Wow, what a pleasant surprise! I found Rudy's via yelp and got a little lost looking for it. My GPS told me I passed it, but I didn't see it. So we looped back around and that's when I saw the sign at the gas station! No judgement!
There's a few places for seating, but that's okay. We were greeted and made aware what proteins were left for the day. Lengua, Cabeza, Pastor, Pollo, Carne Asada; there were so many that I can't remember!
Not pictured, but at the table, a variety of different tacos, Gorditas, and everyone got a side of rice and beans. So.. I love rice and beans, but I REALLY LOVE The rice and beans here. The rice was light, but still somehow packed a lot of flavor. It wasn't overwhelming to the rest of my plate AT ALL. The beans were pretty much the same for me. I loved them.
Moving on to my burritos, they're personal sized; not like the way we Americanized burritos. But still a decent size. It's on a fresh flour tortilla, that's a little thicker than what I expected. The thickness of pita? But so soft and flaky, freshly "toasted." Pictured is the pastor, which was so soft. I had a few good chunks of pineapple in there. And of course lots of cilantro and onions!
Overall, please visit Rudy's. Sit down, take out, whatever. You know when the food is so good, no one talks? That was us. Everything was perfectly seasoned and fresh! Throw some salsa on it (it's got a kick), and Rudy's will deliver!
