Decided to try this place out with the family. The food had good flavor, and the environment was nice overall. Our meals came out quickly, which we appreciated. However, the service could have been better—we had to ask for straws twice and never got them until we asked the hostess. Also, it was very hot inside, which made it a bit uncomfortable while eating. That aside, the experience wasn’t bad, and we’ll probably give it another shot next time.

This was such a great breakfast! Starting with the Bloody Mary’s with bacon, they were spicy but not overpowering and great flavor. We then added some Pig Candy. (We do like our bacon!). The mix and match Bennie’s is a great idea. I had the bayou with shrimp and the Cochran with pork. Both were awesome, served on homemade biscuits, but the Bayou was over the top with the fried green tomato. My wife got the sweet heat chicken and French toast bites. Hot honey and strawberries were the perfect combination of sweet and savory. Service is always what makes a meal top notch and Angelina was great!

It was open doors which made the temperature in there a bit uncomfortable. But the eggs Benedict with the 2 choices is a great idea for someone who is indecisive. Also the bacon appetizer is worth it, I promise. Service lacked a little bit due to the restaurant being quite packed.

Great food and good atmosphere! The food here is truly spectacular, even when comparing to all the other great places to eat in New Orleans! The fact that there is almost always a line to get in speaks for itself. I liked this place so much, I went back a second time while visiting New Orleans for a few days. The atmosphere was quaint and perfect for New Orleans and the service was okay, but not great considering the volume of people that are always there. My recommendation would be to order quickly and potentially get an appetizer as you wait (like we did with the beignet's). The first time I got the Conchon Eggs which is similar to an eggs Benedict but it's served with pulled pork instead of ham (see first set of photos). The biscuits are perfectly crunchy on the exterior with a soft and fluffy middle and a great flavor. The poached eggs are perfectly poached to the point they look like small golf balls on top of the biscuit and the center flows with yolk while remaining completely in tact. The seasoning on top is perfect and not overwhelming as is the hollandaise sauce. The pork is very well seasoned and cooked to a level of softness while not being overwhelmingly chewy. The second time I went i got the same thing, but with bacon and tomatoes (see second set of photos). The bacon and tomatoes made for the perfect pairing with the biscuit, eggs, and hollandaise sauce, to the point that I would probably prefer this pairing over the pulled pork "conchon" option, but both are fantastic! I also ordered some iced coffee and a friend ordered an Irish coffee, both of which were amazing and can come with chocolate and whipped cream (see photos). Overall, I loved this place for the food and the atmosphere. The service is nothing to write home about, but the food makes it all worth it! I will definitely be back!

I almost want to lower scores a half star but the fact is its a holiday weekend, they were slammed, and according to our waiter they had a few kitchen staff call out however it looks like the expo person also wasn't doing their job correctly. Our waiter, Tom R, was friendly and attentive. We started with Chantilly pancakes, they were very good. Kids had the French Toast bites and regular French Toast and a side of bacon. Bites were a bit too crispy and regular one was "too dry", bacon was good. Wife and I shared the Trifecta Eggs Benedict, all 3 were enjoyable. Loaded tots were good but to me they were too salty. All said, I would return.

Ruby Slipper seems to be a small local chain of restaurants that serves almost any part of the New Orleans area. It was a fine establishment and I love the homie diner vibe. Diner coffee is never going to be the best cup of coffee one can drink but this was a good cup of coffee. It wasn’t burnt and they used the local brand French Truck Coffee. I just wanted a solid shrimp and grits. I wasn’t disappointed and would happily enter any of the Ruby Slipper establishments if I was craving a solid breakfast with many options.

Everything was great! The pancakes come with honey butter, fried green tomatoes (not shown) was the best ever. Like a BLT w/o bread and a honey flavored sauce was the perfect combo! Also not shown was the chicken and biscuit w gravy and fish n grits that was bomb. The boozy coffee was really flavorful w whipped cream on top!!!!

We sat at the bar, and Jinie C was a fantastic waitress/bartender. She made great recommendations, but I don't think we could have gone wrong with this menu. We had the Costa Rican Breakfast with medium egg, Shrimp & Grits, and to drink the Lavender Paloma, and Morning Margarita. Jinie C was an even better host/storyteller. She was able to handle the demanding customer next to us, make tasty cocktails, and engage in conversation at the same time. I would go back again and recommend Ruby Slipper CBD to everyone! Ask to sit at the bar with Jinie C!

Yelp
I'm not a local, and I'm sure there are other amazing brunch places in town, but I thought Ruby Slipper was really fantastic! The absolute most important thing: GET THERE EARLY. We got there at 9a on a weekday (but during a holiday week) and there was *already* a wait to sit inside. Thankfully, they have lots of seating outside (much of which is under heaters), so we were able to get seated outside immediately. By the time we left around 10:30a, there was a HUGE group of people waiting (like, easily more than 30 people) to be seated inside OR outside. They have an online waitlist that you can use as well, but your whole party has to be there to check in -- it's not a reservation. (That said -- it's a great way to check how busy they are before you leave the house!) The food was really, really good and tasty. We were particularly a fan of the eggs benedict combos (for folks who can't choose!) and the pancakes. Our waiter was lovely and when he heard that one kid wanted 2 pancakes and one wanted 1 pancake, he rang it up in such a way as we were charged for 1 pancake order (which comes with 3 pancake) and then he just brought extra plates. Aka, he made more work for himself when he could've kept his mouth shut and let us spend more. (Yes, we tipped well!) Overall, service fantastic, food fantastic (seriously, some of the best pancakes I've ever had), and the vibes outside were great! I'd absolutely come back again... as long as it was early enough to beat the crowd!

Yelp
There were so many people that told us to check out this particular breakfast brunch restaurant we just had to go! Luckily at 9 AM on a Saturday morning this place was not packed!! we decided to sit at the bar and order. I got the Fosters French toast and my hubby got the omelette with fish and grits And a biscuit! Hee. The ladies that worked behind the bar were so cute and fun! They reminded me of my aunt May who's from Georgia! They were so welcoming and sweet as well as helping us pick what to get for breakfast! I wish we went a little later in the morning because their cocktails look delicious but I've never been one to have a cocktail at 9 AM! So maybe if I went for brunch I could have some thing but goodness I definitely want to go back and get a mixed drink!! they also had flights of drinks as well and those looked delicious!!! I will definitely go back to this restaurant next time I'm in New Orleans!

Yelp
We ordered two things on the menu to go. A Benedict with shrimp, pork, and chicken, which was good; the shrimp especially was delicious and the eggs were nicely poached. The French toast was not good in terms of bang for your buck. It was about $10 and only came with three half-slices of toast that had some cinnamon on them, maybe one strawberry cut thinly, no maple syrup, nothing else. I was frankly shocked at how little came in that container, and I later saw on an online menu that it was supposed to come with bacon. The person taking my order asked me if I wanted to add bacon, so I assumed the bacon was a separate charge and said no thanks. Not sure what happened there but I would not return just because there are so many more amazing spots to eat in NOLA.

Yelp
One can't help but go on a mini food tour when visiting NOLA. We had breakfast here on our last morning in town. The place has decent space. Casual dining atmosphere. We went early around 8am on a weekday so seating was easy. Food experience was standard. I would not say out of this world. They do have most items one would expect to be eating at breakfast. It's ideal for groups as well. The portions are large and good for sharing. I got a chicken and waffles type dish with the waffles cut into small squares. The waffles were a bit dry, wish it had some moisture.
google avatar

Jazlyn R.

Yelp
Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time if you want to eat here. The wait time was less than 10 minutes which isn't bad at all. The service was ok but we're from texas where they invented southern hospitality and this ain't it. The food and coffee were good. I loved my biscuits and gravy. This is a fast paced environment and we were able to get in and out in 30 minutes.

Yelp
Wowowowow. What an amazing experience! Environment: very friendly upon entering. Spacious restaurant. Cool artwork of NOLA. Old diner type feel, but revamped. Food: Went for breakfast. Got the iced vanilla latte. I wish they had more syrups than just vanilla, but it was still yummy. Not too bitter or too sweet. Got the Benedict Trifecta. SO GOOD! It was definitely a lot for one person, but every single one was unique and delicious. My favorite was the pork one, but again they were all so good. The biscuits were fluffy. The fried chicken was heavily breaded and well seasoned. I'd happily order all three again. Service: Our server was very friendly and helpful with suggestions. The fellow waitstaff helped refill our coffee cups when we got low. Would love to come back here!

Yelp
I love this place, and was worried it wouldn't be open after the snow storm. The food here is so comforting. The staff was super nice. I sat myself at the bar and was immediately taken of. I ordered the Spiced Vanilla Latte which was delightful. Then because of the limited menu since no one has gotten deliveries since the snow storm. My meal was delicious, a southern breakfast with scrambled eggs with cheddar and potatoes instead of grits. So good. The place was pretty busy, and kind of loud, but still cozy and welcoming.

Yelp
Ruby Slipper - 200 Magazine St. During our first day in New Orleans, my husband and I stopped by the Ruby Slipper on Decatur Street for breakfast, and it was a fantastic choice! Atmosphere The restaurant has a lively and welcoming vibe, with both indoor and outdoor seating options. Despite being busy, the staff was friendly and efficient. The decor is charming, blending Southern hospitality with New Orleans flair. Food We started with the French Toast Bites as our appetizer, and oh my goodness, they were incredible! These brioche-based bites were fried to perfection, tossed in cinnamon sugar, and served with cream cheese icing and praline sauce. A must-try! For the main course, I ordered the Shrimp and Grits, and wow, this dish was amazing! Gulf shrimp sautéed with pork tasso, bell peppers, red onions, and a beer and rosemary-butter reduction, all served over creamy stone-ground grits with a fluffy and flavorful buttermilk biscuit. The biscuit was truly mouthwatering and added the perfect touch to an already incredible dish. My husband went with the Migas, a Tex-Mex egg scramble with pico de gallo and spicy chorizo sausage over crispy tortilla strips, topped with chipotle sour cream, pico de gallo, pepper jack, and cilantro, served with a side of avocado. He opted for the regular version, and it was flavorful, hearty, and satisfying. Service Our server was attentive and helpful, making great recommendations. Even though the place was packed, the service was smooth, and our food came out in a timely manner. Pro Tip If you're planning to visit during peak breakfast or brunch hours, add yourself to the waitlist through their website--it'll save you a lot of time. The place gets packed, but it's easy to see why: the food is absolutely worth it! Final Thoughts Ruby Slipper is a must-visit for breakfast or brunch in New Orleans. From the incredible French Toast Bites to the flavorful main dishes and that unforgettable buttermilk biscuit, my husband and I left with full, happy stomachs. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in town!

Yelp
The hype for this place is real ! I was nervous to come here after seeing the mixed reviews , but I've had RS on my to visit list from my first time in NOLA years ago so I figured it was worth finally checking them out. The waitlist is a must ! Do yourself a favor and add yourself to it to cut down on your wait time. We loved our meal the first time so much we came the next morning before our flight. Our favorite items were the biscuits, cinnamon bites , shrimp and grits , French toast. So good ! The staff are also sweet and efficient. I would definitely visit again when I come back to NOLA

Yelp
Our experience at Ruby Slipper was fantastic and well worth the chilly 30-minute wait. The food was simply outstanding. I had the biscuit breakfast sandwich, which was not only delicious but one of the best biscuits I've ever tasted. My wife enjoyed the buffalo chicken sandwich and son his pancakes and bacon. Pancakes like the biscuits were excellent. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the cozy atmosphere made the wait worth it. Ruby Slipper knows how to do breakfast right, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a meal to start their day right.

Yelp
It was pretty busy when we went around 10am because of a conference but the bartender took care of us as best as he could. The place was a cozy and lively brunch place and my bf and I enjoyed every part of place. We got the Trifecta and it was 10/10! The flavors of each Benny and were flavorful. Their biscuits were also toasted to perfection and contrasted well to each Benny.

Yelp
First time I came here was 5 years ago, when i was traveling solo for business. I had breakfast here three times that week. So when hubby and I were planning a long weekend in NOLA, I knew I needed to take him here. It lived up to my 5-year expectation. We got a mimosa sampler to start, then switched over to standard mimosas. Hubby got the fried chicken sandwich with tots...so good! I got the peacmaker (two types of benedict) - chicken st Charles and eggs Blackstone. I never knew I like tasso cream sauce so much until I tried this!
google avatar

Frank B.

Yelp
Found this gem on Yelp and decided to give it a try. It was packed but we were seated within 15 minutes. Service was excellent and the food was just as good. It is loud inside so prepare yourselves for that. The Trifecta is enough for two people if not three. Very tasty but our favorite was the chicken one. French toast was good as well. This place was worth the trip l.
google avatar

Troy H.

Yelp
It was 11am on a Tuesday so getting seated was quick. They were still very crowded and with so many people and music playing in the background it was loud. The bartender/barista took our order but no conversation as he was constantly busy. I ordered the Trifecta- - The Cochon , the sauce was amazing the the pork was melt in your mouth tender. - The Chicken St Charles, good sauce, the chicken a little dry. - Bayou shrimp, okay. She ordered a mix and match of the Blackstone and the Shrimp. The Blackstone had the same sauce as the Cochon, delicious. The biscuits were moist and airy. Very good. They use biscuits vice English muffins and do not have muffins if you want to substitute. Plan on waiting 30-45 minutes for your food which is a long time if you are waiting 30-45 minutes to sit as well.

Yelp
My husband and I went to Ruby Slipper for brunch on Sunday, November 3rd. It is still Halloween weekend, so the place was packed. (A lot of establishment was busy throughout the weekend because of Halloween, which made it difficult to do walk-in.) You can RSVP on their website by clicking on "Join the Waitlist." I didn't know that when I thought I could do a walk-in, which wasn't bad... 15-minute wait and they will send you a text message if you want to wander in the French quarter. FOOD: The food was delicious and flavorful. We ordered French toast bites to share. It has the right amount of sweetness. My husband ordered biscuit and gravy. I ordered shrimp and grits. No concerns about the food. It was delicious and prepared well. SERVICE: It was busy, but our waitress checked in on us multiple times for drinks, obtained our meal order, checked in how we like our food, and bill. They did run out straws when I asked - I have sensitive teeth and was not going to drink the given ice water without a straw, but later the waitress brought one. AMBIANCE: The place is casual dress. Busy at the time. Seating seems tight due to space.
google avatar

Jermaine E.

Yelp
One of New Orleans's staples that I think you may want to consider. Ambiance: Having multiple locations that are walking distance from each other that are both packed for service. In addition, the music was a little loud for a normal conversation which made the customers talk louder to try to talk over the music. Service: Mix feelings about service as my waiter was helpful for the most part but a little hectic due to mass of people. In addition, it was more helpful to take your order and pay your bill but wanting service during your meal was a little hit and miss. Food: The food was really good. I order some orange juice, but it was not mentioned on the menu. In addition, I order an appetizer, unfortunately it came out the same time as my entree. Everything was cooked to order. However, in my opinion, the grits could have been a little less clumpy with it could have been a little bit smoother. Overall: I would recommend checking this place out and see what you think for a nice breakfast/brunch meal. Prepare to have a little bit of wait and seating can be a little limited. Hope they continue their success.

Yelp
In half a dozen trips to NOLA, the line at Ruby Slipper has always been too long and I've opted to eat elsewhere each time. I don't know how I got so lucky last Sunday to get right in without a wait, especially conservative it was Taylor Swift weekend. The Ruby Slipper is in its Brunch Era, and I celebrated by trying all the French toast and most of the bacon. Everything was quick, hot, and delicious. Don't sleep on the Sweet Heat Chicken & French Toast Bites! Now that I know how fabulous the food is, I might be more willing to wait in a line next time I'm in town!
google avatar

Hunter K.

Yelp
Wowzers. Dodged the wait by arriving for brunch early enough and it was still a full house. They did not offer ranch which shocked me, but I didn't end up needing any at all for the debris tots which were unbelievable, up there with my top 3 fav food orders while visiting NOLA. Service was great. Place was a busy loud bustling brunch spot which normally has a line out the door. Loved their menu selections and would definitely revisit if I'm ever in town again.
google avatar

Damien F.

Yelp
Absolutely AMAZING! Go here, you will not be disappointed. We went at 8am and got seated right away during the 2nd day of the Taylor Swift concert. Started off with a flight of mimosas and the Blueberry Lavender was definitely the favorite of the 4. We asked for a recommendation and immediately we were told to order the special....which was Sweet Heat Crispy Brussel Sprouts with Fried Chicken, Bacon Onion Jam over cheesy grits! OMFG! This was insanely good! We also ordered St Charles Chicken Eggs Bendict over biscuits which was also amazing. The sauce they put on the eggs Benedict is incredible, I could just drink it. Highly recommend this place!!! 5 stars!!!
google avatar

Yelp
This is so my go to spot for breakfast. Al fresco dining while watching French Quarters awakening with the smell of fresh hot coffee. Awaiting a full platter of goodies.

Yelp
Was really looking forward to having breakfast here but it was a TOTAL let down unfortunately. They were "out of" smoked salmon... so I couldn't even get what I initially came here for. Service was so-so. Food was overpriced and bland. I seriously paid $5 for like 8 tater tots and $13 for the "Migas" which was basically 1 egg on top of soggy corn chip strips, some less than desirable "spicy" chorizo sausage, pico and half of an avocado. The chorizo was not spicy at all but it did definitely taste like it was burnt before going into the gravy. The only thing that had flavor was was the pico. Everything else was definitely under seasoned and the corn chips on the bottom makes NO sense. For what I received it was definitely over priced and totally unsatisfying. The place is quite small. Atmosphere was not very pleasant, had 2 different YOUNG kids in there being cranky ruining everyone's breakfast / brunch. If you're still on the fence... PASS. You're better off grabbing a breakfast burrito somewhere.
google avatar

Michael F.

Yelp
Excellent service and unforgettable breakfast choices! I ordered the catfish and grits on two separate occasions while I was in town for 4 days, it was that good! Clean, tender fried catfish on top of the creamiest grits with a topper of taso cream sauce. It was love at first bite! They gave a great looking selection of benedicts and omelettes as well as brunch cocktails if you prefer. I will be dreaming of this dish until next time I'm in the area!
google avatar

Danielle G.

Yelp
Really cute place. I recommend getting on the waitlist before you go. We had the Southern BLT and the Southern Breakfast sandwich on a biscuit...which was huge.
google avatar

Jacqueline D.

Yelp
The food was just ok to me. Not sure what the hype or long lines are for? My friend and I got the mix and match benedicts and it was good but not that good. The beignets as well were good but not mind blowing! If you are out of town I would visit only if you run out of places to eat.
google avatar

Patrick Z.

Yelp
I was in town for a work conference and came the weekend prior to get to know NOLA a bit. I stopped by the Ruby Slipper for brunch on the way to the Browns/Saints game. What a great stop! The bloody marys were super flavorful, had just the right amount of spice, and you can take one to go! Since I was there solo, I sat at the bar. It was lively and interactive. The bartender was chatty and got the customers to chat along with her. I ordered the shrimp and grits, but got the catfish and grits on accident. I found the catfish to be a little overly breaded and a bit overcooked but the grits were creamy and delightful. The bacon was crispy and delicious as well. I'd head back to the Ruby Slipper again next time I'm in NOLA.

Yelp
Context: We were in New Orleans with friends for a quick weekend trip in January 2024. Our friends wanted a brunch spot and this is one of the more popular joints to hit up while in NOLA. There was a line out the door so we had to wait for like 20 minutes to get a table but if there is a line out the door, it has to be pretty good, right? Food and drink: The food here is soul food cooked with love and plenty of calories, just the way I like it. I was at first going to get shrimp and grits but then I settled on the white chocolate bread pudding pancakes (how could I resist?) and my wife went with the biscuits and sausage gravy breakfast platter. My pancakes were awesome, very rich and decadent but not overpoweringly sweet, they struck a good balance (and no, syrup is not needed with these). My wife's southern gravy was exactly like it should be, thick and meaty with a great smoky flavor and texture. Coffee was NOLA strong, just the way I like it, but I also had to get a cocktail while here because that is what you do in New Orleans, you booze during brunch. My wife and I shared the mimosa sampler and it was just OK. Honestly, the presentation was a bit subpar and the taste of all four were too syrupy - we didn't really land on one we liked. Oh well. Service: Super-fast, friendly, and efficient. Our waitress seemed a bit rushed and it showed through on how she interacted with us but the place was really busy. We just wished she could have been a little more hospitable to our group. Price: Prices were not bad vs the amount of food you got with your meal. Portions were just right and you didn't leave hungry at all. My consensus: This is a great brunch spot to visit while in NOLA. There is a line out the door and I now know why. Great breakfast food with the option of boozy coffee and drinks. A win/win for me.
google avatar

Missy F.

Yelp
Customer service was just ok. Although she was nice, she disappeared in the back for a while. It was not crowded (only 1 other table) and around 8:30 in the morning. It took forever to get her to bring our check. Although I enjoyed the fried green tomatoes, something was off about those shrimp and grits. They appeared very oily, and they tasted the same. I know this is a popular chain in New Orleans, but I wasn't a fan.

Yelp
Whirlwind - last Minute trip we were in New Orleans for the weekend! Staying closer to the business district, we were looking for a place to have breakfast! Well with the amount of reviews, we were like - this is it! We have to check it out!! Ruby Slipper here we come! Walking about 5 blocks, we arrived and it was so funny, from a block away we could see the line with groups of people standing outside! We were dreading the wait, but thought, hey... we're in no rush. To our surprise it was only a 10 minute wait. Quickly scanning the restaurant, it's located on a somewhat quiet corner street. Tables and chairs are available inside and outside, inside is a center bar area. Bar tables for 2 on the left. Booths and regular tables on the right. Angelette was our server and she was on point! Drinks were ordered promptly. We knew what we wanted and so we were set!! We ordered: Beignets Banana fosters french toast Souther Breakfast Pride takes flight mimosas Coffee Water Food was delicious and very filling. All in all, I loved the vibe at Ruby Slipper And would recommend if ur exploring New Orleans!
google avatar

Kerry M.

Yelp
Food was delicious! Came out fast and hot! Enjoyed the mimosas.. Will definitely come back!!

Yelp
Sat at the bar. Bartender didn't want to. Be there and it showed. Gave me a menu and asked what I wanted to drink. Coffee and water. Never checked back until he took my order. Never checked back again. Got someone else to fill my coffee. Just ordered scrambled eggs and bacon. Eggs were spooned out of a buffet tray. They still looked like an ice cream scoop. Bacon was good. Probably won't go back
google avatar

Karson O.

Yelp
Overall: This place gets a lot of hype, but maybe that's a bit overdone. Everything was decent but the only thing we had that was exceptional were the benedicts. It was an overall good experience, but I would probably try a few other breakfast/brunch places before going back. Food: 4 Drinks: 3 Service: 3 Value: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Food: We ordered the biscuits and gravy with fried chicken and the mix & match Benedicts. The benedicts were the Cochon and shrimp. The Benedicts were the highlight, with great combinations of flavors and cool ingredients. The biscuits were just alright and the chicken was a little disappointing since it just showed up on a plate and wasn't incorporated in the dish at all. Drinks: I got a Bloody Mary and we each had a coffee. The coffees were fine but nothing special. The Bloody Mary was a bit disappointing considering they claim it as a specialty. I thought it was just average. Service: Our server was very friendly, though sometimes a bit slow. Our drinks were delayed and it took a while to even get waters to the table. Value: All in, the total came to $73 for two entrees, two coffees, and the Bloody Mary. Pretty pricey for breakfast foods. The meals were large, but a little disappointed in how expensive it was. Atmosphere: The inside of the restaurant looked fun, but we were seated outside. It was a nice day, but we were still seated right next to traffic with an umbrella that didn't actually cover us and several bees that were constantly buzzing around the table.

Yelp
We love brunch and Ruby Slipper has the reviews to prove it's a must stop. We enjoyed the eggs Benedict mix between the bacon and fried chicken. Wife had the biscuits and gravy. She enjoyed it but it's a lot of food - come hungry. Enjoyed their lattes, both iced and hot.

Yelp
We needed a restaurant that had gluten-free options for my wife to enjoy breakfast, and she found it in the Ruby Slipper. She had options to choose between their omelets and their shrimp and grits. I went for their Trifecta of Benedicts, which (wasn't gluten-free, but I knew this) sent me into a food coma, but it was worth it. Located on Magazine Street in NOLA's Central Business District, Ruby Slipper is a happening place for brunch whose motto is "Life is brunch beyond." If you can grab a table inside, it's a very bright and lively atmosphere. They also offer outdoor seating on Magazine Street. We had an initial order of pig candy bacon bites, which are essentially broken-off pieces of candied bacon. While the presentation wasn't great, it was still pretty tasty. And it's bacon. Candied bacon. Their bacon bloody marys are pretty good there, while their Trifecta of Benedicts will leave you with leftovers unless you are a competitive eater. All of them are solid, with the Chicken Saint Charles being my favorite of the three.

Yelp
Probably one of the worst eggs Benedict I've had in my life. Fried tomato on top tastes like it's been sitting in a fryer for days. Hollandaise was not hollandaise. Biscuit was alright...eggs were tiny as you can see in the pic. Salad was good..but it was a few greens with dressing Service was no good. Got there at 750 and made an order within a few minutes. Food came 2 minutes later and I picked through it. Was out by 812. Server put the receipt on my table while I was eating and walked away. Table was wet when they sat me down.

Yelp
Tom our waiter was fantastic. He was friendly and very accommodating. Every single thing on the plate was flawless. I added some gravy to go with the biscuit and that gravy was amazing. I'm a good cook and there are certain things I am overly critical about and biscuits and gravy is one. This place holds its own with ease.

Yelp
The Ruby Slipper is a must for breakfast or brunch while in New Orleans. Be prepared to stand in line on the weekends. I got lucky and was able to sit at the bar without having to wait. I ordered the Bananas Foster French Toast and bacon. The French toast was delicious and so satisfying. The bar tender was great he made sure I was okay while making every drink in the restaurant. The menu offers a lot of options so there's something for everyone. The restaurant is a fun vibe great for a group of friends!

Fantastic food and fast friendly service. A must try place when visiting New Orleans. Could have long waits , but worth it.

Yelp
While visiting the area for a conference, we decided to try the Ruby Slipper. We were told this was one of the best brunch places in NOLA. We joined the online wait list at 10:40am on a Sunday morning with a wait around time maximum of 55 minutes. We arrived at the restaurant and checked in with the hostess at 11:15am. We were not seated until 11:55am after numerous lies from the host staff stating they will seat our party next after watching multiple parties be seated both inside and outside. This was the first inclination that the service was not representative of the best brunch place in NOLA. Our waitress was initially very quick to place our drink and food order in one quick stop. Our food came shortly after. I ordered the biscuit and gravy with scrambled eggs and bacon. Nothing to really write home about, personally. However, multiple food items were missing from the party requiring us to wait over 15 minutes for our waitress to come to our table. We even asked two other servers if they could find her for us. She did eventually visit our table with an attitude when we asked for a few things. Unfortunately, a few in the party had to eat cold brunch due to our waitress failing to check in on us until 20 minutes after getting our food. Overall, the winner for the best worst service in NOLA! Multiple service staff members just running in the street playing and yelling with each other. Unprofessional. Very disappointing experience. Our experience did not match with reviews we had so hoped to experience ourselves. Would not recommend.

Yelp
i only tried the white chocolate cinnamon pancakes (loved it!) and the trifecta (three kinds of egg benedict). recommend splitting these if u wanted something sweet and savory !! my friend thought the applebacon sandwich was alright. and my other friend liked the fried chicken and french toast but wished it was less greasy and oily. loved the friendly and attentive staff. a solid place for brunch in nola!

Yelp
A fine Southern Biscuits & Gravy with beautifully cooked bacon and grits, what is there not to love! Ruby Slipper always delivers!

Yelp
I was told by several of my friends to make sure I made my way to Ruby Slipper for brunch. Well....I did. The food was good & the people so nice, that I went twice! The atmosphere was very busy & a little loud, but this did not detract from my experience. Our waiter, Tommy was very friendly & polite despite the mad rush. On both occasions I had the PeaceMaker Bennies (Chicken St. Charles & Bayou Shrimp). I was a little hesitant at first because of the combination of ingredients but they both were amazingly delicious!! The fried green tomato & pork Tasso/Creole sauce really brought out the flavors. Along with the incredible brunch Bennies, I tried out the beignets & the watermelon margarita. They too were absolutely amazing! Although considered by many to be a tourist trap, I encourage you to dine at Ruby Slipped when in NOLA!

Yelp
There appears to be a Ruby Slipper on every corner in New Orleans. We were staying nearby and took an early morning walk to their location on Magazine St. Surprisingly there were only a few other early birds there. Later that morning there was a throng of hangry folks waiting for brunch. For breakfast, their made-from-scratch biscuits and gravy is a must. The applewood bacon topper is a wonderful addition. I'm not a Hollandaise guy but they do it right here and my request for my eggs served over easy was accommodated. Don't judge but we were easily tempted to have a morning eye-opener and their Irish coffee got the day going just fine. There are several other fine eye-openers including their version of a bloody Maria (next time). Pro tip: Go early or join their waitlist and if you are waiting in line you can order one of their fine adult beverages while you wait.

Yelp
We came here on a weekday morning for breakfast. One thing to note is that there is a long wait for this so I highly recommend joining the waitlist ahead of time and then checking in person (for context, ee were on the waitlist for almost 1 hour before we were seated). We ordered: - Sweet Heat Chicken and French Toast Bites - Delicious! It was a sweet spiciness that tasted really good together! - Chicken St. Charles - They offered alternatives to the bacon sauce on the Benedict upon request. It was good - I think the alternative to the bacon sauce was not a great combination with the Benedicts and biscuits, but my friend ordered it with the bacon sauce and loved it. Overall, I liked the food and will be to check it out again if I'm in the area!

Yelp
Very touristy, but keeps its promise as a great place for brunch! The service was familial with refills aplenty! Get yourself a flight of mimosas and settle in. I got the shrimp and grits- SO DANG GOOD!! The perfect meal after a crazy night on Bourbon street. The biscuits meet the NOLA standard of delicious. Spread some butter and fresh preserves on as a perfect starter or dessert. Accommodating for our group of 10, reasonable prices (cheaper than most), so make a reservation and go here!

Yelp
The wait was definitely long, but it's no surprise given how busy this place gets for brunch and lunch! I chose the Peacemaker because I couldn't pick between their two top Benedicts. I went with the Chicken St. Charles and Eggs Cochon combo, and both were packed with savory, flavorful goodness! The mimosas were also fantastic. Plus, our server was incredibly friendly and sweet!

Yelp
BEST SERVICE IN ALL OF NOLA Our food could've been awful and the service would've made the whole experience! BUT the food was fantastic! The beignets with the strawberries and chantilly cream were so delicious and worth another trip just for dessert. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. The menu is diverse enough for even the pickiest eater. If you haven't already put this establishment on your "must eats in NOLA" list, consider this your sign!
