Yelp
Miami has so many restaurants and bars but lacks of more wine bar offerings.
As a wine enthusiast myself, I'm always down to try new wine places. Ruka Winewood has been on my radar for a while and I recently found out they have happy hours between 6-9pm, so what a better opportunity to give it a try. For a Wednesday night, they had a fair number of customers.
I sampled their happy hour red blend pour. It was mid body, somewhat complex but low on tannins which allowed for easy and smooth drinking. The fruit content was moderate. It was the perfect wine for an early night, to sip and hang out with friends. I pretty much enjoyed the two glasses I had.
Service was not the best to be honest. During the 1 hour I was there, no one checked on me. No one asked me if I wanted more wine, water or another pizza, etc.
I was hopping to have their charcuterie board paired with wine, but they had no charcuterie. I asked for the pizza options and hey only had one out of the 3 options on the menu, only the cheese pizza.
The pizza is not the best looking pizza, but it tasted delicious. The cheese was sort of smokey, that was delish. I would have that pizza again.
Summarizing, I'm coming back pretty soon for their red wine, at $5/glass, you can't beat that up, specially when it is such high quality. I hope they have the charcuterie next time.
