Rum Room Miami Beach

Every once is a while you are having a bad day, and it will be the food and the drinks that will get you out of the hole. This was the case with the Rum Room! The service was excellent, the drinks were delicious, and the food was tasty. 10/10 will be visiting again

What a great find just a short walk from the Miami Beach Convention Center! Perfect place to grab a bite after a long day on the tradeshow floor. William deserves all the stars for being very attentive to the special dietary requirements of some of our guests.

Amazing experience at Rum Room! I didn’t know about the restaurant until Miami Spice and I am so glad I went. The Miami Spice menu is insane, and everything we tried was delicious. Our most surprising dish was the smoked fish dip; I did not expect it to be that good. Honestly, everything was absolutely delicious and really elevated. The ambiance was intimate and classy. The night we went they had a live performer that was great. Our server was incredible! Dinesh did an outstanding job, exceeding all our expectations of quality service. Really excited to go back for happy hour and perhaps again before Miami Spice ends.

Didn't even know it was there, just happened to walk by and decided to pop in - what an unexpected delight! The food was excellent (the ropa vieja empanadas were meaty and filling), and the happy hour prices are unbeatable. Our server was incredibly friendly, really enjoyed just chatting with him. The decor really captures both modern outside and "Old Florida" inside, with plenty of patio doors, giving it an airy indoor-outdoor flow. Apparently there's live music on Fridays from 5:00/6:00-7:00/8:00, so we'll definitely be back.

I had an amazing experience here. First time of many, for sure! We had the Cesar Salad (not very classic, def upgraded and better than original), croquettes, Shrimp al Ajillo, Shrimp and Papaya salad (super fresh and fulfilling) and Caipirinha as our drinks. And last, but not least: the Coffee Bean Lava Cake was to die for. Usually I don’t order deserts, but this one is 100% worth it. The food is delicious and the service was kind and fast.

I'm a local and have my favorites around my Collins Park neighborhood but I must say that Rum Room has quickly made its way up to #1. It's got a cool vibe and the staff is just incredible. Anton is one of the best bartenders in Miami Beach IMO. Very creative and very attentive. The food is first class!!! As another reviewer pointed out it's a little of the beaten path but that's a welcome change to the sometimes hectic bars and restaurants over on Collins or elsewhere. Thanks to GM Mitch for always making us feel welcome. Cheers!!!

We stopped in for a happy hour cocktail to check out this new place. Absolutely love it everyone was so nice the atmosphere is great. They had live music and the best old-fashioned I have had in South Beach! Can't wait to come back and try the ribeye. The building has a rich history right on Collins Canal. The location is great as there aren't a lot of places to choose from nearby.

This restaurant is amazing! We had the bread and octopus for starters, the burger and sandwich for our mains and the pineapple upside down cake for dessert. Everything was flavourful and delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant and I would go here again if I'm in Miami in the future.

Cute little restaurant we found to go to on our way to a concert at the Fillmore. Part  of Miami Spice and had a great prix fixe menu to choose from for $45 that included app, entree, dessert. The service was excellent. They had a great craft cocktail menu and tasty original drinks... Our food all tasted great and everything was seasoned perfectly... The only complaint I had, which is a pretty big deal to me if I'm eating a steak, was the temperature of my steak...I'm surprised it wasn't for the chef, tbh... I requested my steak to be medium rare and received it well done.. I did advise the waitress and received an apology and just ate it. Again, it was beautifully seasoned and we were needing to get to our concert.

Absolutely fantastic! Our experience at the Rum Room in Miami, right by the Miami Beach Convention Center, was nothing short of extraordinary. The food? Simply phenomenal! We were so impressed that we dined there every single night of our stay. We indulged in the Maduros Rellenos (twice!), the mouthwatering Rum Room Cuban sandwich, the delicious turkey club, the irresistible truffle and Parmesan fries with spicy guava ketchup, and the incredibly fresh Florida Snapper Escabeche. Every dish was a masterpiece, bursting with flavor and culinary excellence. And the desserts? The Malibu flancocho and booze-y ice cream were to die for! If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and visit the Rum Room. You will NOT be disappointed. A huge shoutout to their exceptional staff, especially Denish! He was our server each night and made us feel like family with his warm, attentive service. Denish is an absolute gem and a big part of why our experience was so memorable. Don't miss out on this hidden gem in Miami - it's a must-visit!

Wow! So impressed with this place! Definitely a great addition to the Miami Beach area. It's away from the craziness of the beach, has a parking garage right in front ($10 with validation), and best of all has incredible food, drinks, and wonderful service. The bartender Anton was amazing he made us off menu drinks to our liking and they were all incredible! Let him make you a fun drink, you'll love his creations. The service was fantastic, the waiter, the manager, the food runners, the chef were all so kind and helpful. Now let's talk about the main event the food. We truly loved everything we tried. Here's what we got: - Maduro Bread - such a unique flavor combination, loved the butter - Wild Fish Crudo - fresh and a great sauce - Caribbean Caesar Salad - don't sleep on this one this is a GOOD Caesar - Pan con bistec - this is not your typical pan con bistec it's a gourmet version with high quality beef. Delicious. - Corn - this was like a corn off the cob that was amazing. Can't wait to go back and try more!

Portrayed as an upscale Cuban food vibe place but it's not more than a few tables with very limited options for food. The drinks were ok but this place is more to come get a drink, converse, and get out. With all the choices around this place for me would be more of a straight bar than anything else. It's quaint. You can stop by if no other choices but 3 stars here is just right.

Such a hidden gem! My favorite cocktail during my weekend in Miami Beach was from Rum Room, but I can't remember what it was called as the mixologist told us it was new to the menu. It was made with Mezcal and had a smoked Tajin rim. The fish dip nachos were delicious and great to share as was the Caribbean Caesar salad. Our table of 5 shared a bunch of different plates and loved it all. Plus the entire staff was friendly.

This was the best restaurant we have visited this trip to Miami. It was a historic site ,and it was a really cool place . Had a great history. The staff was friendly ,and our server was the best. When I spilled water on my sister she was so kind and the whole staff came over to assist. . Her service was perfect, she kept the water and food coming. The food was fantastic. We tried the prawns and the steak , both were wonderful. We highly recommend this place if you are in Miami. The ambience was warm and inviting. Oh and get the empanadas, they are to die for and the sauces the bomb!

I'm a local. I'm COMIN' BACK!!! GREAT if your at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Not crowded. PERFECT!! Right by its lonesome corner off of Washington Ave, just before you reach Dade Blvd (Northern corner of Miami Beach Convention). This a place that Pirate's of the Carribean's Captain Jack Sparrow, Hector Barbosa and Will Turner would have enjoyed back in their day. GREAT Ambience GREAT FULL BAR and GREAT Food LIVE MUSIC Mitch "Mitchell" the General Manager, is a Captain in his own right. GREAT ATTITUDE. He has the place looking GREAT, clean with a ... GREAT Staff He gave me and my partner a tour of the entire place, even the event room. Definitely coming back. Bringing my wife.

absolutely loved it! went there at 5pm Friday night. They had happy hour prices. Wow- their cocktails were great. also Soups and appetizers were very good. Chef walked to our table and did show us their own herbal garden in the back where they get all their fresh herbs. Amazing. Price was great, service great. Loved every minute of it.

I hosted my husband's 40th birthday party here last weekend and it was absolutely amazing. The staff did cater to our every need. Justin and Thalia there is not enough to say on how they helped me arrange this dinner. The food was so good, and all of my guest enjoyed themselves. If you are looking for a spot for a date, dinner or just a small get together, go to the Rum Room!

The Rum Room has such an incredible vibe. There's such a unique decor and design to the atmosphere. I loved their chimichurri skirt steak and the shrimp and papaya salad but it was the pineapple upside down cake that made my day. I've never had a pineapple upside down cake as fantastic as this one. I make it a habit to jot down places with great dessert and I'll definitely be back here for more, often.

Amazing food and drinks!! Awesome service as well! We went in with high expectations given the fact that the place is very well reviewed and it was still much better than we were expecting!

Excellent service and magnificent food! The staff pays attention to details and to the customers during the time spent at the Rum Room. The food is delicious, I had the snapper escabeche with coconut rice. I highly recommend it.

Had a wonderful dinner experience at Rum Room on a rainy Saturday night. We were immediately greeted upon entering the restaurant by the bar staff and the General Manager Mitch. They made sure that we were comfortably seated and told us a little bit about the restaurant before we were then attended by our server. In case you are not aware, the Chef behind the Rum Room is Chef Samantha Cruz, who recently won the Food Network cooking competition show, "Beachside Brawl". Fresh off her win, where she represented the 305 to the fullest, Chef Cruz has put together a delicious menu that highlights all of her influences growing up in Miami. From the fish dip nachos to the fish done in a paella style with couscous, Chef Cruz hits it out of the park with her carefully crafted dishes. Our server told us that her menu was years in the making, and you can really tell that she put a lot of thought into the menu. Some other standout items were the croquetas, the pan con bistec and the chimichurri steak. And, of course, not to be left out, the menu also consists of mouth watering desserts, including the Pineapple Upside-Down Cake and the espresso tres leches, that are just as tasty as they look. All the dishes are designed to be perfectly paired with the rum based cocktails that are curated by a team of mixologists that nailed all of the drinks that they prepared for us, including a Caipirinha, a Rum Room Negroni, and The Old Cuban, which is a refreshing rum drink that is made with Prosecco. And to make the evening extra special, Chef Cruz took time out her busy evening to meet me and my wife and take photos with us. She was very welcoming and made us feel like we had known her for years. Chef Cruz, Mitch, and The Rum Room staff, thank you for making our Saturday night special. We will definitely be back and highly recommend to everyone stop by your restaurant to have a meal and some cocktails.

Wonderful new restaurant, the "Rum Room" at 2100 Washington (next to the historic Carl Fisher Clubhouse). Executive Chef Samantha Cruz is terrific (won top prize on the Food Network "Beachside Brawl"). Great food, service, and ambiance. Plus they are part of "Miami Spice".

Philly Philly was here at this lovely and amazing place plus the people down to the sever the bar tender and owner was Breathtaking on everything that they did. First spot I went to and just was welcomed with open arms and you really could feel the love .I loved everything about this place and will go back over and over again .So if your in town or just walking pass or whatever stop in and your see for yourself the love that is giving out ...

We went and were the only ones there. I had a business colleague with us and got worried. No attitude not rushed. Delicious food, excellent presentation, fantastic service. Well worth going..... and I'm not easily impressed.

We stumbled across this gem! So happy we did!! The space was very cool and had private cigar lounge vibe. The food was phenomenal! Everything was seasoned to perfection, with unique flavor combinations that complimented each other PERFECTLY! To top it off the service was EXCELLENT which is an even rarer find than exceptional food!! By far my best meal and experience in Miami! I can't wait to go back again, and again!!!! Run to the rum room now! I'm confident that soon there will be a long waitlist for this place!!

Rum Room is a hidden gem in SoBe. Don't let the MB Convention Center location scare you away. The vintage building is beautiful, the service exceptional, drinks are delicious and food is A+. I loved every part of the experience and they had the best selection of rums vs every other local bar. Honestly the cocktails and ham croquettes are better than Cafe La Trova in Calle Ocho and to me that's the best Cuban food in Miami. It's nice to not have to leave Miami Beach for good Latin food. Highly recommend.

I was visiting Miami Beach for a 3 day conference and I had the pleasure of dining at the Rum Room. The food was great. The steak sandwich was delicious and the shrimp were fried perfecty tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. The service was really good too. I would highly recommend that if you have opportunity to dine there that you do so. The management was very pleasant and engaging.

Had heard great things about this place and decided to check it out. It's kind of hard to find, but definitely worth it! I had the Happy Hour yucca fries 'Yuquita Frita', not over-cooked or oily, by far the best I've had in Miami. We also had the fish dip with the plantain chips, absolutely delicious and very generous portions for an appetizer. Lastly, we had these tasty ham croquettes with a sweet sauce that were spot-on! The Happy Hour Mojito was the best! I loved the ambience and that it is housed in a beautiful historic site. And I cannot say enough about the service we received from Will (Guillermo), our waiter. He was very nice, polite, funny, and appeared just when you needed him (didn't hover trying to move you along). This place is a hidden gem, from great staff like Will to the most delicious food and drinks. To top it off, it was not a rip-off like many other places on South Beach. They just need to clarify that the location is on the intersection of Dade Blvd & Washington Avenue, instead of in the Convention Center grounds (we ended up walking the massive complex up & down). It is better to park on the street, metered, or at the Municipal lot on 17th and walk up Washington Ave to Dade Blvd.

This restaurant/bar has excellent food and cocktails. The bartender, Anton, is a genuine mixmaster and creates really good drinks as he listens to what the customer likes. The food portions are generous and very tasty. I had the octopus for ap and the Salmon for entree. Loved the sauces they use. Service is A+ here. Was told they are working on a happy hour menu soon.

We had our first experience at RUM ROOM last evening and WOW!!! Housed in a historical Miami Beach site, the space is warm, intimate, and yet possesses a funky vibe. Live guitar music augmented the ambience. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and shared their love of the menu. Mitch Doren, the GM, greeted us enthusiastically. A Latin/Caribbean inspired menu is carefully crafted and creatively inspired. Samantha Cruz, the executive chef, took time from the kitchen to chat. Her extraordinary culinary background shines at Rum Room. We started with GARBONGO - a chickpea stew with chorizo and sautéed kale, topped with a golden warm bread with herbs and sea salt. The flavors are a perfect blend and the dish is comforting. We followed that with CONCH FRITTERS prepared perfectly with Keys conch and corn batter, and served a crispy golden brown alongside creole mayo. We finished with PAN CON BISTEC - a pressed sandwich of chimichurri steak, provolone, malanga strips, and candied onions. This sandwich is exotic in composition and exquisitely savory to the palate. We have a pineapple upside-down rum cake waiting in the fridge for a later time. RUM ROOM deserves your visit. We certainly will return soon. CHEERS!

If you live in South Beach, you're always thinking to yourself "wouldn't it be great if I could just find a cool neighborhood restaurant where I can go and have a nice dinner and not be charged $78 for a cocktail." THIS IS IT!! Rum Room has excellent food. Excellent service. Excellent ambiance. It won't break the bank. Many yelpers beat me to the punch in calling this place a "hidden gem" but that's exactly what it is. if you're a South Beachian - make the Rum Room your neighborhood joint.

Great food and really friendly. Very convenient spot to get a bite around the convention center.
