"A Houston restaurant owned by chef-restaurateur Bruce Molzan has been at the center of recent legal turmoil: Molzan was arrested on April 4 and booked the following day on two counts of indecency with a child, paid $10,000 bond for each charge on April 6, and was released ahead of arraignment. At a hearing he was accused of sexually assaulting two children under 17, allegations his attorney Joel Androphy has denied, calling them false complaints filed to gain leverage in a child custody dispute and saying they expect the grand jury will decline to indict. The owner was previously implicated in a seafood-smuggling investigation by the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department that led to more than 200 Class C misdemeanor citations, and he filed a 2017 lawsuit alleging assault by his ex-wife’s new husband (litigation still pending). A judge has barred him from internet and cell-phone use but permitted him to travel to and from the restaurant to work." - Amy McCarthy
