This place is such a cute little spot and I am so glad we decided to try it. From the moment we walked in, the vibe just felt right. It has that cozy and welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to stay a while. The décor is really nice, the lighting is warm, and the music fits perfectly without being too loud. The food was honestly so good. Everything we ordered had great flavor and tasted fresh. You can tell they actually care about what they are serving. The appetizers were delicious, and the main dishes were cooked just right. The drinks were also really impressive, both in how they looked and how they tasted. The staff was super friendly and made the whole experience even better. They checked in often enough to make sure we had what we needed but never made us feel rushed. It really felt like they wanted us to enjoy ourselves. We have not been back yet, but we definitely plan to. I still recommend this spot to friends who visit from out of town. If you are looking for good food, good drinks, and a chill atmosphere, give this place a try. You will not regret it.

So many amazing delicious choices. The food is out of this world, bursting with flavor. Many healthy paleo and keto options too that don’t sacrifice tastiness. The environment and decor is also tasteful and exquisite. Staff is wonderful. Gabriel, our waiter, was awesome, attentive and helpful. 10000% recommend. It’s one of my new favorite spots.

We had the best time. Such a romantic and amazing restaurant! Food was freaking phenomenal. The menu has the most amazing concoctions. I had lamb stroganoff and my fiancé had ribeye. We might move to Houston for this place alone lol! Simon was our server and he was amazing. He had the best product and menu knowledge and we cannot wait to come back!

Ruggles Black is a good atmosphere-based place! The food is absolutely delicious and even though the prices are a bit above average, the quality of the food is absolutely worth it. We got the Goat Cheese stuffed Chicken, and that was absolutely DELICIOUS! The pizza was also really good, and the Butter Chicken Pasta was a mix between curry style and Italian. Overall, this place is highly recommended for a nice dinner night out, and we honestly enjoyed it A LOT. Will definitely be back!

Enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Ruggles Black. The staff from the reception desk (Huma) to the wait staff were very friendly. We ordered from the Houston Restaurant Week menu and enjoyed every selection. We had Brussel sprouts, house salad, Chicken Parmesan, Keto Pepperoni Pizzas, desserts, and absolutely delicious drinks! You have to treat yourself to the wonderful atmosphere of Ruggles Black. Enjoy ;)

From greeting to goodbye, they were attentive without hovering — you can tell they genuinely care about your experience. Now, the food. Every dish felt like it was made with intention. The flavors were layered and balanced, and the presentation was on point. You can taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients in every bite. My personal favorite was the [oyster caviar and butter chicken pasta], but honestly, everything I tried was excellent. Drinks were well-crafted, and the pacing between courses was just right. You can tell this restaurant takes pride in its craft. If you’re looking for a place where good energy, great food, and genuine hospitality meet — this is it. I’ll definitely be back.

Ruggles Black is one of our favorite restaurants in Houston for guilt-free, gluten-free options. It’s our go-to spot for date night because the food is always fresh, flavorful, and unique. Chef Bruce, the owner, is the best. Sometimes, he comes by to say hi, and to make sure you’re having a great experience, which makes the whole evening feel so welcoming and friendly. The salmon avocado tower is a must-try, and the gluten-free empanadas are amazing. This is a place we’ll keep coming back to.

An elevated dining experience, that invites the paleo and gluten free community to enjoy an elegant meal with perfect execution. The environment is stunning, cocktails are carb conscience & it’s an intelligent and forward thinking menu. Antonio is delightful and was a significant part of the experience. Owner visited the table to receive a compliment, the pleasure was all mine.
