how thin Rubino's is. Crazy! I loved it though. The sausage was great. Picked up a jar of ranch from Roosters to eat with the pizza, and mmmm Delicious!
google avatar

Tom E.

Yelp
Rubinos is a solid contender for the King of Bexley pizza, alongside Bexley Pizza Plus, and less likely contenders Anthony's and the local chain long shot Donatos ( I know it's not technically in Bexley, just about 100 feet across the Border in Cbus). If you give style points for longevity and old school charm (no delivery, no cardboard boxes - ingenious folded paper tents instead - and order only by phone which they answer on what is probably their original, a black countertop rotary dial model. Choice of crust: original thin or original thin Cheese: sliced not shredded and not full coverage, with gaps letting the classic tomato based sauce peek through. Specialty ingredient pizzas: uh... what? no Secret menu items: pickle pizza (cult following, yes it's awesome) The pizza is delicious. It's the kind of pizza that made pizza PIZZA in the US back in the day. Personally, I like to order mine with extra cheese for full coverage and whatever toppings I'm in the mood for.

Donald G.

Yelp
I have been coming here since I moved to Columbus in 1963. If you like thin crust pizza this is where you need to go. Always the best!

Yelp
Walking into Rubino's feels like you have traveled back in time about half a century. I landed on this little gem as I was in the Bexley area and craving some pizza. After seeing pictures of the thin crust on Yelp, I was sold. I placed a to-go order of spaghetti with meat sauce and a small combo pizza. The no-frills menu is straight to the point, with pizza toppings being pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, onions, anchovy's or mushrooms. A combo has all of the above (+/- mushrooms). After placing my order over the phone, I was told it would be ready in 10-12 minutes! Excuse me, did I hear that right? I was expecting at least 20-30, as with most standard pizza joints. On arrival, the parking lot was full so I had to park at one of the restaurants next door. As others have mentioned, they only accept cash which is kind of a bummer these days, but once you see the ancient cash register, it kind of makes sense. They have booth seating lined on the wall across from the kitchen counter. The exceptional thing about this restaurant is the price. $6 for spaghetti and $6-8 for a 10" (small) pizza. Was this the best pizza or spaghetti I've ever had -- no. But was this the best pizza and spaghetti combo I've ever gotten for $14 -- yes. I would definitely stop by again next time I find myself in the Bexley area. Rubino's -- keep on keeping on!
google avatar

Rachel K.

Yelp
Excellent Columbus style pizza! The pepperonis were little and crispy and the toppings were right to the edge. It had a nice crispy crust as well. So yummy!
google avatar

Frederick Ted W.

Yelp
Iconic thin crust pizza. MUCH BETTER to eat within ten minutes out of the old style ovens. So eat here or if you get, "To Go" order two larges and eat one before you get home and have to share.
google avatar

Shawn P.

Yelp
I've lived in the area for over 12 years and finally visited recently. Not only is the wait ridiculous when you order. They do it all by hand. So the order is screwed up for who gets served when. My 25 min wait was over an hour and 45 sitting there. Then I ordered 5 pizzas and they were handed to me in a little white paper bag. Not a box. So when I got home 10 min later they were not very warm. Was a waste and won't be back. Do better yall.
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
I grew up on Rubino's "style" so when I return it's always a treat. We order extra cheese buts that's a personal preference. Give their pickle pizza a go, it's salty in a good way. Service is very good.
google avatar

Christine M.

Yelp
We eat here about once a week. The crust is thin and crispy and the cheese is delicious! Usual order: small double cheese with pep and sausage. The cheese is light so if you like a lot, get double cheese. We also get spaghetti that comes with one meatball but we get two extra meatballs or order the meat ravioli. We've been coming here forever, decades, and it's a definite favorite! Have cash because they don't take credit cards! But it's worth it. There is a Huntington bank next door and a chase across the street. We also always get the salad, a simple Italian salad but ask for extra dressing! The owners are long time Bexley peeps and are very nice. If you come there enough times they will ask how's the family!
google avatar

Alan B.

Yelp
My best friend told us about this place and said it is the best pizza in Ohio. I love a good thin crust pizza and it lived up to the recommendation. I ordered a small pizza with sausage to go and it didn't make it home. It was great!!
google avatar

Eve R.

Yelp
Well...I will be honest. I really wanted to love this pizza because of all the years of hype. But this is not the 'za for me. TBH I am very underwhelmed but it's pizza and I ate a bunch of it, but I just didn't love it. I am not sure if I even really liked it. I was, however, very hungry. We drove to pick it up (15 min drive). It's cash only so we knew to plan ahead. We didn't know the pizzas didn't come in boxes... so it was stone cold Steve Austin by the time we got home. Not even the toaster oven could revive it properly. (Boo) But! Even not taking points off for that, the thin crust is literally like a super thin, saltless saltine cracker. It's weirdly thin. The sauce tastes pretty average and it wasn't nearly cheesy enough. The one +1 is the sausage slices are very tasty. The sausage pizza was much better than the mushroom, that's for sure. Looking back, I wish we had tried pepperoni, but oh well. Won't be going out of my way to try this again simply because it's a little too far for me and there are many more pizza options closer that I love.
google avatar

Patricia L.

Yelp
Great thin crust, pub-style pizza. Typically quick. Staff is always friendly. Great crowd of regulars. Prices are reasonable. The only downsides are tight parking and cash only. Otherwise, it is our go-to pizza spot when visiting Columbus.
google avatar

Mark O.

Yelp
Great pizza very thin cracker like crust. Downfalls are only cash no online orders. I love the pizza people. I just wish they would move forward without changing the quality of the pizza. Love this place good thing I live close. Last I heard number 11 in the top in Columbus.

Yelp
The best thin crust pizza in the country. Pickle with Sausage unique and delicious. Ambiance is perfect old school feel.

Yelp
My cousin has been wanting to try this pizza for a long time. I was in town visiting from Michigan, so we went to try it out. We walked in, not sure if we were supposed to order then sit, wait to be seated or just sit. Another customer said to sit and the server would come take our order. Ok, so we sat. Ten minutes later, watching the server pass our table without even acknowledging our presence, my cousin went up to the counter to ask if we needed to place our order up there, as the server seemed to ignore us. They took our order up there, claimed the server was extremely busy (um, no). Someone behind the counter brought our salad and drinks. About 10 minutes later, the server brought our pizza to the table, and said not a word. In fact, that was the only interaction we had with said server. She walked by our table numerous times, and appeared to deliberately ignore us. When we were finished, my cousin took our pizza up to the counter to have it wrapped and pay for our meal. I can't remember a time I have been treated so poorly as a customer. Now the pizza....my cousin said several coworkers had highly recommended the pizza here. She said they raved about it. Since I was just visiting, I relied on what she had been told. We ordered the large combo pizza. My first impression was what kind of pizza is this? No visible cheese, very thin crust, cut into squares. What? Wish I had known that cheese was extra. Coming from the Detroit area, I wasn't expecting a crust similar to a piece of poster board. Needless to say, I wasn't really impressed with the pizza. We took the remaining pizza home, added cheese, reheated it, and it was ok. In my opinion, a Little Caesars pizza was a lot better than this pizza. The next time I am in town, we will definitely be taking a hard pass on Rubino's.
google avatar

Monte R.

Yelp
Second review update after another visit. Rubino's Pizza is just the bomb. The greatest Columbus style pizza. I love everything about it - just a great place. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Kevin M.

Yelp
A simple pizza shop who does it the right way. Thin crispy crust with great sauce and delicious toppings. I had the combo with mushroom and it was absolutely amazing. My wife and daughter had a pepperoni and loved it too. We will definitely be back soon. One thing to remember is that this is a cash only business.
google avatar

Jerod B.

Yelp
First off, this is a hidden gem not really known to peeps outside of Bexley. It is old school, it is awesome and we loved it. Wifi is a no, and do we really need it while eating probably the best thin crust pizza in the metro area? No we don't. The phone line kept constantly ringing from the old dial phone, which alerted me that we are about to embark on a great pizza adventure. Simple. That's the best way to describe this place. It works, it's good, we will be back!!

Reese M.

Yelp
The pizza is so so good! I especially love the sauce they make. Their service is absolutely amazing and their waiters are always very nice and helpful. It is a popular place for a reason. I recommend this pizza place if you are a pizza and/or spaghetti lover.
google avatar

Yelp
Going to Rubino's Pizza is like going back in time. They do NOT accept anything but cash so don't rely on your credit cards. Fortunately there's a bank next door so we were able to go to the ATM beforehand! The restaurant itself is pretty small inside but we were able to get a booth. The booths are kind of tight so don't go there with a group you're not comfortable sitting close to! The decor is old school. They have old gaming machines and even a pay phone! I loved the nostalgic feel! The staff is ultra friendly! They're very speedy with the service. The food is mostly pizza but they also have subs and meatballs. Their drink menu is sparse but I saw some other folks bring their own drinks with them which is what I will do next time. Otherwise, it's styrofoam cups of water or cans of soda. The pizza is typical Ohio thin crust pizza but since I was there during the lunch hour, I opted for the meatball sub. It was delicious!! It was huge, too! And it came with chips! I would definitely order it again! They also have parking which is just another benefit when dining in this area where parking can be sparse. Rubino's is a great family establishment and I look forward to my next visit!

John B.

Yelp
There is a quirkiness about Rubino's that I detected, the moment I read their menu. Water and soda. No beer. Wow. C and I were staying over night in Columbus and had a taste for pizza. Nowadays, a lot of people tout deep dish pizza as Chicago-style pizza, but I go back decades, to when "Chicago-style pizza" was thin and crispy; exactly like Rubino's. I ordered an onion pizza, for pick-up. "Ten minutes," said the woman. Wow. It was a Saturday night, so I was surprised that the restaurant wasn't full, although it was only 30 minutes from closing. The woman who helped me was genuinely pleasant; friendly. Nice. The ambiance is .... uh. With exposed fluorescent light. Vintage. Is it romantic? I think it depends. Could be. ;) The pizza was packaged in a simple, white paper bag, rather than a box. This is good. (Having worked at a pizza place in the past, I found boxes to make the pizza soggy. That's bad.) After ripping open the bag in our hotel room, fifteen+ minutes later, we found that the pizza had cooled considerably. :( But! The pizza was still slightly warm and, most importantly, was still absolutely, completely and wonderfully crispy. OMG good. How was the sauce? Fine. The cheese? As expected. The onions? Fresh sliced; not grilled/caramelized. In an instant, Rubino's propelled me back to my childhood, in the Humbolt Park neighborhood of Chicago in the 1960's. THIS IS PIZZA! p.s. There is no doubt that I will order a ten pack to be shipped. Oh yeah.

George B.

Yelp
It was great. First time there. Read such great reviews of the pickle (!) pizza I had to try it. Wow! The reviews are right! It's fantastic. One thing to remember is it is cash only.

David O.

Yelp
Spaghetti & Meatball arrive steaming and plentiful. The sauce is quite flavorful, made " in house". My daughter ordered a med " Pep". Perfect. The wait lady couldn't have been more helpful. All on a busy Saturday night. Been to Rubino's many times over 50 yrs. Always, Always Good. David O.
google avatar

Anthony H.

Yelp
Great, Old-School pizza place. Be prepared, no delivery, cash-only pizza place from the 50's. Orders are recorded on a legal pad. Good pizza, quality toppings, although I'm not a fan of their thin crust, the crowds on Fridays and Saturdays attest to their popularity. The inside is a throwback to the pizza places of your youth. Prices are very reasonable, you should try it once if for no other reason than to get a nice blast from the past.
google avatar

Gemmy A.

Yelp
I work by Rubino's and have always wanted to try it especially based on the great reviews. I ordered a small pepperoni and my question is why was it so darn "wet"? I've never in my life had pizza that was so runny, was the sauce too much? I'm not sure but also the taste was off, it had a sour taste? Idk maybe i caught them on a bad day but I wouldn't recommend.

Bethany E.

Yelp
I tried this place back in 2005 and have been hiked ever since!! I've never had a bad experience, my food has never been late, burnt or incorrect. The have always had friendly employees and I absolutely love the atmosphere. My mouth is watering right now thinking about their spaghetti
google avatar

Charnetta G.

Yelp
Great salad!, but a little pricey for the serving size. Was a bit disappointed for the cost...
google avatar

Ann P.

Yelp
The best pizza in Columbus, hands-down. Thin crust, hot & fresh -- cheese is blend of several that are perfection! If green olives are your jam, they don't do them (sad!), but try the dill pickle topping, it is definitely interesting!
